Overview
This is my first Meet The Robinsons inspired story. I currently have plans for about 10 chapters. But, this story will probably have around 25 chapters when complete. I guess time will tell. The events of this story will line up with the events and time line of the film.
As for the science/inventing side of things, I will be drawing heavily from my experience with robotics and engineering type projects in high school. I'll try my best, but be warned: The science may not be completely accurate or detailed.
This story begins where the film left off at the science fair in 2007. I am assuming Cornelius to be 12 years old with Franny and Goob being two years younger than him in 2007. Each chapter will have a date and year listed.
This first chapter is a short prologue that provides context for the following chapters.
Feel free to comment and provide feedback. I would love to know what you think and hear suggestions.
Finally, check out my profile for progress updates on this story and others. I update it at least once every week, usually around Saturday!
Enjoy!
Prologue
Date: Saturday, May 12, 2007. 3:00 P.M.
Those glacier blue eyes. They had softened from their regular sharpness. They were alert, intelligent, and welcoming. Despite being hidden behind a pair of slightly crooked, smudgy glasses, they were, without a doubt, the most wonderful things I'd seen that day. Actually, more like all week or even month for that matter.
But most importantly, their gaze fell upon me.
"No, I think you're right!"
My mind momentarily snapped back to reality. I was still at the science fair. However, the frustrating and highly embarrassing scene of Frankie escaping me had faded away. The room was abuzz and full of energy. I was suddenly surrounded by teachers, scientists, and newspaper reporters.
And in front of me was the one and only person to believe in my crazy idea. But he was not just the only one to believe in me. He was the only person in the world who could help me turn it into reality. My heart nearly exploded at the thought!
My eyes and mind continued to drift...
I couldn't help but admire those two, blue gems, that perfect smile, and the vertical stalk of blond hair in front of me. He was smart... AND cute. Really, could this day get any better?
My thoughts were once again broken up as a tall, deep voiced reporter spoke to my left. "Kid, we'd like to get a story on you for the local paper. You've got a bright future ahead of you." Then, with the most satisfied expression, the boy calmly replied, "Yeah."
It was at that moment that I knew. I had to become a part of this future.
HIS future.
A huge grin immediately spread to both sides of my face.
OUR future.
