Warlock finished talking and allowed Maverick to take the spotlight. "Alright, team." He said, "You guys know how hard a mission is. You know that you can accomplish a mission. This new mission is harder than any one you've ever flown; combined. The threat to the U.S. is involving nuclear warfare. There's a bunker hidden around three miles below the surface, of here," he paused, turning to a screen next to him and pointing at the image of a mountain. "Our job is to fly in, spy out the area, take the main guns out, defuse the nuclear weapons, and get out of there. I'm not 100% certain if we'll make it out alive. It's a heavily guarded place."

Maverick paused again and looked into the eyes of the Daggers. "I tested and pushed you to your limits this past mission. We're going to do it again. But this time it's going to be a lot harder. This time I'm going to try and push you out of your limits, further. It's going to be taxing mentally and physically. I know what you can do, you know what you can do, we call know what each and every one of us can do. So, let's build off of that. Keep building higher and higher. This training is split into 3 weeks practicing dogfights, flight patterns, and so on. Two of these weeks is studying our enemy, the territory, each other so that we can help out where possible. And during the whole five weeks, we're also going to focus on your mental and physical strengths. From 0500 to 2100. It's going to be tough, but I believe in you, and I need you to believe in yourselves."

Maverick finished his little speech, gazing hard at the Daggers. "Understood?"

"Yes, sir!"

Maverick nodded. "Good. I'm going to hand each of you a folder, it has the mission info and what you're going to do. Remember, this is classified information, and for your eyes only."

He walked around, handing out folders. He paused at Bob's seat, handing him the folder. "Bob…Robert." He spoke softly, keeping the conversation between the two of them alone. "Like I said, this is going to be really hard. I want to make sure you're going to be okay with this. If anything happens, I'm going to pull you out so you can be safe." He looked into Bob's eyes.

Bob frowned, "I appreciate that you care about my welfare, Mav. But I can do this. I made it through the Academy just fine, even if there were a few hiccups along the way. Please, don't pull me out. I can do this, just give me a chance."

Maverick's eyes softened slightly, "Alright. I like that fire in you, Robert. It's strong."

Bob nodded, jaw set. Maverick clapped his hand on Bob's shoulder before moving on. Bob opened the folder sitting on his table/desk and started reading it.
