And I must admit, 40 pages wasn't my goal; I just wrote something I wanted to try and this happened.
Anyways! Thank you, everyone, including Scribe, for your reviews, and liking this story so far, and those who point out some mistakes. I hope that what I plan won't be 'that bad'.

We had moved from the center of the guild and made our way to the upper level of the Guild, where the private tables are. You know, the 'usual' talking in secret that happens in the movies.
We all sat down; and by 'all' I mean Sorceress and me. Hikage chose to stand behind me, like a bodyguard would do.

"So, tell me," I began saying as I connected my hands and placed them on the table. "What can I help you with?"

I snapped my head around, making sure that nobody was looking at us, before narrowing my eyes at her. "Where did you find this?"
From what information I gathered about my life before merging, Dragons have been an absolute myth. There had been theories of them existing somewhere in the era, and evidence that some are still alive.
Obtaining something like this? It is practically impossible for people like us. Even my mother, with her connections, would find it difficult to even get a scale the size of a finger.
"That was found in a certain place I will keep for myself until we reach an understanding." She said as she once again placed her hand inside her cleavage and pulled out three Dragon Claws. "But I was simply investigating a place for some materials for a potion I was making when I came across this…treasure."
Not going to lie, it was. With that claw, anyone could make a decent knife that would never lose quality for at least 50 years, and that's one option. Imagine what else could be there.
But while my curiosity changed into interest, it also came with confusion and suspicion.
"...Why?" I ask her, making her hum. "You said it, this discovery is a treasure. You could get rich with possibilities…Why did you bring this here?"
Thinking this logically, she shouldn't have a problem with anything. She's a powerful magic user, and according to my memories, should be Rank A.
Yeah, something I seem to have forgotten to explain. Adventures are ranked, to the surprise of nobody.
Is the usual, from A to E, highest to lowest.
Hikage and I are C Rank, last I checked. Two ranks below her, it made no sense she wouldn't be able to handle it, or even ask for adventures from the same rank.
"Call it a woman's intuition." She simply said as she placed her arm on the table and rested her head on it. I think I'm seeing some sort of…curiosity in her eyes. "I felt that going into this small expedition alone would be unwise. So here I am, looking for a few brave souls to accompany me on this small quest."
Okay, that makes a bit of sense. But still- "That still doesn't answer; why come to me?" I need to know why she brought this to me.
Sorcerers simply stretch her hand at him. "Before I explain, may I please hold your hand?" I felt Hikage glaring from behind. "Worry not, bodyguard. I'm simply in need to confirm my suspicion." She said that with a smile, not even unnerved.
Hikage didn't say anything. Or more likely, she couldn't.
I think this is her way of saying that she will only act if told to.
"...At ease," I raised and showed my backhand, "I don't think she'll do anything to me." Again, she's way more powerful than us combined right now.
Even if she tried to, which she won't as she saved me from Zack, she would be in deep trouble with Mother.
I mean it…Nobody wants Tamanna Crusch on their bad side.
Hearing my words, Hikage toned her glare. With her calm a bit, I extended my hand at Sorcerer, touching her skin. She was smooth and so soft. The elf closed her eyes for a moment…and then her cheeks turned red and she began to chuckle. "Marvelous…" She opened her eyes again, and I saw that her curiosity turned into something else.
I'm not very smart to figure that out just yet, but I think the sentence 'I want it!' fits here.
"Is as I suspected. Lord Cross." She pulled away her hand. "You have a fine talent for magic."
"...Huh," I said to her, while internally rolling my eyes. Of course, I have magic, my stat said so, but I haven't… ('Xeno? Is my magic unlocked?')
Not yet.
('Then how did she…Are you made of magic?')
No.
So she can sense my dormant ability? Interesting. "What exactly are you saying?" But let's keep it safe for now and be dumb.
Who knows who is your enemy and ally?
"That you have potential in using a lot of magic." She explained, "I can sense magic around me, and can identify those who can use it well." She looked at Hikage, "You're little girl over here has a good amount of magic as well. Enough to rival Rank B adventures."
"..." If Hikage was happy for the compliment, she sure didn't show it, or she didn't care much.
"That man you had a problem with? His magic was regular. He could handle all Rank C adventures if he trained well."
Zack was born into nobility after all, and he is a mercenary. So it's no surprise that he has some sort of knowledge of it.
"But you?" Sorcerers look back at me, "I sense a lot of magic. So much that I'm completely mesmerized by the potential you could have. That's why I came to you."
So I attracted her with my magic? My still-lock magic pool.
Yeah, sorry people. I'm feeling a flag, but I don't know its color.
"...Well, it is nice to know that I have magic in me and got interested in how to use it, but that still doesn't answer the question of why you came to me with this." I need her reason here.
"Tell me, Lord Cross. How would you like to learn magic from me?" She finally said.
"...Are you offering to be my Master in magic?"
"I find it disgraceful that you have magic but are unable to use it."
She brings up a valid point; what's the point of having magic if you can't use it? "I must agree with that, and pardon my words, but what makes you believe you're capable of helping me? Let alone become my Master?"
Now, don't get me wrong, having someone like her as a Master of magic would be a blessing. Not only because she is considered the best Magic user in Crusch, but being an elf is a big plus since her affinity with magic is very high.
Did I mention that before? I mean, it should be obvious by now; Elves are known for having good use of magic, or at least that's what fiction stories and movies said(anime and manga as well).
Anyway, it would be beneficial for me to have her teach me…but like I said, can I trust her? Is becoming my teacher her goal…or there's something more?
If so, there's not much I can offer as I'm the 'Bastard' of the Crusch family.
And that is a look of weakness in the nobility, far often what it's used for 'other' things
"Are you saying that you already have people that can teach you better than I?" If she felt insulted by my question, she wasn't bothered by it.

Safina isn't that advanced in magic, Mother is a no-go for…personal reasons and the other is currently unavailable to me.
"And I spent most of my time alone in my potions and adventuring." Sorcerers sigh as she seems to deflate, her breast landing on the table and just bouncing. "I really could use some company right about now." She is inflating her cheeks like a kid.
"...Not going to lie, having you teach me would be a blessing." I said, making her perk up, "But before I decided to do it, how about we do a test of teamwork?" Yep, this will work.
"Teamwork?" Sorceres raised an eyebrow, "Are you saying you don't trust me?" Seriously, I just said that not too long ago.
"No offense." I closed my eyes and placed my hand on the table, crossing my fingers. "But just because you are the best sorcerers in the land, doesn't mean I should trust my well-being in your hands just like that, and vice-versa."
"...So you wish for something to test me…and have something for me to trust you?" She summarizes it very well.
"I find that the best outcome." I said with a narrowing look. "For my well being, and yours."
"...Heh…Hehehehe." I don't know what she found funny.

"Wow…I feel so tired and I barely did anything." I said as I rolled my shoulders.
Talking to the elf took only thirty minutes, I had told her about the bandit problem in town. It was simple what she should do; help me out by either keeping an ear or eye on any of this or get information that could lead to these heists. Accepting the condition, she told me she would have something for tomorrow and that I should meet her before noon.
Simple and easy? Too little to gain my trust? Probably. But I don't have anything else that would put a challenge to a Rank A adventure.
I literally just got here.
"Thoughts?" I asked Hikage.
"...She's okay for now." She said with a tone that leaves little to believe that is a good thing. "I do not think she would be so foolish to talk to you with alternative intentions so forward."
"Well, only time will tell." The sad truth of those words indeed.
We reached the gates of the manor, greeting the guard before walking inside. Telling her to dismiss, Hikage bowed before disappearing into her shadow.
How I envy her. I want to disappear into my shadow too.
Looking at the corner of my eye, I saw that it was 5:30 PM. It was still early, so I chose to go to one more place before heading to the dining table.
I brought my map again, showing me not just the landscape, but also the quest I have to do. There was a check in the house gate, telling me that I had filled it.

Anyway, I found myself not only because I wanted to see what was around, but because talking with Sorcerers has reminded me that I have memories of being here to read with Safina and learn magic.
Surely I will find something here.
Walking to the first shelf with books, I began to look around, surfing through my new memories before landing in one book. A simple basic magic book for beginners.
I'm not kidding, that's the title; 'Basic Magic Book for Beginners'.

I grabbed the 76th book, this one about the story of Crusch founder, Braxus Crusch, Mom's Great-Great-Great Grandfather. Opening the book, I felt information just go inside my mind.

"Lord Cross?" I snapped back as Maria called me.
"In a second, Maria." I replied as I closed the book and went to place it back on the pile of books. "Did Farasha came back?"
"Unfortunately, Lady Farasha is still out." Maria said, "We have received a letter not too long that things have been hectic near Boan. Fortunately, she found a resident with the Prefect and will be staying there for the night." Well, guess she won't be joining us for dinner.
"Did the letter specify details of the problem?"
"A simple 'This thieves are tricky' statement." So in other words, she claims to have it under control, despite being difficult.
"Well, she claims to be fine, so that's enough for me." I said as we began to leave the library and headed to the dining table. "What's for dinner?"

It took us five minutes to reach the dining room, where Mom, Safina, Hikage, Evelyn, and two other maids were waiting for us. My dark elf maid had quickly prepared my chair and let me sit on it. I thanked her, which made her blush and smile before she and the rest began to remove the trays to show us our food. With a simple prayer, we began to eat.
Honestly, it amazes me how I have clean eating manners. Not that I'm implying I was a pig back then, but it's not easy to get proper training in this; especially when I'm now part of a nobility house.
The food was okay for my taste. I'm not quite peckish, but I feel like the meat lacks several things; like the right kind of seasoning. Hmm…will need to see this later to discuss.
Looking at my side, Hikage was eating her meal with a small lack of manners and speed, as if her mind was somewhere else at the moment.
Now, you may be wondering why my bodyguard is eating at the table with the family too.

The aura vanishes instantly and Tamanna smiles brightly. "That's more like it, dear." You could feel me and Safina just sweatdrop at this.
Yeah, Tamanna has…the tendency to 'adopt' children in any way she could.
As in, when she heard about Hikage's childhood, she just blatantly declared she was her 'daughter'. Something the poor girl didn't know what to do with or feel.
"...So…I talked with Sorcerers." I brought up a subject to talk about as we eat-
"What?!" Safina squawks at me in disbelief, "You met Sorcerers?!" Right, as a practitioner of magic, someone like her would find the Greatest magic user in Crusch's admiration. "And you talk to her?!"
"The other way around; she spoke to me." My words made her jaw drop. "Saying that I seem to have a hidden talent for magic and wish to…become my Master."
"...Oh…So this is how Sister feels when you get something so unfair." Safina was now looking at me with jealousy and pouting hard.

"Oh hush now, Safina." Tamanna waves to her to calm down before looking at me. "But oooh~ I'm so happy for you! Dinelynd is one of the best! If you accept her offer, it will be a massive boost to you!"

I felt my eyes just pop off like a cartoon as we all robotically (even the eating Hikage with her usual expression, and Evelyn and the other maids) turn to Maria, who remains passive and unflinching. Safina was the first to let her jaw fall onto the table.
"M-MARIA!" Followed by Tamanna turning like a tomato and glaring at her with a death stare. "You weren't supposed to say that!"

I saw an image of the shield, it was a resemblance to Marvel's Super Soldier's shield. Instead of the American stripes color and star, it was a glowing metal with two layers, the front having a bump and a zig-zag form heading to the center, like a thunderbolt.

"...Nothing much." I sigh…before turning to the side of me with a raised eyebrow, totally not spooked, at Hikage sitting next to me, all naked. "And when did you get in here?"
Her usual amber blank expression looked at me as she relaxed on the steamy water. "Just a few moments ago." She said before proceeding to stretch her arms up…and giving me a view of her floating mounds.

"Alright. Two more questions," Taking a deep breath yet again before I asked, "Are you currently feeling like that right now?"

I thought before moving to Thunderbolt, a small lighting danced through my hand. I played a bit with it, it followed my hand's rhythm in a zig zag before trying to shoot it. It…didn't end well as the lighting was off balance and hit around the dummy a few times, or even missed the target. Even with trying a gun-point form with my hand, I discovered that my control over it wasn't great.
Of course, I try other methods like spear throwing or baseball throw. Unlike Fireball, which is a simple condensed element that spreads (Is that right? I'm not good at science) Thunderbolt is a free form that is supposed to be released as fast as it was formed. At least this version.

Now, Levitation was where I spent more time focusing. By focusing my magic, I could lift up a rock from the ground and float for about ten seconds before it stopped. I tried several things to float up, but it was there that I realized that I began to feel tired. I quickly looked at my stats and found out that my MP had gone to 65. That seems to be the calling for me to call in a break.
I was sitting down when I felt a towel landing on my head. Looking up, I saw Safina, dressed in casual clothing. "Overtaxed yourself already?"
"A bit." I replied as I thanked her for the towel and cleaned my sweat. "Seems I was too focused on trying."

Anyways, after surviving what I believe was exactly 40 minutes, Safina ran out of magic juice and I fell down in tiredness, covered in burnt marks and electric arcs. My HP went down a little, proving that she was holding back. She then proceeded to pout hard and walk away, stating that she wasn't speaking to me all day.

Either way, it wasn't until she was gone that my bodyguards came out from the shadows and dragged me to the medical bay of the house, where Evelyn is currently stationed right now.

"Just take a deep breath-ow!" I was trying to calm her but the sting began to act on my body, which made her panic even more. "Hey, breathe!" I reminded her again, "Panicking won't help you in anything. Maintain calm, take three deep breaths and exhale them." She did as instructed, placing her hands on her chest and began to calm down in each breath. "Good…Now, continue." She nodded and resumed her treatment.
A minute later, I was healed up completely. No more pain in my body. "Nice. Very well done, Evelyn. " I said.
"T-Thank you!" She blushed. "E-Even if it's not that great, I can still heal you at best!" Right, her bit of self-loathing.

I sense both Hikage and Kuzaha come out of my shadow, making Evelyn yelp in surprise at their appearance as she hides behind me. "Girls?"
"It's almost time to meet with the Sorcerers." Ah, it's almost noon then. Quite the fast forward day.
I turned to Evelyn, grabbed her head and kissed her forehead, making her turn crimson. I thank her for healing and promise her to fix her magic problem soon. She nodded rapidly and quickly excused herself.
Again, it wasn't going to rise more, but I can tell the points raised with her.
Turning my head, I was going to tell them to wait outside, and I raised an eyebrow when I felt Hikage and Kuzaha staring at me. "What?"
"Nothing." They both replied. Suspicious, eh?
Yeah, fuck that. I can tell they're both jealous.

Hikage immediately appeared in front of me, looking at my eyes with expectation.
Chuckling, I kissed her forehead, and saw no change in her look…so I moved to her lips, and she reacted like a dog wagging its tail.

Hikage moves away, a flourish aura of joy coming out, as Kuzaha walks up to me, also having expectations in her eyes. So I kissed her forehead, and she hummed in delight before moving back.

Sighing at my missed chance, I quickly went back to my room and got a fresh pair of clothing, put on and met up with both girls at the entrance, the station guards there greeting me as we left. "Let's hope we get some information today."
