Six: Wonderland Pt 2

(Kairi's POV)

The ground thundered and rattled beneath my feet the closer the heartless got. It marched toward us as it swung its clubs around in each hand.

"YOUR LEFT!" I scream at Sora, as a big gulf of fire waves in his direction.

Sora dodges and it strikes the curtains behind him, immediately setting them ablaze. Out of frustration, the heartless swung one of its long spindly arms down onto the pink table, where the two potions were. They clattered and rolled on the floor along with the table that thudded loudly as it met contact with the marbled floor.

"STAY SEPARATE" Sora yells from behind the collapsed table. "He's not very fast! We can take him!"

I nod in agreement.

"Let's go for his torso! Maybe that's his weakness, like the other one back in Traverse Town!" I add.

"AEROGA!" Donald commands, casting a spell from his staff.

A clear wide bubble burst out from the tip of his staff and floated toward the heartless. It then split into two, as the two bubbles floated at the two clubs in the heartless' hands and absorbed them. Trapping them inside.

"Oh wow!" I couldn't help but admire the magic, and the pretty shine to the bubbles before they disappear. It must have been some sort of air spell? Or maybe gravity?

The heartless stomped its feet angrily, not so pleased with the magic, but this was our chance.

"NOW! While it's distracted!" I shout over to my companions.

I watch as Goofy charges at the heartless with his shield up in front of him, he ran up against its legs with all force in attempt to knock it off balance. Donald threw more spells its way as Sora and I race toward the table. It was enormous in comparison to us. Probably the size of a collapsed building.

Sora and I climb up the table, using its legs for a boost up to the center. It was hard to find my balance at such an odd angle, considering we were standing on the thin side of the rounded center.

I begin to swerve left and right violently, in attempt to finding my balance.

"WHOA!" I squeal, as I wave my arms around and nearly drop my keyblade.

The heartless sneers down at us, its eyes glowing with hatred. We were nearly the same height as it.

Sora grabs onto my wrist to stabilize me, I look at him.

"Ready?"

Sora nods, and in sync the two of us leap off the table, striking the heartless in the center. A bright orb of light explodes around us as the heartless dissapears.

"What a racket. How's a doorknob to get any sleep?"

I look over to see the doorknob frownung at us.

"Oh! Sorry, sir!" I offer him an apologetic smile.

The doorknob lets out another yawn before falling back asleep. He reminded me of Sora, nobdoy else I knew could fall asleep that face except for Sora.

A soft clatter came from behind, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Is that another heartless?" Sora asks from besides me.

I turn to see Donald holding up a colorful gummi block in his wing.

"Nope! It's a gummi!"

"It goes to our ship!" Goofy explains, "if we find more of these we can upgrade it!"

"Huh….the colors are pretty!" I reply.

Goofy chuckles. "This gummi ain't like others!"

"I'll hold onto it!" Donald says, tucking it into his jacket pocket.

My eyes catch a glimpse of something purple. I look up to see the Cheshire Cat, he was sitting on the table that has magically stood back up to its previous position.

"Splendid!" He praises us, "You're quite the heros! If you're looking for Alice, she's not here. She's gone! Off with the shadows, into the darkness!"

"NO!" I cry, "Why didn't you help her!?"

The Cheshire Cat only fades away, vanishing into thin air.

"We were too late…" I whisper, as tears blind my vision.

I feel Sora's arms around my waist as he hugs me from behind.

"It's not your fault, you saved her from the Queen! We'll find her!" He assures me, as he kisses the side of my head gently.

Donald clears his throat awkwardly.

"Let's go back to the gummi ship! Maybe she's in another world!"

"Well, we should probably let the Queen know before we leave!" Goofy chimes in.

Sora slowly releases me. "Alright, let's go quickly! W-"

He interrupts himself and looks over at the doorknob strangely.

"Sora?"

I follow his gaze to see that the doorknob and the rest of the door itself had become this large keyhole shape. Inside of the keyshape was the night sky and bright stars, it almost looked like a portal but not as sinister as the one behind Riku the night of the storm.

"What is that?" I ask.

"The keyhole!" Donald and Goofy say together.

"Quick, seal it with your keyblades!" Donald exclaims.

I summon my keyblade and walk over to the magical keyhole in front of us. Sora and I hold out our keys as two beams of bright light emerge from them and shoot at the keyhole. I watch in amazement as the bright light covers the stars and night sky inside the keyhole. Once it was completely covered, the entire keyhole disappears.

"The world is safe from darkness now!" Goofy cheers.

"Just as Leon said." Sora replies.

"Lets get to the Queen, we don't have time to waste!" I add.

(Sora's POV)

"YOU STILL HAVEN'T FOUND THE NEW SUSPECT!? SLOWPOKES!"

The Queen of Hearts huffs after we tell her everything. The white rabbit was by her side looking at Kairi wairly.

"The Queen is tired of waiting!" He says, I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. Must be SO tough just sitting around all day.

"We will resume the trial once you capture the guilty party."

"But she's not guilty!" Kairi exclaims, "We gave you evidence!"

"I say she's guilty! SO she's guilty!" The Queen sneers.

"Who could've abducted Alice anyways?" One of the card soldiers murmured, he was standing over by the large bird cage that Alice and Kairi had been trapped in.

"Be gone you four!" The Queen waves a hand at us, "Don't you dare come back until you've found Alice!"

Kairi leans closer to me.

"As if we'd just give her away to them."

I smile and take her hand in mine.

"Come on, you. Let's see other worlds! We'll find Alice and Riku!"

"Hey, Donald! Maybe King Mickey is down there!" Goofy exclaims.

We've stopped in front of a grassy looking world covered in trees. My guess is a forest or a jungle.

"In a backwater place like that!?" Donald sneers, "No way! Let's move on!"

"What if Alice is there!?" Kairi asks.

"Yeah!" I chime in, "Or Riku? Let's check it out!"

Donald waves a wing at us impatiently. "Forget it! We're on an important mission!"

"That's not fair!" Kairi states, "You promised you'd help us find RIku!"

"We need to find our King!" Donald argues.c

"Just land!" I say, my patience was running thin.

"NO!"

That's it. He was about to find out that I can be just as stubborn.

I unfastened my seatbelt and hopped to my feet. Goofy and Kairi gasp as I grab at the tiller from Donald's wings.

"HEY!" He screeches, kicking his webbed feet angrily. "DON'T TOUCH THAT!"

"We're landing!" I declare, ignoring his squawks.

I thrust the tiller forwards, this sends the ship forwards and flying at a blinding speed.

"NOOOO!" Donald yelps.

The world engulfs us the more we descend. Large mossy trees and vines surround us, along with the world's bright natural light. I grunt as I yank the tiller upwards, it wasn't stopping. We were going at a blinding speed, at this rate we would crash if we didn't break.

"HOW DO YOU STOP THIS THING!?" I cry as I continue to jerk at the tiller desperately. I begin pressing some of the buttons on the dashboard in a panic. I could feel beads of sweat beginning to fall down my cheeks.

The four of us jump as a loud alarm goes off.

"Warning. Warning. Warning"

A robotic voice announces above us repeatedly.

"WE'RE GOING TO CRASH!" Goofy yelps.

"SORA!"

"Kairi! Stay seated!" I yell, practically sitting in Donald's lap.

He screeches and swats at me as I continuously press at buttons. "DONALD, HELP!"

The doors to the gummi ship swoosh open, inviting in a monstrous heavy wind. I felt my hair and clothes begin to blow wildily.

THWACK!
The ship hits a tree, the ship starts to spin on impact.

Kairi screams from behind me. I turn to my horror to see her get blown out from the ship's door. She had took her seatbelt off.

"KAIRI! NO!"

I couldn't loose her.

I release the tiller and hurry toward the doors. I stumble and sway from the heavy winds, grabbing onto the seats for support. Was she okay? What if she didn't survive the fall? The ship jerked as it hit another tree lurching me toward the open doors. I grab at the handle of the open door, hanging onto it tightly. My feet dangled behind me, our descend was picking up speed by the second.

"STOP THE SHIP DONALD, DO SOMETHING!" I scream.

"IT'S TOO LATE! WE'RE GONNA CRASH!"

I feel my grip slip from the handle.

"SORA!" Goofy yells.

I squeeze my eyes shut as the wind sucks me out of the gummi ship. The sound of the wind was monstrous as I fell through the air. My foot caught onto something hard stopping breaking my fall, I didn't dare open my eyes as I make contact with the hard ground.
