Kakashi returned to his apartment after visiting Itachi, he planned to write a letter to someone who he thought could help him with something. He remembered having a conversation with Jiraiya that involved three students he trained at Amegakure, and one of them being Konan. Now maybe she just so happened to have the same name, but without Jiraiya how would Kakashi know for certain? And Tobi was not described as one of Jiraiya's students, but there was this hidden darkness beneath that mask. What it was could be a number of things, but the results were still the same. Tobi was not to be trusted, no matter what.

As sunset came and after taking some of Madara's advice, Obito bought a box of dango. He arrived an hour before he was supposed to, he mostly did this because he hated being late. He leaned against the side of the house holding his box of dango.

Much akin to Obito, Kakashi arrived at the same time to Asuma's house. He was still wearing his Jounin uniform, but he didn't wear his headband.

Obito could see the scar that Kakashi had gotten because of him, and Obito had unlocked his Sharingan and Mangekyou because of Kakashi.

"Seems we both like to arrive on time, eh Tobi?" Kakashi asked as he walked up to the house.

Tobi shrugged, "Tobi just doesn't like being last."

Kakashi leaned up against the house near Tobi, he noticed the box he held. "I'm assuming that's not a box of flowers for a pretty girl you have in mind?"

Obito was caught off guard by Kakashi's question, "Why would he say something like that?"

Tobi waved the box in front of Kakashi's face, "It's a box of dango, that I brought for Asuma-senpai."

Kakashi chuckled, "Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Asuma's already dating Kurenai."

Tobi narrowed his eye, "Not in that way. I heard that people give gifts to hosts for parties, so I thought I could do something small like that."

"Oh, I assumed so. I just couldn't help but make a joke at your expense."

Just then Asuma walked up to the house holding two paper bags of drinks and snacks. He noticed Kakashi and Tobi, "I thought we planned not to meet at my house for another hour?"

Kakashi shrugged, "Can't be late if we arrive before then."

Asuma sighed, "Alright, just help me set up before the others get here." Kakashi and Tobi walked toward Asuma and grabbed a paper bag each. Now with two free hands, Asuma pulled out his pair of house keys and unlocked the door. He twisted the handle and pushed the door, "After you." Asuma said to Kakashi.

The three boys began setting up the party by moving furniture around in the living room and getting some plates and cups out, along with pulling out some card games. Tobi was busy pulling the dining room chairs into the living room so they had more seats. Kakashi was busy in the kitchen arranging snacks. And Asuma made sure the house was as clean as possible and then took a smoke break. He started smoking after his mother died during the nine tails attack, and ever since then he and his father were distant.

Obito finished moving the chairs and noticed a cabinet with several pictures of the Third Hokage, Asuma, his brother, and his mother. Obito recognized the woman as she helped deliver Kushina and Minato's son.

Asuma noticed Tobi's eye lingering at the cabinet full of past memories. "Did you have a family before the Orochimaru thing? Sorry, I overheard my dad mention it."

Obito continued to stare at the pictures, "No. I've never had a family and that's how it's always been." Tobi said nonchalantly, "Though I wonder if I would've been happy with a family?"

Asuma didn't know how to react, he knew that the man standing next to him was emotionally scarred but he did nothing to comfort the masked goofball.

Kakashi carried trays into the dining room and placed them on the table, "Well, questions like that cannot be answered. Just thoughts of what ifs can fill that void, but if you're not careful you'll be consumed by it."

Asuma didn't know what to do as he stared at his mother's picture. Asuma sighed as he tried making any bit of conversation to get away from his grief, "Is there anything I should know about you, Tobi?"

Tobi turned, "Well if you wanna know. I am also carrying an empty wallet. I paid the price for being polite by purchasing a kimono for Kono-chan. Those things are priced poorly."

This caused Asuma to chuckle, "Just wait till you're dating her, you'll have a permanent hole carved through your wallet."

Tobi's cheeks seemed to light up underneath the mask, "We're not dating. We're just two acquaintances of the opposite gender."

Kakashi walked by the two and into the living room, "Welp, that's what Asuma said two months before smooching Kurenai. And everyone wonders why I don't date." He then promptly sat in a wooden chair surrounding the couch and pulled out his teal book.

Madara's spirit manifested sitting on the couch, "The snow-haired assassin is smarter than most. But you're not like him, Obito. You wish to feel the heat of a woman's touch do you not?" Madara smirked.

Obito was irked, "Just give it a rest. I will not do anything with a woman until the infinite Tsukoyomi is complete."

Madara spread his arms on the couch, "It's not a crime to perform intercourse, Obito. It's human nature to feel that connection. You have time until the eye of the moon plan is complete, so just relax, and let this night take you where your mind hasn't. The snake summoner seemed very fetching."

Obito walked into the living room and shook his head hoping for Madara to disappear, but to no avail.

Madara then turned to his left and noticed Kakashi reading that perverted book, "Ooh." He said now floating toward Kakashi and looking over his shoulder.

There was a knock at the door and Asuma went to answer it. Opening the door Konan was waiting on the other side, wearing the casual clothes Madara had bought for her. "Am I late?"

"No, you're just on time," Asuma replied knowing full well that she was early. He stepped aside and let her walk in, "Kakashi and Tobi arrived before I did. I can't imagine what it's like to have two early birds as teammates."

Konan saw Kakashi reading that same book that was written by her Sensei, to think of how perverted he could be for being such a nice man.

She then saw Madara standing in the doorway between the dining room and the living room from the left of the front door. She did notice that he was wearing the clothes he bought earlier in the day.

"Hey Kono-chan," Madara said with his Tobi voice from across the room. "Please, sit down. You don't want to catch a cramp."

Konan felt like something was wrong but neither Asuma nor Kakashi batted an eye, he seemed extra giddy tonight as Tobi. Regardless she obeyed him and sat on the couch, she brought a book for her to read whenever there was downtime and luckily that time was now. She pulled her book from her satchel, the book read "Two blue vortexes". What it was about was unknown to Konan, but she heard it was popular with teenagers and young adults.

Obito watched as Konan sat down and decided to walk over to a wooden chair and sit down, "Kakashi-senpai prepped snacks on the dining room table, you're welcome to help yourself."

Konan placed her book on her lap, "I'm fine at the moment, Tobi. Thank you though." Obito nodded in silence.

Ten minutes later and everyone else arrived, except for Guy. You'd think someone like him would arrive on time, but he was nowhere to be seen. Must've been punishing himself for one reason or another.

Genma brought two bottles of sake, to which the first bottle was empty within ten minutes of him placing it on the dining table. Everyone had a cup of sake except Anko who was too young to drink. To put salt in the wound, Genma bought a case of soda for her. Which she was annoyed by.

After Anko grabbed a soda can she decided to sit next to Konan on the couch and Kurenai decided to do the same. Anko kept eyeing Tobi, she felt like he was too quiet this evening. "Hey Tobi, you alright?"

Tobi just nodded, "Mm Hmm." It seemed that it was his first time drinking alcohol.

Anko didn't seem happy with his response though, but she'd ask about it later.

Asuma sat down and put his hands together, "Alright, what are we doing?"

Anko looked around the room and no one had anything to say, she'd take the initiative. "How about we play a game of cards?"

Genma spoke up with the toothpick in his mouth, "We play cards all the time, can't we spice things up a little?"

Kurenai agreed, "Yeah, let's try something different."

Anko got up and grabbed a stack of cards from the end table, "Alright, how about we play go fish but each time you cause someone to lose a card you get to ask truth or dare. How does everyone feel about that?"

No one seemed opposed to the idea, except Kakashi who had no intention of playing anyways. "Count me out." He just continued to read his book.

Anko seemed annoyed, "Oh come on. You always sit out, don't you wanna have some fun for once?"

"Nope," he replied without averting his eye away from his book.

Anko accepted defeat, "Alright then. Anyone else wanna join Kakashi on his path to loneliness?"

No one said anything, everyone else wanted to play. Obito was hesitant as he was both very curious and very nervous.

"Oh, come now, Obito. A harmful game like this couldn't be that bad, after all, truth or dare is a game made for kids." Madara said continuing to read over Kakashi's shoulder.

Anko smiled, "Alright, how about we sit on the floor for this? I'll begin dealing cards when we're ready." Everyone sighed hopping out of their seats and onto the floor. Obito sat with his legs crossed, "Tobi's mind and body are ready." There was an awkward silence after Tobi's remark, but Anko eventually laughed.

"Don't mind Tobi, he's harmless. Now come on, let's play cards." Konan said trying to change the subject.

Anko obliged and began handing everyone five cards, once she finished Anko placed what was left of the deck in the center of everyone who was playing.

Obito checked his cards and sighed, he had the ace of spades, the ace of clubs, an eight of clubs, an eight of spades, and a jack of hearts. "The dead man's hand. How ironic for an already dead man to be holding it." Madara said still looking over Kakashi's shoulder.

"Technically I'm two dead men. And a Mizukage." Obito retorted.

Anko thought she didn't have to explain the rules, "Alright, we go in order of age. I of course am seventeen and turn eighteen in October. What about you two?" Anko asked toward the two whose birthdays were unknown.

Konan answered first and honestly, "I am twenty two and I was born on February twentieth." Konan turned to Madara, awaiting his response.

Tobi seemed all giddy, "Tobi is twenty years old, and was born on February..." Tobi seemed unsure, "Well, Tobi can't quite recall what number though."

Kakashi peaked up from his book, "February, why do I feel like I've known someone else with a February birthday?" He thought to himself.

Anko sighed, "I guess I'm first then." She looked among the circle, "Hmm. Tobi, do you have any threes?"

Tobi nodded his head, "Nope. Go fish."

Anko complied and drew a card from the top deck, "Alright Asuma, your turn."

"Genma, do you have any kings?" Asuma asked.

"Damn," Genma plucked a card from his hand and gave it to Asuma. "Truth."

Asuma had a smile, "Alright, were you actually a member of the Fourth's security detail?"

"Of course I was, he even taught us how to use flying raijin to an extent. Why would you think that I lied about that?"

"You lied about asking Tsunade Senju out."

"Wait, hold on. I did ask her out."

Kurenai piped in, "Yeah, in your dreams."

There were only four sets of laughter, Anko, Asuma, Genma, and Kurenai. Kakashi didn't really care, Konan didn't know Genma at all to understand the joke, Obito was still playing the fool.

Tobi scratched his head, "Umm, who's Tsunade?"

Kakashi answered, "Tsunade Senju, the granddaughter of the First Hokage, student of the Third, and member of the legendary sannin."

Madara was intrigued, he actually didn't know that Hashirama had descendants. He wanted to see this Tsunade in person, or have Obito meet her and by proxy himself.

Anko cleared her throat and looked back at Tobi, "It's your turn, Tobi."

Tobi looked around the circle, "Oh my, so many choices. Umm, Kakashi-senpai, what do I do?"

Kakashi looked at Tobi with an exasperated sigh, "Anko, do you have any sevens?"

Anko pulled out a card and handed it to Tobi, "Now I pick dare."

Tobi flailed his arms above his head, "Kakashi-senpai, what should I say?"

Kakashi sighed, "I can't just help with everything, Tobi. But fine, just this once. Anko, I dare you to wear Guy's leg warmers when he arrives."

Anko seemed upset as she grit her teeth and looked at Kakashi, "Why'd you have to go and say something stupid like that?"

Kakashi shrugged, "You seem like you could use some springtime youth." He said without averting his eye from his book.

Anko blushed a little, "And what's that supposed to mean?!" She blurted out loudly.

Kakashi ignored as he turned a page, "She gets riled up so easily."

Anko pouted as Kakashi ignored her, "I'll get him back some day."

Kurenai looked at her cards, "Asuma, do you have any fours?"

Asuma threw a card from the deck, "Nope, but you might."

Genma looked among everyone, "Konan, you got any queens?"

Konan smiled, "Guess again, Genma." Genma proceeded to grab a card from the deck.

Kurenai spoke up, "Konan, it's your turn."

Konan nodded and looked at her cards, "Umm, Kurenai, do you have any tens?"

Kurenai said, "Nope, go fish."

Konan grabbed a card from the top deck, and moved on.

It came back to Anko's turn and she decided on being mischievous, "Konan, do you have any fives?"

Konan sighed and tossed two cards over to Anko, "What's my dare?"

Anko smirked, "I dare you to..." She was stopped by a simple knock at the door. Kakashi got up and walked to the door, he opened the door and ducked. A flash of green and orange leg warmers flew above Kakashi, the words "Dynamic entry" could be heard. Guy had his foot connect with something that made a cracking noise and sent something skidding across the floor.

Obito was stunned as his back smashed against a wall, he was surprised by Guy's little attack. Obito began to hold onto his head, "Ow ow ow!" Tobi said with his eye closed. Everyone looked at Tobi, concerned for him. His mask was partially broken around his right eye, the mask was still intact over his left eye socket and mouth.

Guy panicked, "Oh, Tobi! I didn't mean to..."

Obito opened his eye and realized that his mask was broken, so he left the room in a hurry and charged into the bathroom.

Everyone in the room saw the right side of his face and noted he had rough stretch marks on his face and lines under his onyx colored eye. Everyone felt bad having seen his scarred face, all except Kakashi and Konan. They understood it from two different perspectives.

Obito huffed as he held onto the sink and stared into it, slowly looking up he checked to see the damage of his mask. It was in poor shape now, and would likely get worse as he wore it. He could get the orange mask Konan had gifted him but he would need to use Kamui to do that now and everyone had seen him go into the bathroom. So they would know something was amiss.

Madara appeared behind Obito, "Sloppy." His horse voice echoed in his mind. "You could have dodged that attack."

Obito just stared at himself and Madara in the mirror, "I was unprepared. And besides, it wasn't an attack. Guy just tried to test Kakashi's reaction, I just got caught in the crossfire."

"Regardless the results were that your mask is damaged, and that puts your identity in jeopardy. Along with your insecurities out in the open."

"I know," Obito said. "But the mask will have to do for a couple of hours." He made sure the mask was sturdy enough for a little bit. And opened the bathroom door, to be greeted by Guy bowing at the door.

"Tobi, please forgive me." Guy cried puddles around himself.

Tobi sighed, "It's okay, Guy-senpai. Tobi is Okie dokie." He pointed his thumb at himself.

Guy looked up at Tobi, "You're not upset?"

"Why would Tobi be upset? Guy-senpai didn't mean to hurt Tobi." He put his arms at his sides.

Guy stood up, "Thank you, Tobi. Hey, why don't we train our stamina? A thousand push ups, are you up for it?"

Tobi held a hand on his chin, "Hmm, that seems fun to Tobi. But we were in the middle of a card game and Tobi really wants to win."

Guy understood, "Then let's do it another day."

Tobi stepped past him and made his way back through the kitchen and through the dining room to get to the living room. It was all quiet, the girls couldn't stop eyeing Tobi, they were extra curious about the man beneath that mask.

Kakashi noted he could see a smile based on Tobi's facial expressions, what little he could see anyway. It seemed he wasn't upset with Guy.

"Tobi is ready to continue playing," he said happily as he sat down.

Konan seemed bothered the more she looked at his broken mask, "Are you sure Tobi? Your mask..."

"Everything's fine. Tobi will just deal with this until tomorrow."

Anko decided to continue from before, "As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, Konan, I dare you to Kiss a boy."

Konan's whole face turned red, "Wha-what?!"

Tobi began giggling at Konan's punishment, to the point that he fell over onto his back and started rolling.

Watching Madara roll around as his Tobi persona made Konan annoyed, and she thought she'd bring him in on the punishment. "Tobi did you volunteer? Oh, thank you. Let's do it away from everyone."

Obito stopped laughing and sat up, "Huh?"

Kakashi chuckled while reading his book, "Shouldn't have said anything, Tobi."

Obito noticed Konan staring daggers into him, he gulped nervously.

Madara appeared behind Obito's shoulder, "If I didn't know any better, I think you're in trouble."

Konan got up and grabbed a hold of Obito's shirt and dragged him toward the dining room.

"Should I do something?" Obito asked.

"Personally, I want to see where this goes." Madara answered.

"You're no help," Obito murmured.

"My intention isn't to help, I was just being honest."

Konan dragged Obito back to the bathroom and closed the door. Obito stood up, "Umm. We're not actually going to...?"

Konan looked at the broken portion of Madara's mask, "We don't have to, we could simply just say we did and move on. No harm no foul."

Obito couldn't shake this burning desire, he did want to know what a kiss felt like but didn't think now was the time. "No thank you. I am not ready for that type of thing." Obito said.

Konan understood that he still cared for his privacy, "I understand." She reached for the door knob and turned it slightly, she stopped and turned around and gave a minor kiss to Obito's mask. She noticed the look of shock on Madara's face. "There, we don't have to lie about that." She returned back to open the door and walked out.

Madara stood against the wall facing the bathroom, "You were this close to experiencing your first kiss."

"Yeah well, I don't care for it." Obito said walking out of the bathroom, even though he did enjoy the indirect kiss.

"You say that yet your body trembled in her close proximity in there."

Obito stopped walking, "It's not everyday that I get pulled into a bathroom by a woman."

As the night furthered more and more sake was consumed by everyone except Anko and Kakashi.

Obito was almost entirely drunk, he didn't intend to drink so much but with Madara pestering him all night he continued to drink more to drown him out.

Everyone noticed the amount of drink Tobi had consumed, Konan thought she'd voice her concern. "Tobi, you should probably cut back on sake before you get blackout drunk."

Tobi waved her off, "Tobi'll be fff-fineeee." He slurred his words and then attempted to get up and get another drink. He fell onto the ground and began snoring, he had passed out.

Kakashi closed his book and placed it in his back pocket, "I think that's where we should call it."

Konan was about to pick Madara up when Kakashi picked him up and slung him over his shoulder, "I'll take care of him. You should get some rest, you've almost had as much as him."

Konan nodded and walked towards the front door, she opened it for Kakashi. They walked back to their apartments together.

Kakashi carried Tobi into Tobi's apartment and walked into Tobi's bedroom. He put Tobi onto the bed and began walking away.

"Rin," Tobi said in his sleep with a more scratchy sounding voice. Kakashi turned around, uneasy, "Why would he say that name in his sleep?" There was a moment where Kakashi thought he should just ignore it but he had an opportunity to see who Tobi was under the mask. He returned back to the bed and reached for Tobi's mask, removing it successfully.

Shock and despair filled Kakashi's soul as he recognized the man underneath the mask, a little older than when he last saw him. "Obito!" Kakashi said, his breath escaping him. Thoughts rushed to Kakashi's mind trying to understand how he survived the boulder. He'd grieved Obito's death for years, and yet he lived. Or was he imagining Obito's face?

Just then Tobi, or Obito rolled over still snoring. "I'm sorry, Minato-Sensei." He said in his sleep.

That confirmed that Tobi was Obito to Kakashi. He placed the yellow mask back on Obito's face and left, he couldn't confront Obito now. He knew that he needed the sleep, but that didn't mean he couldn't do it when Obito was fully awake. "What happened to you Obito?" Kakashi left the apartment silently.
