Like Dee, Ryo was always careful when parking. Both men owned painstakingly restored classic cars they were justly proud of, so naturally they didn't want to risk damaging them through their own carelessness.
Unlike some people who owned expensive cars such as Porches however, they never went so far as to take up two spaces in a parking lot. They simply made sure not to leave their nose or tail sticking out, and that they had enough space to open the driver's door. They did the same even when they were driving something from the precinct's motor pool. It was a matter of respecting not only their own vehicles, but everyone else's too.
So when Ryo returned to his car in the supermarket parking lot, he wasn't happy to find a very irate driver waiting for him, accusing him of ramming his parked car. The other car had already been there when Ryo had parked, and he'd noticed at the time it had a sizeable dent in its rear passenger side door.
"What're you gonna do about it?" the other man demanded.
"What d'you expect me to do? It wasn't me who hit your car. If it had been, my car would have visible damage too, and you can clearly see it doesn't." Ryo studied the dented door. "Besides, the car that hit yours was red, and mine's blue."
"You're not gonna wriggle outta this, I'm gonna sue your ass!"
"Good luck with that. You should look into whoever used this parking spot before me. Unless your car was already damaged when you parked here and you're trying to pull a con job."
"How dare you accuse me! I'll call the cops!"
"I AM a cop." Ryo flashed his shield.
"On second thoughts, the damage isn't that bad."
"Wise decision."
