Pentagram City: Heaven Embassy
The lights of the Hazbin Hotel could be seen from all over the pentagram as it lit up the night sky. One angel in particular had her eyes on the place as she watched from the top of the embassy building. "Just a den of vile sin…" Lute spat as she waited for her Lieutenant to return from scouting. When she'd heard that Sir Pentious was returning to this place just for a party, she'd decided to come down as well. Not only was he there, but all the sinners she'd come to loath over the past couple years. Not to mention what passed for royalty down here. They were all there, all just ripe for the killing. She just had to summon her army and descend on the place. Even if they couldn't kill them all, they'd finally get the message through that Heaven was the true power, even if that cost a few lives. She was willing to pay that price.
"Well, well well…. What have we here? An exorcist? It's not even time for the next purge. To what do we owe the pleasure?" Lute snapped around, her mechanical arm switching to her sword and ready to strike. When she saw who it was, however, she eased her stance and let her arm switch back. "Eve." From the darkness, the shadowy figure of eve walked forwards, carefully avoiding the moonlight as she approached. "So, he talked about me? I'm so flattered" even though her dismissive tone said otherwise. "Plotting your revenge I see? Or are you simply watching because you have no recourse for a proper punishment?" Her voice was dripping with malice and seduction as she came to perch herself on the ledge of the building. "As if…all I have to do is bring my army down here and strike that hotel…" But Eve was already smirking as she summoned a martini "Like you did last year and the year before that? The exorcism is in 3 months. How do you think it will go this time when right now there are several powerful kings, a demon prince, four overlords and a whole host of other assorted rabble down there swearing their allegiance to that rancid hovel" she sipped her drink nonchalantly as she gauged Lute's reaction. "You won't even get through the front door"
Lute knew she was right. They couldn't stand up to Lucifer before, what made them think they had a chance against the rest of the demon royalty? "Not to mention Caine, he's worth two kings all on his own" Lute scoffed "Your son you mean? Adam never thought very much of him, what's to worry about?" Lute was caught off guard when she was lifted off her feet by her throat. "I forgot…you were his little plaything, weren't you?" she snarled in her face, her own visage starting to twist and change into something much more demonic and monstrous "I'm sure he told you he loved you, that you were his one and only, his forever? LOOK WHERE THAT GOT HIM!" She threw Lute to the ground as her form returned to normal and she stood over her. "Think girl. Adam had the holy light to stand up to those freaks. I can offer you something much more powerful" She held up her claw-like hand and a black flame sprouted from her palm "The darkness is much more powerful. Fight fire with fire and even Caine won't be able to stand in your way.
Lute's eyes looked to the arcane magic. Adam had died at the hands of a filthy fucking janitor of all things, and he'd had the light of God on his side. If she could use their own powers against them, she might stand a chance after all. She shook her head and pushed herself to her feet. "I know what you're doing sinner! Tempting me with your foul magic, your dark witchcraft! I am a holy exorcist! I follow the path of righteousness and strike down any sin that gets in my way" Once again her hand switched to her sword which she pointed right at Eve. "What would happen if I brought back your head for the elders. The exorcist that defeated the root of all evil? Slayer of all evil, now that has a nice ring to it" Eve barely glanced at her sword "Try it…" she grasped the sword in her hand, the blade cutting into her as blackness dripped down its blade and she pulled it closer to her chest "Right here…. right through me and I'll cease to exist. I'll be gone…. forever." She leaned in closer, her eyes boring into Lutes "But you won't, because you want a taste…a whiff of the mere power I can grant you" she reached out with her free hand and caressed her claws down Lute's cheek. "What was he like? Cruel? A masochistic jackass? I know all his games sweety, all his lines, all his empty promises. He was never going to give you what you wanted…" Even as she spoke the words, she could see into Lute's deepest desires.
A life as Adam's bride was never in the cards for her, but oh how she wanted it. A grand home in the clouds, a couple of little angels running around. She started to laugh "You actually thought you could have all that? He barely had it with me and look how that turned out" The whole fantasy dissolved until Lute was looking into dark swirling pools of despair. In them she saw what she really was. All the times she'd been naked in Adams bed, his bloated, fat body passed out next to her as she curled up on the other side of the bed. The sad part was, he'd never even tried with her. She'd been the one throwing herself at him and for what? It was never going to happen. "Yeah, I guess we can fuck, whatever. I was digging on that virtue chick from the other night, but you're here now so might as well" His words stung even now, so much so that tears were streaming down her cheeks "You don't know him!" she wanted to lunge forward with all her might and run Even through, but the fact she was right was stopping her. "He forgot all about you a long time ago. You were nothing to him once he got to Heaven!"
"I was always everything to him little girl and don't you ever forget it. I was his one true love, his only love." She smiled a wicked sharp smile at Lute as she let go of the sword and walked around her, Lute falling to her knees sobbing. "But…. I'm not like him. I won't lie to you, use you. No, I'll grant your every wish and more girl and I'll do it without any strings attached." Lute looked up at her with such hatred, but the words were starting to sink in "Bullshit. There's always strings with you people. Always a deal." Those same hands that could be so cruel, were once again so gentle, so tender as they lifted her back to her feet, gripping her chin so she was forced to look into her eyes. "Darling what could I possibly want from you that you're not already going to do once you have the powers. Besides…" she trailed a single nail down her cheek. "What Adam couldn't give you…perhaps I can" Lute pushed her hand away. "Blasphemous monster!" Eve merely shrugged "Such a narrow view of the many ways a person can find another attractive. If men and women were only meant to be with men and women, the world would be a boring place indeed."
She was suddenly behind Lute, those clawlike fingers on her shoulders. "Charie and Vaggie do just fine don't you think?" She was wearing her down, she could see it in her eyes. "Fine you want a deal then here it is. I grant you the powers you want, and in return, come next exorcism, I don't care what you do, or who you kill…. but I want to see that angel's dead body in my son's arms. Then I'll know he's just ripe for the picking. It'll send him spiraling back into the darkness and then I'll have him at my command" she extended her hand, waiting for Lute to take the deal. "Then all of Hell will worship THEIR NEW QUEEEN! I WILL BRING FORTH A NEW DAWN FOR ALL CREATION!" As her voice grew more and more demonic, Lute grew more and more interested. Such raw power and all she had to do was reach out and take it. Slowly she reached for that hand, halfway there when Eve grew impatient and simply grasped her. All the powers of darkness came flooding into Lute's body, flashes of darkness and evil passing before her eyes. "Its…it's too much…too much! Make it stop!" she covered her eyes and fell to her knees once more as her veins turned black and pulsed. Eve cackled a most maniacal laugh "Pain is power!" She faded back into nothingness with only her evil laughter left behind. Lute struggled to contain this new feeling. A feeling like she could accomplish anything in that moment. She saw the fingers on her hand turn to claws, her wings turn demonic and ragged, little horns sprouting from their ends. She moved over to a puddle of standing water at her feet and saw the change happen in her face, her eyes. She was turning into a monster, an unholy demon. She'd never be allowed into Heaven looking this way. "Think girl…does Caine or anyone else down here look like that all the time?"
Eve's voice echoed in her head. She closed her eyes, concentrating on her regular form. She could feel every little change reversing itself, some a bit painful. "It will get better with time. "Some pain is normal, it makes us stronger" Lute looked around, but couldn't see Eve anywhere "Stop torturing me! Get out of my head!" But again, that laugh echoed in the night. "We are one now sweetness. I can hear every little thought you have. Nothing is safe from me now." Lute was about to argue back when she heard the flapping of wings. Judith landed on the roof nearby and saluted her. "Sir, I've scouted the Hotel. Seems there was some trouble with shark thugs, but the radio demon quickly…. devoured them" she grimaced. Lute quickly put on a straight face as she turned and started to walk around her Lieutenant. "Were you spotted?" Judith shook her head "No Sir, I stayed well out of site and away from any of Caine's birds. Seems he was too distracted anyway with the festivities." Lute snorted "You did good Lieutenant. Give me the break down "Judith took her sword and started to draw in the gravel at their feet "Three entrances aside from the main entrance. A door, here, here and here." She marked each one. "It seems the thugs were attempting to enter through this side door" she pointed to it "So it might be reinforced or under more watchful eye. Lucifer's tower is here, the radio demon has his tower here" she marked each with an X. "No sign of where that traitorous filth and her demon bitch reside yet Sir"
Lute nodded along as she made mental notes "That's enough for now. When we attack during the next purge, we'll target those areas. Well-done Lieutenant" She walked back over to the ledge, her hand and mechanical arm clasped behind her back. "Tell me…. what was it like being that monster's wife?" There was an awkward silence as Judith was caught off guard with the question "S…Sir?" Lute continued to scowl as she barely made out the two figures on the roof of the hotel. She didn't need a spy glass to tell her who they were. "Does it bother you that he's found love in this sinful place?" Judith said nothing. "What? You think I didn't know? Adam knew. It was why he kept you so close. He may have been a jackass, but he did have a soft spot for his children, even Caine. He watched over your whole family, even after you all died." A wicked grin spread over her lips, directed at the pair of lovers on the roof top. "Tell me…. does the Lord of Darkness know he has a daughter?"
