This chapter talks about sexual abuse so just a little warning before reading.

Still own nothing.

"Eric, I need an ambulance now!" Deeks yelled.

"They're on their way to you." Nell said.

"Hey, Emma stay with me okay. Just keep your eyes open for me." Deeks said to the teenager.

"I'm tired." Emma said as she struggled to keep her eyes open.

"I know but you need to keep your eyes open, okay? The ambulance is almost here. Eric, how much longer?"

At that moment the EMTs made their way over to Deeks trying to keep the teenager awake but she was fading.

"Detective, you need to move so we can help her." One of the EMTs said, trying to get him to move.

"Deeks, let them work." Kensi said as she pulled on her partner's arm.

It took a bit before they got Emma stable and ready to transport.

"I'm going with her." Deeks said as he made his way to the ambulance.

"Kensi, follow them. We'll take this lowlife to the boatshed." Callen said as he pushed a man out of the building.

"I'll meet you at the hospital." Kensi said as the EMT closed the door.

"Want to tell me what your business is with Olga Romanova?" Sam asked the man sitting across from him at the table.

"I told you, lawyer."

"Look man make it easy on yourself. The first person who talks gets the deal; by the looks of it, your friends are not talking. Or let's say, they can't talk because they're dead." Callen said but the man just kept quiet.

"Fine, I'm done." Sam said as he got up.

Just as they opened the door the man spoke again.

"How does it feel knowing that your family's name almost died out today, Agent G. Callen?"

"What did you say?"

"Have you ever wondered why Olga was so focused on Emma-Grace? Why she kept her so close to her?"

"Enlighten me."

"Does the name Galina Devoe ring any bells?"

"Not that I know…." Callen started but the bing of his phone made him stop.

A word outside, gentleman. - Hetty

"We'll see what's keeping your lawyer." Sam said as he walked out.

"Hetty, we almost had him." Callen said.

"By the looks of it, he had you Agent Callen." Hetty replayed. "Do you know who that man is?"

"Should I?"

"His name is Hristofo Comescu."

"Comescu? When did you find out?"

"If you look on your phones, you will see that Ms. Jones send you the information." Hetty said.

"Do you know who this Galina Devoe woman is he's talking about?"

"Agent Callen, I'm going to leave this here for your eyes only. I'm heading to the hospital to see how Emma-Grace is doing. Once you read that, join me if you want to and I'll tell you everything you need to know."

"Let us know how she's doing Hetty." Sam asked as she walked out. "Well, I'm going to get this asshole put away. You good here, G?"

"Yeah, get him out of here before I kill him and you have to explain it to Granger." Callen said as he picked up the folder Hetty left. Sitting down and opening it, a piece of paper fell to the floor. Picking it up, he read:

Dear Callen,

Sometimes words can never say exactly what you want to say and this is probably the coward's way out but it's for the best.

Your mission was to get close to me and find out what I knew about the Hawksley Operation but in some way, you were my mission too. CIA thought that you might have traded sides and I was tasked to ensure you were still on their side. But I made the mistake of getting too close to you and at the end of the day, I fell in love with you. My training could never prepare me for that and when you left, I knew that you would never think of me again.

But someone up above had other ideas. I went over everything in my head about how this could have happened but everything just came back to you and me. I thought I could take care of it and be done with it, but I know if I did it, I'd probably regret it later. So I hid it, told a lie and got away with it. But I was a fool and that led to me making mistakes and I got made. I went into hiding but there was no way to hide the baby and I had to make the biggest, hardest decision of my life… I had to give her up so I could keep her safe. I took her to the same place my mom took me when she didn't want me but I did it with a heart of a mother who cares and not out of hate. I knew they'd find her a home, a family that would love her and give her what I never could.

Please believe me when I say this… it was the hardest, most painful decision I had to make and I wish I could be there to see her grow. She has your eyes and your stubbornness. I hope one day you can find her and meet her. I know you can't tell her much about me but I have a feeling you'll find a way.

If you find her, love her and take good care of her.

Love

Grace aka Galina Devoe

Callen read the note repeatedly but couldn't believe it… he had a daughter and she is here in LA. He opened the file and started reading who Galina was so he could at least tell her when she asked who her mom was. But what will he tell her about who he is, when he doesn't even know who he is?

"Deeks I think it would be a good idea if you go get cleaned up. She's in surgery and I'll wait right here when they have news." Kensi said as she rubbed his back.

"I know but I can't Kens. When I know she's okay, I'll go clean up promise." Deeks said as he took her hand.

"Okay but as soon as we know she's okay, I'm dragging you to OPS to get cleaned up." Kensi said as she put her head on his shoulder.

"TMI guys." Nell said as she walked up to them. "Any news yet?"

The two of them just shook their heads no. After what felt like hours, they saw the doctor walking over to them.

"Agent Blye, Detective Deeks?" the doctor asked.

"Yes, how's she doing?" Deeks asked.

"She is stable but she has a long road ahead of her. We removed the bullets and reset her ribs and wrist. She has a concussion and lost a lot of blood so we're keeping her sedated so her body can heal." The doctor told them but they knew there was more.

"Is there anything else?" Kensi asked.

"I've seen a lot of people that suffered sexual abuse but I have never seen anything like this. That girl in there might heal physically but emotionally and mentally she will need a lot of help. If she doesn't get the right help, I am afraid to think about what she will do to herself. I only say this to you so you can make sure that she goes to a home or centre that will help her."

"Thank you, doctor and we'll keep that in mind when CPS gets here." Kensi said shaking the doctor's hand.

"Of course. As soon as she settled, I'll have a nurse take you to see her but only one at a time."

"Thanks, doc." Deeks said.

Deeks sat down in the chair behind him dragging Kensi with him.

"I'll call Hetty and follow up on who CPS is sending here to handle her case." Nell said as she bent down to hug Kensi.

"That wouldn't be necessary, Ms. Jones." Hetty said as she walked up to the three adults. "Emma-Grace is now in the care of NCIS and we'll figure out where she'll go once she receives the proper care she needs." Hetty said. "Now, detective Deeks I think now will be the best time to go get cleaned up and get some rest."

"Hetty, I just want to see her then I'll go home." Deeks pleaded.

"I understand that but all of you need some sleep and a shower. I already told Mr. Hanna and Callen the same thing so go and take tomorrow off. She'll still be here if you want to see her so go, rest, eat, get cleaned up and then come back to see her."

"That sounds good to me." Kensi said. "Come, I'll drop you off at home Deeks." She said as she pulled him up from the chair.

"Night Hetty, see you tomorrow." Nell said.

"Night Hetty." Kensi said as she followed Nell.

"Hetty, if something happens…" Deeks started.

"I will call you, Mr. Deeks. Promise." Hetty said to the detective.

As she watched him walk away, she saw that he was taking it the hardest. She knows how he felt about people hurting kids and to be honest the rest of the team felt the same but he knows how it feels to grow up in an abusive household. She can already see how he will take up the big brother role no matter where Emma-Grace ends up.

"Excuse me, are you here for Emma-Grace?" a blond nurse asked the little lady.

"Yes, I am." Hetty answered.

"Okay, follow me please." The nurse said as she walked towards the door leading to Emma's room.

Hetty's anger rose when she saw the teenager lying in the hospital bed. She looked like a ghost with machines beeping around her. But she could also see that she was a fighter and wasn't going to make it easy for them to hurt her more.

"You, my dear are a fighter, and you're going to heal. We're going to make sure you are cared for and that you get the right help and we're all going to be right there next to you. You rest and get stronger; we'll be here." Hetty said as she held her hand.
