….

I was standing with the others when Jade's sister, Nephry, came back.

"The Tartarus inspection is complete. You can leave anytime."

"Okay, shall we head for Grand Chokmah now?" Guy asked.

Tear was the one to answer. "Yes. We must inform the Emperor as quickly as possible about the danger of St. Binah falling."

Natalia nodded "Yes. First, let's hurry to Rotelro Bridge."

Anise sighed. "And then we walk from there... Colonel. If I get tired, carry me on your back, okay?"

Jade just shrugged, putting his hands in the air. "I'm afraid not. Perhaps it's my age, but my joints ache, you see." He put his hands back in his pockets. "To get to Grand Chokmah, we head northeast from the bridge and then pass through Theo Forest. It's a rough trip for an old man like me. You youngsters will have to shield me and lead the way."

"...Um...yeah..."

"There's no time to waste. Let's get going, guys!" Luke said in a hurry "Thanks for your help, Nephry."

"Take care. Brother, please give my regards to His Majesty."

We walked to Keterburg Bay. We killed many monsters heading towards Keterburg Bay, I healed from afar and killed with the sword I conjured using many orbs I had. But when we were close to our next destination, and after another kill of the monsters that got in our way. Jade decided to speak up.

"Kairi, I wish to ask you something that has been on my mind lately."

I blink stopping to turn around to face Jade, as the others stopped realizing Jade and I weren't following them. They walk back confused.

"What's the hold-up?" Natalia said as she frowned.

"Oh, um...Jade asked me a question that has been bugging him," I told the Princess, then I looked away from her to Jade. "What is this question?"

He raises his hand and with his finger, he pushes his glasses up causing a glare to hit the lens.

"When you conjure that sword and heal...you use these glowing orbs that give out lots of fonon energy. I haven't seen anyone use that kind of fonons..." He places his hand back in his pocket staring me down with an intense look, making me feel nervous.

I shrug, as I push my blue hair behind my ear "Truthfully... I don't know myself. I can just...do it? It's hard to explain, but I can just picture a weapon in my mind those orbs will change to whatever I thought of."

He grabs his chin "Hmm...interesting. Well, you conjure a weapon, please? I wish to scan it as you do."

I shrug "Sure."

I summoned one orb hovering above my hand, hearing the others awed and oohed, it's adorable seeing them acting like children seeing something fun and interesting. I thought of one weapon in mind, reaching my hand into the orb when everyone but Jade and me covered their faces from the brightness.

They uncovered blinking away the spots most likely, and then everyone but Jade and me gasped seeing a replica of Jade's spear.

"N-no way! You just thought of Jade's spear, and...those orbs can make it appear!?" Luke exclaimed in shock and curiousness.

Chuckling as I handed it over to Jade for him to analyze it, I turned to the group.

"Kind of, it's not like formicry like how Luke was created. But...it's close to it? It's kind of a mystery to me, so I just guess..."

"Wait...when you heal us, it felt like I was refreshed and better, but it also gave me a boost in my attacks and took more damage on the monsters we fought!" Anise said, realizing.

I nodded "Yes, indeed it does. But, it changes randomly when I heal. So, you all will get a different boost on something different or the same." I told him with a smile.

"Wow...that's amazing Kairi." Ion smiles at me, looking impressed.

I thanked him with a small smile, they asked me more about what I could do of course I didn't tell them about that ability. I can't let them find out...not yet at least. Jade gave me the spear back, which with a flick of my wrist glowed turning back to the glowing orb and it entered my chest.

"Wow...so when you're not using those orbs, they enter your chest? Why?" Tear said this time.

"Oh um..." I rub behind my neck. "I don't know, they just do that."

After that, the chat ended and we continued onward. We finally got to Theor Forest. Jade left with them, leaving us to wait until they fetched us...I sat on the grassy ground leaning my back against the tree watching Anise hit the poor tree in front of me. Luke, Guy, and Natalia were speaking but I zone out thinking about how he's doing. I wonder how he's handling everything, knowing him he's all smiles and doing his Empire duties.

I snapped out of my thoughts as everyone, and myself shot up onto their feet hearing a cry of pain hitting them.

"What was that?!"

"A scream..."

"Let's go!"

And when we found one of the soldiers, he mentioned the Oracle soldiers. It concerned everyone, but this is my chance to disappear and watch from afar. I can't always be around to help them, I don't like shortcuts too much. So as they were fighting monsters, I bent down whispering to Mieu.

"Mieu, I need to ask a favor."

"Hm? Sure, Kairi."

Smiling softly at Mieu's cuteness. "I'm taking my leave, but I'll be close by. Don't tell the others, but tell them I went on ahead and I'll see everyone at St. Binah."

Mieu frowns sadly causing his big long ears to droop down. "Y-you're leaving us? Mieuu..."

"Sorry, but I'm not going to be leaving, I'll be watching from afar. I just...I can't be seen by anyone in Grand Chokmah..." I told Mieu with a sad smile.

"Aww...okay. Please be safe."

I nodded and quickly jumped up onto the trees, keeping my sights on everyone. I stopped at a tree so I sat down on the tree branch just in time to see Largo jump down at Natalia but she shot an arrow that almost grazed his cheek. Then Guy started attacking Luke thanks to the curse slot, Sync put on him so he must be nearby...

I gasped silently holding onto the tree as there was an earthquake, causing Natalia to find Sync's hiding spot and send an arrow causing him to drop down holding his shoulder where her arrow got him. Oddly I wanted to go down there and check, or heal his wounds. I'll wait, I stood up on the tree branch and followed Largo and Sync.

….

It didn't take me long to find the two God-Generals, Sync was being his grumpy self while Largo was berating him for getting caught.

"Tch, shut up! I know I was foolish, but it wasn't my doing damn it!"

"Humph...very well, I'll go on ahead to inform Legretta what happened. Follow after you healed your wounds..."

Making sure Largo was fully gone, I sent one of my orbs over to Sync. He jumped back confused as to why it was floating around him and when it stopped flying around him healing him it stayed floating in front of him. I watch as he looks at his hands, arms, his whole body.

"What the..."

"You should be more careful, Sync..." I spoke up jumping down not far from him.

He whirls around clenching his fists, he stands in his fighting stance but he relaxes when he sees it is just me.

He scowls. "Be quiet! I don't need you scolding me like a child!"

I shrugged with a smile on my lips, walking over closer held out my hand, palms facing the sky as the orb flies over to my hand and stays there.

"...How... I have never seen anything like that..." He sounded awed by my orbs, making me chuckle.

"It's my unique skill that only I possess," I told him.

"...Interesting. Tch, don't expect a 'thank you' 'cause I won't give it."

I shrug not phased by his rudeness, can't blame him...I'm kind of the enemy since I'm with Luke and the others.

"It doesn't bother me. I better go, see you next time Sync! And try not to be seen next time...I can't always heal you if I'm not around." With a small wave of my hand, and gave him a soft smile and walked away towards St. Binah where I promised Mieu I would meet the others.

….

St. Binah

I finally got to St. Binah and entered it, keeping an eye out for Luke and the others.

"Kairi!"

I stop and turn around sighing in releif seeing Luke and the others rushing over to me.

"What took you guys so long? Did you get to talk to the Emperor?"

Luke nods "Yeah. We should head to The Elder to give them the order!"

I nod and join them in running to the Malkuth Base where the Elder should be with his son Glenn. We got close to the meeting room when we heard Glenn speaking.

"We cannot make a move without an order from His Imperial Majesty."

I stayed back as Luke and Jade took the lead walking in and interrupting their talk.

"If an order from Emperor Peony is what you're waiting for, we just brought it!" I smiled at Luke when he said that.

"Colonel Curtiss? You're alive!" Glenn asked in surprise.

"What did His Majesty say?" the Elder asked them, cutting to the chase.

"We're to evacuate the civilians to Engeve area," Jade answered.

"But that will mean leaving the city unguarded..."

"Who cares?" Luke shouted, "This whole area's started to fall!"

"My troops will take over escorting the civilians partway along the route. Once the civilians are out, please have your forces go west to join General Nordheim's forces on the East Rugnica Plains." Jade told them.

"Understood. So we're abandoning St. Binah."

"Right." Glenn said, "I'll inform the residents."

"We'll help, too." Tear said.

Luke nodded "Right."

I followed them outside. Luke grabbed an old man on his back and chaos happened saw Dist The Reaper with his stupid Kaiser Dist machine I was about to jump in there to help but I heard a sob. I walked farther away from the others to see a little girl with brown hair and a cute orange dress on; she was crying. I knelt in front of her, smiling softly.

"Hey little one, you should go to safety with the others."

The little girl looked at me with her teary eyes that were light green "M-my mommy won't w-wake u-up."

I looked behind her crying form to notice her mother lying down, unmoving. I smiled sadly, putting my hand on her head and making her look at me with her teary eyes.

"I'm sorry sweetie... but I think your mommy wants you safe. So I'll keep you safe for her until someone can take care of you, 'kay?" she wiped her tears away and nodded. "My name is Kairi, what's your name, Hun?" I picked her up in my arms. She wrapped her small arms around my neck.

"Alicia..." she told me.

I found the Elder and Glenn, and stayed with them while watching; I helped Luke with my healing Artes. I reached out my hand to where Luke was fighting and a small white orb flew to him and spiraled around his body, healing his wounds before disappearing. I heard Luke call out a 'Thank You'.

I did the same with Jade, Anise, and Guy; Natalia and Tear were using their own healing artes as well.

They finally beat Kaiser Dist, but it destroyed the gate of Binah and the whole city was starting to go down slowly, with me and the others still in it.

I hold onto Alicia telling her it's okay, she hides her face in my shoulder.

"Noooooo! My precious Kaiser Dist! You haven't heard the last of me! Next time, I'll tear you to shreds!" Dist shouted before he flew away on his chair.

"I don't think you'll catch him, but follow him just in case," Jade told two of his soldiers.

"Yes, Sir!"

"Damn it! McGovern and the others are...!"

"Luke, wait! I'll jump down and sing a fonic hymn!"

"Wait, A considerable number of residents still remains."

I stood beside the Elder with Alicia in my arms; I called out Luke's name.

"Kairi!" he replied, "Guy says they're doing flying experiments in Sheridan! Take care of the others while we go check it out! We'll be back for everyone!" I nodded, smiling. I knew I could trust him.

"Okay! But please, be careful, guys!" I shouted to them when they left.

I healed any of the hurt residents. After a while, I was fixing Alicia's hair. I decided to put it in a braid with an orange ribbon at the bottom. Alicia ran over to the Elder to show him what I did with her hair, I was about to walk over to them when a hand grabbed my wrist.

I turned around to see who it was, and before I could say anything he picked me up in his arms and jumped away from the falling St. Binah, to the area that was still stable. He then put me back on my feet.

"W-why did you do that?!"

I was angry at him because if Alicia finds me gone, she'll be upset. Especially since she lost her mother.

"Humph..." was his answer. "Whatever, just come with me now."

Before I could argue with him, he hit a nerve on my neck making me fall in his arms unconscious.

What I didn't know was when I would wake up next time I would enjoy my time with him, but I would also be betraying the people that trusted me...
