To my readers-I decided that instead of making 2 huge volumes of A Ketchum's journey, I decided to make them into 4 separate volumes. Volume 1 will contain the Kanto and Johto regions, Volume 2 will contain Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, Volume 3 will contain Unova and Kalos regions, last but not least, Volume 4 will contain Alola and Galar regions. I want each and every one of you to know that if you personally don't like the way I'm writing the fanfic, then you don't have to read it. I will not reach through my laptop to force you to read any fandoms that I write for because you can probably find a lot better fanfics in those fandoms over mine. Even if you can't find what you're looking for and still don't like the way I write it, then I encourage you to write your own. Happy Reading!

I DONT OWN POKEMON. I ONLY OWN MY OC AND THE CREATION OF HER REGIONAL POKEMON TEAMS. ALL REGIONAL POKEMON TEAMS WILL BE POSTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CHAPTERS FOR MY OC.

Shoutouts:

Narrator: Still striving to become a Pokémon Master and the best trainer, Ash and Hayley have journeyed to the Hoenn Region, taking only Pikachu and Meeko with them.

Hayley: That's right.

Meeko: Riolu!

Narrator: Upon arrival, brother and sister met Professor Birch in Littleroot Town where they also met May, a young trainer just beginning her own Pokémon journey and her younger brother, Max.

Hayley: Who, by the way is starting to mellow out when it comes being a know-it-all.

Max: Just like you're trying to be the best trainer?

Meeko, smacking Max on the head: Riol, Riol!

Max, his hands wrapped around his head: Hayley! Meeko hit me!

Hayley: Well, you made her mad, so you gotta fix it, Max.

Narrator: As these four began their travels, it wasn't too long before they bumped into Brock as well. Together, they set out to discover the many adventures that the Hoenn Region holds. As they traveled, Ash managed to capture a stubborn Taillow in the Petalburg Woods as well as a Treecko, whose cool and collected manner masked a strong nature, making this Pokémon the first to jump to our heroes' defense.

Max: I won't apologize.

Hayley: You better apologize to her, or you'll be taken down a notch.

Meeko: Riolu!

Narrator: Hayley was able to capture a unique Zigzagoon and in hopes that she would find her next Pokémon. While Ash and Hayley's friends continue to grow in number, they hold their present course toward Rustboro City, where the first gym in the Hoenn Region awaits their arrival.

"Hmm?" said Max, looking to his right at something. "Hey, look at that sign."

"'The gym with the world's most powerful Pokémon just ahead'." Brock said, reading the sign aloud.

"That's so cool." said Ash. "The world's most powerful Pokémon?"

"Pika." said Pikachu.

"This I gotta see." said Hayley.

"Riol." said Meeko.

"I can't wait to find out which one it is." squealed May.

"Let's go check it out." said Max.

"Good idea!" said Hayley.

"Okay." said Ash and they went off in search for the powerful gym. "I guess this is it."

Upon arriving, the quintet heard a young trainer scream as they ran out of the gym. "Hey, what's the matter?" asked Ash.

"Pikachu." Pikachu said in concern.

"Oh, man. It's crazy." said the young trainer.

"How crazy?" asked Hayley.

"Really crazy. And it can't be possible." the young man said. "That's not a normal Pokémon."

"Do you think he just lost a battle to the world's most powerful Pokémon?" asked Brock.

"He must be talking about the one on that sign back there." said Max.

"If he did battle and lost, then Meeko's not battling that powerful Pokémon." said Hayley.

"Riolu." Meeko said.

"All right." said Ash. "Then I'm gonna challenge that Pokémon myself."

"Pika." said Pikachu.

The quintet rushes inside and onto a battlefield. "I'm here for the world's most powerful Pokémon." Ash called out. "I challenge you to a battle."

Cheering was heard as the doors opened. "Ah!" said a man as he comes out with a Pelipper.

"Pelipper."

"A battle call." said the man. "The sound that's music to my ears. They call me Anthony. If you want the battle of your life, you've come to the right place."

"I guess a lack of confidence isn't an issue here." said Brock.

"More like encouraging a huge ego." said Hayley.

"Olu." said Meeko.

"My name's Ash and I'm here for a gym battle." Ash said to Anthony.

"Is that Pelipper the world's most powerful Pokémon?" asked Max.

"You can bet your boots on that, but this is not an official gym, and I have no badges to give either." answered Anthony. "After all, why should I have any badges on hand when my Pelipper here never, ever loses?"

"He's pretty sure of himself." said Ash. "And like Hayley said, it's encouraging an ego."

"Pelipper, the water bird Pokémon." said Dexter. "Pelipper carry small items in their mouths over long distances and when tired, rest floating on the water."

"Mark my words, I will not rest until everyone knows that Pelipper is the world's most powerful Pokémon." said Anthony.

"This guy should hold seminars." said Brock.

"Yeah, well, then I challenge you and Pelipper to a battle." said Ash, causing Anthony to laugh.

"I accept any and all challenges at any time." said Anthony.

"Mm, we wouldn't expect anything less." said Brock.

"My brother needs the challenge." said Hayley.

"What are the rules?" asked Ash.

"I battle using only the world's most powerful Pokémon." he said. "You may use as many Pokémon as you like."

"Really?" asked Ash.

"Cool!" said Hayley, then looks at Meeko. "Think you could help Ash?"

"Riol!" said Meeko, then punches the air a couple of times.

"I knew I could count on you, Hayley." said Ash. "But I don't think I would need her this round."

"That's fine. But Meeko will be ready, just in case." said Hayley as Meeko nodded.

"Well, this just keeps getting better and better." said Brock.

"You're letting Ash use your Pokémon?" asked Max.

"Yep." said Hayley, as Meeko kicks the air.

"Hayley knows that Ash can't use her Pokémon in the Pokémon League, but for things like this…." Brock explained.

"Meeko and other Pokémon that Hayley captures will get experience by letting Ash help train them." said May as Max nodded.

"Exactly." said Hayley. "I don't mind because Ash promised that he'll help me practice for when I go on my own journey."

"May, when I get my first Pokémon, will you help me practice for Gym battles?" Max asked his sister.

"I promise, Max." she tells him.

"All right." said Ash. "Let's get on with it then."

Once they were on either side of the field, the battle was ready to begin. "Go Treecko." said Ash. "I choose you."

"Treecko." said Treecko, then chews on its twig. "Treecko."

"Pelipper, let's go." said Anthony.

"Pelipper."

"I'm not so sure about this world's most powerful Pokémon stuff." said Brock.

"I agree." said Hayley. "Every Pokémon is powerful in their own way, just not in the entire world."

"Hey, Max, what attacks does Pelipper use?" May asked.

"A Pelipper has the ability to use both flying and water attacks." Max explained, then crossed his arms. "You're the Pokémon trainer, May. You should know at least that much."

May starts laughing as she sticks out her tongue. "Pelipper. Wing Attack. Let's go." said Anthony.

"Pelipper." it said as flies in a loop-de-loop, then flies towards Treecko. "Pelipper."

"Now, Treecko, dodge it." said Ash.

"Treecko." said Treecko, dodging the wing attack.

"Way to go, Treecko." Ash said, praising Treecko. "Got to say when it comes to speed, you're number one."

"That Pelipper sure doesn't look all that impressive to me." commented Max.

"That's usually how it goes with people who love bragging so much." said May.

"This battle is just the beginning." said Anthony. "All right, Pelipper, Vine Whip."

"Wait, what did he say?" asked Ash.

"What the? Riol?" asked Hayley and Meeko.

"Pelipper can't use Vine Whip." said Max.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper as Vine Whip comes out of its mouth.

"Whoa!"

"Pika. Riol."

"Dodge it now." said Ash.

"Treeck….Treecko." said Treecko as Vine Whip grabs its leg.

"Oh no." said Ash.

"Go, Pelipper." said Anthony. "Throw Treecko."

"Pelipper." it said, throwing Treecko around in a circle.

"Treecko." Treecko called out.

"Pelipper. Pelipper."

"Treecko." said Treecko as Pelipper lets go and hits the ground.

"Treecko, are you okay?" Ash asked.

"Looks like it's the end of the line for your Treecko." taunted Anthony.

"I never would've guessed that a Pelipper could use Vine Whip." said Brock.

"'Cause it can't. It's impossible." said Max.

"I agree." said Hayley.

"Pika. Riolu." said Pikachu and Meeko.

"Ha! What next, Ash?" asked Anthony. "I'll take on any Pokémon that you've got."

"Since you're using a flying type, I'll use one of my own." said Ash. "Okay, go, Taillow."

"Taillow." screeched Taillow.

"You go too, Pelipper." said Anthony.

"Pelipper."

"There's nothing faster in the air than my Taillow." said Ash.

"Taillow." Taillow said, agreeing with Ash.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, flying past Taillow, who then looks over its wing. "Pelipper." Pelipper chases Taillow in the sky.

"Pelipper."

"Taillow."

"Good work, Taillow." Ash said as Taillow flies behind Pelipper. "Now, right into a Peck Attack."

"Taillow."

"Nice try, Ash." said Anthony. "Now get a load of this Flamethrower."

"Flamethrower?" questioned Ash.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper as Flamethrower came out of its mouth.

Taillow cries out as Flamethrower was coming towards it. "Taillow!" it screamed, then falls to the ground.

"Taillow." said Ash as Taillow struggled to get up then passed out. "Are you okay?"

"No!" cried Max. "Not fire attacks too."

"That Pelipper is full of surprises, huh?" asked Brock.

"You said it." said Hayley.

"Riolu." Meeko added.

"Uh, Max." May said, a little concerned about her brother. "I thought you said Pelipper can only use flying and water attacks. Sounds like you need to study a little more."

"That's all it can use." said Max.

"He's right, May." said Hayley.

"He is?" she asked.

"I am?" asked Max.

"Yep. I know that some Pokémon can use other type moves because of being in the same egg groups as those of that type, but biologically speaking, Pelipper shouldn't be able to use Vine Whip or Flamethrower." said Hayley. "Those moves are not in Pelipper's egg group."

"Wow, Hayley. Did you learn that from Professor Oak?" asked Brock.

"I did. I asked him before we left for Johto." she said. "Meeko and I were curious."

"Riolu. Riol, Riol." Meeko tells Brock.

"You wanted to know about what kind of moves you can use and learn if it was possible for you, right?" Brock asked Meeko.

"Olu." said Meeko, nodding.

"Wow, I didn't know that." said May.

"Now you know." said Hayley.

"I don't get it." said Max. "What's the deal with this Pelipper. This is not supposed to be happening."

"Ready to give up yet, Ash?" asked Anthony. "No matter which Pokémon you use, yours or your sisters, the results are the same."

"There's no way that I'll ever give up." said Ash. "Pikachu, are you ready? Let's go!"

"Go, Pikachu!" said Hayley, giving the mouse a fist bump.

"Riolu!" said Meeko.

"Pika. Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu, running over to battle.

"Pikachu, there's no telling what attack Pelipper's gonna use." said Ash. "So just keep focused on it."

"Pika." said Pikachu.

"Pikachu, we're ready for you." said Anthony.

"Oh, come on." said Max. "It knows electric attacks too?"

"You seriously can't have electric attacks." said Hayley.

"Okay, Pelipper, let's go." said Anthony.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper when suddenly, Hayley and Meeko noticed something switching out in Pelipper's mouth.

"Pikachu, use Thunder Attack." said Ash.

"You too, Pelipper." said Anthony.

"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, releasing Thunder from its mouth.

"Pika!" screamed Pikachu as he was thrown back from the explosion.

"Pelipper!" screamed Pelipper.

"Pi." Pikachu said as he hits the ground.

"Pikachu, are you hurt, pal?" Ash asked as he, Hayley and Meeko ran towards him.

"Oh, no, Pelipper." said Anthony. "You needed a more powerful Pokémon…..I mean a more power attack against Pikachu. So you now know what it's like to battle against the world's most powerful Pokémon."

He scoffs and takes Pelipper inside. "Oh, Pikachu hand in there." said Ash.

"Let's get him to the Pokémon center right away." said Brock.

Outside of the walls, Team Rocket peeks in. "Did you see that?" asked Jessie.

"Yes, and what I'm thinking is if we had that Pelipper at our disposal, capturing Pikachu and Meeko would be a cinch." said James.

"Let me clear this up." said Jessie. "With the world's most powerful Pokémon, we wouldn't even need Pikachu and Meeko."

"She makes a good point." said Meowth.

"But there's one small problem with that kind of power." James tells them. "Overpowering the world's most powerful Pokémon requires a Pokémon with even more power than the first one."

"That means we'd have to catch a more powerful Pokémon than the most powerful Pokémon." said Meowth as an idea starts to form.

"And that means we'd need to catch one with more power than the one that's more powerful than the most powerful." said Jessie.

"Then we'd need a more powerful Pokémon than the more powerful…." Meowth said, trying to keep track when something happened. "I just bit my tongue."

"Hey, let's remember who we are and just do it." said Jessie.

"Okay, we'll just do it." said James and Meowth.

"Glad you see it my way." said Jessie, smiling. "Now put your heads together and come up with a plan."

"Wobbuffet." said Wobbuffet as the boys groaned.

"Come on, Pelipper, speak to me." Anthony said to his Pokémon. "Tell me that you're going to be okay."

"Pelipper." it said, turning to Anthony, who sighed in relief.

"Resistance is futile." said Meowth, gaining Anthony's attention. "Come out now."

"Pel, Pel, Pel." said Pelipper as it follows Anthony outside.

"Hear this: the Pokémon more powerful that the powerful….ow, I bit my tongue again." Meowth said through the loud speaker.

"Who is spouting all that nonsense." said Anthony.

"Prepare for trouble. We're Team Rocket. Hear us shout." said Jessie.

"And make it double. How's that for a spout?" said James.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all people within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket spouts off the truth at the speed of light!" said Jessie.

"Surrender now, I always say, or prepare to fight." said James.

"That's right!" said Meowth.

"Wobbuffet!" shouted Wobbuffet.

"Now relinquish that powerful Pelipper please." said Meowth.

"That will never happen." said Anthony. "Now, Pelipper, let's go."

"Pelipper. Pelipper."

As it flies towards Team Rocket, Team Rocket had a plan. "Quickly." said Jessie and James.

"Activating Poke-power play plan." said Jessie.

"More Powerful than Pelipper." added James.

"Don't get me started." said Meowth.

"Pelipper, Vine Whip." said Anthony.

"Pelip….per." said Pelipper, releasing its 'Vine Whip' on Team Rocket.

"Go, defense." said Meowth, activating a claw that came out of Team Rocket's wicker basket.

"Per! Pelipper, Pelipper, Pelipper…." said Pelipper as Team Rocket grabs the Vine Whip, pulling out a Bellsprout.

"Sprout." it said, pulling back its Vine Whip. Team Rocket screamed as Bellsprout fell to the ground.

"Bellsprout."

"Where'd that stinkin' Bellsprout come from?" asked Meowth.

"I wonder if Baby Twerp figured this out yet." James said, curiously, looking at Jessie.

"If she hasn't, she will soon. That's if we don't tell her." said Jessie.

"Uh-oh." said Anthony. "Flamethrower. No, no, no, Thunderbolt. No, no, no, Water Gun. Yes, that's it."

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, opening its mouth to release, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Water Gun. "Pelipper, Pelipper, Pel…."

"That Pelipper's having an identity crisis." said Meowth.

"Pelipper!" it squawked as something went in its mouth.

"So now's our chance." said Jessie.

"That potent Pelipper…." said James.

"Will be pinched." said Meowth.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper as Team Rocket grabs it by the leg, causing it to open its mouth and drop a few Pokémon.

"Magby."

"Magnemite."

"Ah!" Anthony said, now exposed.

"And what's this?" asked Jessie. "This is just plain dishonest."

"You had the nerve to fill Pelipper's beak with Pokéballs and parade it around like it's some sort of Polytech Pokémon?" asked James.

"And you thought you was gonna get away with that multi-attack approach?" asked Meowth. Anthony sighs in defeat as he falls to his knees.

"I didn't mean any harm." he said to Team Rocket. "I only wanted to have the world's most powerful Pokémon. Is that so very wrong?"

"You bet it is, rule breaker." said James.

"Filthy criminal." added Meowth.

"But a brilliant idea." said Jessie as both James and Meowth fell to the ground. "You were very good. You really had us going there for a while. I can't help but wonder what everyone will think when they find out."

"No, no, please not that." said Anthony. "The world's most powerful Pokémon legend should live."

"We can help you out with that, but you'll have to help us first." said Jessie.

"And you'd better pay attention, buster, if you know what's good for you." said James.

"'Cause when she's conniving like this, don't mess around." Meowth chimed in.

"Now that we understand each other, you can tell your Pelipper to do whatever we say." Jessie ordered Anthony.

"Guess I've no choice." said Anthony, then holds his Pelipper. "Dearest Pelipper, do whatever they say. Understand?"

"Pelipper." it said, nodding.

"Victory!" squealed Jessie.

"And not just in the Hoenn Region, but the entire world as well and well beyond." said James.

"The sky's the limit." said Meowth.

"Wobbuffet." Wobbuffet chimed in.

"Pelipper. Pel, Pel." said Pelipper, nuzzling into Anthony's side.

"Oh, Pelipper." said Anthony. At the Pokémon center, Ash stood by the doors while the others were sitting on a bench.

"It can't be." said Max, looking at the Hoenn handbook. "There's only certain kind of attacks that any type of Pokémon is able to use. (Groans) There's something wacky going on here, but I just can't figure it out."

"Just goes to show you that what you study is not always reality." said May. "Maybe this experience will bring you down a notch or two, brainiac."

"Think again, May." said Hayley.

"Huh?"

"It's like Hayley said, those attack movies aren't in the egg group for Pelipper." said Brock.

"You were serious about that?" May asked Hayley.

"I was. So be supportive of your little brother." Hayley tells her as she walks over to Ash.

"Yeah, May. I just know there's something fishy about that Pelipper." said Max, glaring at his sister.

"Yeah, how could someone possibly raise a certain type of Pokémon to be able to perform that many different kinds of attacks?" questioned Brock. He then looks up. "Huh?"

"Ash, your Pokémon are all rested up and fighting fit." said Nurse Joy, carrying Pikachu and the others out to Ash.

"Cool. Thanks a lot, Nurse Joy." said Ash.

"Pika, Pi." said Pikachu.

"Pikachu, you look great buddy." Ash tells him.

"Pikachu!" said Hayley, her arms wide open.

"Pika!" shouted Pikachu, climbing over Ash and into Hayley's arms.

"Come quick." said May, running up to the siblings. "Something terrible's happened."

"Huh?"

In the Pokémon center lobby, people became concerned. "I lost my Pokémon." said one person.

"What's wrong with all of these people?" asked Ash.

"They all battled the world's most powerful Pokémon and lost, and had their Pokémon taken away." explained Max.

"What?" asked Ash.

"Pika?" Pikachu asked.

"Really? Again?" asked Hayley.

"Riolu, Olu!" said Meeko.

"Hey, that's against the rules." said Nurse Joy.

"So now Anthony's started taking other people's Pokémon?" asked Ash.

"I don't think Anthony has anything to do with this." said Brock.

"How come?" Ash asked Brock.

"Ladies and gentlemen, step right up and test your skill." Jessie said to the crowd.

"Beat the world's most powerful Pokémon and win any Pokémon that your little heart desires." said James. "And you can battle with any of your Pokémon that you'd like. But if you happen to lose to our powerful Pelipper, then we will keep your Pokémon."

"Take a chance." said Jessie. "No trainer should miss this opportunity to put his Pokémon to the test."

"The truth is you got nothing to gain and everything to lose." said Meowth.

"Shh." James shushed the cat. "They've got everything to gain and nothing to lose."

"Okay." said Meowth.

"Hey there, handsome, big, strong guy. Why don't you try a battle?" Jessie asked a random trainer.

"Fine." he said, walking up. "Why don't you try and beat my Zigzagoon?"

Team Rocket laughs, proud of their scheme. "Zigzagoon, go!" said the trainer, calling out his Pokémon.

"Zigzagoon."

"Pelipper, go." said James.

"Pelipper." it said.

"Zigzag." said Zigzagoon.

"Razor Leaf, now." said James.

"Pelipper."

"What?" asked Zigzagoon's trainer, seeing Razor Leaf come out of Pelipper's mouth,

"Now use Flamethrower." said James.

"Pel."

"What's the deal?" asked Zigzagoon's trainer.

"Finish with thunder." said Jessie.

"Pel." said Pelipper.

"Oh, no." said Zigzagoon's trainer as his Pokémon was hit and he ran out of the gym. "My Zigzagoon."

"Thanks for playing." said Meowth, waving to the trainer. "Huh? Not them."

Meowth sees the quintet running towards him. "We're good. We're very good." said Jessie and James, holding Pokéballs in their hands when Meowth appears.

"We got to scram." Meowth tells them. "The twerps are coming."

"Fine. Our work is done here." said James.

"No, let's stay." said Jessie. "Now's our chance to catch that Pikachu and Meeko."

"Perhaps you're right." said James.

"Yeah, but just think about how many times that twerp and his sister beaten us." said Meowth.

"Well, the odds have changed with the help pf a few extra Pokéballs." said Jessie, tossing several Pokéballs into Pelipper's mouth.

"Wait, too many Pokéballs and Pelipper'll get confused." warned Meowth.

"So maybe we need an air traffic controller." suggested James.

"A battle director." suggested Jessie.

"Right." said James, then they looked at Meowth. "You'll do."

"Ah, no, not me." said Meowth, then Jessie and James picked him up. "Stop. You're out of you minds!"

"In you go." said Jessie, placing Meowth inside Pelipper's mouth.

"Hey. I don't want to do this job." said Meowth, glaring at Jessie.

"But how could you turn this down?" she asked.

"You know everybody wants to be a director." said James.

"And just think, Meowth, you'll be the brains behind the world's most powerful Pokémon." added Jessie.

"I like the sound of that." Meowth said in awe, slightly blushing. "World's most powerful Pokémon."

"Hey, you." said Ash as he and the others came onto the property. "Give back all of the Pokémon you took from those people."

"Yeah! Those Pokémon are not yours to keep." said Hayley.

"Wait, where'd they go?" asked Ash.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, appearing on the field.

"Look, guys." said Ash. "It's that Pelipper. But where's your trainer Anthony?"

"Hayley …." said Max.

"Yes, Max." she said.

"Think those are Pokéballs in its mouth?" he asked.

"Definitely." replied Hayley, nodding her head.

"Riolu. Olu." said Meeko.

"I agree with that, Meeko." said Max. "I think Pelipper could get sick that way."

"When Meeko's right about something, she usually is." said Brock.

"Yeah…that's one too many in its mouth." said Hayley. "I would be sick if I was a Pelipper."

"That loser?" Jessie asked, clearly not hearing what the others said. "He decided on an early retirement."

"Which means Pelipper is now our prized possession." said James.

"Uh-huh. Did he give Pelipper to you willingly or did you take it by force?" asked Hayley.

"Riol?" Meeko asked, looking around for Meowth.

"Hayley's right. No way that Anthony would Pelipper to anyone." said Ash.

"Impossible." agreed Brock.

"Now, if you want everyone's Pokémon cheerfully refunded, you'll have to battle us first." said Jessie.

"But if you lose, then we get to keep your Pikachu and Riolu." said James.

"Riolu!" said Meeko, hugging Hayley.

"I don't trust these guys." said May. "Something weird about 'em."

"They've been weird since day one, May." said Hayley, knowing Team Rocket well.

"But we can't let them get away with this." said Max.

"Right, and that's why I'm gonna battle them and win back everyone's Pokémon." said Ash.

"Pika, Pika." said Pikachu.

"Pelipper, go on out there." said Jessie.

"Pelipper." it said, flying out onto the field.

"Pikachu, go." said Ash.

"Pika."

"You do realize that if you lose, you're losing not just Pikachu, but Meeko to Team Rocket, right?" asked Hayley.

"Uh…." said Ash.

"Really? Is this why you keep me around?" asked Hayley, raising an eyebrow. "To keep track of Team Rocket? I don't even know you anymore."

"That's Ash for ya." said Brock.

"Yep." said Hayley.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, struggling to stay in the air.

"Let's see." Meowth said in Pelipper's mouth, looking for a Pokémon to use. "Bellsprout, you're up."

"Bell…" said Bellsprout.

"Okay, now use Vine Whip." Meowth tells it.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper as Vine Whip came out of its mouth.

"Pika." Pikachu said, jumping out of the way.

"I'm not falling for the same trick twice." said Ash.

"Pel?" asked Pelipper.

"Go, Magby now use your Smoke Screen." said Meowth, pointing Magby way from his face.

"Pelipper." said Pelipper, opening its mouth to release Magby's Smoke Screen.

"Pika." Pikachu said, coughing from the Smoke Screen.

"Magby." cried Magby as it and Meowth coughed inside.

"Enough of that." said Meowth.

"Magby." it said as Meowth grabs it for Bellsprout.

"Razor Leaf now." ordered Meowth.

"Pelipper."

"Pikachu." Pikachu said, running away from the Razor Leaf.

"You're looking very good, Pelipper." said Jessie.

"Yes, excellent work, Meowth." said James, then realized his mistake. "Um, I mean Pelipper."

"Pi, Pi, Pi…." said Pikachu dodging Razor Leaf. "Pika."

"Go, Pikachu. Hang in there." said May.

"We know you can do it." said Brock.

"I'm gonna figure out what's going on here." Max thought to himself as he runs off away from the others.

"Pelipper." Pelipper said as it took a dive at Pikachu. "Pelipper."

"How do you like that?" asked Meowth, then grabs Magby. "For my next trick….a healthy dose of Flamethrower." Once Flamethrower was used, Magby looks back at Meowth, seeing that he got burned. "So that's why they say never play with fire."

Inside the building, Max wonders around, looking for evidence. "There's not a Pokémon alive who can do all that." Max thought. "It's got to be a trick." Just then, Max hears muffled yelling coming from a room, next to him. "Huh?"

He then opens the door and sees Anthony tied up. "Oh, hey, Anthony." said Max.

"Pika. Pika!" said Pikachu, running around the gym field as Flamethrower and Razor Leaf kept going after him.

"There's got to be some way I can fight back." said Ash.

"Otherwise, I will never forgive you." said Hayley.

"I've just got to think of it." Ash said to himself, knowing that Hayley was right.

"Hey, Ash." Max called out, causing Ash to turn his attention. "I told you there was something fishy going on."

"I'm sorry. This whole thing is my fault." said Anthony.

"Huh?"

"What is he talking about?" asked May.

"Uh-oh." said Jessie.

"He's gonna spill the beans, Jess." said James.

"That's if baby twerp doesn't spill it first." she tells him.

"In case you haven't noticed," Hayley said as she demonstrated on Pelipper. "Anthony's Pelipper has one too many Pokéballs inside its mouth, caused by Team Rocket. I'm assuming that Meowth is in Pelipper's mouth with the Pokéballs?"

"Uh…yeah." said Jessie and James, hanging their heads in defeat.

"He'll need a bath." said Hayley, looking at Pelipper.

"Come on, Meowth, do something." Jessie called out.

"Oh, man." said Meowth, looking at the Pokéballs around him. "Well, that's easier said than done. I got it. A stroke of sheer brilliance. First, I'll use a water attack to soak Pikachu through and through, then I'll zap it with an electric attack from Magnemite for some serious damage. Let's see, there's got to be a water Pokémon around here somewhere."

Meowth digs through the Pokéball pile until he realizes something. "Oh, of course." he said, then scratched his head. "This Pelipper is a water Pokémon. So Pelipper, use Water Gun Attack now."

"Pel." said Pelipper, releasing its Water Gun.

"Pika!" screamed Pikachu as he, Hayley, Meeko and Ash dive separately. May and Brock screamed as Water Gun was aimed at them, so was Anthony and Max.

Team Rocket laughed at their misery until water fell on them. "Meowth, you're supposed to be in control." Jessie said angrily.

"I think my directing went in the wrong direction." he tells her as he looks down at the water beneath him. "Ah!"

Team Rocket screams again, their plan was ruined, no thanks to Meowth as Pokémon and Pokéballs came out of Pelipper's mouth. "This mean I'm fired?" groaned Meowth.

"It's Team Rocket and Meowth." said Brock.

"What's going on?" asked Ash.

"Ash, I found out that Anthony was keeping a bunch of Pokéballs inside of Pelipper's mouth." explained Max.

"And I had to do what Team Rocket wanted so they wouldn't give away my secret." said Anthony.

"Okay, I'll admit it." Ash said to Hayley. "I don't keep you around just to keep track of Team Rocket."

"That's all I need to hear, Ash." said Hayley.

"Truth be told, that sounds like something those guys would do." said Ash.

"So big deal." Meowth said to Ash. "Who cares if you know?"

"Yeah, its history." said Jessie.

"So are we." said James.

"Come back." demanded Ash as Team Rocket flees in their balloon.

"We're going home to deck the halls…." said James.

"With this bulging bag of Pokéballs." said Meowth.

"Oh, no, you're not." said Anthony. "Go, Pelipper. Get back those Pokémon."

"Pelipper." it said, determined to get back the Pokéballs. "Pelipper."

"Huh?"

"Pel."

Pelipper cuts through the rope, releasing the Pokéballs from Team Rocket's basket, causing them to scream. "Gotcha!" said the quintet.

"Stealing those Pokéballs took a lot of hard work." said James.

"Times like this, there's only one thing to do." said Jessie.

"Right." said the Team Rocket Trio.

"Our anti-Pikachu…." Jessie said.

"Electricity defense…." said James.

"Is now in place." said Meowth. "Time to implement the Pikachu and Meeko capture plan. Go!"

"No, you don't." said Ash. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt 'em."

"Meeko, help him out with Vacuum Wave." said Hayley.

"Pikachu."

"Riolu!"

"Ha!" said Team Rocket as both attacks bounced off.

"Oh!"

"They upgraded." said Hayley.

"A good team always has a strong defense." Jessie taunted them.

"A strong rubber coating helps." said James.

"Electrically speaking, that means twerp poof." said Meowth. "And I appreciate the whole Vacuum wave upgrade."

"Wobba." said Wobbuffet.

"All right, we got to think of something quick." said Ash.

"We need to find some way for the electricity to get through." said Max.

"Meeko….how are your biting skills?" asked Hayley, turning to her partner.

"Riol…Riolu." said Meeko, thinking for a moment, unsure if her move would rip their outfits.

"What if we cover it with water?" May asked.

"That's it. Water conducts electricity." said Brock. "Anthony? Hayley?"

"Right, Brock, leave it to us." said Anthony. "Go, Pelipper. Use Water Gum on the balloon."

"You got it, Brock." said Hayley. "Meeko, use Copycat!"

"Pelipper!" said Pelipper, releasing Water Gun from its mouth.

"Riolu!" shouted Meeko, blue energy surrounding her body and uses Water Gun. Both attacks drenched the side of the balloon, only causing Team Rocket to use umbrella.

"If you think a little water can stop us, well, then, you're all wet." said Jessie.

"This is a clean getaway." said Meowth and uses the rubber hand to get Pikachu and Meeko.

"All right, Pikachu. Use Thunder Attack." said Ash.

"Pika." said Pikachu, running towards Team Rocket.

"Hold on." said Jessie as she watched Pikachu. "Didn't someone say water conducts electricity?"

"Chu!" shouted Pikachu, releasing another round of his Thunderbolt onto Team Rocket.

"That they did." said James. "Correct."

"But that don't mean they were right." said Meowth.

"You don't know that, Meowth…." Hayley said in a sing-song tone as Team Rocket screams and their balloon explodes.

"Now we know water does conduct electricity." said Jessie.

"It looks like we were wrong again." said James.

"A shocking conclusion." said Meowth.

"Well…We're blasting off again!" shouted Team Rocket. Ash opens up the bag with Pokéballs.

"They're all there." said Ash. "Now, we'll be able to give all those people back their Pokéballs."

"That's great, and I sure ow you folks a big apology." said Anthony.

"Your battling strategy might of been a teeny bit shady." said Max.

"I know I wouldn't use it." said Hayley.

"But when the going gets tough, you are one great team player." said Max.

"He's right about that, Anthony." said Brock.

"And your Pelipper really is strong." said Ash. "If you two keep working together, it'll get even stronger."

"You know what?" asked Anthony. "You're right. And I'm going to train my Pelipper to really be the world's strongest Pokémon. Where there's a will, there's always a way."

"You're right about that." said Ash, shaking his hand.

"Thanks, Ash." said Anthony.

"Wow, this Pokémon stuff gets better all the time." said May.

"Pika. Riol. Pelipper."

Narrator: A legend of the world's most powerful Pokémon may have just been an illusion, but the friendship and comradery between trainers and Pokémon is as real as it gets.

Hayley: Like me and Meeko?

Max: Or me and my first Pokémon?

Narrator: Exactly. And now, our heroes continue their journey towards Rustboro City.
