Kuri glared around at the decorations for the Snow Ball. Sure, it had been her idea for the school to combine the school dance with the Holiday Festival, and call it Snowflake Day. It excluded no one.
The organization was really difficult, so hard in fact, that she had no dance partner. No one asked her.
So she sought out Rin.
"Hey! Rin!" She ran over to his locker. "So…you going to the Snow Ball?"
"I don't know…" Rin said uncertainly. "Dancing."
Kuri laughed. "The big bad Demon Prince can't dance?"
"Aw cmon…" Rin sighed. "I just can't get up the nerve to ask anyone. Usually girls just…"
"Fall in your lap?" Kuri giggled.
"Uh…yeah." Rin looked over at her. Realization dawned. "Do you maybe want to—"
"Hi Rin." A pretty blonde. Her name was…Cassie? "You want to go to the Snow Ball with me?"
"Actually I—"
"Cmon…" Cassie grinned. "How can you say no?"
She kissed him.
Kuri dropped her books as they walked away.
