A man from the world of Vein drops into a world of Thieves. He meets a pragmatic woman. She greets him with a calm smile. "My name is Togo Hifumi." Following the fateful encounter, a host of monsters arrive, disrupting the peace. The Thieves return to confront these entities outside their realm and ultimately cross paths with the Revenant man.

After painstaking efforts, the Phantom Thieves were on the verge of getting their leader out of prison. Before the day of his release, Ren's forgotten past catches up to him. The next thing they know is that they are dragged into an interdimensional war decided by card games.

In a last ditch attempt to beat the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, the God of Control banishes them to the/a future - namely, the Nevada of the early 2280s. The eight scattered Thieves (and a plus one) need to survive the wild west of the Mojave long enough to reunite and return to their world, and will inevitably get embroiled with the area's struggles in the process.
