That night, inside a barn…
"We still got the hex bags." Dean offered, "I say we head back to the panic room."
Ruby scoffed, "What, forever?"
Dean scoffed at her as he became more and more irritated, "I'm just thinking out loud here."
Ruby rolled her eyes, "Oh, you call that thinking?"
"Hey!" When Dean advanced Sam quickly got in between, "Hey, hey, hey. Stop."
"Anna's grace is gone. You understand?" Ruby glared, "She can't angel up."
Angel crossed her arms, "She may not be able to use her juice but that does not mean we're just leaving her to die."
"She can't protect us. We can't fight Heaven and Hell. One side maybe, but not both. Not at once."
"Um... guys?" Anna interrupted, "The angels are talking again."
Sam turned to her, "What are they saying?"
"It's weird… Like a recording, a loop. It says…" She looked to Angel painfully, "'Angel Winchester gives us Anna by midnight, or…'"
Angel's heart sank as she knew what was coming next. There wasn't a single doubt in her mind that the angels would drag her back to her worst nightmares if they didn't get what they wanted.
Dean immediately tensed as worry for his sister's well being flooded him, "Or what, Anna?"
"'Or we hurl her back to damnation.'"
Angel braced herself on the wall as she shook her head and let the redhead's words sink in. Her eyes traveled to gauge her brothers reactions. Both of which were shifting from worry to anger.
"Anna…" Sam met her eyes, "Do you know of any weapon that works on an angel?"
"To what? To kill them?" He nodded, "Nothing we could get to... Not right now."
"Christ…" Angel swallowed hard before looking to her brothers with determination and conviction, "You know what this means boys."
"Angel don't-"
"We're not giving her up. We're not killing someone just so i dont go back to the pit."
"Okay, wait, wait." Dean stopped, "I say we call Bobby. We get him back from hedonism."
Sam shook his head, "Dean, what's he gonna tell us that we don't already know?"
"I don't know, but we got to think of something!"
Later that night…
A/N: LGBTQ smut warning on this next part!
Upon needing to clear her head, Angel found herself idly walking outside. As she passed the impala she was met with Anna's curious gaze.
"Oh, sorry…" Angel cleared her throat and pointed behind her, "Ill, uh, give you a minute-"
"No no, stay."
Angel nodded as she shuffled back over to her, "How are you holding up?"
"Trying."
"Yeah." She nodded, "I can definitely relate to that."
"I'm just a little scared, I guess." Anna studied her quietly for a few seconds before moving closer, "Angel... I just wanted to thank you."
"For?"
"Everything. You guys- you didn't have to help me-"
"Lets stowe the thankfulness." Angel shook her head, "'Thanks for trying' doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?"
"I don't know..." She looked down sadly, "Maybe I don't deserve to be saved."
Angel frowned, "Don't talk like that."
"I disobeyed. Lucifer disobeyed. It's our murder one, and I knew it. Maybe I gotta pay."
"Ana… trust me." Angels gaze hardened, "We've all done things we got to pay for."
Anna, determination clear on her face, stepped up to her, "I got to tell you something and you're not gonna like it."
"Okay." Angel eyed her, "What?""
"About a week ago, I heard the angels talking… About you… What you did in Hell." Angel's jaw tensed as she spoke, "Angel, I know." She reached out to put a hand on Angel's cheek, one that the hunter nearly flinched at, "It wasn't your fault. You should forgive yourself."
Before she even finished, Angel, with tears in her eyes, began shaking her head as she tried to end the conversation, "Anna, I don't w- want to, uh…" She paused, choked up as tears fell down her cheeks, "I don't want to…" Anna's hand slid off her cheek but stayed holding onto her jacket, "I can't talk about that."
"I know, but when you can, you have people that want to help. You're not alone. That's all I'm trying to say."
They stood staring at one another for a second just before Anna pulled Angel by the jacket and kissed her gently. Momentarily caught off guard, Angel reciprocated before pulling back to study her curiously.
"What was that for?"
"You know…" Anna grinned, "Our last night on earth…" She motioned with her eyes, "All that."
"What, a lesbian angel?" Angel laughed softly, "I think I'm starting to like you guys…"
"Labels are…"
"Overrated."
Leaning forward, Angel took her mouth in for a deep kiss, lightly biting the red head's bottom lip. Anna moaned into Angel's mouth and it was like heavenly bliss for the hunter, no pun intended. Ever since she came back from hell Angels had an emptiness nothing could really fix. Not her brothers, not Asa, not booze and not hunting. But sex? That connection she shared with either a man or a woman, in this moment an angel, whomever, it helped her feel again. It helped her prove to herself she was still human and not something they hunted.
Angel hooked her hands under Anna's knees and carried her over to the impala. After getting her into the backseat she leaned over the top of her and trailed kisses along her jawline and neck. When Angel leaned up to shed her jacket and shirt Anna slowly unbuttoned her blouse, smirking at the hungry eye she got from Angel. Grinning, Angel kissed her breasts before slowly trailing kisses down her body, getting to her pants she unbuttoned them and slowly took them off. Looking up at the red head, Angel licked and bit at her thighs earning huffs of approval. Anna leaned up, breathing heavily, waiting and anticipating. Angel nearly ripped the girls panties off taking in the sight with a grin.
Angel blew air on her, making her squirm before kissing her in her most sensitive area. Annas has been around for thousands of years but this is definitely one experience she hadn't had, and it was one of her favorites.
Angel ran her tongue over Anna until her breathing was coming in such short bursts the hunter was sure she was going to come undone so she stopped. Placing two fingers inside her, she started moving with Anna, who had her back arched in pleasure. Angel trailed kisses up her stomach before engulfing her mouth in a hungry kiss.
Anna, on the verge of a heavy orgasm, locked eyes with her and placed her hand where the scar was from Castiel. Her legs tightened around Angel as she came undone, shaking hard and moaning.
At a crossroads…
Ruby stood in the middle of the crossroads as she put her lighter to her hex bag and set it ablaze. Seconds ticked by before she turned at the sound of Alistair's voice.
He regarded her boredley, "Hello, Ruby."
"Alastair."
"I have to say…" He shrugged as he looked around at the desolate area they were in, "I'm surprised to find you out in the open like this."
"Yeah? Desperate times."
"That they are. You looking for this?" He took out her knife from behind his back, "Your gawky human friend gave it to me."
"Keep it." Her gaze gifted from the knife back to his eyes, "I just came to talk."
"About what? About how a demon is protecting an angel? We really must revoke your membership."
"Look, I know I'm not employee of the month, but this-" She scoffed as she shook her head in disbelief, "I never wanted to get in the middle of this."
"Why are you here, Ruby?"
"I'll give you the angel."
"Will you?" He cocked an eyebrow, "And in return?"
"I walk away. Me and the Winchesters, all three of them. This angel business is none of our business."
"Hmm." A small smirk played on his lips as he studied her, "You know…" That smirk turned into a smile as he ventured closer to her, "I'd always heard that you were a devious, cowardly little slut. You don't disappoint."
Ruby turned as he walked behind her, "What do you say?"
"It's interesting… Prudent." Alastair turned to face her again as two demons appeared and grabbed Ruby from behind, "But, uh, Let me make you a counteroffer."
Back with Angel…
Angel quietly walked through the door of the barn as she put her jacket back on. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Uriel standing before her with his arms firmly behind his back.
"Look at that. It's so cute when monkeys wear clothes."
"Huh…" Angel looked him over and then the building she was in, "Am i dreaming?"
"It's the only way we could chat… since you're hiding like cowards."
"Right. We're the cowards." Angel rolled her eyes, "Where's your boss at number two? Hm? He know youre off the leash?"
"Castiel? Oh, he, uh…" Uriel looked up dramatically, "He's not here. See, he has this weakness. He likes you." His grin immediately turned into a glare, "Time's up, girl. We want the traitor."
"Wouldn't try that if I were you. See, she got her grace back. Full-blown angel now."
"That would be a neat trick, considering…" He took out a glowing vial on a necklace hanging around his neck, "I have her grace right here." He tucked it back into his shirt, "We can't let Hell get their hooks into her."
"Why don't you just give it back then?" Angel glared, "That way you don't have to worry about hell and Anna go on her merry way."
"She committed a serious crime."
"What? Thinking for herself?"
"This is our business, not yours. She's not even human…" He shrugged, "Not technically."
"Yeah, well…" Angel sighed deeply as she crossed her arms, "Us women gotta stick together and all that…"
"No." Uriel studied her as he walked closer, "There's more." An entertained smile graced his lips, "You cut yourself a slice of angel food cake, didn't you? Huh? You did." He laughed, "Well, that's a little more than interesting, isn't it?
"What do you care? You're junkless down there, right?" Angel raised her head, challenging him, "Dean thinks you share that particular trait with a Ken doll."
"Ooh." He giggled again, "Well, it's your last chance. Give us the girl, or-"
"Or what? You're gonna toss me back in the pit?" She met his eyes unwaveringly, "Do it."
Uriel centered her with a deadly look, "This is a whole lot bigger than the plans we got for you, Angel. You can be replaced."
"You think if I'm gone Deans gonna do your bidding? Or Sam? Wrong."
"Everyone's replaceable."
"One Winchester, maybe. But two? Three? Not so much." She shrugged, pacing in front of him, "But what the hell? Go ahead and do it."
Uriel scoffed, "You're just crazy enough to go, aren't you?"
"What can I say? I don't break easy."
"Oh, yes… you do." He got close enough to her to where he was towering over her menacingly, "You just got to know where to apply the right pressure."
In an old abandoned building…
Ruby was bound by leather straps to an old dentist chair as Alastair tortured her with her own knife.
"You know the problem with your generation?" Alastair spoke over her pained screams, "Instant gratification. It's all now, now, now. No patience, no craftsmanship. But I do have to say, this knife of yours…" He brought the blade up from her body so he could admire it, "It's an exquisite piece. You must tell me where you found it." She moaned and screamed in return as he resumed his torture, "You know, I haven't been up here since… Poland '43. Truth is, I loathe it. It's chilly. No stink of blood or sizzle of flesh or the wet flap of flayed skin. I don't know how you stand it." He straightened and walked around her so he was now towering over her head, "So, the sooner you cooperate, the sooner I can finish up with this ghastly angel business and return home to my studies." He grinned as he shrugged, "But no rush. Let's take our time, relish the moment." He moved to her side and started to unbuckle the strap that was around her mouth, "Now, I'm going to remove this, but don't you go smoking out of that meat. You won't get very far." As soon as he undid the binding she gasped in a breath of air, "Now, you tell me where that angel is."
She met his eyes, "No."
"No?"
"No. I tell you, you kill me. But I'll show you."
In The Barn: The Next Day
"I don't know, man…" Sam shook his head at Dean tensely from across the table as Angel and Anna walked in, "Where's Ruby?"
"Hey, she's your Hell buddy." He smirked at his sister, "So, uh, you two have a nice night?"
Angel swatted his head, "Not today Dean."
Without another word, she reached into his jacket pocket and grabbed his flask. Anna studied her worriedly as she took a long deep swig.
"Little early for that, isn't it?"
"You must not know Angel very well." Dean smirked as he patted her back, "For her, it's 2 a.m. somewhere."
"You know…" Angel glared in return, "You're such a smartass sometimes."
"I pride myself on that."
Anna earned the blonde's attention, "You sure you're okay?"
"Yeah." She offered a small smile, "Sure."
A gust of wind burst the doors open with a blast allowing Cas and Uriel to enter.
"Hello, Anna." Castiel nodded, "It's good to see you."
Dean shot up from his seat, "What the hell?"
"How?" Sam asked, "How did you find us?" There was a pause before both angels looked to the eldest Winchester sibling that had guilt cemented on her face, "Angel?"
Angel turned to Anna with tears in her eyes, "I'm so sorry." She shook her head, "I had too, you have to believe me."
Dean scoffed, "Why the hell would you do that?"
Anna turned her glare to Cas, "Because they gave her a choice. They either kill me… or kill you two. I know how their minds work." She turned to step in front of Angel to give her a deep meaningful kiss goodbye, not at all shocking her brothers but bringing pure shock to the two angels in front of them, "You did the best you could. I forgive you." Turning she finally walked forward towards Castiel and Uriel, "Okay, no more tricks. No more running. I'm ready."
