Chapter 3: Lover-In-Law

After leaving the flower shop, Naruto was still level-headed thanks to the jutsu that Ino used on him. He sent a shadow clone to inform Hinata not to wait for him. While the real Naruto was on his way to his shoddy apartment, his shadow clone had made haste to Hinata's place.

At Hinata's house

Knock knock* Hinata answered the door to see her husband. "Hey babe" she greeted him before noticing something off.

"Huh, did something come up?" she asked him. Whenever Naruto was busy or delayed or had any unforeseen circumstance, he would send his clone as a messenger to inform his wife. He always changed the hair color so that she could distinguish between him and his clones.

"Yeah, something came up so I won't make it tonight" he informed his wife. "I'll come over in the morning"

"Oh ok. Hope everything goes well" Hinata was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't make it. "By the way, do you have any idea what's up with Hanabi?" she asked hoping Naruto would give her some some insight to her sister's behavior.

"Umm nope, why do you ask?" he responded, hiding his embarrassment and the fact that he was the cause.

"Maybe I'm just imagining it, but I feel like she's sort of keeping her distance. I know how much she looks up to you and she likes you a lot, so please try to look after her" Hinata requested him to help her sister.

"Sure, I'll try talking to her" Naruto said reluctantly. "Well then, see you tomorrow. Goodnight" he said as he walked up to her. He then gently put his arms around her and gave her a sweet kiss for a few seconds. His hands wandered a bit towards her back and went a bit lower to give her butt a delicate squeeze.

After separating their lips, Hinata responded "Sleep well." Soon after that, the clone vanished into a puff of smoke and the experience was shared back to the real Naruto.

Just behind the stairs leading upstairs, was the younger Hyuga who heard their conversation and saw them kissing. "Yeah, night" Naruto responded completely disappointed. Neither Ino nor Hanabi would be available for him to hang out with. 'Well, Hinata's going to bed so I may at least be able to cuddle with Hanabi before she leaves.' During this time, Hinata had just informed Hanabi about the mission.

After a while, he walked up the stairs and sneaked into Hanabi's room to find her asleep. She was back in her lingerie and at one side of the bed. Almost like she was expecting him to join her. While he had met Shikamaru the other night at the bathhouse, Temari was back in the Hidden Sand Village. So he had no chance to congratulate her yet.

'I should visit the Sand Village sometime soon too. I can catch up with Gaara and his siblings. Maybe in a few days since I just got back' he decided the trip could wait. After some time, he decided to make his way to the Hokage's office.
