Chapter 3: The Schnee Family

Zhen's POV:

I have been wandering around this strange place for a while. I don't know where I am. I have been separated from my wives for a couple of days. My wife, Lana, and I have run away from home because we have reached our breaking point with the abuse. My other wife, Chameleon has been abusing me for as long as I can remember. Chameleon forced me to marry her as part of her revenge for me betraying her.

Lana is in the same position as me. She is married to two of her abusive husbands, Miguel and Tai Lung. Lana and I have been desperate to get out of this abuse. One night the abuse got really bad and we had no choice but to run away. I have been in this strange place for a few weeks now. Po and Lana must be so worried right now. I started thinking about the night Lana and I ran away.

*Flashback*

Lana and I have been talking about getting a divorce from our abusive spouses for some time now. We decided that tonight was the night to get a divorce because we couldn't take it anymore. I walked downstairs with Lana, holding her hand tightly. My heart pounded in my chest. I know how they will react. They are going to be pissed but we at least have to try or it's going to get worse.

When we got downstairs, we saw Chameleon, Miguel, and Tai Lung in the living room. I looked at Lana nervously. Lana promised me she would do the talking. Lana took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Miguel, Tai Lung, and Chameleon. We have endured your abuse for too long. Zhen and I demand a divorce!" Lana yelled.

"A divorce," Miguel spat.

"Yes!" Lana shouted. "And if you don't we won't hesitate to get the police involved."

I got nervous when Chameleon walked up to me. Chameleon gripped my chin tightly. "You said you wanted a divorce? After all I have done for you?" Chameleon said.

"Y-Yes," I said nervously.

"Well let me tell you, that is not going to happen. Remember who is in charge here," Chameleon said, her grip on my chin tightening.

"The same goes for you, Lana. You will never get a divorce from us," Tai Lung said.

"Fuck you guys!" Lana yelled.

"That does it," Tai Lung growled. Tai Lung raises his paw and scratches her face. Lana's scar on her right eye opened up and started to bleed again. I barely dodged one of Chameleon's attacks. Lana grabbed my hand and we ran out of the house. Just as we were getting far, Miguel grabbed Lana and held her back.

"Lana!" I cried.

"Go, Zhen! Run!" Lana shouted.

"But I can't leave you like this," I said, with tears in my eyes.

"Just go! I'll be fine!" Lana shouted back. I saw Chameleon running after me. I knew I had no choice but to leave Lana behind. As I ran, I could hear Lana's screams as she was being dragged back inside by her cruel husband. Once I got to a safe place, I sat down on a bench and began to cry. I can't help but think that this is all my fault. Lana is in danger because of me. I knew Chameleon would be looking for me, so I had to keep going. But I needed to rest for a bit. Just one small nap shouldn't hurt. I lay down and let the darkness of sleep take over me.

*End of Flashback*

When I woke up, I noticed that I was not on the streets anymore. I was lying in a bed in what looked like to be someone's office. The office was blue, with blue colors and blue walls. There were bookshelves leaning against the walls and a big desk in front of the big windows. I sat up to take a look at my surroundings better.

I noticed a golden plate on the desk with a name that was written in bold letters:

General James Ironwood

Who was that? I had no idea. First, I had to figure out where I was and how to get back to Lana and Po.

"Hello?" I called out. "Is anyone there?"

Just then a door opened. Inside a woman and a man walked inside. The man had black hair, blue eyes and wore white and blue clothing with a red tie. The woman had white and blue clothes, wore a white coat, and had white hair and icy blue eyes.

"Oh, good. You're awake," The man said.

"Who are you? Where am I?" I asked.

"You are in Atlas. I'm General Ironwood," The man said.

"And I am Winter Schnee. Head Operative of the Atlas Military," The woman said.

"What happened to me?" I asked.

"We found you passed out on the streets so we brought you here," Winter explained. Oh, I must have passed out when I was thinking of the previous events that took place and I did not realize it. My eyes widened when I thought of Lana again.

"Lana! Where is she?!" I cried.

"Who is that, if you don't mind me asking?" Ironwood asked me.

"Lana is my wife. We ran away to escape from an abusive situation at home," I explained. Winter's expression saddened.

"I'm sorry," Winter said. Winter offered me her sympathy.

"Zhen me, and Winter have some things to discuss. You can have a snack and feel free to look around while you await our return," Ironwood said.

"Thank you," I said. Winter handed me a plate of cookies and some coffee. When Winter and Ironwood left I snacked on the cookies eagerly as I had not had anything to eat in a long time. When I finished, I looked around in the office. My eyes took sight of the beautiful city below me. Atlas was a shining bright blue color. There was another city down below. I don't know what that city is but it looked like Atlas floating above that city down below.

As I was admiring the view, I heard General Ironwood and Winter walk into the room. I turned to face their direction.

"So. How are you liking Atlas?" Ironwood asked me.

"It's beautiful," I said. Ironwood chuckled.

"I'm glad you think so," He said.

"I have a question. What is that city below Atlas?" I asked, pointing below the floating city of Atlas.

"That is Mantle," Ironwood said.

"Woah," I said, my eyes widening with amazement.

"Zhen. Would you like to come home with me?" Winter asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused at her question.

"I mean that you can become a part of my family. Until you find yours, you can stay with me for a bit," Winter said.

"Really? You mean that?" I asked.

"Of course. I have decided to adopt you as my daughter," Winter said. I said nothing and ran up to Winter to hug her. Winter hugged me back. For the first time in a long time, it feels like I have finally found a real family.

"Here are the adoption papers," Ironwood said as he handed the adoption papers to Winter. Winter signed the adoption papers. And just like that, Winter is now my mother. Winter took hold of my hand.

"Are you ready to go home?" Winter asked.

"Yes!" I said excitedly. With that, we left the office and went to my new home together.

"Winter?" I asked as we were making our way home.

"Yes?" Winter said.

"Is it okay if I call you mom? Since you have adopted me?" I asked.

"Of course," Winter said.

"Thank you… Mom," I said. When we got home, I looked up at our new house with amazement. The house was a huge mansion with lots of rooms. The walls seemed to stretch on forever. It looked more amazing on the inside. The entrance was beautiful with blue rugs and a grand staircase.

"Winter!" I heard a girls voice shout. I looked up and saw the girl running down the stairs. The girl had white hair and a white skirt on. The girl had blue eyes, just like Winter.

"I'm so glad you're home!" The girl said, hugging Winter. Winter hugged her back. Who was she?

"Weiss, meet your new sister, Zhen," Winter said. "Zhen, this is my sister, Weiss."

"Hi, Weiss…" I said a bit nervously.

"Zhen came from an abusive home so she may be shy," Winter said. For some reason, Weiss was not fond of me. Weiss glared at me when our eyes met.

"Are you fucking serious?! A fucking Faunus ?!" Weiss yelled. Winter slapped Weiss hard across her face. Faunus? What is that?

"That's enough, you brat! Zhen is not a Faunus! You will do well to welcome her into our home. She is your sister now and you will treat her with respect," Winter said firmly. Weiss shot me a dirty look.

Weiss leaned in my ear and whispered, "You deserved that abuse, you filthy animal. You have no shame for what you did to my family. You will never be a part of my family and you will certainly not be my sister," Weiss then put her head down before Winter noticed.

"It may take some time for Weiss to open up to you. She doesn't exactly trust the Faunus," Winter explained.

"Why? And what is a Faunus?" I asked.

"Faunus are a species different from humans. Faunus look like humans but they are not humans. Faunus have one type of animal trait on their bodies," Winter explained.

"Am I- am I a Faunus?" I asked.

"No. You're a full animal. Not Faunus," Winter said.

"Why does Weiss hate them then?" I asked.

"Because they have been at war with our family for years. There is a terrorist organization group called the White Fang. The White Fang is a group of Faunus that kills a lot of people and steals dust from us, often attacking our trains," Winter explained. I was left speechless. That is an awful thing to do. I used to steal because Chameleon raised me but now I stopped because of Po and Lana. I need to show Weiss that I am not like Faunus so she can trust me more.

Just then, I heard footsteps and three more people walked down the stairs. One was a stern-looking man with white hair and a mustache with white clothing. The other woman looked depressed. She had white and purple clothing on with a hat. The other one looked like a brat. He wore blue and white clothing. All of them had white hair and blue eyes.

"What is with all of that shouting?" The woman said.

"Mom. Father. Whitley. Meet my new daughter, Zhen," Winter said. "Zhen. This is your grandparents. Willow, Jauques, and your Uncle Whitley."

Whitley was the first one to walk up to me. "Hello, my dear niece. I'll have to say it is a great pleasure to have you be a part of the family," Whitley said. Whitley smiled at me. Maybe he wasn't as bad as Weiss.

"Winter? What is this filthy creature doing here? She is not welcome here. And I most certainly did not give you my permission to adopt her!" Jacques shouted.

"In case you have not forgotten, Father. I do not live here anymore. And I do not have to ask you for permission," Winter said firmly. Jacques just rolled his eyes. I wondered why the Schnee family did not like me. Well, except for Winter and Whitley.

"I think it's nice that Winter adopted someone," Willow said. Willow walked up to me. "Hello, Zhen. Welcome to our family. Please, make yourself at home."

"I do not approve of this!" Jacques yelled.

Winter just ignored him and said, "Zhen, you can go to your room now. Weiss will show it to you. I need to talk with Mother and Father," Winter said.

"Okay, Mom," I said.

"Come on," Weiss said impatiently. I stayed far behind Weiss as I followed her to my new room. When we got to my new room, Weiss opened the door and led me inside. Weiss didn't say anything as she left. I looked around the room. The room was big and it had a huge bookshelf that stretched along the walls. My bed was a queen-sized bed with elegant sheets. There was a TV leaning against the wall with a desk in the corner of the room. There was a vanity on the right side of my bed and a nightstand on the other. I love my new room and my new mother. But I don't like my grandfather or my sister, Weiss. I began to cry as I thought of Lana again. Wherever you are right now, Lana, I hope you are doing okay. After an hour, I was called down for dinner. I went down to the dining area and took a seat next to Winter and Willow.

Winter was the first one to speak. "Zhen. I've talked with Mother and Father. And they have agreed to adopt you too," Winter said. My eyes widened.

"Wait, really?!" I shouted, happily. Maybe grandfather had a change of heart. I leaned into Winter's ear. "But how did you convince him? I thought he hated me."

"He still does. But I threatened him with a divorce if he did not agree to adopt you," Willow whispered in my ear.

"Oh…" I said.

"Well, I still would like to be a part of you're family," I said.

"Of course. We just need to sign more papers. We will take care of that tomorrow, though," Willow said.

"Okay, thanks!" I said happily. Even though Jaques and Weiss were not fond of me and were all warm-hearted, I was still happy to be family with Willow, Winter, and Uncle Whitley. And no matter what, I will do everything it takes to find my wife.

A/N: Hey everyone, welcome to chapter 3 of my RWBY fanfic. I just wanted to say really quick, I will get to my Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Kung Fu Panda story but my main focus is RWBY right now because I want to get the first few chapters out first before Roosterteeth shuts down on May 15th. After that, I will get back to working on my other stories for a little while before I get back to this story again.

Also another thing, Zhen is a character from the new Kung Fu Panda 4 movie and I do not own Zhen, the only character I own is Lana. Zhen is one of my favorite characters from the movie and I really enjoyed writing a chapter that focuses on her. The next chapter will be mainly focused on Zhen too but after that, we return to Lana, Ruby, and Yang. I'm so excited to be writing this story further on in the future and as always please leave a review and please do not criticize the adopting thing, it's just one of my plans in the story. If you do not like, then do not read it and keep your mean comments to yourself!

Let's all be nice to each other and have a good day! Stay tuned for the next chapter!
