Okay, let's get started with the reviews!
Epifanio Therion (review from Ep.2 on Ao3):
- Epi, dude, sorry that I didn't see your review from Ep.3, but I'll still respond to it! Yes, I agree - Total Drama can get weird sometimes, but hey, weirdness can stir draw up the drama. The lack of instructions was to get the contestants to think more on their feet and to simply make it through the night while handling the creature… until Shion, Buck and Mork cut it short lol. And yes, every contestant can agree, they can only deal with so much Erin. Charlize and Jacob are the ones struggling for power - Charlize is outspoken and demanding it forthright, while Jacob is the calm one and slowly trying to control from the sounds of it; to see how it really goes down, just keep reading each new episode. ^U^ And I am glad you enjoyed Ep.3! Got more craziness happening still!
Episode 5 - Bloody Maze:
"In the last episode, we had our duets," Chris spoke as he yawned a small bit, the camera following him as he walked across LV grounds. "Four groups of two sang for each team, so we had eight parody songs done in that episode. We had our drama. Some got bossy. There's a possible cat fight in the future. Power struggles are showing. But it was Buck who got the worst note... well, score and was booted off the show."
He stopped in front of a large glass building where inside, it was filled with all sorts of plants.
"Past these greenhouse doors is the location of our challenge. What will happen to our contestants as we go through the episode? I have no idea. What will they be facing? You'll find out soon. Who will lose and be sent home? Find out at the end of this episode of Total Drama LV!"
A hummingbird buzzed near Chris and he awed at it as it flew away. "Wasn't that little bird cute?"
Moments later, the hummingbird buzzed back but with five more following right behind it heading straight for Chris.
"NOT CUTE! I TAKE IT BACK!" Chris yelled as he ran away in a panic.
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine (A camera zooms in on Brett who is currently fixing another camera and he glances away for a second; at that moment Erin plugs something in and the camera explodes on them both).
You guys are on my mind. (Shion is seen reading over some music lyrics in a recording booth with Lloyd on the other side; Shion puts on the headphones as Lloyd plugs in a cord and he is instantly shocked, quickly Lloyd runs into the room to apologize to him).
You asked me what I wanted to be (Buck is seen fixing up a motorcycle and a spray of paint flies onto him as the camera pans out to see Quinn holding a can of spray paint; but Buck laughs it off).
And now I think the answer is plain to see, (V and Capone were seen tied back to back with wide smiles on their faces as Chef, angry and red in the face, slams a large pot before them).
I wanna be famous (Antoinette and Chelsea are seen on stage doing poses before Laverne shoved them aside and struts with a perfect smile on her face).
I wanna live close to the sun, (Mikata was seen meditating before being startled by Mork mixing his EDM music out loud nearby him).
Go pack your bags, 'cause I've already won. (Vernon is seen writing a song before Jacob pulls it from him to read the lyrics for approval, but Charlize snapped it out of his hands with a growl on her face).
Everything to prove nothing in my way, (Luna was seen at a computer, a smirk forming on her face as glowing green smoke formed around her).
I'll get there one day. (Vivian was seen practicing a gymnastic routine, but slipped on a towel that she left on the mat with an embarrassed look on her face).
Cause, I wanna be famous! (Shane was seen opening a box full of fireworks and quickly running off with them before a crew member caught him).
Na na na, na na na, (Yvez was seen going behind a large screen as a light turned on, her shadow visible on the screen as she began dancing).
Na na na, na na na, na na na! (Quinton was seen looking at a computer, typing in some numbers before it short circuits on him and he switches to pen and paper).
Na na na, na na na,(Rival is seen running after crying Erin down a long hallway but he blinks, sees that she wasn't there and slumps down a wall his hands covering his face).
Na na na, na na na, na na na! (Quaoar was seen battling off some remote control fight robots with his swords and yawns as they were too easy for him until one comes out with chainsaw attached or its arms; grinning with anticipation for this fight).
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous (Mag and Chris were seen arguing with each other and she roughly shoved him away, bolting out of the area with an angry look on her face while leaving him worried/frustrated).
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous! (Black and white cutouts of different creatures and people scroll on the screen of who was to appear on the season).
(Whistling in tune, the contestants are seen hanging out around a lounge pool area. Chef and Chris appear soon enough, but everyone is startled/fleeing/anticipating a fight by the exploding sounds of fireworks before a camera zooms in on a table top with TDLV carved onto it).
The first people up for the day were – Luna, Rival, Quaoar, Mag, Charlize, V, Vivian, Brett, Mork and Jacob. Things were pretty quiet for everyone as not everyone was up yet. The performances they did for the fourth episode and the elimination scene had gone a bit late into the night, so most were still tired.
"Should we wake up the others?" Rival asked as he popped a whole pop-tart into his mouth, hoping that he might get some sort of sugar-rush from it. Before anyone could say anything, they heard Chris's loud voice.
"ATTENTION EVERYONE! GET YOUR BUTTS UP AND MOVING!" Chris's voiced boomed through his megaphone. The ones who were up could see him outside, standing in front of the building with five large speakers on a trailer next to him. "GET YOUR BUTTS TO THE OUTSIDE PERFORMANCE STAGE WITHIN THE NEXT TWENTY MINUTES! THAT IS ALL!"
That said, Chris walked away from building while a few interns pulled the trailer with the speakers away. Most of the contestants were groaning at this news, while others had unpleasant looks on their faces. Those who had been asleep were now awake by Chris's announcement, most unpleased at being woken up "early".
By the end of twenty minutes, everyone was at the performance stage. Most were yawning as they were still tired, but everyone was wondering what was happening today. Shion was seen poking Vivian, who was nodding back into sleep.
"Okay, today, you may or may not get to rest your vocal cords," Chris spoke into a microphone, startling them awake as he got onto the stage. "Today is going to a parkour-survival kind of day. So, no songs today."
Everyone stared at him completely confused as to what he was talking about now. This brought an annoyed look to his face.
"Okay, to the far right side of this property," Chris spoke as he pointed with his right arm, "but it's your guy's left, is a greenhouse. That greenhouse only has three access points to today's challenge, but one is locked. Head there now and wait inside in the center of the greenhouse where you will be told the rest."
"Why didn't you tell us to go there first?" Jacob asked. "That would have been more appropriate."
Charlize soon piped up, "Why can't you tell us the rest of the challenge right now?"
"Because I have the feeling that you guys would get lost if I did tell you to go there first," Chris spoke annoyed. "And why I can't tell you the rest is because I need to call for a medical team to be on stand by. I mean, I have no idea what's in that maze and Sephiria doesn't want anyone hurt or well... dead. Especially for those who remember the stuff that happened on Candela's seasons."
Everyone blinked at him and those that had been on both seasons remembered what happened to them or to others.
"So, stop sitting around here and get moving," Chris told them.
Everyone grumbled at him as they headed off once more.
"Why didn't he tell us to go there first, oh my god!" Antoinette stated.
"It's Chris," Yvez, Rival, Brett and Charlize all spoke at once.
"And he did say that he didn't trust us heading there first," Vivian spoke up. Antoinette turned her head towards Vivian, sending her a death glare.
After a while of walking, everyone arrived at the doors of the greenhouse. It stood about two maybe three stories tall, with silver metal framing and done completely in glass but it was easy enough to see all the plants inside. Walking over to the glass, Mork stared at the sign that was on the window.
"What you see here is bulletproof and fire-proof glass. If you are inside when a lockdown happens, then you are safe. If you are the enemy, no escape," Mork spoke. "Also note, there are hidden cameras. Have fun."
"Talk about the extra security," Lloyd spoke up.
"It is necessary after what happened with Candela's show," Laverne commented. "And who knows what will happen here."
"Hey, there's a second sign," Viviane pointed out. " It says "For LV - Do NOT harm the animals at all. You will meet your end." That sounds... harsh."
"By end, does mean death or us getting kicked off?" Shion asked, a confused look on his head.
"Worry about it later, let's get inside already!" Charlize snapped at them, marching for the doors.
Walking into the building, passing by plants that were common to ones that appeared to be out of a science fiction movie, until they saw Chris in the center of the building with a disgruntled look on his face.
"Really, you guys took almost ten minutes to get here?" Chris asked them.
"It's a loooong walk," Chelsea complained.
"We stopped to read two signs," Mag spoke, a smirk on her face.
"If we get stuck here, there's no escape," V spoke up. "I want to see you try to escape f***ing from this place, Chris."
"Sorry nope, I don't plan to get stuck here," Chris spoke. "I have an escape route from this place."
"How?" Quaoar asked him, stepping on a vine with his foot that had started to creep up on him and it quickly retreated from him.
"Nope, not telling," Chris spoke. "It's my little secret."
"Probably from one of the open ceiling windows," Yvez spoke, pointing up to one of them. "Or escape through the air conditioning unit. How else does this greenhouse get air?"
"Okay, you, shut up," Chris spoke with an annoyed look. "But onto the challenge. It's time for your guy's first maze!"
Everyone just stared at him with a blank face.
"In today's challenge, you will be facing two things," Chris spoke. "You will be facing off Chef and hummingbirds."
"Why him?" Chelsea asked.
"Why hummingbirds?" Capone asked.
"Why not?" Chris asked them back. "Anyways, let's get on with the details for this already. The maze that you are about to enter only has three points, but as I said one is still locked, that you can enter and exit from only two points. Now, this maze is literally huge. The walls are roughly sixteen feet tall, so it will be really hard to jump over them. Escape will be impossible for you guys."
"So, we're just sitting ducks?" Yvez spoke up.
"Yup, the perfect sitting ducks," Chris said happily with a large smile on his face. "But during the whole thing, you will be required to find certain pieces of a sculpture."
"What kind of sculpture?" Charlize questioned.
"Good question," Chris spoke. "You each will be building the same sculpture, but the two sculptures has two colors, only one color on the two is the same. The sculpture is of the Aztec God, Huitzilopochtli. He is the god of the sun and of war. Serene Hadar, your sculpture is done in red with gold detailing. Celestial Procyon, yours is white with gold detailing. The pieces are all throughout the maze, you have to bring them back here when I say your time in the maze is over."
"So, this episode is Aztec theme?" Shion spoke up.
"Pretty much," Chris said. "And Sephiria updated me on the maze. There are poison darts, poison frogs, pits that either have traps or not, hired bodyguards dressed up as Aztec warriors... you know what. The whole place is dangerous. So yeah, it's a death trap here."
Everyone stared at him, most with looks saying "are you kidding me" on. This made Chris laugh a small bit.
"Team Procyon you go through the left access point, while Hadar goes through the right access point," he said, pointing at the teams respective doors. "You also have like... four minutes to get started before Chef bursts in and starts paintballing you."
"You couldn't have told us earlier?" Jacob commented.
"Nope," Chris said with a smile on his face. "As of now, three minutes and twenty seconds to get running. Also, watch out and do not harm the hummingbirds. Sephiria has the rule that she does not want her birds harmed. You can work in teams if you want too, but you're free to go solo. NOW GET RUNNING!"
Everyone rushed off towards the doors, as Chris smirked at them from behind. Seeing the doors close, Chris broke out laughing.
"Oh man!" Chris laughed, "I can't believe they fell for it! Chef is already in there, waiting for them!"
Team Procyon
"Man, this maze is huge," Capone spoke to the rest of his team, pulling a baseball out of his pocket and tossed it up and down, catching it in his hand over and over again.
"It's weird we haven't run into anything yet," Vernon spoke.
"And now we got jinxed," Chelsea complained, repeatedly tugging at a single lock of her hair.
"Can you stop messing with your hair?" Charlize spoke, before everyone heard her let out scream and looked behind them to see a pit that they had all walked over. Looking down the pit, they saw Charlize gripping onto a thick root nearly seven to eight feet down. Looking further down the pit, they could see something moving at the bottom of the pit.
"What else did Chris say about this maze?" Shion asked, looking at his team.
"It's a death trap," Quaoar answered.
"So, what's at the bottom of the pit then?" Laverne asked, eyes wide with fear of what could be at the bottom.
"JUST GET ME OUT OF HERE!" Charlize screamed at the top of her head.
Team Hadar
"Did you guys hear that scream?" Lloyd asked, looking at some of his teammates.
"Yeah," Brett commented, looking in the direction that it came from.
"Oh my god, that was Charlize," Vivian gasped out, covering her mouth.
"What the h*** did she do now?" V asked, crossing her arms.
"Probably walked into something," Antoinette laughed. "This might make her quit the show!"
"Rival where are you going?" Brett asked, staring at Rival who was walking away from them.
"To where the damsel is," he laughed, throwing a wink at them. "Someone has to laugh at her."
The rest of Team Hadar looked at each other, unsure on what to say to him.
"Let's just keep moving," Brett said, Mikata nodding in agreement and started to walk once more.
"Don't take another step Mikata," Luna commented, making him immediately freeze.
"Wh-Why?" He stuttered out, freezing on his spot.
Luna's hand pulled a small piece of broken stone from the wall and dropped it onto the spot that Mikata was about to set his foot down upon. Shoving him back as she stepped back, everyone saw and heard darts flying by right in front of them.
"Crap. Poison darts," Lloyd said.
"Just our luck," Yvez said, crossing her arms.
Mikata's Confessional Scene:
"I-I almost-st got m-my team p-p-poison."
Team Procyon
"So, the creatures down below have to be poisonous," Shion said, looking down. "But it's so hard to see what they are exactly."
"Do we have anything long enough to reach her?" Mag asked. "Human chain will be hard to do."
Laverne's Confessional Scene:
"I'd rather win than those this challenge, so we need to get moving on this."
Mork's Confessional Scene:
"How did we all not fall into the pit, while Charlize did?"
Everyone heard the sound of a blade plunging into dirt, where they saw Quaoar jumping down from wall to wall where he reached Charlize. The two stared at each other face-to-face; one terrified, while the other was expressionless. Glancing down below, he could see the slithering movements of the creatures below them.
"Grab hold," Quaoar commented, as he readied himself to jump back up again. Quickly, Charlize grabbed onto him and just as swiftly as he came down, he swiftly got them back up.
"Now that we got Charlize up here," Jacob spoke up. "Let's get moving, grab our pieces and get out of this maze."
"We can't just do it simply like that," Charlize snapped at him, brushing off the dirt that had accumulated on her. "We need to slowly maneuver our way through the maze, figure out the traps and how to avoid them. Along with Chef."
"That will take us hours," Jacob snapped back at her. "We don't have hours."
"We don't know how much time we actually have in this maze!" She yelled out, as almost everyone on the team looked back and forth between each other, unsure if they should jump into the conversation.
"Sc*** this," Mag muttered under her breath, tugging on Vernon and Shion's sleeves to follow her.
"Coming with you," Laverne said to Mag, really quickly. Looking at each other, Vernon just shrugged and the four quickly left the area.
"You know what," Chelsea snapped out. "I'm not going to stand here all day! You are both a headache!"
"You come back here right now!" Charlize snapped.
"Make me "mom"," Chelsea mocked at her, continuing to walk away from her, nose in the air.
"BYE!" Capone called out, running away from them.
Charlize's Confessional Scene:
"What is wrong with this team?"
Team Hadar
"Should we split into teams?" Vivian asked, looking at her teammates.
"We are even out now," V spoke in agreement, commenting on how Rival left them just to laugh at someone. "And it would be harder for Chef to get us."
"Who wants to partner with who?" Lloyd asked, looking at his teammates. "Cause we need to choose fast."
"Antoinette," Vivian quickly commented, standing next to her. "So, next person pick now."
Everyone stared at her with looks that questioned her choice, but decided it would be best to question her about it later.
Vivian's Confessional Scene:
"I got a letter from my mom and well... she told me to grow a spine... and take out the competition too. And shove this meek little girl back into the closet."
"I'll go with you Lloyd," Brett commented, as he walked over to Lloyd, the two doing a high-five.
"I'll take Mikata," Luna said, putting a hand on his shoulder with a small smile on her face as she looked at Mikata.
"C-C-Cool." Mikata stuttered out, uneasy about the decision.
"Alright, then Yvez and V, you two are a team now," Lloyd said. "Best of luck guys."
"Remember, we need all the pieces to win," Yvez told them before walking off with V behind her.
"I'm not surprised that we're not singing in this episode," Antoinette said. "But oh my god. We better get better songs in the next singing challenge. I mean, all of those songs in the last episode sucked. Why couldn't we... oh I don't know, just sing the original lyrics?"
"Ummm, hello, copyright? You heard of it right?" Vivian asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms.
"Annnnnd?" Antoinette said, jabbing a finger into Vivian.
"Do you want a second broken nose?" Vivian asked, glaring at Antoinette.
Vivian's Confessional Scene:
"Oh my god. I can't believe I just said that," she said, gasping and covering her mouth, terror washing over her.
Antoinette's Confessional Scene:
"I can't believe she just said that! And to me!" She stated, covering her nose. "She better not if she wants to stay for another episode!"
"Y-You better not!" Antoinette said, snapping at her as she took a step away.
"I will if you don't shut up!" Vivian said, as a hand was immediately clamped over her mouth. Looking at Antoinette, a man dressed in Aztec warrior clothing had his hand over her mouth as well and two others were next to them with spears ready. Gulping, the four men quickly led them through a hidden door in one of the maze's walls and down into darkness as the door behind them closed.
"God, is there anything interesting at all in this maze?" V asked, as they walked about. Looking around, Yvez stopped short and stared down a pathway before letting out a deep sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Oh what?" V asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"We walked in a circle," Yvez told her, with a cold look on her face.
"You've got to be... Well, at least we can say we circled the maze and found nothing," V spoke, a half smirk on her face.
"Let's just go," Yvez said, walking away from V.
V's Confessional Scene:
"And the coldest person on earth goes to... drum roll please... Yvez. Seriously? Does she ever smile or laugh? At least everyone else can."
"So, which way do we want to turn?" V asked, as the path they were on split in two different directions. "I say right."
"Left," Yvez commented, looking down the left path. As silence fell over them, it was quickly shattered by the sound of two guys screaming.
"What the heck?" V asked, trying to figure out where the scream came from and who screamed exactly.
"Man, can't believe Chef got us to go this way," Lloyd said, covering his face; not even five minutes after separating the two had fell down a pit. Luckily, there was nothing dangerous in it that could kill them. "We are so going to be on the chopping block."
"Yeah, this really sucks for us," Brett said as he looked up. The walls were smoothed and too hard to even rip dirt out to make holes that they could grab onto.
"How long will we be stuck down here?" Lloyd asked, leaning against a different wall of the pit.
"About ten minutes," Brett answered him.
"So... seen any good movies?" Lloyd asked, as he got up onto his feet and accidently shoved a small segment of the wall in.
At that point, the wall behind Lloyd gave away, revealing a secret passageway that led somewhere.
"Should we?" Lloyd asked, staring at Brett.
"It it means getting out of this whole, definitely," Brett commented, as the two entered the passageway together.
"So-So w-what are we g-going to do?" Mikata spoke to Luna, who was checking on things in her pocket as they continued walking down one of the longest paths in the maze.
"We need to disrupt the other team," Luna told him. "Yeah, finding the statue pieces are our priority, but making sure the other team doesn't get theirs is a priority too."
"S-smart," he said, looking down at his feet.
Checking her pockets, she looked to see that she had smoke-bombs and knock out bombs the size of paintballs, and actual paintballs on her; other than that she didn't have much else. But a smile grew on her face at the fact that she had paintballs stashed on her and quickly putting them back in her pockets. They'll most certainly be useful.
Luna's Confessional Scene:
"It wouldn't hurt to make both teams think Chef is right on their heels."
She slipped the tiny smoke and knockout bombs back into her pockets, making a mental note to use the knockout ones when necessary and the smoke bombs to make her escapes. Coming up to a corner, she glanced around it to see that no one was there and motioned at Mikata that it was safe to continue forth. One the other side of the wall, she could hear someone talking.
"What the heck?" Rival spoke as he peered down the hole that Charlize had originally fallen in. "I missed having a good laugh."
In a quick second, he felt something sliding down the back of his neck and quickly looked around. Wiping the back of his neck, he saw a streak of pinkish-purple paint on his hand.
"Chef," he muttered on his breath and quickly darted off before he could take another hit. One the other side of the wall, Luna was hanging onto it, a smile on her face knowing that she made a good hit and used the first paintball successfully.
Rival's Confessional Scene:
"Well, crap," he said. "I didn't get the chance to laugh at her."
"Wh-What was th-that for?" Mikata asked, looking at Luna as they walked away.
"One, everyone here wants to win, so they'll want to knock you out first," she told him. "Two, knock them out first and you get a leg up. Whether they're a teammate or not."
"B-But he-he's o-" Mikata started up.
"Are you determined to win this game? Because he is," she warned him. "Plus, if our team loses, we can vote him off as we know he went off to laugh at someone in peril."
"So, where does this go?" Brett asked, keeping his hands on a wall as it was too dark to see if there was a turn or a dead end coming up on them.
"Dude, I have no idea," Lloyd answered him, keeping his hands on the other wall on the passageway. "Is this a maze beneath the maze?"
"That's a good question," Brett told him, as they made a turn and saw a light ahead. "Light!"
Lloyd let out a small cheer and ran for the light, stopping short as he stared at the room. "What the-"
"What?" Brett asked, walking up behind him and stared at the room before them.
Three lights hang from the ceiling, a table was in the middle of the room with weapons decorating the wall.
"Uhhh... think this is an Aztec warrior ready room?" Lloyd asked, starting to back away.
"Maybe?"
Walking into room, Brett saw there was another passageway and motioned for Lloyd that there was a path to get them away from there. Walking down the hallway, they heard someone yelling and headed closer for the voice before they saw Antoinette and Vivian cuffed to a wall.
"OH MY GOD! FINALLY!" Antoinette said, rolling her eyes. "GET. US. DOWN."
"Please?" Vivian asked, terrified.
"And grab that piece too!" Antoinette snapped at them, pointing with her left foot of their Hadar assigned statue piece. "Thank god we found one!"
Lloyd's Confessional Scene:
"We got one piece, which is awesome. But man Antoinette is sure snapping at us. Is this going to increase as she stays on the show?"
Brett stared down at the piece to see that there was a decaying organ laying next to it.
"Uhh... I think that's a... uh... heart?" He said, pointing at it with an uncomfortable look on his face.
Brett's Confessional Scene:
"The decaying heart, kind of reminds me of... well... mine."
"Going to hit Chris with a paintball when I get the chance," Chef said, pumping the paintball gun as he turned left. "Said he ordered ten boxes of the color I really liked, but only got nine. He's going to get it... and they're special editions."
Growing quiet, he heard a couple of people talking and pressed himself against the wall. Barely peeking around the corner, he saw Charlize and Jacob coming towards him; Mork slowly behind them.
Grinning, he saw his first three "victims" of the game.
"I am sending this outfit to the dry cleaners," Charlize stated, trying to get a stain out but it was proving to be effortless. "We better find the pieces of the statue fast, so I can get this cleaned."
"Is that all you care about? You sound like Chelsea," Jacob told her.
"Shut up Jacob," Charlize told him. "Unlike you, I care about how I look for business. This show IS business."
Looking past them, Mork saw the tip of the paintball gun and took a few steps back and around a corner, before quickly darting off. It may seem bad that he ditched them, but neither of them were asking for an opinion and he didn't want to get caught in another fight with something that can take him out.
"Mork-" Jacob spoke up, looking behind him to see that he was gone. "Where did he go?"
"Are you-" Charlize started to snap out, just as the two got splattered with paint. "WILL YOU STOP THAT?!"
Charlize's Confessional Scene:
"Dry cleaning bill. Will definitely send." She commented as she looked down at a pad of paper that she was writing on. "When I get my hands on those contracts, I am taking them up to the person in charge and getting it revised!"
At that point, two paintballs entered the confessional room. One hitting the pad of paper and the other hitting the side of her face as Chef laughed.
Chef's Confessional Scene:
"Chris never said I couldn't get them in the confessional room."
Jacob's Confessional Scene:
"I have the feeling I know who is going to go home from my team. And it begins with a C and ends with an E. Pretty sure I can get the others to agree. It won't be that hard."
Mork was simply whistling as he walked down one of the pathways in the maze. Yeah, he could have said something to Charlize and Jacob about Chef but... neither were really asking him for his input.
Rounding a corner, he saw that there was a hole in the wall and looked down it. It was completely dark and he could feel the smile growing on his face.
"Yes! Darkness, good old friend," he happily spoke to himself as he got down on his hands and knees to enter the space. The area was definitely damp from whatever moisture crept into the place, and some areas got a bit tight but widened out soon enough. At one point, he had to lie fully down on the ground and crawl like that for a few minutes.
"How far does this pathway go?" He muttered, hearing Chef firing his paintball gun that made him freeze where he was at as a feeling of fear washed over him. He knew that if Chef heard him, he could simply punch through the wall.
And he would horribly lose against him.
He could hear Chef yelling at the contestants and running off after them, and he let out a faint breath of relief. Slowly and carefully, he started moving once again.
"Where is everyone?" Chelsea squeaked out, her body twitching a small bit as she walked down a path. "Don't they realize how rude it is to leave a star alone? I mean, I am bigger than any one of them will be, so they should hang around me. And if they do and stay on my side, I can convince my agent to hook them up with a cool gig. But, nooooo. They had to ditch me."
She fluffed her hair a small bit as she turned around a corner that reached a dead-end.
"Ugh really? I thought mazes were supposed to go on forever?" She spoke to herself. "You know what? Whatever. I'm pretty sure that I'm not only one to complain about these dead-ends. I'll just take the other way to get out of here."
Walking back the way she came, she saw the path that she had passed up earlier and walked down it with her head held high. Looking straight ahead of her, she just saw the pathway kept going in a straight. She couldn't see any other paths at all.
"Are you kidding me? Who made this a straight path?"
Rounding a corner, Quaoar came down a straight path with Chef standing right in the middle of it.
"Silent boy," Chef laughed. "This is going to be good."
"Not, for you," Quaoar spoke out to him, as Chef pumped the paintball gun and fired shots at him.
For a split second, it was as though the fired paintballs had slowed down or perhaps it was Quaoar who had quickly sped up that they appeared to be moving slowly for him. Cocking his head a small bit, a bright pink paintball went right past his cheek and disappeared from his line of sight - completely missing him. Quaoar could feel the corner of his mouths twitching, the feeling of an impending fight just about to happen.
Quaoar's Confessional Scene:
He was seen sharpening his two swords, before looking at them with a smile on his face.
"It's on."
Chef blinked in surprise to see that Quaoar had gained three feet of ground and had not yet been hit by any paintballs. Grumbling, he threw the paintball gun he had aside and pulled out a much, much larger one.
"Alright goth boy, game on," Chef said as he fired away at him. In a quick second, Quaoar had pulled out his two swords and was quickly deflecting the paintball back in the direction of Chef. Neither of them appeared to be giving up at all.
"Hold on a second," Chef said, removing the container storing the paintballs from the gun and putting in a new one. "Much better."
Firing at him, Quaoar started to deflect the paintballs once again, but a new detail caught his attention. Bit of glitter flew past his face, sticking onto him with each paintball he destroyed. He could feel the anger building up in him and he stopped deflecting the balls; quickly he darted out the path of the paintballs before slicing the barrel off the paintball gun with the sword he had in his right hand. Before Chef could react, Quaoar quickly kicked the paintball container off the paintball gun and every single little ball of glitter went flying past the two of them.
Then they heard a loud, petrifying scream.
Looking behind them, they saw Chelsea standing in the pathway. Head-to-toe covered by the glitter paintballs - which Chef laughed about before turning around to face Quaoar as he pulled out a new paintball gun.
In a quick moment, Quaoar quickly planted one of his feet on a wall and launched himself up high enough to grab the edge and flipped himself over. Disappearing from Chelsea's and Chef's sight.
Chef's Confessional Scene:
"Silent boy is going to be an interesting contestant."
Quaoar's Confessional Scene:
He was seen sitting there for a second, before he hit his chest one time and coughed out a puff of neon pink glitter.
"Not a word to anyone. Especially from you Ethan."
The door to the confessional room opened up and an intern handed him a phone that had a single message on it - Too late told our siblings. At that, he kind of cracked the phone with his hand.
Chelsea's Confessional Scene:
"Oh my god. My hair. My clothes. My make up," she quickly spoke, looking over herself with a small mirror. "This... it's all ruined!"
"Aw man," Capone said, looking down through a small hole in the wall, he could see his baseball on the other side but even trying to reach it would be difficult from both ways. "How the heck do I get it out?"
"Get what out?" Rival asked, spazzing Capone out for a second.
"My baseball," he told him, peeking through the hole Rival saw what he was talking about.
"Man, that sucks," Rival spoke up. "Maybe it's actually easier to grab on the other side?"
"No worse than Mikata probably wanting to be the team leader" Capone told him.
"Wait what?" Rival asked, confused. "Why would he want to be team leader? Why are you worried about my team?"
"Dude, it's obvious, he's following others around and learning about them, and that could put him in a good position to be team leader," Capone said. "But it also gives him a good way to figure out how to eliminate any one of you."
"So, his scared personality is just a show?" Rival asked him.
"From what I can see," Capone commented. "Most likely he won't drop it till something big happens and then it's too late to eliminate him."
Capone's Confessional Scene:
"Meh. He's not really doing that, but might as well get him off the show... But since I'm doing good soo far... I can "push" others to get rid of some people now."
"Just watch your back around him," Capone said as he walked off.
"Is he that bad?" Rival commented.
"Best you form an alliance with some members of your team to secure your backs," Capone told him. "Get rid of him soon before he gets rid of you, cause right now he's probably thinking of way to get rid of Luna."
"Yeah that makes sense," Rival spoke in agreement. "I'll see what I can do with my team. What about yours?"
"Got the two "leaders" struggling for control," Capone laughed. "We pretty much ditched them in the first five minutes."
"Man that has to suck, but hey they'll be busy with each other and get themselves eliminated in the process," Rival said.
"Man, I would be laughing my head off if there's a double elimination and they both lose," Capone laughed.
"I will stay to see that," Rival said.
"You are invited to see it go down," Capone said. "Well, I got to grab my ball, see you later."
Nodding his head at Capone, Rival watched him walk off while muttering about how to get his ball. Looking down the hole where the ball had gone through, Rival saw that it was gone.
"How the heck?" Rival said, raising a confused eyebrow. "Who was on the other- Mikata."
Tilting his head to the right, Quaoar hit his left side of his head and saw some glitter paint fall off him. He was about to mutter something when he heard the sound of a wall cracking and a bunch of bricks falling onto the path and Mork appearing from the hole in the wall. In Mork's hands was a piece of a statue belonging to Team Procyon.
"Fresh air! And a piece!" he happily said, before looking up to see Quaoar staring down at him. "Uuuuuhhhh... hi?"
Quaoar raised a simple eyebrow at him, unsure if he should even comment to what Mork was doing.
"Statue piece?" Mork laughed out a small bit, seeing how awkward the moment was.
"Alright," Quaoar said, walking away from him.
"W-Wait up!" Mork said, scrambling to his feet as he tightly gripped the piece as he ran to catch up with Quaoar.
"Ouch," Laverne said, pulling off one of her shoes and a rock fell out of it. "Sooo not made for a hike."
"Why do you even wear those?" Shion asked. "But they're totally hot."
"Aww thanks," Laverne asked, flicking her hair over her shoulder and throwing a wink at Shion. "I wear them cause they're actually comfortable for me and really easy to put on."
Shion's Confessional Scene:
"Someone who actually wants to flirt!"
Laverne's Confessional Scene:
"So... he is flirty. I can work that to my advantage."
"Be okay if I go off on my own?" Laverne asked, leaning up against Shion.
"I don't see a problem with that," he happily said. "But you sure?"
"Positive," Laverne commented. "There's a lot of ground here to cover and we need to find the pieces of our statue before Chris calls us back in."
"Crap the statue!" Vernon spoke up, slapping his forehead. "We were so busy getting away from the quarrelers and avoiding Chef, kind of forgot."
"Go for it Laverne," Mag commented, climbing up one of the maze walls like it was nothing. "We need to get those pieces. The other side of this wall is clear."
"You got it!" She happily said, and went off to begin her search. At that point, Mag jumped down and landed with a hard thud from her boots that made a small cloud of dust rise up.
"How did you do that?" Shion asked.
"What? Oh, I can break bricks with my hands," Mag said. "Did it last season. So... I just jabbed my fingers into the wall and pulled myself up."
Shion's Confessional Scene:
"Soo... maybe flirt with Mag? I don't want my face broken."
Mag's Confessional Scene:
"Well, Shion and Laverne won't be able to flirt much now, so they're both pretty much back in the game."
Mikata was looking around a corner, making sure that the pathway was all clear. Looking back at Luna, he gave her a head nod and the two walked down the path - Mikata holding a statue piece. It had only been earlier when Mikata had fallen into a waist deep whole that he found a piece to their statue, thus he was holding onto the statue piece.
"Th-think an-anyone else found-d a p-piece?" He spoke, unsure as they hadn't run into anyone else from their team.
"I'm sure they have," Luna said. "You need to have some faith in them."
"Y-Yeah," Mikata said. "C-Cool."
Luna's Confessional Scene:
She twirled her finger in the air with a smile on her face. "Just need to convince the team to hold onto him. For me."
The scene changed to the front of the hotel where there was a large trailer with a couple of generators set up. Inside, Chris was sitting in the airconditioned place, sipping a cup of coffee.
"Not half bad... but it could be better," Chris said as he looked at his coffee mug. "Like a whole lot better."
In front of him was a large TV screen displaying an arcade-like image. Black background with thick blue lines for the maze walls, different colored dots for each player based their outfit color (with Quaoar's dot having his name in white attached to it) and an overly happy unicorn head for Chef.
"You know, Chef's symbol is pretty creepy," Chris commented. "Seriously. The eyes look as though they are about to pop out of the unicorn head."
"Oh no," Vernon whispered, pressing himself against a wall. They were close by to Chelsea's scream and the sound of Chef firing paintballs.
"Can we out run him?" Shion asked, looking at Mag and Vernon.
"You two hide," Mag commented, handing the piece of the sculpture to Vernon. "Keep the piece safe. I recall that there's a pond bit of a good distance away from the exit, I'll lure Chef as far away as I can from you guys as you make a break for the exit."
"We'll keep quiet," Vernon said.
"What do we do then?" Shion said.
"Hide the piece at the exit, then hide yourselves," Mag said as she took off from the area.
"See you soon!" Shion commented as they quickly darted off.
Breaking off a bit of the wall, Mag rounded around a corner and headed down a path and saw that a connecting pathway that led to a pool of water - a good place to escape. Before long, after making a few more turns, she saw Chef looking dead-straight ahead as he passed by the path she was on. She could hear him muttering about finding someone for a rematch, and quickly threw the stone piece at Chef and hit the muzzle of his paintball gun - leaving a good dent in it, thus making it no longer useable.
Mag's Confessional Scene:
"Well... I am so dead now... Eh, I'll live. Legally he can't end me. But worth it."
Bolting, she could hear Chef letting out a battle cry as he ran after her. That battle cry seemed to have disturbed every hummingbird in the immediate area and they came charging at the two of them.
"Worst. Mistake. Ever." Mag said, as she turned a few more corners and slipped into the pool of water. The sound of her escape covered by the shrilling cries of the hummingbirds.
"What the heck?" V spoke, from the other side of the maze with a statue piece in her hands.
"Chef," Yvez commented. His cry had reached them.
"Wow. He has good lungs," V laughed. "But dang, who got him mad?"
V's Confessional Scene:
She was seen laughing, nearly falling over. "Feel bad for the bloke who got Chef mad. Best of wishes in survival. Especially you Rival!"
"Let's keep moving," Yvez spoke, walking down a rather narrow path.
"Sooo... how many pieces do we have to find? Cause Chris didn't tell us," V spoke up. "He probably should have said that in the directions. Would have been really nice."
"He could, but didn't," Yvez said to her. "His problem, not mine."
"But it is our problem," V snapped at her. "Especially when we don't know how much time we have left in this maze!"
"Silent boy, we meet again," Chef said, with a new paintball gun in his hands as he and Quaoar crossed paths for a second time, ignoring the fact that Quaoar had shoved Mork down a different pathway for some odd reason that Mork couldn't figure out. "Little maggot girl made me get a new one, now... I got double the firing power."
Holding it up, it had two barrels and two plastic containers filled with two different colored paintballs.
"Two colors, two different effects. One is glittery." Chef laughed as he patted one of the plastic containers, looking up to see that Quaoar was just four inches away from the tip of the paintball gun with a look on his face that he didn't give a care at all.
"Try me," Quaoar said to him; both locking eyes on one another with a cold look and that one of them was going down in this fight. Chef barely had the trigger pulled back and Quaoar had used the palm of his hand to shove the barrels towards the sky as two different color paintballs came out of it and soared to some other place in the maze.
In a swift movement, Quaoar's left fist collided with the jawline of Chef's face and it made Chef take a step or two back.
Chef's Confessional Scene:
"Do I have a bruise here?" Chef said, pointing at the area on his chin where Quaoar hit him. "I'm supposed to stay looking pretty for the camera."
Narrowing his eyes, Chef threw the paintball gun down to the ground and immediately went into hand-to-hand combat with Quaoar. As Chef went to land a punch on him, Quaoar swiftly slid under him as he drew out a sword and sliced the paintball gun horizontally down the middle - splitting it into a top and bottom half - just as Quaoar rose back onto his feet.
"My paintballs..." Chef said, a somewhat terrified look on his face. In a split second, anger completely consumed Chef. "Now, you deserve this."
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small ball that was the size of a hacky sack ball. Kicking it on his feet a couple of times, Chef kicked it straight at Quaoar and Quaoar quickly deflected it into a wall with his right leg.
"That was... pathetic," Quaoar told Chef, but saw that Chef had a smirk on his face and was chuckling a small bit.
"There's more," Chef said.
Chef could have sworn he saw a look of confusion on his face for a split second, but a hissing sound filled the silence and both of them looked over at the ball that was stuck on the wall. Bubbles were forming on in and it was increasing in size - all ready to burst within the next second.
Quaoar's Confessional Scene:
"Time to end this."
Lunging himself at Chef, Quaoar quickly jumped over him and, just barely, pushed Chef forwards but it was strong enough to send Chef forward a few steps and in the direct path of the growing, bubbling glob on the wall. Turning around, Chef felt something pop against his arm and saw a string of goop already sticking to him.
"Oh no," Chef said, as Quaoar stepped back a good distance as the goop merged into a large bubble that was now sticking to Chef's entire right side. Pulling out one sword, Quaoar looked at it then looked up at Chef.
"What are you planning?" Chef asked him.
"Exitium," Quaoar spoke, knowing exactly what the word means in Latin as he threw the sword forward and puncture the bubble. Darting backwards, he rounded around a corner and pressed himself against a wall as a loud explosion and sounds of goop hitting the wall filled the air.
Rounding around the corner, he barely raised an eyebrow at the sight of destruction in front of him. Chef lying there on the ground covered in the glitter-goop, most of the pathway covered by the same goop, but for some odd reason not sticking to his sword as he pulled it out of the mess. There was bit of a groaning sound and a large piece of stone landed on the ground. Looking at it, he saw the piece was painted in white and gold - his team colors. Picking it up, he gave Chef a head nod in acknowledgement and walked away from the area. But a made a note in his head that he had surpassed Chef.
At least for the time being.
"Let's go down this path," Charlize commented, taking a step down the path she picked. "Well?"
"I'm not sure about that path," Jacob commented, holding a piece in his arms. "Why don't we go in the other direction?"
"I'd rather not go down the one you want," Charlize said, looking at the path behind him. "My path is the wiser choice."
Immediately she felt two splats against the back of her head and her eyes grew wide.
"What just hit the back of my head?" Charlize commented, her left eye slowly twitching as she turned around to where Jacob could see her backside. "Tell me. Now."
He had bit of a smirk on his face as he saw the two different paintball colors.
Jacob's Confessional Scene:
"She didn't say to tell her the truth."
"A bird just did its business on you," Jacob commented, and Charlize quickly whipped herself around and marched right past him.
"Then we go this," Charlize told him, heading down the path that Jacob had initially wanted to go on.
"Score for me," Jacob said under his breath, walking behind her as an explosion went off in the distance. Creating a dark shadow behind him, as though a bad omen was coming.
"What the heck?" Rival said, looking behind him as he heard the explosion go off. "Okay... I guess these hummingbirds know how to make things explode."
Walking ahead, it was deadly quiet around him. No teammates or any opponents yet. Which was quite odd for Rival, surely he would have run into someone else by now. Making a turn, he saw the path was a dead end but the sight of a statue piece brought a wide smile to his face.
"I just scored some gold," Rival laughed as he ran up to the piece but stopped short and the smile on his face immediately dropped.
On the statue piece was a humming nest, with a crying baby bird demanding food in it.
"Why?"
Rival's Confessional Scene:
"Now I got to figure out how to get this small bird and the nest off the piece? Come on!"
"Remember, any harm to the birds is instant elimination," Chris laughed outside the confessional room.
"YEAH I KNOW!" Rival shouted at him, kicking the door while Chris continued to laugh.
"Okay... Mom isn't back yet maybe I can unstick the nest and use something else to attach it on?" Rival said to himself, scratching the top of his head. "God this is going to be complicated."
"Need help?" Luna's voice spoke up from behind him.
"Luna? Man, yes, please," Rival said, keeping an eye on Mikata. Mikata gulped a small bit and took a step back, not really liking the look Rival was giving him.
"Don't worry about this, I can handle it," Luna said. "I love animals and did some bird care before. This shouldn't be too hard for me."
Luna's Confessional Scene:
"Note, I never handled birds before. My team doesn't know that, but I've studied bird stuff for assignments. I'm good at birds calls. And well... a hummingbird nest is like string and wires, just got to make sure it doesn't unravel."
"Man, you're a lifesaver," Rival said in relief.
Looking up, Mag couldn't see if Chef was anywhere around her but she could hear the explosion loud and clear in the water. Looking around in the water, her eyes widened at what she saw below. Two different statue pieces - one red and one white.
Mag's confessional scene:
"I'm not missing this opportunity," she spoke, ringing the water out of her hair.
Grinning, she dove down and grabbed the red piece, her right fist breaking it in half. Grabbing the two pieces, she tucked them into different shaded areas, out of sight before swimming back and grabbing the white piece for her team.
Rising to the surface, she saw Vernon and Mork staring down at her. The two already splatted by paint.
"You okay?" Vernon said, holding a hand out to her.
"Never felt better," she laughed, lugging the sculpture piece out. "The opposing team is going to have a hard time finding the one I can across. Well… pieces."
Shion and Vernon glanced at each other for a second, before looking back at Mag as she picked the piece up again.
"We found Mork," Shion said, pointing at Mork who was still holding on to a piece of their statue.
"Awesome to hear," Mag said, as she grabbed the statue piece and they began walking away from the area.
"Let's get out of here before Chef finds us," Vernon commented. "He's close by."
"Hiding from him is harder than it looks," Mork spoke out, a look of fear on his face as he glanced over his shoulder to see if Chef was anywhere near.
"RUN!" Vivian shouted, as she held onto the piece that they had found earlier.
"Oh my god! We are going to die!" Antoinette shouted, following behind her with Lloyd and Brett behind them.
"Have we lost them?" Lloyd said, as he slowly turned his head to look behind them.
"Don't look behind, it'll slow you down or worse," Brett yelled out, and Lloyd immediately snapped his head forward.
"Where did they come from?" Vivian yelled out as they rounded around a corner.
"My foot just hit something," Lloyd said, as arrows flew out of the walls around them. Each one made them duck or jump, but they all ended up running faster.
"Oh my god, what did we do to deserve this?" Antoinette cried out, not liking the situation that they were in. "I mean, we broke free, got our piece and escaped. We don't deserve this!"
"They're paid to do this," Brett told them, making Vivian stop short.
"Wait a minute," she said, a lightbulb going off in her head.
Vivian's Confessional Scene:
"This might get them off our backs... maybe?" Vivian said, holding up a credit card. "I have more... So not really worried. And my mom said do anything to succeed."
"Sixty grand on this and there's only four of you... fifteen grand each," Vivian said, holding up the card to them. "No pin."
"Vivian what the heck are you doing?" Lloyd called out, seeing that the Aztec warriors that were chasing them had stopped short.
"Buying us time... maybe get them off our backs?" Vivian said. "Sooooo? What do you say? You get the card and we get to walk away, act like we never saw each other?"
The four guards looked at each other for a second, spears in hands and they were whispering to themselves for a few moments before they looked at Vivian, taking a couple steps forward.
"Oh my god, did they buy it?" Antoinette spoke up, her mouth dropping open.
Right at that point, the Aztec warrior in front pointed his spear right between Vivian's eyes.
"Nope," Vivian squeaked out.
"Hey dude, catch!" Brett said, throwing a piece of stone that hit the Aztec warrior left arm. "Run!"
At that they, all broke out running again from the Aztec warriors.
"Finally, I found someone!" Chelsea said happily, but only for that happiness to drop of her face when she saw it was Laverne. "Oh, it's you."
"And... someone of low importance," Laverne commented, folding her arms over her chest. "Talk about a poor entrance."
"Oh, like you can do any better?" Chelsea said, shoving her hair back behind her shoulders. "I've done a lot. Name it, I'm in it."
"I've done modeling and been in movies," Laverne said to her. "Plus, if you were big time, I would know you. And so would my dad. But... we don't."
Chelsea's Confessional Scene:
"And what does she mean by that?" She made a "pfft" sound, while her left hand did "oh, please" gesture. "What she says basically means nothing at all, I mean, hello? I'm at the top and she's down below."
Laverne's Confessional Scene:
She was seen tapping away at her phone, before looking up at the camera. "She's full of it. Waaay to much confidence and boasting."
"Anyways..." Chelsea said, "I'm going to find a piece in this place and secure a spot to stay in this team."
"How can you when others already found a piece of our team statue?" Laverne commented, a smirk on her face as she walked past Chelsea. "Too bad for you. You might be voted off if our team loses."
"Oh, no I won't," Chelsea snapped out, marching after Laverne. She wasn't going to let Laverne knock her down that easily.
"No ball, and no where close to finding a statue piece," Capone spoke out, a bit disgruntled at the moment. "But I did manage to get a thought into Rival's head about Mikata. Even if we're on opposite teams. Hook, line, and sinker."
He laughed a small bit before he heard a loud intercom system turn on that made him cover his ears.
"Geez, who the heck has that alarm?"
"Attention losers, attention losers," Chris's voice called out through the the system. "Time to leave the maze and get back inside the greenhouse. You have twenty minutes to do so. Also, good luck finding your way back."
"Okay, is everyone out of the maze? And did everyone have fun?" Chris asked, looking at the contestants. Most were splattered with paintball pellets, others covered in mud or dirt, a possibly "superficial" injury, or just soaking wet.
"Does it look like we did," Charlize snapped out, making her hands into fists.
"I say you did," Chris laughed. "Especially since Chef did a number on all of you, but now we get to do part two!" Chris happily spoke out.
"Part two?" Vivian said, head tilting to one side.
"Yeah, remember?" Chris said, knocking Vivian on her head a couple of times. "You guys got to take these pieces and restore the statue."
"Got anything for us to use in fixing them?" Lloyd asked, rubbing the back of his head where Chef had got him with a paintball just as he stepped through the door.
"Nope," Chris spoke. "This is where you guys have to find that here in the greenhouse with your respective teams. So... have fun experiencing hummingbirds, bees, poison frogs... snakes. Oh, and plants that will highly eat you."
Brett's Confessional Scene:
"Wait, Larry is here?"
"Now go," Chris laughed as he saw them all run off into the greenhouse plants. At that second, something hard hit him the back of his head. "OW!"
Looking behind him, Chris saw Chef standing there with a very displeased look on his face.
"What?" Chris asked, as Chef shook his head and walked past Chris without saying a single word. "I don't know what I did to deserve that, so you better tell me!"
Team Hadar
"You want to know what's scary?" V said as she and the rest of Hadar walked through the dense greenhouse vegetation. "Not a single hummingbird."
"Please tell me you didn't jinx us, oh my god," Antoinette said, face-palming herself.
"Well, it's true," V snapped at her.
"I really hope Larry isn't here," Brett said, glancing over his shoulder now and then. "That would be disaster."
"Oh my god! Can we stop jinxing our team already?" Antoinette yelled out, causing her whole team to stare at her. "Like oh my god! Do you want bad things? I ended up chained to a wall, walked through a dirty maze, got paint balled, and now this!"
Right at that moment, they heard something quickly buzz by their heads and they all looked around quickly as they saw more small creatures buzz by their heads.
"Thanks," Yvez said, glaring at Antoinette as she ducked down to avoid two hummingbirds.
"Run!" Rival shouted, as they ran from the area, with the hummingbirds not too far behind them.
Team Procyon
"Wow, Antoinette is loud," Shion commented as he, Laverne, Capone, and Vernon walked in the back of the group.
"No worse than Chelsea," Laverne said under her breath, earning a laugh from Capone.
"Aww, look at that cute, grumpy face she has," Capone playfully teased, playfully poking her in the cheek. "Who can eliminate that?"
"Oh shut up!" Chelsea snapped, trying to shove either Laverne or Capone but accidentally ended up pushing Mag into one of the large flowers. A nearly clear-yellow liquid squirted out from the plant that Mag had landed, a look of disgust on her face as she spat some of the stuff out of her mouth.
"You seriously couldn't take some teasing? I can handle the comments made towards me and not let them get under my skin," Charlize snapped at Chelsea.
"Can we all calm down please? This fighting isn't helping us," Vernon stated, grabbing Mag by a wrist and tried to pull her onto her feet. "Crap, she's kind of stuck."
"Just get me out of this, cause it's kind of burning my skin," Mag commented, trying to pull her elbow off one of the red stems that was covered with the sticky substance. Jacob was quick to grab her other wrist.
"Pull quickly and as hard as you can," Jacob stated, with Vernon giving him a quick head nod. With a hard and quick pull, they managed to get Mag out of the flowers.
"This stuff will work for the sculpture," Charlize commented, staring at the oozy-sticky substance that had landed on the pathway after Mag had been pulled out.
"Really?" Laverne commented. "Mag got stuck in it because of Chelsea and it practically hurt her! And really? Do you think anyone of us want to touch that stuff with our bare skin? No thank you."
"What other option do we have?" Charlize snapped out. "Who know how long before Chris calls us back to put our statue back together. We got a resource right here. We use it."
"Excuse the interruption, by why don't we keep this stuff as a second option?" Jacob spoke up. "If we don't find anything else to use, we can quickly swing back, with some long sticks and grab some of this stuff on our way back."
"I guess that's feasible," Charlize said, with a less than satisfied look.
Laverne's Confessional Scene:
"I am not risking my skin for Charlize's stupid idea. I hope we find something better."
Mag's Confessional Scene:
"I dug thee the b****," she said, picking off some of the sticky substance off of her, some areas of her skin were already bright red and starting to look like a rash. "Can I make her sleep in this?"
Shion's Confessional Scene:
"Everyone is really negative... I'll do my best and cheer them up! And we can all bond better as a team! Wonder if the next episode will be bonding and trust exercises?"
Chris's Confessional Scene:
He was seen laughing for a few seconds. "Oh man, next episode is going to be anything but bonding!"
Team Hadar
"What substance can we use in here?" Antoinette asked, folding her arms over her chest. "Like oh my god, we've been walking for a long time and haven't come across a single thing!"
"Can we use vines?" V asked, holding up some half-inch thick vines. "I mean, we can tie it and loop it around the pieces, throw in some moss and make it look older."
"Appearance upon discovery," Yvez spoke up, nodding her head in approval.
Yvez's Confessional Scene:
"It is a good idea, and we can gather a lot of it."
"That can definitely work," Lloyd said. "We can put the vines down first in a crisscross pattern, set the pieces on top and tie them together. Add one more for support and throw in moss for appeal."
"C-Cool," Mikata said, picking up a bunch of the vines.
"G-guys," Vivian said, pointing to the Aztec warriors before them, lounging at tables by the glass walls.
"Oh man," Lloyd said. "These guys again."
"Oh, hey what's up?" One of the four guards spoke up, with a deep voice giving them a wave. "Eh, don't worry, we got paid. So... yeah, our role is done."
Lloyd's Confessional Scene:
"How much money did Sephiria give them that they refused Vivian's offer?"
"Contract said, we couldn't take bribes," a second warrior said, his voice had an Italian accent to it and it wasn't too deep sounding but kind of made the girls swoon. "Oh, cool, you grabbed the good vines. Just don't land in the large flowers that have a kind of clear yellow sap... that stuff burns and the rash it leaves gets agitated by water."
"Thanks for the advice," Brett said. "Wait... Matteo?"
"Sup, Brett," Matteo happily called out. "Best of luck with your challenge."
"Especially since you're missing a piece," a third Aztec warrior called out.
Rival's Confessional Scene:
"We're missing a piece? How did we miss a piece to our statue?"
Team Procyon
"Ow," Shion said, as Laverne used a pair of tweezers to pull out another splinter from his face. "These things hurt."
"Well, blame Chris," Laverne commented. "He likes to leave out details."
"We need to settle on who is going to be the team leader," Charlize said, folding her arms over her chest. "I recommend me. I run a franchise, have management skills, and can keep us focused. Any objections?"
There was quiet for a few seconds as everyone debated in their heads if her being team leader was a good idea.
"I say Quaoar," Jacob voiced up, earning some shocked looks from his teammates.
Jacob's Confessional Scene:
"I know, I know, passing up being the team leader, but I definitely don't want her to lead. And if I can put Quaoar in that position and in a good light, then she doesn't get that spot and Quaoar owes me. And other will see me as being selfless since I am putting someone with better abilities in the position and not me. So, I gain a favor, knock someone down a peg, and put myself in a better light."
"Quaoar has a lot of survival skills," Jacob said. "Even though he's pretty much quiet, he's always listening to us and I bet he knows ways to improve our team. Him leading us will put us in a better position and secure wins."
"I second that," Mag said, raising up her hand.
Mork raised his hand as well and gave a nod. "He... well, made sure Chef didn't get me or the statue piece I found."
"If you guys want Quaoar to lead us, then I'm in," Shion happily said, a wide smile on his face.
Shion's Confessional Scene:
"YAY! Someone who can end the tension!"
Charlize's Confessional Scene:
"Excuse me? What are they doing? I have the skills, capabilities, and high qualities to guide this team. We don't know much of what he can do for us!"
"Are you cool with this Quaoar?" Vernon spoke up, looking at Quaoar. "No one asked if you wanted to be leader. Sorry."
Everyone looked at Quaoar, a couple looking back at Charlize who had a furious look on her face.
"It's fine, I guess," Quaoar said, shrugging at them.
"Majority rule," Jacob voice up, "Quaoar leads us from here on out."
"Or until he gets eliminated," Charlize snapped out, stomping past them. There were some eyerolls and everyone walked off to find something else to use in fixing their statue.
Stopping short, Quaoar looked over at Jacob who gave him a friendly smile.
"Don't expect anything," Quaoar told him. "Not even a favor."
"Not a problem with me," Jacob told him.
"But... Charlize needs to gain respect if she ever wants to lead," Quaoar said, walking away from Jacob.
Jacob's Confessional Scene:
"Which I can agree with. And I'll make, from the side, that she doesn't get much respect."
Team Hadar
"Do we have enough?" V asked, wrestling with the large bunch of vines in her arms.
"I think we're good," Vivian commented.
"It's... sufficient," Yvez spoke in agreement, pulling out a short vine from the ones she had in her arms. "This one good?"
"Nah, too short," Lloyd commented. "Drop it."
"Well, if we're all good with our pieces of vines," Brett said. "Let's get heading back... Wherever back is. How do we go back?"
"Oh my god, how did we get lost?" Antoinette said.
"I-I don't kn-know," Mikata commented.
Looking around, there was no clear path that could lead them where their statue pieces were at nor could they see their footprints in the dirt.
"We head towards the glass wall, once out of the green, we go right," Luna said, walking away from the group. "I see it as our most direct path."
V's Confessional Scene:
"Wonder if she can do my fortune sometime."
"Attention players, calling all players," Chris's voice sounded off. "You got five minutes to figure out how to put your statues together and get back to base. See ya!"
"Let's move," Rival commented, quickly following after Luna.
Back at base, neither of the teams saw Chris around and all shrugged to one another. Immediately, they set to work on putting their statues together.
"Is this an arm or a leg?" Chelsea commented, struggling to hold up one of the statue pieces.
"Put it down," Charlize snapped out, as she applied a different sap-substance the team had found to an area of a different piece.
They all heard something hit the ground with a thud and saw the piece had slipped out of Chelsea's hands but remained intact.
"Here or here?" Rival asked, trying to figure out where one piece of vine should be laid down before the put the statue pieces on.
"Right there," Lloyd said, pointing to an area where another vine was needed.
"Tie these together?" Vivian asked, looking up at Luna. Luna gave her a head nod as she tied two other vines together.
"How strong are your swords?" Shion asked, staring at the statue piece that Quaoar was carefully sliding into place with his sword.
"Strong," Quaoar answered him.
"Ewww, it's oozing out," Chelsea said, stepping back from the statue as the dark gold sap oozed out of from between the piece. "I am not touching that."
"We can smooth it down," Mag said, smudging the sap across the area where the two pieces met. "Not that hard."
"It matches the gold painted on," Laverne pointed out, earning some nods in agreement.
"And its up!" Rival happily shouted, but upon looking at it, it did look like a mess.
"Well, it's standing..." Vivian said, unsure of what Chris would think of it. "Cause we have both legs."
"But missing an arm..." Brett said. "But it's up before the other team got theirs done."
"Oh my god, it's hideous," Antoinette said, covering her face with her hands.
"But we have an advantage," Luna spoke up, a half smile on her face.
"What advantage?" Yvez asked, unsure of what she meant.
Everyone heard a whistling sound and looked to the left of them where they saw Chef walking towards them blowing a whistle. Behind them, Chris was being carried on a chaise by the four Aztec warriors while drinking out of a coconut.
"And looks like both teams are done," Chris said. "Okay put me down."
Setting the chaise down, the Aztec warriors walked away as Chris stood up and walked over to the two teams.
"Okay, step back from the statues and let's see what we got here," Chris said as he looked at the two team statues as the teams walked away from them. Walking up to Procyon, he glanced around it from all sides. "Okay, okay... Not half bad. Guess that works there. The sap definitely matches the gold, so that's nice."
Chelsea's Confessional Scene:
"Can he go any slower? I would like to know the winner."
Stepping away from Team Procyon statue, he walked over to Team Hadar's.
"Geez... maybe less vines," Chris commented, as he circled around the statue. "Looks older... guess that's good. Moss added some detail, cool, I guess. Not so sure about the missing head... but whatever."
There was some sighs of relief from Hadar.
"And I got the winner picked out," Chris happily told them all, staring at them.
"Well?" Antoinette said, with a displeased look on her face.
"Just say it," Yvez said, not liking the long delay.
"Chris?" Shion said, a bit concerned at how Chris was standing there and staring at them for so long.
"Ummm... is he okay?" Vivian squeaked out.
"No, he's not," Mork said, taking a step forward just as Chris fell down to the ground in front of them.
Mork's Confessional Scene:
"Oh god, he died!"
There were gasps from the contestants around them, and fear settled over them on what was going to happen next.
"Wh-Wh-What d-do we d-do n-now?" Mikata stuttered out, eyes growing wide at the sight of Chris lying on the ground before them.
"Oh man, the batteries died!" Chris called out from behind them, making most of them jump. "Geez, you guys look as though someone died right in front of you."
Capone's Confessional Scene:
"Does he not have morals? Cause if you think that was funny Chris, it was not! That is the worst joke ever!"
V's Confessional Scene:
"What the heck? Dude, that was messed up."
Antoinette's Confessional Scene:
"Oh my god? Now I really wish he was dead."
Mag's Confessional Scene:
"And I'm related to him?" She let out a groan and buried her face into her knees.
Charlize's Confessional Scene:
"Can we get a replacement for him? Like right now?"
Mikata's Confessional Scene:
Mikata was seen breathing into a paper bag multiple times over. "N-N-Not f-f-fu-funny."
"Geez, just calm down everyone," Chris said, pulling out his phone. "Luckily for you, the memory bank was saved. So... I got the results, and the winning team is... Procyon."
There were sighs of relief and small cheers.
"Wow, your cheering sucked," Chris told them. "But whatever, Hadar, you are going to elimination. See you guys where we do the elimination."
"Welcome to the fifth elimination ceremony!" Chris stated as he stood on the stage while everyone stared at him from the stands. "Today's episode was epic. You guys literally had to go against Chef and hummingbirds. Who would have thought that those little things were deadly."
Chris laughed a small bit while most just shot glares him, covered their faces or shook their heads in dismay. Noticing their looks, the smile fell off of Chris's face.
"Anyways, the team that had the least amount of statue pieces was Team Hadar, so you guys are on the chopping block here," Chris said. "But for the elimination it will be more of by the way of the Aztec's - you'll be brought up to the top of the temple, be held down and get your heart ripped out of you while alive as the priests hold your still beating heart up to the sky for Huitzilopochtli to eat so he can continue to fight the darkness. Lucky for you guys, we have a temple here just for that."
Everyone stared at him with looks that they were slowly starting to get creeped out, while Chris broke out maniacally laughing as Chef came out wearing the most "authentic" Aztec costume he could find with a butcher knife in his hand. At that point Team Procyon, with the exception of Quaoar, was backing away slowly while staring at Team Hadar.
"Oh man, you should see your guys faces!" Chris said as he resumed his normal laughter while Chef walked away grumbling about having to put on the costume, "If we do that, this show would be put to an end right now. Plus, we don't even have a temple for sacrifices either... or a volcano. So, we'll just be doing a normal elimination... to which I'm picking the loser."
There were sighs of relief from the teams as Chris pointed his finger at each member of Hadar individually. In Chris's head, he was playing a little rhyme as he happily smiled at the contestants.
"Just tell us," Charlize commented, folding her arms over her chest. "So we can take a shower."
"Be quiet!" Chris snapped at her.

"Time to get out of the field, Capone," Chris said, pointing his finger directly at him.
"What?" Capone asked. "But I'm not on Hadar!"
"Yeah, you see, one of the things I said was to not hurt one of Sephiria's birds," Chris spoke; holding up a baseball. "And well, your baseball here, was found where a nest had been earlier today. And that nest is destroyed and those birdies have to start over now."
Luna's Confessional Scene:
"Oops." With a rather "innocent" look on her face. "I knew if he stayed longer, he would do damage. So... bye."
"What-What? No way! I lost-" Capone said while his eye twitched as Chef grabbed him by the shoulder and walked him off the stage.
"Well there you have it," Chris spoke as an intern passed out the marshmallows to the remaining members of Procyon. "Our fifth episode of LV. We have seventeen more contestants left to go through. What will happen next? Will we get a double elimination or just throw one person off the show? Find out next time on Total Drama LV."
