A while later, everyone was eating the special dinner made for the big occasion.
"This chicken is the best," Jasmine said.
"Learning about Asian culture is so much fun," Lillie said.
"Sky taught you about Asian culture?" Peter asked.
"No," Lillie answered. "But sweet Ms. Kitty."
"Really?" Emma asked.
"Yeah," Kitty answered. "I taught Lillie some K-pop dance moves and showed her about Japanese massages. We even gave Priya one together."
"What happened to Priya?" Ellody asked.
"You try carrying homework that feels like metal everyday," Priya answered.
"And she also had to carry some camera equipment as well," Millie said.
"Can't she just use the camera app on her phone?" Courtney asked.
"That's what Julia told her," Millie answered. "But some people just love going old school."
"So," Millie said to Peter. "Still unbelievable that you and Sky are why all these ladies here, or a majority of those here, love going barefoot."
"Thanks," Peter said. "It's like a gift I have."
"You should see the artwork he made of us," Gwen said.
"What can I say?" Peter commented. "I love that kind of progress."
"Progress, my butt," MK said. "Can't even get a job at Rainbow Shops."
"What?" Lindsay asked in shock. "You didn't get the job? I'm sorry."
"What does that Rainbow Shops store have against you?" Star asked.
"It's a no barefoot zone," MK guessed with sarcasm. "And even if it wasn't, Emma, Kitty and I all can't go in there because we're Asian."
"What?" Samey asked. "Sweetheart, that's terrible. Are you sure that's the reason?"
"Yeah," Millie answered. "Some kids at school ran into Chloe the manager last week. They said Chloe stated Asian people are too gross to be around, so she bans them from entering Rainbow Shops."
"Nobody discriminates against our kind," Emma said. "We're gonna bust 'em, we're gonna shut 'em down by any means necessary."
"And you're looking at two lawyers who could be judges if we wanted to," Courtney said. "We can make it happen."
"Now wait a second," Peter said.
"I agree," Zoey said. "What evidence do we have? Some fairy tale kids made up at school?"
"I just want this whole thing dropped," MK stated. "Okay?"
"Wait another second," Carrie said. "No one said you should just give up."
"Get real," MK commented. "Even if they did believe me, I'm just one person. I can't change the world."
"Now look here, MK!" Millie said. "If Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King had the same attitude, we'd still be sitting in the back of the bus."
"Not only that," Peter said. "But if the same thing happened with old Mister Brown and those 4 kids, none of us would even be going to school together."
"So, what are you guys saying?" MK asked.
"Yeah," Kitty said. "This is Asian people we're talking about."
"Listen," Bridgette said. "The point we're trying to make is, yes. You can fight this. If this woman is going to admit that she's a racist, you've got to be there to hear her say it."
"But she'll never say it to her face," Emma said. "We already know she'll never say it to me."
"Wait," MK said. "Maybe it wasn't my face. I have to call Julia before she quits."
"Also," Millie started adding. "Only the boys can go in there. Us girls can't because we no longer wear anything on our feet, except MK."
"Thankfully," Emma said.
"We all know some boys who can help." Everyone nodded.
"This is gonna be good," Gwen said.
She, Courtney, Emma, Lindsay, Zoey and Crimson gave an evil laugh.
"That has me worried," Lillie said.
"I got you," Sky said.
She then gave Lillie a comforting hug, which Lillie thanked her for.
Outside Rainbow Shops, Nora O'Donnell was with them.
"Thank you so much for coming down here and helping us out, miss Donnell," Peter said.
"I should be thanking you," Nora told her. "This type of discrimination needs to be exposed."
"MK's nearly prepared," Devin said. "Now, Julia, remember, the mini camera is in your hat, so when Chloe says something incriminating, make sure the hat gets it, okay?"
"I will," Julia told Devin.
"And don't nod your head so much," Nora said.
"Ok," Julia said.
"MK's getting ready," Nora told the others. "You guys know the plan. Let's go get our story."
Julia then walked into the store, walking up on Chloe.
"Hi Chloe," Julia said. "Ready for my first day. Like the hat?"
"It's cool," Chloe said. "And trendy. While I go think about making one, you can keep a really close eye on that guy over there."
One specific person was mentioned.
"Chloe," Julia called. "What about all the other customers, though?"
"Julia," Chloe said into the camera. "Certain kinds of people need a little more attention."
"Right," Julia said. "You mean bald people."
Chloe told Julia that wasn't what she meant before walking off. A disguised figure walked up to her asking if there was a problem.
"No," Julia answered. "Just keeping an eye out on the baldies. You know, until my friend MK gets here."
The disguised figure was MK, which is what she told Julia.
"What?" Julia asked. "My gosh, girl. That's a cool disguise. I would've totally never guessed it was you."
"I know," MK commented. "I wore this for Halloween last year."
Chloe returned and told Julia she's handling this customer, which she happily agreed on before walking off.
"Can I help you?" Chloe asked. "Can I show you anything? Can I hold this for you?"
"Do you have any idea who I am, young lady?" the customer commented.
"Would you be…" Chloe started.
"That's right," the customer answered. I am Marvin C. Sweet-back. I have been named the new general manager of women's International clothing."
"I'm sorry," Chloe said. "I wasn't expecting you."
"Please inform me of the status of this retail establishment as vis-Ã -vis sales and so forth, and such which."
"Everything's great. Wonderful. Sales are up."
"You know what is not up, ma'am? Signs announcing our Asian American Heritage Month sale."
"Oh, snap! I didn't know we were having one."
"But you are aware this is Asian American Heritage month, aren't you?"
"Of course. I celebrate it every year. I wish every month was Asian American Heritage month."
"Very curious. You do hire people of Asian descent, don't you?"
"Actually, Mr. Sweet-back…"
"It is general Sweet-back to you, ma'am. U.S. army retired. 2 stars. I am now in women's clothing. Well, clearly right now I am dressed as a man."
"Yes. Well General, sir, I did see a wonderful applicant yesterday, and I believe she's of the Asian American persuasion. Here it is. Named MK."
"Yes, I do believe that's a very good choice, ma'am."
"Very good choice."
Outside the store, Devin's phone rang. Unfortunately, it was a scam call.
"Alright!" he called out. "Whoever thought it was a good idea to scam me with a phone call, you do it again? You're getting your tail end kicked!"
"Yeah!" Kitty said. "Scamming Asian people like that is never any fun, especially this time of year!"
Chloe and general Sweet-back chuckled.
"People are crazy," Chloe said.
"Agreed," General Sweet-back commented.
"Now what were we discussing?"
"Asian Americans. I think we should have people like this working in this establishment, don't you?"
"Yeah. Those people should so come on over."
"Beyond delightful. As a matter of fact, I'm here to apply for a job. Is that going to be a problem?"
"No. Of course not. Let me get you an application."
