Authors Introduction to Story

So this is my own story in the series . It takes place after the Frogs of War arc. This will be a different take on events as I wanted to change a few things that happened, especially giving Ben actual development. This has been on my mind for a long time and I finally found the time to write it down. Hope you all enjoy!!!

Chapter 1: An Un-ice-pected Surprise

Bellwood

Mid-day

12 PM

The sun was shining upon the town, with the citizens going about their day. Through the streets, drove an orange box truck with a logo that said "Max's Plumbing" on the box. In the cab sat Ben Tennyson,a young man with green eyes and brown hair. He wore a black shirt with green accents with a 10 on the front. He wore brown pants with green and white shoes. On his wrist, he wore a device that looked like a white watch. It had a black face with green accents in the shape of an hourglass. Next to him in the drivers seat was his Revonnahgander partner, Rook Blonko. He was a feline alien with lavender fur. He wore blue and black Proto-Tech armor with his trusty, one of a kind Proto-Tech tool on his back. These two were an unstoppable duo.

Ben sighed as he looked out the window. Rook looked over,"I sense something is the matter, Ben". Ben said,"no. Nothings wrong. Things have just been quiet since the Incurseans left. Now that Attea is in charge", he replied as he sat up. Rook nodded,"isn't that a good thing?", he continued to drive. Ben said,"it is but I've been itching to kick some butt for the past week". Then, as if on cue, an explosion happened. From the hole in the wall of the building, robbers came from it. Ben smirked,"that's what I'm talking about", he touched the Omnitrix, turning the dial. He pressed the dial, becoming enveloped in a green flash. In his place was an alien that was green, almost like a plant. He had an orange and red head that looked like a flame and he had stumpy feet

"Swampfire? I can work with this", he said on a nasally voice. He threw seeds from his pits that grew into vines, stopping one of the robbers. Rook hopped out of the truck, arming his Proto-Tool and firing a net at another one of the robbers. Ben said to Rook,"nice shot, but you can't beat this", he threw a flame at the third robber but it missed, blowing up the getaway car and sending the third robber flying backwards. Swampfire's eyes widened,"whoa, not what I was trying to do but it worked out". Rook said,"perhaps it is best if you check the surroundings next time"

Swampfire scoffed,"I knew there was no one there". There was a 4th robber trying to run away, but was stopped by Rooks Proto-Tool grappling arm. At that moment, Swampfire was enveloped by the green light and turned to Ben,"well..that's that", he smiled to himself as Rook tied up the bad guys and said,"I hope you got the..butt kicking you were looking for". Ben shrugged,"it'll do for now", he said, clearly not satisfied but more would come later. The two left and went to the Mr. Smoothies. They sat at a table as Ben sucked down his grape smoothie. Rook didn't share the same enthusiasm for the beverage as Ben did. He thought they were alright but not as great as Ben thought. Ben sighed,"hopefully there will be some more excitement soon. I need some action". Rook replied,"perhaps you should enjoy this free time you have. You rarely get it". As much as Ben hated to admit it, Rook was right. He never had downtime as the world was always under attack. Perhaps for once,he could relax

But it would not last. The Omnitrix comm went off. Ben answered,"yes Grandpa?". A voice came through,"Ben. You might want to get down here. There's a guest for you. And it's a special one"

Ben looked at Rook and the two of them left. They arrived at a shop that read Max's Plumbing and took the secret elevator down. Inside the base was other Plumber agents doing their normal jobs. Mission reports, training, that sort of thing. The two of them walked up to the command center. There stood a man in a red Hawaiian shirt, white pants and brown shoes. He had grey hair and was reading a data pad. This was Ben's grandfather, Max Tennyson, one of the greatest Plumbers on record. He looked up,"Ben, glad you could make it", he said as he put the pad down. Ben nodded,"sounded urgent over the comms", Ben replied,"who's our mystery guest?". Max gestures for Ben and Rook to follow him to the medical wing

And there, was a sight Ben never thought he would see

Sitting in a chair, was a little girl. She had blue hair with a brown streak in it. Beautiful green eyes. She had normal skin with blue blemishes on her body. She had wings in her back that fluttered when she looked up at Ben with curiosity. She looked just like him. She looked about 5 years old biologically, but she was only 2 or so. She was wearing clothes the plumbers gave to her.

Ben was taken aback and nearly passed out from shock. Max and Rook caught him. Ben said,"I...I'm a father..".The child said,"father..I go?", she said with sadness in her voice, those little eyes tearing up. Ben knew exactly which one this was. He approached the child and kneeled, pulling her into a hug,"no..never again.. I'm so sorry I made you go..", he teared up,"you're home now sweetie..". The little girl hugged her father, clinging to him

Rook watched from behind Max. This was astonishing. He heard the story of Ben having the kids but he didn't believe it.

Max smiled at the sight. His grandson becoming a father was something he didn't expect but it was happening, even if it was weird circumstances. He patted his grandsons back,"congratulations, son..but we need to figure out what to do about your current living situation". Ben nodded,"looks like I have to get a job...drop out of school..:but it'll be worth it", he smiled as he held his daughter. Max held up his hand ,"there is no need for that. We will arrange for you to graduate early and get you a full time job with the plumbers. That way you'll have your diploma and can provide for your child"

Ben turned to face Max,"really?! I can still graduate??!!". Max smiled and nodded,"of course. You just have to pass the final exam and you'll graduate with the current class. Then we can fully induct you into the Plumbers. You're going to do great, son", he patted Ben's shoulder,"now..I suggest you head home to introduce your parents to your new addition. I'm sure you have a lot of explaining to do", he said and faced Rook,"come with me, Rook. I have something to discuss with you", Max said as he and Rook walked away, leaving Ben alone with his daughter

Ben smiled,"ready to go meet your grandparents?". The little girl tilted her head,"what are those?". Ben explained,"they're my parents. Basically what I am to you. They're going to love you", he said as he tickled her, causing the girl to giggle . Ben said,"you need a name..", he rubbed his chin as he began to think on what to call her

Then it came to him

Her name would be Evelynn Ruby Tennyson or Evie for short

He took her hand and the two walked towards the elevator, leaving

As he strapped her into his car, he thought to himself,"how am I going to tell mom and dad?"

Meanwhile, in the reaches of space, there was a ship making its way towards Earth, and inside it, stood a shadowy figure, holding a data pad with information on all of Ben's enemies. He swiped through them all,"and now...I will succeed where they all failed", he sat it down as he approached a pod

Dark days were coming

And that is Chapter One of the fic. I've spent hours racking my brain on what to write but I think it's pretty good. I took inspiration for Evie from a fic called Alternate Alien, which had the kids name as Lumi. And Ben will have a love interest or love interests . About 6.
