Chapter 4
Avarice and Gluttony
Okay, chapter 4 underway. No real lead in needed so... Let's kick it up
Adrian, Kagami, and Miharu arrived back at the Kougami Foundation and went up stairs to the outside of Kougami's office. In a matter of great timing as Ankh walked out.
"You were right. He wanted forty percent." Ankh said, Adrian smirking internally at being proven right.
"Well, I hope to accepted. You're going to need the gear Kagami's uncle offers. We were attacked by one of the Greeed." Adrian said, Ankh just about to ask which one.
"It was Uva. Thankfully, this guy, Miharu arrived and helped us. We managed to fight him off and even got one of his Cores." Kagami said before the mantis Core was tossed to the Greeed possessed cop.
"That puts us up to seven." Ankh said as he pulled out a yellow lion themed Core that he got from Kougami as a signing bonus.
"Glad I could help. Now, if you don't mind, I have my own business to get to with Kougami-San." Miharu said before leaving the others and entering the as he closed the door Kougami turned around to see him.
"Ah! The mysterious youth! To what do I owe the pleasure." Kougami asked in his normal cheerful tone.
"I assume by that greeting, you know where I'm from." Miharu said before Kougami turned the screen of his computer to show Mirharu arriving through a portal with a red haired woman in a white and cyan.
"I know where you're from. But I don't know who you are." Kougami said in a slightly more serious tone before Miharu reached in to his pocket.
"This is who I am." The blue clad Rider said as he placed a photo down.
"Splendid!" Kougami shouted with a hearty laugh. "So, why are you here?" He asked.
"I can't really go in to that. Spoilers." Miharu said before pulling out a flash drive. "One thing I can do is give you this. To get the ball rolling on something very important." He said, handing the drive to the older man and giving him a respectful bow before leaving the room.
Later, in the cafeteria of the Kougami Foundation building, Adrian and Ankh, and Kagami were all sitting at a table where they placed down most of the Core Medals.
"These aren't like any of the other Cores." Ankh said as he looked over the Cores that Miharu had given to Adrian.
"Yeah. But they work just the same." Adrian said before he looked down at the lion and mantis Cores. "So, based on the pattern here, I'm guessing there are three types of each Greeed's Cores." He said the other two nodding.
"That's right and if you use all three of a set or a 'Combo' you'd unlock the full power of the Cores being used." Kagami explained.
"But they come with a drawback." Miharu said on his arrival. "If your body isn't up to it, the Combos could end up killing you." He said as he sat down.
"How do you know so much about all of this, anyway?" Ankh asked, in a slightly mistrustful tone.
"It's mostly due to my parents. They were absorbed in to the world of the Medals. They knew the potential for good they had and so ended up doing research which ultimately lead to the Cores that I gave to Adrian. I just never had the need to use them due to my Aqua Driver." Miharu explained as he placed his buckle on the table.
As the group continued their conversation, they were soon approached by a woman in her late twenties came walking up to them.
"Satonaka-San. Is something wrong?" Kagami asked before the older woman placed a laptop down.
"This showed up on recent security footage." Satonaka said as she opened the laptop to reveal footage of an obeace man with the bandages of of a yummy over him rampaging through a local restaurants.
"One of Kazari's Yummys." Ankh noted, recognizing the tell tale signs of the yellow Greeed's monsters.
"We'd better get going." Adrian said before he and the others got up and left the building.
(Meanwhile inside an abandoned bar.)
Kazari, Mezool, and Gamel sat together before an enraged Uva game storming in, throwing chairs around in a rampage before on of them hit Gamel in the head.
"Ow." Gamel said in a child like tone before Mezool went to comfort him.
"What's got you in such a foul mood?" Kazari asked before the green Greeed went to the bar and leaned against it while slamming his fist down.
"I went to get our Cores back from OOO. But another transforming warrior was there and they took another one of mine.
"Another transforming warrior?" Mezool asked.
"I've been doing research in a human disguise. Apparently there are a lot of them now. In this country alone many warriors like OOO, Kuuga, and the Century Kings have risen up. We'll have to be careful until we have the rest of our Cores.
"That reminds me. The warrior who aided OOO had cores I've never seen before." Uva informed the others.
"New cores? How intriguing. We should keep an eye out." Kazari said with a glint of excitement in his eye. "We should keep an eye out and see what they can do. I'm going back out to watch that yummy I made." He said before medals rippled around him before his form changed in to that of a blonde young man wearing a pair of black pants, black baseball cap, and a yellow plaid shirt over a white t-shirt. He then left the bar before Mezool got up.
"Mezool? Where are you going?" Gamel asked before Mezool shifted to that of a young girl with long black hair clad in a cyan skirt, black legging black shoes, and a long sleeved blue plaid shirt.
"I'm gonna go look for a host to make a Yummy. Gamel, stay here. Uva needs time to heal." Mezool said, gaining a nod from the grey Greeed before she left.
(Back with Adrian)
The holder of the OOO Driver and his companions were riding through the city while searching for the Yummy.
'Okay. Where is this guy?' Adrian asked himself before he noticed several people running away from an area. Seeing that, the group all rode towards the area where they saw the Yummy host stuffing his face full of food.
"We have to be careful. The Yummy is inside the victim." Kagami explained.
"So what do we do?" Adrian asked as Ankh prepped the Cores.
"The Yummies will want to go after you just as much as the hosts desires. Lure them out." Ankh said as he tossed the medals to Adrian who then nodded to Miharu before the two of them stepped forward.
"HENSHIN!" Adrian and Miharu both called out as their armors appeared over them, the former taking the base Tatoba form. The two then ran forward to where the victim was. The victim was quick to try and rush at OOO before Aqua moved in behind him and caught him in a full nelson. Just then medals moved all over the body of the victim causing the yummy to take the form of a humanoid cat monster which then broke free from Aqua's hold before he swiped at OOO, the Rider barely calling his claws out in time to block the hit before attempting to slice in to the Yummy only for them to bounce right off.
OOO and Aqua both fell back while Kagami provided fire to hold the Yummy back.
"Okay. Plan A didn't work. Moving over to plan B. Use this to pull him out." Aqua said, tossing a black crab themed Core Medal to OOO.
"Taka! Kani! Batta!" The scanner before the arms of OOO's suit were changed to a pair of black armor pieces that slid from his biceps down to his hands to form a pair of crab claws.
"Oh this will work." OOO said in a chuckle before he looked to Aqua and Kagami and signaled them on what to do. His allies then then fired diagonally, Kagami with her buster and Auqat with water blasts from his hands at the Yummy as the OOO rushed forward, opening his claws and stabbing them in to the shoulders of the Yummy before closing them and pulling back as hard as he could to pull the host out of the Yummy.
With the Yummy's host safely away from the monster, OOO took notice of Aqua as he pulled the Hachi Core out and tossed it to his fellow Rider.
"Taka! Hachi! Batta!" The scanner called out before the shield and stinger arms came to his armor.
"Now! Finish it quick!" Aqua shouted, gaining a not from OOO as he swiped the scanner over the OOO Driver once more.
"Scanning Charge!" The scanner called out before OOO leapt forward with the power if the Batta legs and pierced strait through the obese monster's stomach and back causing it to explode in to a massive pile of medals.
"Nice haul. He must've been at it for a bit." Ankh said before raising his arm to summon the Cell Medals to him. However as Aqua watched the Medals float through the air, his eyed caught sight of a few moving away before his head jolted up.
"Adrian! Down!" Aqua shouted as OOO just barely ducked and rolled out of the way of an attack from Kazari.
"Not a bad reaction, OOO." Kazari said by way of greeting.
"Kazari." Ankh said in a growl.
"Ankh. You look like you've lost some weight." Kazari mocked looking at Ankh's arm rather than Shingo's body.
'He looks more complete than Uva did. He must have more Cores. This is gonna be tough.' OOO thought as he unconsciously began raising his shield before Kazari rushed at him. Aqua then quickly attached the Yellow Greeed's flank only to have his punch caught.
"Oh right. The other transforming warrior. Almost forgot about you." Kazari said before tossing Aqua in to OOO.
"This isn't good. He's walking through us." OOO said while Ankh added fire blasts from his hand to Kagami shooting at Kazuri with her Cell Buster. "Got any ideas?" He asked his fellow Rider, his implication clear.
"I don't like letting you do this so soon. But..." Aqua said before has pulled out two monochromatic Core Medals, one spider themed and one bat themed. "Let's try to make this quick." He said, gaining a nod from OOO as he stood up, pulling out the okami Medal and placing it with the two new ones and scanning them.
"Okami! Kumo! Komori! Okkuko!" The scanner sang out in stereotypical spooky music before the wolf helmet game to OOO in addition to webbed themed bracers and shoulder pads, a back pack with four oppenings, and boots with bat wings on the back and speakers on the soles, all of which making him look like he stepped strait out of a black and white movie.
'So those Medals did come in Combos.' Ankh thought as he looked at OOO struggling slightly at the weight of his new power.
"Well, this should be fun." Kazari said as he went to run at OOO before four spider limbs came from his back to strike the yellow Greeed before a made a black fog appear and envelope him.
Using the the sonar sense afforded to him by the wolf helmet, OOO attacked his blinded foe, making special use of the bat legs giving him access to a sonic attack. After several kicks he then used his spider legs on his back to pick Kazari and throw him in to wall.
"I can't... keep... this up. Gotta... end it... now." OOO said between strained breaths before pulling the scanner off and swiping it once more.
"Scanning Charge!" The scanner called once more before three rings appeared between OOO and Kazari.
"SEIYA!" OOO Shouted sending a sonic wave at the yellow Greeed which he moved to attmept to avoid, only to be hit square in the leg, causing two medals to fly out as he barely made an escape. OOO then then let out several more struggled breaths before his armor disappeared and he collapsed to be caught by Aqua who powered down shortly after.
"Are you okay?" Kagami asked, running up to Adrian while Ankh went over to fallen cores to see an additional Tora Core as well as a cheetah one.
'Those Cores don't seem much stronger and he was still able to use a Combo to beat Kazari.' Ankh thought as he looked over at Adrian assuring Kagami that he wasn't hurt. 'Still, Kazari's not stupid. He'll make sure the others don't try solo attacks again. He's going to have to get a lot better a lot faster.' He thought while looking at the three of Kazari's Medals he was now carrying.
