Chapter Five: The Boomers
After their steamy exchange the previous last night, Paul and Sunny got dressed and went to speak with the boomers. They bet the guy that warned them and then they went and found cover.
They waited for 2 minutes for the shelling to stop. Sunny clung to Paul as The shells exploded all around the destroyed house they were hiding in. (You know what house)
Paul shielded Sunny with his body as the shells exploded all around them, she was curled into a ball and Paul wrapped his body around her. Once there was a break in the shelling, they dashed to the fence.
The guard let them through and they went to speak with pearl. Pearl told them what they had to do and so they went to speak with Loyal. Loyal told them about the ant problem and the bomber at the bottom of Lake Mead. They were able to get the sonic emitter off of Loyal and a rebreather off of Jack.
They went into the basement and made their way across the upper level. Sunny got jumped by two small ants that tackled her to the ground, paul killed a giant ant and was able to shoot the two ants off of Sunny.
They killed the ants on their way to where they needed to place the sonic emitter and then they got the hell out of there. They informed Loyal about what they did and he thanked them though they noticed something off with Jack.
"Jack, Are you okay?" Paul asked.
"Yeah, it's nothing."
[Confirmed Bachelor] "Jack, Tell Me What's Going On." Paul Said.
Jack proceeded to explain the situation with the redhead he likes working with the Caravan. Paul and Sunny agreed to help him.
They made their way to the crimson caravan company and spoke with Janet about the guy at Nellis. They then went to speak with the owner of Crimson Caravan and Sunny did the talking.
"Alice, you should let Janet go." Suny protested after 5 minutes of going back and forth.
"Why should I?" Janet snarled back at Sunny.
[Speech 75] "Are you really going to ruin what's supposed to be a time of happiness for her?" Sunny asked, trying to guilt trip her.
"Being sentimental is not how I made the crimson caravan so successful, but I'll allow it just this once." Alice Said.
They then collected Janet and brought her back to the boomers Jack thanked them profusely.
They then went down to Lake Mead. A few Lake Lurks lurched out of the lake and launched a sonic blast at Paul. He got hit and was sent stumbling backward by several feet. Sunny withdrew her rifle and put a few rounds in the creature. Once Paul had regained his footing he withdrew his NCR service rifle and Aimed for the head.
He then heard a mysterious noise that sounded like a guitar and he saw a Mysterious Stranger briefly appear and kill 2 Lake Lurks. Sunny and Paul shifted their attention to the final creature. They fired at the same time and killed it.
They then made their way over to the station the Boomers set up. "Sunny I Want You To Man The Harpoon." Paul said. "I will go attach the floaty things. Wait here." He attached his Rebreather and made his way down to the plane.
He attached the deployable floatation devices and headed for the surface. Just as he was making his way up he felt something grab his right leg and tug. He turned to see a Lake Lurk king. He pulled out his 10mm and tried to shoot it but he failed as the rounds were more of a suggestion to the creature.
He then pulled his combat knife off of the sheathe on his belt and tried to hack at the creature. He was able to cut it's arm, freeing him. Paul swam like an olympian and made his way to the surface. Once he made his way to Sunny he hit the button on the device and watched as the thing floated to the top of Lake Mead.
They then headed over to Nellis and spoke with Pete about the story of the Boomers and their love for the second amendment. Paul noticed a snow globe sitting in the corner and asked if he could take it. Pete said yes and so Paul put it into his duffel bag.
Sunny and Paul sat down on a bench outside of the story teller building. Paul put an arm around Sunny and offered her a sunset Sarsaparilla. Sunny took it and opened the bottle with a bottle opener. "Oh it must be my lucky day!" She said with excitement as she held up the Star Cap.
They then shared a kiss and rested there for a little bit, simply enjoying each other's company. "You are the best person ever Sunny." Paul said.
"I Love You Paul." Sunny said genuinely.
Paul Smiled, "I Love You too Sunny." The two stayed like this for a few minutes before they went to speak with Pearl.
Peal agreed to help the NCR.
