In Lelouch's room…
The proud and great Zero, protector of the innocent, enemy of evil, and Knight to the World was blushing with embarrassment.
His sweet and gentle little sister was trying to feed her some strawberry waffles with whipped cream that Sayoko made for him. Nunnally was determined to nurse her beloved elder brother and hero back to help with tender loving care. It seemed that everyone had a secret meeting and agreed that Lelouch was not allowed to do anything right now and must rely on others while he was recovering. He has been stuck in this bed ever since the fallout of SAZ and was forced to call upon others to help keep the Back Knights on the right track to stop his cruel father.
"Open wide, Niisan." Nunnally encouraged, experienced with holding up forks (and with some help from their nurse) to feed the wounded hero.
"Nunnally, you don't need to feed me. I may be a little bit banged up, but I'm not completely incapacitated-."
"Nope, you will not be doing anything, Lulu. We've already told you this. You are not moving a single muscle while you're on bed rest. We are all going to take care of you, like how you took care of us."
Nunnally, that girl knew how to tug on his heartstrings just right as he allowed himself to be fed without any more complaints. Lelouch didn't want to cause any more grief for the poor girl who was so worried about her, though it was not necessary since Lelouch was tougher than he looked.
Besides… He needed to eat if he was going to get back and manage the war between them and their father, this time the entire country was behind them. He wondered how Suzaku or Euphemia was handling things considering…
Speaking of which…?
"Do you know where Suzaku and Euphie went off to? I haven't seen them in quite some time." Lelouch wondered while Nunnally wiped his lips with a napkin.
"I think they were talking to your friends about Zero and stuff."
In the dining room…
Everyone was gathered to speak with Suzaku about Lelouch and how much he knew about their once-mysterious leader.
"So, how long did you know that Lulu was Zero or that he was a woman?" Kallen questioned the boyfriend of their leader who was still recovering from the event.
"Though I had moments of suspicion, I only realized who she was after she made the agreement with Euphie. Then I found out later that she was a girl after rescuing her from some thugs that were angry about losing money to her." Suzaku explained in detail as he still remembered that night.
"Wait-wait, losing money?" Toudou questioned, surprised to hear about this.
"Yeah, to provide for both herself and Nunnally, she gambles in a game of chess. She never loses but she puts herself in danger by doing that. Since everyone thought she and Nunnally had no financial support other than the Ashford's support, she needed to find money somehow." Suzaku sighed, hating that Lelouch would put herself into that type of situation.
Though it was for a good cause, she shouldn't be doing that. Suzaku will make certain his beloved will never have to again.
"Wow, she really is a survivor." Tamaki admired while Chiba rolled her eyes at his little crush on their leader.
"Why did they start all this? Why did they become Zero in the first place?" Chiba questioned, not seeing how a former princess from the enemy country became the most feared hero in the world.
"She did for many reasons, many, many reasons. Revenge for what her father did to them. Love for the country that gave her and her sister a home. A sense of justice for people who were weak and defenseless. A Moral Obligation to stop the Holy Empire. Hate to bring tyrants and their empires down. Take your pick." Suzaku answered then remembered the day she saved him as Zero during his trial, "But she made her debut as Zero at my trial to- well it's pretty obvious why."
"Truly amazing. It sounds like an epic from the legend of old." Diethard loved the story as he couldn't wait to reveal it when it was time.
People eat 'Forbidden Love' stories for things like this. Love on the battlefield will add another twist to the endless story of war and hope. Diethard was going to be remembered in history for writing a story like this and he was excited to see how all of this would end.
"That just leads to one more question… how has Zero been able to do so many things, these miracles?" Ohgi wondered, wanting to know how he was able to do such impossible things.
"That is something you need to know through her flash drive. But I should warn you…"
The Black Knights then looked at the boy as he needed to make sure they understood what they were getting into.
"What's on that Flash Drive is something that goes beyond the world, beyond your understanding of reality. It's something that is so impossible that it's almost fictional. Once you witness what is beyond this world, nothing will be the same for you. Once you started, there is no going back." Suzaku warned as he himself was once a fool before Lelouch showed him the truth.
"It is truly something you can't be ready for." Euhpie added, "Just remember that this is something that can be fully understood because my sister doesn't."
Okay, that really got their attention.
"We need to understand." Ohgi decided as Suzaku nodded in understanding of their determination to understand their leader and what was going on.
"Alright, do you remember the passcode?"
"Code Geass."
Suzaku nodded and then looked at the time.
"Then that's all you needed." The knight answered then rose up from his seat with Euphie, "We'll leave you guys alone to see what Lelouch has in her research. I'm going to check on my girlfriend and see how she's doing. It's time for her to take her medicine and like to be briefed on what was going on in the war."
"And I should go to check on Nunnally," Euphemia added as she followed the night to Zero's room.
Everyone in the Black Knights then looked to the flash drive, holding all the information that Lelouch cultivated.
Time to learn the truth.
