Second major plot arc! Bit more AU but still tracks pretty close. Hope you like it! Reviews spark joy :) \
Sophie didn't love the bunker. And really - who could blame her? When Bobby's house was destroyed her farm went with it. And sharing an underground lair - no matter how comfortable - with her brother-in-law wasn't exactly ideal. Not to mention the strain of loosing Bobby. Everyone had taken that hard.
But eventually things started to feel okay again. And after about two months at the Men of Letter's Bunker Dean heard Sophie screaming for him from the bathroom. He sprinted through the halls and skidded to a halt outside the bathroom door. It was quiet now. And he was trying to decide whether that was a good sign when he wrenched the door open.
Sophie knelt on the floor by the bathtub, hair still wet from the shower, wrapped in her towel.
"You hurt?" He asked frantically, crouching beside her and taking her by the shoulders.
Sophie shook her head mutely.
"What's wrong?" Dean asked, "You were screaming for me a second ago. You gonna have a seizure?"
"Maybe," Sophie shrugged and pointed at the bathtub ledge, where she had eight little blue plastic sticks lined up in a row.
It took Dean a minute. But eventually his eyes focused. And he realized all eight of them said the word "pregnant" on their tiny black-and-white LCD screens.
"You're having a baby?" He sounded dazed when he finally found his voice, "We're having a baby?"
Sophie nodded again.
"We're excited about this right?" Dean asked.
"I think so," Sophie replied, "We've been trying for what - four months now - right? So that puts us - on average - a 68% chance of conception by now? Factoring in my age and previous medical…"
Dean raked a hand through his hair, then quickly returned it to Sophie's shoulder when he saw her swaying slightly, "You good?"
"The light's aren't actually making patterns on the walls right?" Sophie asked, "And there is no mariachi band?"
"No and no," Dean said gently, "Hey, even though we were trying it's still a big shock. Right? Not unexpected your body'd react."
Sophie shook her head then lay down on the bathroom rug moments before the convulsions hit.
"And I should have asked if I could tell Sam…" Dean muttered to himself, sitting down, pulling off his boots, and fixing his gaze on the ceiling.
