Hey everyone, TheKingHHH100 here and it's my birthday! And as a birthday gift of sorts, but rather from me to you guys, I'll be posting the first chapter of my long awaited Ed, Edd n Eddy/Ben 10 crossover series! I did another crossover of the same nature before which was well received called OmnitrixED, which you can check out if you haven't seen it. If you haven't though, do not worry as this story isn't a sequel to that, but rather a full fledge series based on its concept. I admit I've been delaying this due to some writer's block I had while trying to write it and at one point I was repeating too much dialogue from OmnitrixED and thought it was lazy to do so, but still hope you can enjoy it and won't think it's too similar.
Special thanks goes to OurShepard1999 for helping me write this first chapter and adding some new dialogue to some scenes, as like I said before I had some writer's block and repeated some of OmnitrixED's dialogue for this one, and also he's helping me with ideas for the series and being a beta reader for the chapters I made, so thank you dude!
Unfortunately due to scheduling conflict, my other EENE crossover 'Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy Z' while go on a bit of a hiatus until I finish working on the first few chapters of this fic. Sorry to all fans of that fic, I promise I'll go back to it as soon as I finish with this!

Season 1
Chapter 1: And then there were Eds
In the darkness of the outer space, in the asteroid belt, a battle was occurring between two ships, one small and silver in color, the other colossal and dark, each of them firing barrages of green and red lasers. The bigger ship managed to catch up to the smaller ship, at the same time the smaller ship fired a few green lasers that hit the ship's hull, causing the entire ship to shake.
"We've been hit, hull damage 20%, systems still operational, but we're losing power" the crew member Lieutenant of the big ship explained to his captain in an almost robotic voice.
The captain appeared to have a cthulu-like appearance, an anthropomorphic giant squid man, having a pale green skin and red eyes, and what appeared to be tentacles for a beard. This was Vilgax, conqueror of worlds. "Keep on attacking. I have come too far to be denied." Vilgax ordered. "The Omnitrix will be mine, and there will be no being on the galaxy that can stop me!"
Meanwhile on Earth:
In this planet there is a town known as Peach Creek, where we go to the local school, Peach Creek Jr. High. There we can see three boys walking out of it. They are known by everyone as the scammers of the Cul-de-sac, the party poppers, the most annoying trio of kids, the Eds, since all their names started with Ed:
First was Ed, who has wearing a dark olive jacket, a white T-shirt with large red horizontal red stripes, blue baggy jeans and black shoes. He had short red hair and one eyebrow. He was the tallest of the group, and he was known for his kindness, always happy, always welcoming anyone who wanted to be his friend attitude. But he was not the brightest one, having most of his grades F-, except for sports and arts. Okay, not the brightest was the understatement of the millennia, if you were to see his brain, you would easily mistake it for chewed gum. But he compensated with his unnatural strength.
The other one was Edd, also known as 'Double D'. He wore a red T-shirt, purple short pants, high dark purple knee socks, blue shoes, and a black beanie which covered his head. He was also kind, with a positive attitude, but he was known to be FAR smarter than Ed, excelling in his academics, except for sports, also known for how physically weak he was.
And there was Eddy. He wore a yellow polo shirt with a vertical red stripe on his right side and with a purple collar/sleeve hems, light blue jeans, and red shoes. He had short black hair, except for three long pieces of hair that stood straight up. He was the shortest of the trio, but he was the leader and the one who planned all the scams. He was also known for his smug, selfish, sometimes rude attitude, and very short temper. But despite all of that, they were best friends to the end, having adventures, having good and bad moments…mostly bad, but they never give up on their goal, scamming the Cul-de-sac kids out of their money to buy candy, and having a good time while doing it. Right now, they are walking out of school after the final day of class before the summer vacation.
"Teachers! For crying out loud!" Eddy angrily yelled. He was pissed at his teacher for scolding him and giving him detention, nothing he wasn't getting used to, but in the last day before summer for Pete's sake!
"Well Eddy, to be honest you can't really blame her. I mean it was you who threw the paper airplane behind her back." Double D told him.
"Whatever, what does she know? Talkin' about summer school and all of that, what a drag!" Eddy exclaimed.
"The academic year has been unbelievably short." Double D sighed.
"Been too long in my opinion Sockhead, but this just gave me a great idea for our next scam!" Eddy exclaimed. "We'll make a summer camp at the forest, the kids will pay a quarter to go and avoid being sent to summer school by their parents!"
Back in Space:
The two ships continued their battle, with the large ship firing beams until it destroyed the other's ship stern. "Their propulsion systems have been destroyed" the lieutenant reported.
"Prepare to board. I want the Omnitrix, NOW!" Vilgax said. But just after he said that, the smaller ship fired a green laser beam at his ship, engulfing Vilgax in the fiery explosion. However, Vilgax's ship shot a huge blast in retaliation, which almost completely destroyed the small ship, but not before it fired what appeared to be a missile but in another direction. The missile then opened to shoot a small bluish container towards the closest planet.
Back with the Eds:
Here we can see the Eds in the woods, Eddy is walking first, followed by Ed, with Double D behind them carrying an overstuffed backpack. "Quit drying out your pits, Ed, move it. You too, Sockhead!" Eddy exclaimed, seeing as his companions were getting far behind him.
"Coming Eddy!" Double D forced a smile, although it was pretty obvious he was struggling to carry his backpack. As he was trying to walk forward, his backpack got stuck with a few low tree branches that were around.
Eddy rolled his eyes at this. "Seriously Sockhead, why did you bring so many things?" he questioned.
"I only brought some essential provisions for our stay with nature" Double D answered. He tried to advance but couldn't pull his backpack out of the branches even with his best efforts. "A little help would really be appreciated!" he exclaimed.
Eddy sighed and turned to Ed. "Lumpy?"
"At your services, Eddy!" Ed exclaimed as he ran to Double D and began pulling from his arm. However, the backpack was so stuck and Ed's strength was so big that he ended up pulling Double D out of the backpack and into him, the two rolling on the ground and taking Eddy with them, before finally crashing in the middle of a clearing a few meters away.
"Home on the range, huh guys?" Ed said while on the ground.
"Shut up, Ed!" Eddy exclaimed as he dusted himself up, then he started inspecting the clearing around. "Hey, this is the perfect place for our Summer Camp Ed!" Eddy said while rubbing his hands. "Quick, let's set up camp and… uh, what do you do first to set up a camp?" he asked Double D.
"Well Eddy, since it's close to dusk I suggest the first thing we should do is a campfire to keep ourselves both lighted and warm" Double D explained.
"Yeah, good idea Sockhead. Do you have a lighter with you?" Eddy asked.
"A lighter? No, why would I have a lighter with me?" Double D questioned.
"You're kidding right? You carried this huge backpack with you all the way and didn't bring a small lighter even in your pocket?!" Eddy exclaimed with disbelief.
"Of course not Eddy, bringing a lighter to the woods is very irresponsible, and my parents would never allow me to do so. Do you know how many wildfires are caused by careless campers-?"
"Whatever" Eddy cut him off. "Ed, did you bring a matchbox like I told you?"
"Right away, Eddy!" Ed exclaimed as he took a matchbox out of his jacket inner pocket.
"Good, at least I can count on Lum-" Eddy was saying as he took the matchbox Ed gave him, only to open it and see that all the match heads were eaten. "Ed, what happened to all the match heads?!"
"I ate them, duh" Ed exclaimed as if it was an obvious statement. Eddy and Double D stared at him with weird expressions.
"You. Ate. Them?" Eddy questioned.
"Yep. I thought you wanted us to bring snacks, so I brought a matchbox! But, uhhh… I got hungry, so I ate all the matches! Sorry…" Ed explained.
"That's stupid!" Eddy shouted angrily, asking Antonucci up in the skies 'Why? Why? Why did you had to make the biggest guy in the entire Cul-de-sac, THE DUMBEST ONE?!', "Why would we want to eat matches?" Eddy exclaimed.
"You don't want to eat matches, Eddy?" Ed asked.
"Of course not!"
"Oh, okay. I was saving the last one for you but if you don't want it…" Ed said as he grabbed the last good match and ate its head.
Eddy looked at him in disbelief before facepalming. "Oh my God, how are we supposed to light a fire now?!"
"Well Eddy, traditionally campers use brushwood and small twigs for that" Double D explained.
"Right. Come on Lumpy, we'll get some wood while Sockhead here tends the camp" Eddy said as he began to walk off.
"Actually Eddy, I need Ed to stay here and help me set up the tent if you don't mind" Double D told him.
"Great. I have to do all the work 'round here…" Eddy muttered in annoyance as he walked into the forest.
After Eddy left, Ed went to get Edd's backpack out of the branches, and the two proceeded to set up the tent. While doing that, Double D looked up to the sky and saw what seemed to be a shooting star passing by. "Look, Ed! A shooting star!" he said while pointing upwards.
"Nani?" Ed asked.
"You know Ed, it's of common belief to wish for something upon seeing one, people say that those wishes always come true" Double D told him.
Ed closed his eyes and thought, "I wish something exciting would happen this summer!"
Meanwhile with Eddy:
Eddy had gone a bit deeper into the woods and was picking a few twigs he'd been able to find, while continuing to fume. "…I swear one of these days…"
Eddy suddenly looked to the sky and saw the same shooting star that Ed and Double D had seen. "Hey, a shooting star!" he exclaimed. He then closed his eyes and said, "I wish to be rich!" to no one in particular since he was alone.
Suddenly, the star changed its course and headed straight towards Eddy. He dropped the twigs in his hands and started running. "I change my mind, I wish this star doesn't crush me!" he exclaimed while running. Effectively, the star crashed just behind Eddy, almost crushing him but sending him flying instead, and creating a huge crater on the ground.
After the smoke cleared up, Eddy dusted himself off and went to look over the crater. He saw that there was something inside glowing. What is that?" he asked again to no one in particular. As the glow faded, he saw what seemed to be a small silver sphere.
"Looks like a satellite or something… I wonder if I can sell it for money?" Eddy thought aloud, if it was a satellite, he could make a good profit out of it. However, the ground he was standing on suddenly gave up and Eddy fell into the crater, landing next to the pod, which opened to reveal a green glow coming out of it.
Eddy got up and wanted to back away, thinking it was something radioactive. But his curiosity got the better of him, as he looked inside to see what appeared to be a bulky watch, with two tubes around it and a green hourglass symbol on the dial that was glowing.
"A watch? What's a watch doing in outer space?" Eddy asked out loud for the third time. He went to grab it, but the watch jumped to his arm like it had gained life and wrapped around his wrist, glowing an intense green as it did. It finally settled on Eddy's arm and stopped glowing. When it was done, it seemed to be fused to his arm.
"Aaaaaaah! Take it off! Take it off!" Eddy exclaimed in horror as he shook his arm, the watch however didn't even move. He dropped to the floor and tried to wrestle the watch out using his legs and feet, to no avail. He got out of the crater and tried to use one of the twigs he had dropped to take off the watch, but the twig broke due to the pressure.
"Stupid thing…" muttered Eddy as he fell on his knees. He then decided to press the big green button on the left side of the watch, under the faceplate to see what would happen, hopefully removing the infernal contraption. He pressed it and the core of the watch popped up, beeping and showing some sort of green circuitry, and the faceplate symbol changing from an hourglass to a green diamond, with a shadow resembling a humanoid figure appearing on it.
"Huh? What's this?" Eddy asked, not tired of talking to himself. He thought what would happen if he pressed the core down. So he did it, he put a finger on the faceplate and pressed it down. In that moment a green light flashed and engulfed Eddy's body. All of the sudden Eddy's body started to change. His left arm began to grow what looked like red rocks, which quickly spread up his arm, circled his eyes and then covered his entire body.
After a second the flash was over, Eddy felt different, yet the same. He then looked at his hands, and what he saw scared him even more then the time he and the other two Ed's were tricked by the Kanker's to marry them in that abandoned house, thank Antonucci that time was episodic and never brought back on the show. His hands WERE on fire, actually more like made of fire, no, scratch that, made of bright magma, so was his body and head.
What stood in his place was now a humanoid which had a body made of red rocks looking material. Inside the cracks of his body was bright yellow looking magma, he's feet having only two toes and his hands were huge, his head covered in flames, his rocky face only being visible, and had an hourglass symbol on his rocky chest, the very same one the watch had.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE! YAAAGGHHH!" Eddy screamed as he started running around back and forth, dropping to the ground and rolling, trying to put out the flames on his head. After a ten seconds or so, he got up looked at himself again, stopping his screaming and taking deep breathes, realizing that he didn't felt any pain at all, in fact he felt…good. "Hey, I'm on fire… and, I'm alright. Check it out. I'm totally hot!" said Eddy as he chuckled at his own pun.
He then noticed his voice was different, very raspy and deep. "What's up with my voice? It sounds awesome! Bet Nazz would easily fall for a man with a voice like this" said Eddy with confidence, thinking puberty finally changed his rather sharp and sometimes squeaky voice, with a more masculine one for a masculine guy like him. He raised his left hand to get a better look at, as he did this, a ball of fire started to materialize in his palm and shot towards a nearby tree, which was aimed at unintentionally, blowing part of its trunk and completely burning some of its branches. "Woah?! I didn't want to do that!" 'Eddy' exclaimed in pure shock as he witnessed the damage caused by his new found powers. He then started to look at his hands thoughtfully and an idea flickered in his mind "Hmm... I wonder if..."
He raised his other hand, making a shooting gun gesture, then an even bigger a ball of fire materialized at the top of his finger and shot it towards another tree, ending with the same result, the tree burning to ashes. He then started to shooting different balls of fire from both of his hands towards different trees, blowing and burning them up.
"This is really fun!" 'Eddy' said as he had the fun of a lifetime, enjoying his new body and the powers it had, it was different, but felt normal, as if he was this way his entire life. He was so entertained by the thought of his new powers that he failed to realize that all the fireballs he was launching at the trees had created a huge fire that was spreading quickly, until it was too late…
"Oh oh!" 'Eddy' exclaimed in his new form. He quickly began to stomp the grass in an attempt to make the fire die down, but he failed to realize that his foot was now made of fire, and it was only making the flames grew bigger and bigger…
"Oh man, I'm gonna get so busted for this!"
Back to Ed and Double D:
The two other Eds had finally set up their tent and were patiently waiting for their friend to return, although they were starting to get a bit worried.
"Did you hear that explosion a few moments ago, Ed?" Double D asked with concern. "I hope Eddy is okay…"
Suddenly, he saw smoke emanating from the part of the forest where Eddy had gone and where they had heard the explosion. Double D gasped upon seeing this. "Ed! I think some foolish camper may have accidentally started a fire, and Eddy may be in danger because of it!" he exclaimed in horror.
"WE HAVE TO SAVE EDDY!" Ed shouted.
Double D run towards his backpack and took a fire extinguisher out of it. "Come on, Ed. We have to find Eddy and help stop this fire!"
"Average Joe to the rescue!" Ed exclaimed as he somehow took a fire extinguisher out of his jacket. The two rushed towards the sight of the fire, in an attempt to put an end to it and save their friend.
Back to 'Eddy':
'Eddy', still in his new fire form, looked in horror as every part of the woods around him was now as red hot as he was right now, unable to do anything to stop it since anything he touched only caught even more fire.
"This would be so cool… if it wasn't so… not cool!" 'Eddy' said while still trying to stomp down the flames, only making it worse as more grass caught fire.
Double D and Ed arrived at the scene and began trying to put the fire down with their extinguishers. "Ed, I'll go right this way, you go the other and if you see Eddy, just shout" Double D instructed.
"Roger that, Double D!" Ed said as he fired his extinguisher at the flames like it was some kind of laser gun straight out of his comics. "Burn you evil fire, for I Ed am the extin-" he was interrupted when he heard a scream coming out of the flames. He looked around, thinking that it could be Eddy, but saw no one. That was until he saw a huge lava-made creature coming out of the flames.
"Lumpy!" the creature lurked.
"AHHHH! IT'S THE SCORCHER!" Ed shouted in panic as he began hitting the creature with his extinguisher.
"OH!" the creature shouted as it fell on the ground. "Stop it, numbskull!"
Ed ceased his attack, his brain entering a slow process of recognition. There was only one person who always shouted at him like that. "Eddy?" he asked in confusion.
"No, it's the Human Torch!" 'Eddy' exclaimed as he dusted himself off (or fired himself up?) and got back on his feet. He realized that he was even taller than Ed in this form. If he had to guess, he'll say he was as tall as his dad, and the guy was 5.11 feet tall.
"You look different… did you get a haircut?" Ed, being Ed, dumbly asked.
"No, and also… I'm on fire!" 'Eddy' exclaimed.
Ed seemed to misunderstand this and, thinking that his friend was burning alive, shot his extinguisher at him, only making him scream more in pain since he was cutting off his flames.
"Knock it off, you big oaf!" 'Eddy' angrily shouted. Ed was quick to stop after hearing this. 'Eddy' coughed out some of the extinguisher's fluid, the flames on his head which had been extinguished by Ed lighting up again. "It's okay, I'm not… hurt by it" he explained.
"How did you get so red, Eddy?" Ed asked.
"Well, I was walking when this meteor fell out of the sky, but it wasn't a meteor or a satellite, but it had this cool watch thingy that clamped to my wrist and I couldn't take it off, then I pressed some buttons and I was suddenly on fire, only that it didn't hurt, and I can shoot flames… and I may have or may have not accidentally started this fire…" 'Eddy' explained.
"Ed? Are you okay? I heard you shout" they heard a voice say. Then they saw Double D was approaching them.
"Hey Double D, guess who?" Ed said as he pointed at the humanoid figure on fire next to him, who was now waving.
"OH MY GOD ED!" Double D screamed as he now took notice of the strange creature next to his friend, and thinking that either it was threatening him or that it could be a person on fire, he shot his extinguisher straight at him.
"Wait Sockhead! It's me!" the creature yelled while being bathed in the extinguisher's fluid, in an angry yet familiar tone despite the different voice. Double D immediately stopped and looked at the creature, who was now coughing fluids again, the flames on his head being put out before reigniting after a few seconds.
"E-E-Ed-dy? I-Is t-that y-you?" Double D stuttered upon realizing.
"Yeah, it's me, and I swear if anyone else baths me again in that thing…" 'Eddy' complained.
"W-What happened?" Double D said on the verge of fainting, even dropping his extinguisher out of shock.
"Well, I was walking when-" Eddy's explanation was cut off by the sound of the flames growing.
"I would love to hear a coherent explanation right now, but first we need to take care of this huge forest fire!" Double D exclaimed.
"What can I do? Anything I touch only catches more fire" 'Eddy' said.
Double D seemed to ponder at this for a minute before coming with an idea. "That's it, Eddy! You need to create a backfire! If you start a new fire and let it burn into the old fire, they'll snuff each other out!" he explained.
"Yeah Eddy, use your fire mutant powers!" Ed exclaimed.
"Okay, if you say so Sockhead…" 'Eddy' said, trusting the smartest Ed's idea. He ran to a part of the woods which hadn't caught fire yet and began shooting flames at its trees, which quickly started a new fire, in the opposite direction of the other one. The two fires began to put each other down just like Double D had said, while the Eds got out of there to avoid being caught by the authorities and blamed for starting the fire.
Back in Space:
Here we can see the larger ship still orbiting Earth, inside the squid-like alien is in a medical pod, missing several of his limbs and needing an oxygen mask as a result of the injuries sustained in the explosion. Small round spider like drones were crawling around his body, most likely repairing his damaged body and a new crew of robots was repairing the damaged hull outside.
"What do you mean it's not there?! This battle nearly cost me my life and you say the Omnitrix is no longer on board the transport?!" he demanded.
"Sensors indicated that a pod was jettisoned from the ship before boarding" his new crew Lieutenant reported. "It landed on the planet below" then a holographic image of the planet's map appeared in front of him, showing a red dot on the map, where Peach Creek was.
Vilgax turned his head and looked at a huge orange robot. "Bring it to me!" he ordered. The robot simply turned around and walked away, ready to fulfill the wishes of his master.
Back to the Eds:
A few minutes after, the Eds returned to their campsite, where they were sitting at currently, having easily made a campfire thanks to Eddy still being on 'fire' mode.
"…and then I pressed the watch's dial and next thing I knew, I was on fire" 'Eddy' finished explaining.
"So, you say this watch clamped to your wrist by itself?" Double D asked.
"Hey, it wasn't my fault Sockhead, I swear" 'Eddy' responded as Ed tossed him a marshmallow, which immediately roasted on his hands and he threw it into his mouth.
"I believe you, Eddy" Double D simply told him, many crazy things usually happened in their day to day lives, so a watch that jumps at peoples wrists wasn't so weird for him anymore. Meanwhile, Ed was looking at 'Eddy' just like how a 7 year old would look at an action figure they really want, which creeped 'Eddy' a little.
"YOU LOOK SO COOL! YOU ARE JUST LIKE THE HERO FIREBLAZER FROM MY SYNDICATE OF JUSTICE COMICS! HOW LONG DO YOU THINK YOU WILL STAY IN MONSTER FORM?" asked Ed as he jumped up and down around him, his smile never leaving his face.
Double D was the one to answer Ed's question "Well Ed, I don't know how long will he remain in that form, but I definitely think he is not a monster, but an alien" Double D answered, only to be meet with Ed and 'Eddy', staring at him in wonder.
"Well that watch turned him into this creature, and it came from outer space, so he must be an alien" Double D explained as simply as he could, hoping they would understand him. At least Eddy did.
"Why so?" Asked Ed like the lumpy he is, still not understanding where he got that idea.
Double D simply stared at him, baffled that he still didn't get what he was trying to say, being around him for so long, and you would think you'd get used to his very low IQ.
"Whatever, all I know is that I'm hot now… well, even hotter than before!" 'Eddy' exclaimed with a grin on his now rocky face.
"Actually Eddy, you're more like heat" Double D corrected his friend.
"And you can shoot blasts, so that makes you a Heatblast!" Ed responded, without realizing that he came up with something interesting.
"Heatblast, huh?" said 'Eddy' as he really liked the sound of it "Yeah, I like that. It's a good name. I think I'll use it from now on" said 'Eddy', now known as Heatblast, taking full pride in his new name.
"Eddy, this is serious! We have to find a way to change you back to normal before someone sees you!" Double D said.
"You're just jealous that I'm finally taller than you!" Heatblast responded. Just then the hourglass symbol he had on his chest started doing a beeping sound and flashing a red light on and off. "Guys… what's that sound?" Heatblast asked his friends confused, both of them noticing the hourglass flashing red light. Before anything could be said or done, a blinding red light engulfed Heatblast. And after a second, the red light died down, both Double D and Ed saw Eddy back to normal, much to Double D's relief and Eddy's disappointment.
"What?! And just when I had picked a new name!" Eddy said annoyed.
Meanwhile in another part of the woods:
After being jettisoned from the large ship, we see the huge robot land just where the pod was. After scanning it and realizing what it was looking for wasn't there, the robot destroyed it with a powerful blast. It then separated two disks off from his shoulders, which turned into droids and sent them to search and destroy.
Back to the Ed's camp:
Eddy continued trying to make the watch change him back, much to Double D's disapproval. "Eddy, I believe we have to tell our parents about this" Double D said in a very serious tone.
At this Eddy turned to look at Double D. "What? Why?! Eddy panicked, clearly not onboard with his friend's suggestion.
"Eddy, that watch could be, no, scratch that, is dangerous. We need to let someone know before something bad happens" Double D explained, thinking this was the best way to approach the situation.
"Double D, you of all people should know that this is a bad idea" Eddy said in 'as a matter of fact' tone, trying to get Double D to see his thinking was only going to get them into even more trouble. "I can't get this thing off. If we let our parents know, they might consider cutting my wrist off! Or tell the Feds and send me to area 51 where they might get me killed with their experiments trying to take the watch for themselves. Is that what you want Double D? To take me away? To separate us, maybe forever? Eddy asked with a sad tone, looking at him directly in the eyes. He knew he had convinced him by now. And luckily for him, Ed was there to help him out, intentionally or not.
Ed was quiet for the most part, too busy in his world to realize how dire the situation at hand was. However in the dense fog of his mind, the words 'separate us' and 'take me away' managed to get into his brain. And from there on, it was easy to say what happens next. As Ed's happy lovable oath mood quickly took a 180 degree, as Ed's eyes well up with tears and he breaks into sobs, and rivers of tears started to fall from his eyes. "We will be three no more, Double D! Like hop, skip, and no jump! Like up, up and no away! Like blah, blah without the other blah!" said Ed as he continued to sob and cry with red puffy eyes.
Double D thought about it, and as much as he wanted to retort, saying that they need to let an adult know about the watch, he couldn't deny Eddy's reasons to keep the watch a secret were justifiable, even though he also believed Eddy wanted to keep the watch a secret for his own entertainment, something that he will have to discuss about with Eddy very soon. With the watch stuck on his friend's wrist, and with no way to remove it, the chances of amputation were very high, as well as the chances of the government trying to get the watch through methods that could end up killing his friend, a thought that disturbed him greatly. It also didn't help that Ed started crying and talking about how they will be separated forever. And with that, he made his decision.
"Alright already! Double D exclaimed, letting out an annoyed and defeated sigh "We'll keep the watch a secret ! Happy?" asked again with a more calm tone as he needed to stay focused and calm for now.
"Yay!" exclaimed Ed as he bear hugged his friends, his mood taking another 180 degree, back into the happy lovable oath, "We are three once more!"
"Let go Lump!" exclaimed Eddy as he miraculously managed to pull out of Ed's monster hug. Just as he did that the watch, which until this point had become red where it once had been green, did a beep sound and returned to its green color. Eddy noticed this and deduced that it had needed to recharge, and more importantly, that he could now use it again!
"I want to be Heatblast again!" said Eddy in excitement, cannot waiting to put his fire powers once again to the test. He once again pressed the button under the faceplate and the core popped up.
"Eddy, wait!" Double D tried to call him but Eddy simply ignored him. However, instead of putting the core down, he noticed the dial and decided to turn it a notch. The silhouette changed into a smaller one with a huge head and hands. He turned it again and the silhouette changed into a bigger bulky figure with four arms. He kept turning the dial while looking at the silhouettes, before finally deciding on one that looked like a big dog and pressed the core down.
As he did, a green light enveloped him again and this time fur started growing all over his body, even covering his eyes, and his hands started to turn into claws. When the light died down, Eddy had turned into a giant dog-like creature with no eyes and gills that had the hourglass symbol on its right shoulder.
"Eddy is a werewolf!" Ed shouted in excitement upon seeing his friend's new form.
"Actually Ed, I don't think Eddy is a werewolf. Werewolves have eyes and ears, and transform under the full moon, but today's moon is last quarter actually" Double D informed. He then turned to look back at Eddy in his new form. "Eddy? Can you see us? Or hear us?" he asked, seeing that this creature didn't possess eyes or ears.
He waved his hand in front of his face as to emphasize that, but what he didn't know was that Eddy could smell them, especially Ed, through his gills and those gave him a thermographic vision of everything surrounding him. He let out a feral roar just to show them. This surprised Double D and made him fall on his butt out of fear and shock. Eddy's fierce predatory face soon turned into what could be best described as a smug smile.
"Oh, very funny Eddy!" Double D said in annoyance from the ground.
"Oh, you look like a doggy! Good boy!" Ed exclaimed as he patted Eddy's fur. 'Eddy' gave an annoyed growl before jumping high and onto a tree to get away from Ed petting him. This surprised both Ed and Double D. 'Eddy' then began jumping from tree to tree, going back into the woods.
"Eddy, wait! You can't just turn into some freaky animal monster thing and go swinging around the woods!" Double D exclaimed, being ignored once more.
"Wow, Eddy is such a wild-mutt, huh Double D?" Ed said.
"Come on Ed, we have to make sure Eddy doesn't get into more trouble!" Double D said as he began to run in the direction 'Eddy' had gone, soon followed by Ed.
Meanwhile, 'Wildmutt' Eddy was swinging around the trees, until his grills sensed something and alerted him on time, barely dodging an incoming laser blast that was aimed at him. He turned around to something that seemed like some kind of weird drone, before dodging more blasts from it.
'Eddy' bounced back from a tree and hit the drone with a flying kick, before jumping over it again and using his claws to rip its head off. The drone went crashing to the ground, with 'Eddy' jumping just on time before it exploded and caught on fire. Just then, the hourglass symbol on his shoulder started beeping and the red light engulfed him once more, turning him back to his normal self.
Eddy looked at the burning remaining of the drone in confusion, wondering what that thing was. "What the-?" however, as he turned around, he was confronted by an exactly duplicate drone that was in front of him. The drone scanned Eddy, detecting what it was looking for was on Eddy's wrist. The drone then proceeded to aim its cannon right on Eddy's face.
"Mommy…" Eddy muttered in fear while sweating bullets. Just as he closed his eyes and thought he was done for, he heard a voice yell, "Leave my friend alone!"
The drone turned its head around before being hit with a tree by Ed, sending it crashing into a rock. "No one is going to hurt my friend, you sparky droid of evil!" Ed exclaimed as he continued to smack it with the tree until it was a scrapped pile of metals.
"Lumpy! Thank Danny!" Eddy sighed in relief. Just then, Double D arrived running while panting from all the effort since he wasn't very athletic at all.
"Eddy... where… were… you?" said Double D between deep breathes as he put his hands on his knees, trying his best to not fall down.
"Hey Double D, check it out. What is that thing?" Eddy asked while pointing at the remaining of the drone crushed by Ed. Double D looked at it with surprise before taking out his magnifying glass and started to inspect it.
"It seems to be… some kind of robot…" Double D commented, taking a closer look, the technology it was made of was like nothing he had ever seen before.
"Yeah, duh" Eddy stated obviously. "Those things attacked me for some reason, and I'd been toasted if it wasn't for Lumpy here" Eddy said while pointing his thumb at Ed, thanking him for the rescue. "Think they were after the watch?"
"That would be my first thinking, Eddy. The watch may belong to some alien race that send them to retrieve it" Double D theorized.
"Well, they ain't taking it from me, mostly because it's attached to me, but most importantly because it's free!" Eddy exclaimed. Suddenly, a large explosion and some commotion was heard in the distance, presumably from the Cul-da-sac. "What was that?" Eddy asked.
"That can't be good, come on, we better see what's going on" Double D said.
The three then started running back to the Cul-da-sac.
Meanwhile in the Cul-da-sac:
Back to the Cul-Da-sac, the giant robot from earlier was destroying everything, blasting lasers at the trees and houses. Not too far from there, the trio arrived to see the scene.
"It's the boss robot!" Ed exclaimed with the same enthusiasm he would get when reaching the final level of one of his videogames.
"Eddy, I think now would be a good time to transform!" Double D said worriedly as he watched the giant robot's destruction.
"Wait, Double D…" Eddy responded as he putted a hand in front of him for emphasis.
"What?" Double D asked in confusion.
"…it's destroying Kevin's house!" Eddy snickered as the robot destroyed his rival's house.
"Oh my, Eddy!" Double D exclaimed in disbelief, upset at his friend's pettiness and irresponsibility.
"Okay, okay. Geez, you're worse than my mother…" Eddy muttered as he pressed the dial and started turning it, thinking which alien to pick. He passed the silhouettes of what seemed to be a ghost, an anglerfish-like man, a raptor-like creature with wheels on its feet and a giant insect with wings, before finally deciding on one. He slammed down the core and, in a flash of green light, his body started being covered by a material resembling diamond. After the green light faded, Eddy had transformed into a big green alien made of pale green diamonds with yellow eyes. He sports four crystal shards on his back and has a sharp head and wears a red and yellow with a red patch on the left shoulder where it that had the hourglass symbol on the left side of his chest.
"Cool!" Ed said with excitement at the sight of the new alien.
"Hmm, so what can this alien transformation do?" Double D asked curiously.
"I don't know" Eddy said in a deeper voice. "But I'm going to find out…" as he said that, 'Eddy' instinctively lifted his hand and put his fingers together, which then merged and his entire hand turned into a big crystal blade. "Sweet!" 'Eddy' exclaimed, content with the result.
"Hey you! Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" 'Eddy' shouted and the giant robot turned back towards him as Ed and Double D went to hide, leaving their super-powered friend to take care of this threat. The robot scanned 'Eddy' and detected the hourglass symbol on his chest, then got into battle mode and shot a laser at him, sending 'Eddy' flying to the ground.
"Okay… I tried to be nice!" 'Eddy' exclaimed as he got up and created a crystal blade with his right hand, adding small crystal coming out of it like spikes. He ran at the robot and swung his blade, but the robot jumped over him, swinging his crab-like legs in the air before falling over 'Eddy' and crushing him with his body.
"I think I'm in trouble…" 'Eddy' muttered from under the robot's legs. The giant robot lifted 'Eddy' up and tossed him around, landing near where some of the Cul-da-sac kids were hiding behind a car. 'Eddy' lifted his head to see the kids stunned and hiding in fear and, realizing they were in danger, turned around to look at Double D and Ed, who were hiding behind a mail box. "Doubl- I mean, you! The guy with the sock for head!" he shouted towards his friend.
Double D lifted his head from behind the mail box and looked at his friend, taking him a minute before realizing why he wasn't calling him by name. "I think you and the big oaf over there should take these kids to a safer place!" 'Eddy' told him.
"Yes Edd- I mean big diamond-headed guy!" Double D responded as he and Ed ran from behind the mail box.
"Diamondhead? I like that name…" 'Eddy' thought before being smacked back to reality by the giant robot.
The robot shot another blast at 'Diamondhead' Eddy, but he dodged it by rolling on the ground, then started running away while continually dodging the blasts, making the robot follow him and getting it away from the kids as Ed and Double D came to their aid.
Ed lifted his sister Sarah and her friend Jimmy over his shoulders, each sitting on one of them. "Is that one of your inventions gone rogue, Double D?" Jimmy asked from above Ed's shoulder.
"I knew you dorks were behind this!" Kevin angrily exclaimed as he cracked his knuckles, ready to pound the dorks for all of this.
"Pardon me Kevin, but I don't think I'm capable of constructing a robot like that, and if I could I wouldn't program it to attack the neighborhood like this" Double D informed while he tried to help him back on his feet.
"Who's the big green guy?" Sarah asked, from above Ed's other shoulder.
"I don't know, but he is here to help" Double D told her.
"And where is the loud-mouthed Ed-boy?" Rolf asked while he also got back on his feet.
"Eddy is… well, he's hiding somewhere…" Double D quickly lied.
"Typical cowardly Dorky" Kevin muttered. Double D decided to ignore the irony of the comment in favor of taking the kids to a safer place to hide.
Meanwhile, 'Eddy' had taken the fight to Rolf's farm, where the robot send him flying with a blast to the back. The robot then grabbed 'Eddy' and tried to rip his right arm apart. 'Eddy' thought quickly and turned his right hand into a spiky blade, ripping the robot's hand off and making it explode. The robot angrily tossed 'Eddy' at a nearby shed.
"Not Nano's shed!" Rolf shouted, his head rearing from over the fence he was hiding before Double D also got up and put his hand on his mouth, forcing Rolf to be quiet and seat before the robot noticed them.
"Did someone take the plates of the truck?" 'Eddy' said groggily as he got up.
The giant robot shot a larger laser beam at 'Eddy' with its remaining hand. 'Eddy' quickly turned around and turned his hands into blades to try and protect himself. The blades reflected the laser away into different parts. Double D noticed this and had an idea. "E- Diamondhead!" he shouted to get his attention. "Use the power of refraction!"
"The what-?" 'Diamondhead' asked in confusion before looking at his blades and turned them back into his hands as he realized what Double D meant. He then ran up and stood in front of the robot. "What are you waiting for? Give me your best shot!" Diamondhead taunted it.
The robot shot a huge laser beam at him, but Diamondhead put his hands in front of him and held the blast. The laser pushed him back but he was quick to make spikes come out of his feet and staked him into the ground, so he wouldn't be pushed back any more.
"Let's see if you like your own medicine!" Diamondhead said as he started redirecting the beam towards the robot, which got sliced in two and exploded.
"Yeah!" the kids cheered after they saw this mysterious hero had destroyed the giant robot and came out of their hiding place, rushing towards Diamondhead and circling around to congratulate him.
"That was so cool, diamond dude!" Kevin congratulated.
"Let Rolf rub the pit of victory, Mr. diamond-for-a-head-sir!" Rolf cheered as he tried to lift Diamondhead's arm to rub his armpit, but found it heavier to lift than he expected.
"Thank you for saving us! I gotta admit, you're so brave and strong!" Nazz complimented. If Diamondhead actually had skin, Eddy would have been blushing madly at this.
Eddy could barely believe this, the kids from the Cul-de-Sac cheered for him and praised him, and it felt good, it felt amazing, HE honestly felt good about HIMSELF, something that was quite rare for him. His rejoice was cut off when he heard Double D coughing at him and pointing at something in his chest. Diamondhead looked at his own chest and saw the hourglass symbol of the watch, immediately understanding what he meant.
"Oh, um… I think my work here is done…" Diamondhead said and started running away from the circle of kids, trying to jump over the fence but being too heavy to do so, he went through it instead.
"Who was that mysterious stranger?" Jimmy asked.
"I don't know, Jimmy" Sara answered.
Back in Space:
In Vilgax's ship, the droids were still repairing the ship's hull, while the robot lieutenant informed him of recent events.
"My master, the battle drone has been destroyed" the robot lieutenant reported. Vilgax let out a growl from inside his medical pod out of frustration.
"Failure?! Unbelievable! The puny Earth being that is keeping the Omnitrix from me will soon hang on my trophy wall!" Vilgax said in a dark tone, his voice filled with determination, seriousness, and most of all, anger. He would have his grand prize, no matter whose live he'll have to take in order to get back what was rightfully his.
Next Day:
Here we can see the Eds are at Ed's house, sitting on the sofa in his living room while watching TV. All news channels are talking about the strange phenomena that happened last night, in where a giant robot of unknown origin attacked a Cul-da-sac of a small town, and fought against a mysterious green creature that destroyed it. The Cul-da-sac was still destroyed from that fight and was under reparation at the very moment.
"Man, it's gonna take longer to repair the Cul-da-sac this time than when the Kankers wrecked everything…" Eddy recalled as he watched through the window.
"You know Eddy, whoever send those robots after you, they wanted the watch… and they'll probably be back sooner or later" Double D commented.
Eddy turned his head to look at him. "I know, Sockhead. But what can we do?" Eddy asked.
Double D went silent for a few minutes, seemingly wondering the same thing, before coming to a conclusion. "Well, since we cannot detach that thing from your wrist, I guess the best thing to do is for you to learn how to use it… and fast."
Eddy looked at him for a minute, before realizing what he meant and grinning. "So, you're telling me..."
"WE ARE SUPERHEROES!" Ed, who was sitting in the middle of the sofa and in between them, shouted.
"I don't know if I would put it like that… but yes, with such a powerful device, you could really use it to save people, like you did last night, and combating crime would be a great way to help" Double D stated.
Eddy took a moment to think about it. He didn't like doing things for free, but then he remembered how good the adulation from the kids felt after he saved them from the robot and made his decision. "You know what, alright, I'll do it."
"Yay! This is going to be the best summer ever!" Ed exclaimed, remembering the wish he had made to the shooting star.
"It sure is going to be interesting…" Double D commented.
"Well, what are you waiting for? We better get to it!" Eddy said in enthusiasm as he flashed the watch's dial in emphasis.

Now before going, I'll leave some trivia facts about the making of this chapter, which is something I think I'll do at the end of every chapter if you like, just to add more fun!
Trivia:
1) The title of this chapter is based on the title of the original Ben 10 series, "And then there were 10" on which the plot of this chapter is also based on. Also, Eddy getting detention due to throwing a paper plane is a reference to how Ben got detention in the actual episode.
2) Most of the chapters will be based on Ben 10 episodes, while making call backs to prior events that happened in Ed, Edd n Eddy episodes as this story takes place after the end of the series, except Big Picture Show didn't happen.
3) As you can probably tell, Eddy's Omnitrix contains the original 10 aliens Ben started with, unlike OmnitrixED in which contained a mix of OS/AF aliens picked by me. I did this in order to maintain more fidelity to the events of the original series, and as such Eddy will gain all the OS aliens in the order Ben gets them.
4) Ed's joke about eating matches was inspired by a friend of mine that actually likes to eat matches heads after using them, and I thought that really was an 'Ed thing' for him to do.
5) Ed wishing to a shooting star for something exciting to happen is actually taken from DoctorEd17's fic "Eddy 10" which along its predecessor "Eddy and the Ultimatrix" helped inspire this story.
