Miroku cleared his throat, "Before you take our friend away, might I have a word?"

Sesshomaru would allow him this. She had no father, and his brother was gone, not that he would ever allow Inuyasha to speak for her. Miroku had her best interest at heart, and so he bowed his head and let Kagome's hand go and followed after the monk.

The two men stood face to face."I can't help but notice,"

"Notice," Sesshomaru cut him off, running his sharp claws through his silken hair. "You see only what I allow, monk,"

"Yes, and I assume you are allowing me to see these hints for a reason, I assume?"

"I figured you would understand clearly,"

"I think I understand clearly, but just for argument's sake, why dont you tell me so that there are no misunderstandings," because that was easy to do with Sesshomaru.

"I am taking her with me,"

"And protecting her,"

"As I have stated,"

"To what end?"

Sesshomaru's golden eyes searched Miroku's. Miroku was a calm man when we wanted to be. He had wisdom in him and was a capable human when it came down to it.

"My desires are my own,"

"Ah yes, but does that not also require them to be hers as well,"

So, he did understand.

"I will not force her,"

"Just to be clear, you want Kagome for yourself,"

"Clearly," Not do clearly to anyone but them.

Miroku stared at him. "Can I ask?"

"You can ask, but that does not mean I will indulge you,"

"Fair enough; when did this happen?"

"It does not matter when,"

"Just that it did," Miroku smiled slightly,

Sesshomaru's chin lifted slightly, his golden eyes narrowing slightly at the man before him.

"She is human; I am rather shocked; having a ward is one thing,"

"Kagome is neither a demon nor human," Sesshomaru answered, and it was the first time Miroku had ever heard her name out of the demon's mouth. "She is in a category of her own,"

Miroku crossed his arms. "I will not disagree with you," But he sighed. "Inuyasha has just died,"

"As I am aware, monk,"

Miroku unfolded his arms and turned. "She deserves happiness,"

"It would have never been with him,"

Miroku looked down. "No, I suppose it wouldn't have," He looked back at Sesshomaru. "He was in love with Kikyo, but Kagome was in love with him,"

There was a great pause before Miroku spoke again, "And you..."

Sesshomaru moved to walk back; he had indulged the monk enough, and the man was taking a mile with the inch he was given.

He moved swiftly like always, grabbing her hand again. "Come," He said, and then he looked at the child. "Rin,"

The child smiled and ran up to the demon Lord and waited.

It was decided that Shippo, who really wasn't a child like Rin, would go back to his kind and start training.

So Sango waved as Kagome waved, and the demon Lord set out with his two humans following behind him.

"I feel like im missing something," Sango whispered,

Miroku sighed but smiled."He will protect her,"

Sango eyed him. "Miroku,"

He looked at her."It is ironic,"

"What?"

"Inuyasha loved a Miko, a Miko from the future loved him, and A demon Lord once hell-bent on killing the future is now in love with her,"

Sango looked back at the spot the demon Lord and Kagome had been at a moment before "Sesshomaru and Kagome?" She asked, shocked,

"If he gets what he desires,"

"But-"

"He will take his take time; after all, they have plenty of it; you and I, however, do not,"

She raised an eyebrow, and he rubbed his hands together. "Sango, my dear," He grabbed her hands. "Let us go home and make babies!"

That night, Miroku and Sango would get what they desired most, one another and Sesshomaru was one step closer to getting what he desired most.

Kagome.
