1st September

A new year at Hogwarts starts, hopefully lesser chaotic than last year. Liv will be stressed, this is her O. year.

It already starts stressful. Not only does Draco act off, the Gryffindors, like they ended last year on a high note, start this year on a high note.

They flew here in a bewitched Muggle car and crashed into the Whipping Willow. They hurt the tree.

The murder tree didn't hurt them, they hurt it. The murder tree!

Maybe being in the same year as the Boy-who-lived isn't that great. Anyway, besides that disastrous start, we got a new teacher for Defence against the Dark Arts, or DADA for short, Gilderoy Lockhart! Mother and Olivia are so excited for this. Well, mum wants us to let him sign our books.
This years books are written by him.

Well, according to Liv and Hadrian, it is normal for Hogwarts to change the DADA teacher each year, apparently the position is cursed. By the Dark Lord himself! Oh my!

2nd September

The day started with a Howler for Weasley, it confirmed that the car belonged to the blood traitors.

Anyway, according to Draco, a questionable source, Potter has a Fan club. A mud-blood and Weasleys sister. I have a feeling, Valentine's will be hilarious for Potter! Ginevra Weasley acts so weird around him. I even see it from the Slytherin table.

Apropos Draco, Ronald Weasley tried to curse him, the eat slugs one. His wand malfunctioned and Weasley was the one pucking. So disgusting!

Class with Professor Lockhart was disappointing. We had a quiz, about him as a person. After that, he freed a few dozen Cornish Pixies. They were everywhere! Professor Lockhart didn't do a thing! But the pixies were busy.

They hung Longbottom onto a chandelier. Most of us left, so did the Professor. Only Potter and his friends, and Longbottom but it's not like he could move to begin with, were left in the room. They did the professors job and handled the pixies.

3rd September 1992

Potter was avoiding Professor Lockhart like the plague. I admit this was funny to watch. But the Professor was not the only ones he was avoiding. He also avoided Ginevra Weasley and a boy called Colin Creevy. Looks like Potter has a fan club. Why do I get the feeling that the next Valentines Day will be fun to watch?

Anyway. Olivia and I had a discussion. You see, dear diary, Professor McGonagall impressed me with her Animagi formation. I decided to become one as well. But becoming one is very complicated, far too difficult for a second year student. Olivia started the progress. She said she will help and teach me when she manages her form or after she graduates Hogwarts, "Whatever happens first,", she said. I think she means after both criteria are meet.

My brother Hadrian told us being an Animagus is a waste of time. I'm pretty sure he just said that because he failed to become one, if that one story aunt Meredith told us is anything to go by. Hadrian's team lost an important game, so Jakob is a bit more aggressive at the moment. Good thing that Liv and I are at Hogwarts and Hadrian not.

10th September

The day starts with Ronald Weasley's wand malfunctioning. It shot in between the eyes of Professor Flitwick. Apparently the murderous Willow got one hit in. That being Weasley's wand. Serves them right.

Draco became the new Seeker for Slytherin. Not because of skill or anything, Mr. Malfoy bought the whole team a set of Nimbus 2001 brooms. Draco called Granger a Mudblood, the trio was very offended. I never realized that it is such a bad term. My family uses it so casually, they don't make a big deal out of it. On the other hand, we aren't mudbloods.

Anyway, as a reaction to this, Weasley wanted to bewitch Draco. A simple curse to spit slugs. His wand failed and Weasley was the one spitting slugs. Disgusting! His friends dragged him to the hut of Hagrid afterwards.

15th October 1992

Rumours have it that Potter got caught by Filch for dragging mud into the castle. Typical Filch. Apparently Filch left Potter alone for a bit, because Peeves destroyed something, some vanishing cabinet. Probably not important, right? Well, he found Potter reading some private letters. If this is true? I don't know.

31st October

The Halloween celebration was as grandiose as last year. Olivia really needed the break this celebration provided. But such a great feast had to end, not on a high note, no, but something terrible like last year. Last year we saw a Troll, this year... was odd.

We left the hall and found Mr Filch's cat hanging from a torch holster. She was petrified, stiff as stone. Over her, written with blood, was a message. Someone is threatening the mud-the Muggleborns. Enemies of the heir, what heir? Heir of what, I don't know.

Who ever that heir is, many people assume it is Potter. He and his friends were found with Mrs Norris when she was spotted petrified. Some Muggleborns and half bloods started avoiding him. I personally doubt that he is the heir of Slytherin. But I admit, it would be the twist of the century if he is. Oh boy, last year the troll, this year the petrified cat, is Halloween cursed or something? I mean, Potter defeated he-who-shall-not-be-named on Halloween...

Well, when we saw the message left, Draco had to say that the Mudbloods are next. They may be under us, but I think wishing them death is a bit too extreme.

1st November 1992

A birdie told me that Granger asked Professor Binns about the Chamber of Secrets. The professor mostly just ranted about it being a silly legend. Liv said she is more likely to believe that the position of the Defence against the Dark Arts teacher is cursed than that this chamber exists. My brother Hadrian wrote a letter in which he just told me about what our parents knew. Which isn't much. Fifty years ago, a girl got killed, this got connected to the chamber... until Hagrid got expelled.

Quite a huge part of the school ran with the idea that Potter is the heir of Slytherin

7th November 1992

Professor Lockhart is a let down. Since the incident with the pixies, he didn't show us any living beings in class. Instead we only covered his books, he performed some scenes. Often with Potter volunteering. I doubt Potter volunteers for the Professor. And I won't hold it against him.

Due to his lacking classes, my siblings and I made a small system. Olivia teaches me what I should learn, she learns what she should learn from Hadrian. Either at her trips to Hogsmeade or via the fire place. Some of her friends jump into their lessons. Liv has many friends in Ravenclaw, actually. I sometimes wonder why Liv isn't isn't Ravenclaw. She hopes Lockhart is gone by her N.E.W.T's. The students who have their N.E.W.T's this year really dislike Lockhart. The younger brother of one of Hadrian's friends told me that they don't listed to Lockhart in his class and self study. One of them said, 'That man is too self-important what we do, especially at the back of the class.'

Well, I teach some of the first years. It may just be their first year, but ruined fundamentals can ruin their chances in the long run! I kind of enjoy helping them. Liv said I would be a good teacher. I don't think I would, based on helping students a class under me.

10th November 1992

Today was the Quidditch match. I didn't watch. Olivia was too busy worrying about her O.W.L's, spectating without her is boring. Plus, with the Malfoy sponsored broom sticks, I doubt we'll loose. I let me tell how the match was by Draco, when the team returns. Albeit I would want to see how Draco handles himself in a real match and not just training.

I should have gone to the match! Someone bewitched Potter's broom! He broke his arm and Professor Lockhart tried to heal it! But the man managed to make the whole bone just vanish! Olivia was floored by, according to her, 'That man's incompetence!' Well, Liv said a few other words, but I won't dare to write them down in here. Potter is now in the medical wing, waiting for his bones to regrow.

In other news, Marcus Flint chewed Draco out. Draco had the Snitch in front of his eyes and didn't notice it! The Gryffindors were right, Draco really is just in the team because Mr Malfoy bought the team these brooms. Typical Malfoy.

11th November 1992

There was a second attack! Yesterday, Colin Creevy sneaked out to visit Potter, he got petrified as well. Poor boy, what a start into the new year. That surely tops the troll from last year. Hogwarts isn't what I expected... I'm not sure if this is a good thing.

18th November 1992

As an effort for us students to defend ourselves against this thing, the school started a Duelling Club. While it is on a voluntary basis, we are strongly recommended to partake in it. Well, the first years aren't, but they know nothing of use yet.

20th November

The whole club just covered the spell 'Expelliarmus'. Until it didn't. I could go on and on about the fights, but I will only focus on one thing like the rest of the school.

Draco summoned a snake and Potter spoke to it. He is a Parselmouth! And that convinced the rest of the school that he is the heir of Slytherin. I... am not sure what to believe.

15th December 1992

By Merlin's beard. What is going on with this school! Another attack, loudly detected by Peeves of all ghosts! This time Justin Finch-Fletchley was the victim, so was a ghost, Sir Nick, and once again, Potter is the main suspect. Liv calls bullocks on that one. While I do not argue that Potter is a Parselmouth, I just can't see him being a dark mage killing of Muggleborns. Doesn't he live with Muggles?

After Professor McGonagall checked on Peeves, she guided Potter to the Headmasters office.

18th December 1992

I love the Weasley Twins' sense of humour. While everyone is afraid of Potter, the twins joke about it. They announce Potter when he comes though the corridors. Their siblings aren't much fans of their brothers jokes.

Percey is the most vocal about his dislike. He would get along with my sister Olivia. She wrote up a storm in her diary about the twins. She ripped a page while writing fuelled by her anger about the twins. I enjoy them. Their jokes about Potter are relaxing. Potter seems to agree with that, he hadn't complained about them yet.

Soon, the holidays start. Because of these attacks, I have to return home for the break. I don not want to. But because she isn't in too much stress this year, at least Olivia will come home, too. She originally wanted to stay at Hogwarts, but I kind of annoyed her to come home. I doubt I can convince her next year, it would be her last year. She will want to enjoy it.

24th December 1992

Christmas is there! Presents, food! And I spend it home. No Hogwarts food again... Seriously, one day I want to try the Christmas feast, even if I need to become a Hogwarts professor for this. Apropos, Olivia said she wants to be a Professor for Beauxbatons. Why Beauxbatons and not Hogwarts, the school she attended? Olivia said she wants to leave Britain.

Hadrian thinks she wants to leave because her boyfriend is a Frenchie. In short, Olivia won't talk to Hadrian for a bit. I give them a week.

I got a broom from Hadrian, hinting that I should try out for the team. He said I would be a good chaser. Or replacement for Draco. Olivia got me material for potion making at home. Partly so that I don't use my school material while on breaks. The same could be said for aunt Meredith's presents.

We were invited to the Yule Ball of the Malfoys. It is on the 26th. It will be boring! More boring than normal. Draco and most of our friends won't be there, they are at Hogwarts. Normally, I am annoyed by Draco, but now, he is the only interesting on these balls.

11th January 1993

My friends really need to get their rumour game right. When I and the others returned, Granger was in the Medical Wing. At first, people thought she was attacked as well. If it was true, I would see it as a proof that Potter isn't the heir of Slytherin.

Well, Granger was not attacked. She apparently was a cat being, some potion failed. Another hobbyist potion maker? I hope so! I would like someone to talk about the same hobbies, not just about a subject. But I doubt Granger would want to befriend a Slytherin. Especially someone who associates with Draco.

5th Fabruary 1993

Granger was permitted to leave. I wanted to ask her if she also makes potions as a potion, but Draco and Pansy blocked me from talking to her. Pansy had nothing better to do than to laugh about my hobby. If my parents won't demand that I be friends with these two, and Daphne, I would ditch them. Maybe not Daphne, sh is a-okay.

14th February 1993

I was right! Ginerva Weasley send Potter a few Valentines. He also snatched a dairy, which Potter took back with Expelliarmus. He then mocked the Weasley girl that Potter didn't like her Valentines message.

14th April 1993

Okay. The exams of this year are soon and I need to choose my electives for next year. My parents demand that we at least choose three. Well, actually, that we choose as many as we can. Olivia choose four, and ditched one as soon as she could. She told me Hadrian choose all, but I doubt this is possible.

I will choose Ancient Runes, that's for sure. I consider doing Care of Magical Creatures and Magical Literature. Theoretically Arithmency, but I feel this one is very required considering the amount of careers requiring or at least profiting from it. Which can't be said about Magical Literature.

I discussed this with my parents, Olivia and Hadrian. My parents allowed me to do Magical Literature, if I take three other subjects, including Arithmency as well. Olivia said I should only pick three and life with our parents anger, but I doubt I can do that. Olivia said, I should pick an easy one as, and I quote 'ditching fodder', that I can drop out off as soon as I can.

It should be a subject that is easy work load. This is why I consider Care of Magical Creatures. Hadrian told me that it is easy and more practical than theoretical. On the other hand the idiot told me to just pick everything to satisfy our parents. Well, everything that isn't Divination. I'm sure that one was sarcasm, but he did say the school would provide something for the time management.

I do not want to listen to Hadrian. With his sports career, he is somewhat a disappointment in the family. And he still annoys me to join the Slytherin team. He knows I hate to fly.

I set my choices on Magical Literature, Care or Magical Creatures, Ancient Runes and Arithmency. I noted that I would be okay not to attend Care of Magical Creatures if this doesn't work in the new time table.

I am very excited for Magical Literature! While it isn't the most useful subject, it sounds very interesting and I like to read. Hadrian thought this is my 'ditch fodder subject'. He is wrong. Care of Magical Creatures is! Arithmency and Ancient Runes to some extend are just to appease my parents. But Magical Literature is because I want to.

25th April 1993

Oh, by Merlin! By Merlin! There was another attack! This time, Granger was really attacked! If this isn't proof that Potter is innocent, then I do not know! Draco of course was excited about this. And I was really struggling not to yell at him. The other girl was a Ravenclaw prefect, I think.

As a result of the double attack, there is now a very strict curfew. Mother asked father if they won't transfer us to Beauxbatons to protect us. Olivia disagreed instantly. She said switching schools so late in her education can't be good. Not to mention, so late into the year. She would only switch, if Hogwarts is closing down.

30th April 1993

Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, is visiting the school. Apparently to take the person who opened the chamber into custody. Oh my!

Professor Dumbledore left. This can't be good, can it?

15th May 1993

Since Professor Dumbledore is gone, the student body is notably more fearful. Even some Slytherins. Not Draco. He is certain they will not be in danger. He complained they have to abide the new, more strict rules implemented. Is it bad that I want that Draco gets petrified?

25th May 1993

Today in one week, on a Tuesday, are the exams beginning. Some students complained that we still have exams, all things considered. I wonder if the petrified students have to repeat the year, or, mainly the lower year victims, get to skip the exams? Granger has the grades to do so.

29th May 1993

Great news! Professor Dumbledore returns! He returns! I already feel safer. And to add to the great news, the Mandrakes are ready. There is the chance that the petrified can be healed this evening! My father told me they won't transfer me to Beauxbatons, mother is still considering.

Oh, Stars! We were just going to our next class, when we heard professor McGonagall's voice. All students into the dormitories and all teachers to the teacher lounge. Something had happened. I followed my peers to our room. I hope the danger isn't in the dungeons again. And that father doesn't change his mind again.

1st June 1993

By Merlin! Potter did it again. I defeated the heir. Well, the person who was possessed by it. Ginny Weasley got taken into the chamber and Potter and her brother had gone after her.

This event revealed that Lockhart was a faux, a scammer. He pretended other wizards deeds were his, obliviating the true ones. He tried to obliviate Potter and Weasley, but somehow used Weasley's wand. It backfired and hit him. I didn't knew that Weasley's wand was the hero we needed.

Draco's family somehow lost their house elf Dobby. He was given a sock. Everyone is revived now, the year comes to an end.

With Potter here, I doubt the next year will be calm.
