It took him a few seconds to register the bleeding starting from the cut on his arm. Wide eyed, like a curious child, Tyrian swiped his finger over his elbow to the top of his palm, wiping the thin line of blood away. Tyrian watched in amusement as he rubbed the blood with his fingers.
This was becoming so exciting for him that he let out a terrifying cackle.
"Ohoho~ You've been training hard, haven't you?" the Faunus snapped his head at a certain woman with sheep's ears.
"Thanks for noticing." Fiona panted, clutching to her weapon with all her might, ignoring her own body begging to take a break. Ignoring the pain going through her, Fiona wiped her forehead, not taking her olive green eyes away from Tyrian for even a second.
She won't let this man make a fool out of her, like he did back at the election.
Impressed by how the woman was still standing after fighting him one on one, Tyrian let out a proud huff. Crossing his hands behind his back and lowering himself to the other Faunus's level.
"I'll admit you did very well…" he admitted, noticing the Huntress's face light up. "...if we compare how you were when we first met," he snorted, with his comment leaving a huge sting on Fiona's self-confidence.
Like Tyrian she too was a Faunus and as Faunus she had a night vision, but even with it, Fiona still managed to miss Tyrian's attack, making her a burden on her team. No matter how many times her team reassured her that she wasn't, the gnawing feeling in her heart continued to tear Fiona apart.
The criminal slightly tilted his head. "Oh, don't feel too bad about what happened back there." he continued, taking a few steps towards the Huntress. "You did your role very well." Tyrian's tone become calmer, raising unease in Fiona. Didn't help with how his eyes were focused on her like a prey waiting for a chance to strike.
"The wide-eyed woman who had hopes for the future…dying before seeing her dream come true…" he cooed, stopping in his steps. "Too bad you couldn't commit to it FULLY!" he roared, launching himself at her. Fiona rushed backwards, without missing a beat, and moved out the way, avoiding his wrist blades just in time they came close to her neck area, only cutting off a tiny bit of the ends of her hair.
Ending up on the cold floor, Fiona quickly took her weapon, forcing herself up and pushed the criminal against a wall, with her weapon held upwards, so that the sharp ends of the ax landed against Tyrian's neck. Slight move from his side and there would be blood in one swing and the man was aware of it, but his eyes moving down on the woman catching her breath, made him curious if she genuinely will go through with this.
What if this will be her first time taking a life? Because if that would be the case, if his blood would be the first one to cover her arms then he would gladly see the look in her eyes, before life leaves his…of course, if Tyrian doesn't kill her first. Which was more likely than her taking his life.
"Fine." the criminal thought. "I'll play along." and he lowered his tail, raising his hands in defeat as well. The best way to defeat someone is to let them think they've won.
Seeing Tyrian admit defeat, Fiona felt a dose of pride hit her heart. She had gotten separated from her team during a Grimm attack and her coming across Tyrian would have made things a lot worse, but Fiona didn't train harder to run away from him.
"Too bad you couldn't finish your job." she announced, her whole body slightly trembling. "Now you have to deal with me."
Tyrian whistled. "The nice one of the group has snark. What a twist." he sarcastically said. "I'm full of surprises today." she looked at him with caution.
"Wouldn't you say?" a proud smile appeared on the Faunus's face. "No more that weak lady you met previously, huh?"
Tyrian raised an eyebrow, before letting out a laugh. "Oh, yes, yes, you've improved, congrats. But just one question…"
"What is it?"
His stinger shot straight at her. Startled, Fiona moved her weapon to block it, only to realize seconds later she had just freed Tyrian's neck from her ax. But it was now too late. The criminal jumped at her, pinning the Huntress down. His hands and knees holding down hers, their faces were inches apart. His goldish eyes burning right at Fiona. If the woman could, she would gladly slam her head against his.
"Is this really the best you can offer to me?" he sneered. "Hold the ax until what?" Tyrian leaned in closer, their foreheads touching. "Your team finds you and you hand me off to the police?" he let out a terrifying laugh. Fiona's cheeks flushed red over his words. What was her plan indeed? "Oh, dear, we both know you can do so much better than that."
"I'll kill you." Fiona hissed, anger brewing inside her. Tears of anger followed soon after. "For everything you have done."
"You promise?" he cooed, lifting his head. "Because you had the chance and you missed it."
"Don't worry. I never repeat my mistakes." she said through clenched teeth. "And I'll make sure the next time we meet, you'll be dead!"
Tyrian licked his lips, excited. He could see the determination in her eyes. Maybe killing her would be fun after all.
"Then please~" he smiled widely with a crazy look in his eyes. "Don't disappoint me…or yourself."
Fiona didn't look away. When she first saw his haunting eyes, shivers went down her spine even when he crossed her mind, but now she felt no fear.
"I won't."
Suddenly the weight of him on her went away. Tyrian got up, his eyes continuing to stay on the other Faunus. This time he wasn't looking at her like a prey. He was smiling.
"Good to hear. Till next time then." Tyrian whispered out, before running away outside the building to who knows where. Fiona wanted to follow, but the bruises and cuts she got from the fight let themselves known at that moment. Falling back on the cold floor, she caught her breath.
She almost had died. Again.
"What a crazy day…" she murmured out, before finding the strength to get up. There were still Grimm to fight after all.
