Chapter 49:Shadow War Part 2
It was queit on the dunes of vacou right now nothing was happening at first. But something was right now as this quiet day this quiet night it didn't matter. Right now one thing was for certain right now for the kingdom of vacou right now their was something going on for the kingdom of vacou
Right now an all out war could be heard with gunfire and screaming with several war crys being heard right now. Several soilders, huntsman, huntress where fighting their one true enemy grimm. Both side where fighting for their own pruspoes and hopes right now.
Rushing toward their where salem forces as grimm roared for their war cry. With talon jeeps and tanks driving forward with a tank firing a shell off as it went flying hitting some of the soldiers and huntsman right now. But they had their own tanks as an atlas tank crew loaded a shell in
Then they gave the gunner the all clear as the gunner lined their shot up before firing it off. The tank shell went flying hitting its intended target blowing it up to pieces as the resulting expsloion killed a few grimm along the way right now. With them cheering for a job well done. But the grimm and the warriors of salem where all running forward striking their blades with each other as gunfire rang out through the entire battlefield right now
No one was safe as grimm came in the hundred but with some superior fire power they shot them down. While the hybrids of salem tried to overwhelm them as they proved to be quite troubling right now
But swinging her scythe into a grimm cutting the head clean off was ruby. Who in a swift motion dodging a grimm trying to pounce on her. Then swung her scythe forward cleaving them into two as they turned into dust.
By her side was her partner as weiss quickly summoned several different types of glyphs ranging from ice, fire, gravity and wind. Firing them all of them off she fired a dense barrage of elementally attacks killing any grimm and injurying any nearby talon and unseen eyes soldiers right now
A operative swung their sword at her but dodging it she reeled her leg back spin kicking their head knocking them to the ground. As she immediately drove her sword into the ground beginning to summon her arma gigas
As the grimm saw this trying to stop her but not letting this happen was blake and yang. As blake quickly summoned two fiery red clones and one icy clone. Pointing forward they ran forward to deal with their enemies as yang smashed her fist together firing her gauneltns off propeling herself forward into the fight right now
As she went airborne flicking her wrist back firing her guanlents off again. She came crashing down into a swarm of grimm smashing a crater into the ground as a uras roared swiping at her with her raising her arms to block it
Yang slide back a little smiling before gesturing the grimm to come and get some the uras roared ready to swipe at her again. But running in where their own pack of uras colored white roaring fightings it brehtern as she scoffed
"The grimm are taking my glory now great!"she said annoyed right now
With both of blake fires clone leading a king tajtu around in a circle with its two heads. Both heads hissed as they soon came incontact with the clones as both leaped into the opposite heads mouth. Closing them the grimm expected a tasty meal but it felt a burning sensitization in its throat hissing and crying out in immense pain right now
As the arma gigas was summon raising its mihty sword bringing it down ontop of the two snakes head. The blade made contact cleaving it in two killing it with weiss pointing her sword forward
"Destory those tanks!"she ordered as the summon followed its mistress orders
Walking over to some rocks it picked them up before lfiitng them high enough to get a few tanks attention. As one was taking aim at it viewing it as a threat. Suddnely from above something came by stepping on the tank that being the wyvern known as glory
The grimm roared as it crushed the tank under it grasp with the summon throwing a rock into one of the tanks as the crew quickly got out running for their lives as the rock desotyred their tank on impact. Glory roared picking up the other tank with her claws flying off in the air before dropping off presumably killing the crew
Quickly team RWBY regrouped going back to one of the nearby trenches. In it was some familiar faces in the form of bashira and naca who where firing at the approaching grimm with the soilders and milta assisting them right now
"Oh hey their you guys are…wondering where you went""bashirsa said firing off a full clip before ejecting it then reloaidng it
"Well where busy fighting for our lives out their"yang said quickly reloaidng her gaunlents cokcing her fist back.
"Tell that to these guys! Screw you i had a bet that you'd attack next week!"naca shouted firing off her hand cannon
Ruby panted for a moment checking her sniper seeing it was a full clip.
"Does anyone need assistance on the battlefield right now?"ruby asked pressing her ear piece as their was quiet for a moment
"We might need help! Spotted a horde of goliaths coming our way we need backup!"marrow shouted from the ear piece as ruby shared a look with her sister nodding
"Blake, weiss watch each others backs where going to assist them"ruby said
"Got it! Be safe you two!"weiss called out as they nodded running off with the two now assisting naca and bashira on defending their current positions
Meanwhile where marrow was he was taking cover with the spartans and soldiers right now. They where using a mounted machine gun turret firing at swarms of grimm that where mowed down by the machine gun fire
Assitng him where his two sqaudmates along with mariana leading the charge issuing out orders to the nearby atlas soldiers and huntsman with them. As their was also neon, flynt, leah and persia
Flynt summoned his clones firing off streams of sound waves colored red desotrying some grimm in his way.
While neon skated forward swinging her nunchunks all over the place before whackign a grimm back sending it flying into some soldier who opened fire tearing it shreds
Persia snapped her fingers pinning down a couple goliaths grunting
"Now!"persia called out to elm who pulled her rocket launcher out. Taking aim she pressed the trigger firing it off as rockers wnet flying forward straight into the two goliths blwoing them up leaving nothing in their path as she panted for a moment
"Goliaths are down! Keep focusing fire on the megaliath!"mariana ordered as the soldiers opened fire onto the apprachign golaiths
Neon spritned back into the trench they where at with gunfire ringing out from all over the place right now as she gagged a little ready to puke from all the running and spinning shes been doing
"Theirs so many of them! This is insane!"she shouted as fylnt whipped the sweat from his brow
"Yeah! But hot dam are we lucky to have some backup!"he called out with grinch firing off a few rounds doming a soilder in the head killing them right now. With ramizerz, star, bonnet and a few spartans assisting them as cynthia dove to the side doging a strike from a operative

A soidler laughed"time to die vermin"he said but suddnely a knife was thrown into his head as he fell to the ground dead.
Running over lifting her to her two feet was miller as she laughed
"Guess your my bodyguard"cynthia said as he helped her down into the trench as she quickly got handed a assault rifle and a pouch of ammo. Miller cokced a rifle hammer back reloading it qucikly

"Oh great another creepy assassin….blow her up"bonnet said but elm saw how close they where bringing her hammer out at the ready

Then fin lifted his hands up to the air"set!"he called out as flying over was mars reaching his hands down
"Ready!"mars called out grabbing fin by his forearms using the momentum to dig him out. As he dug him out the berginal head came flying off with its spinel cord killing it as it fell to the ground turning into dust dead
The two quickly flew back over as team DAND was together fighting some grimm right now. By their side was sun, sombra, onxyia, dakota, adam along with trifa.
With nixing firing off a quick succession of arrows as she pulled her bow string back. Then fired off a arrow as it went soaring through the air. With it narrowly hitting ambroise in the head but it grazed his head as the arrow went straight into a grimm skull killing it on impact
With amrbsie tag teaming some grimm with vergil right now who was in his animal form. As the man slashed his claws forward cutting into a grimm with ambrosie vaulting over him drop kicking the same grimm back killing it. Another one struck at the lovebiards which vergil saw
"Watch out!"he called out as the two leaped out of the way seeing it was a repear. The repear roared as the two nodded to each other tag teeming it
Ambroise twilred his staff whacking the grimm a few times in the legs to get its attention. It worked with the grimm screechign swinging its large claws at him trying to kill him. But the owl faunus was much quicker dodging it as vergil switched to his aerial form
Planting his feet he flapped his wings taking to the skies drawing out his swords before pressing the triggers on them. A loud gunshot rang out as he zoomed straight through the grimm cleaving its head off its shoulder killing it with it turning to dust as amborise laughed in joy
"Nice hit vergy!"amrboise called out as vergil molted his armor off panting swaying side to side almost falling as close by was declan catching his growling

With razputin laughing in his animal form smacking his fist together

"Well at least you aint making homo jokes anymore….now lets tear a grimm apart"Vergil said with declan eyeing one right now that being a cyclops as he whistles to the two
"How about big and ugly you think you can take him!"declan called out as the two stared at the grimm with dante sliding over humming

"My son!"razputin cried in worry with him and vergil running over. Already over their was ambroise who saw some talon soldiers approaching his broher in law
Amrbose growled"Get away from him scumbags!"he shouted leaping forward swinging his staff into one knocking them back a little. As the second fired into him a couple time with one bullet piericng his gut as it was anti aura metal
Growling the owl faunus headbutted the soldier down to the ground. Lifitng his staff he cracked them hard in the skull with a loud crack being heard as they went limp. The the first one tried to reach for a pistol but ambroise wrapped his staff around their neck choking them right now
With enough effort he pulled their neck so far back he snapped their neck as they fell to the ground face first dead. With him leaping into the hole finding dante cltuhcing his leg as the bone was piercing out of his skin as he cried out in visible pain

Right now xander was doing his best with ross who had a shotgun strapped to his back treating their wounded. A faunus cried in pain with a bullet wound as ross growled
"It'll hurt but we have you your lucky it went through clean"ross said as xander tore out a bottle of idoine quickly pouring it on a rag. Then he pressed it onto their wound making the faunus grunt as he quickly repeated it with the other side

"Crap we gotta get him to the medical hut for treatment"xander said

As he swung his sword into a talon soldier chest stunning them before driving it straight through tearing his sword out coating it in blood. Then he dodged a strike from a nearby operative trying to cut him down but swiftly he slashed forward as the operative stood motionally before falling to the ground missing their head as he cut it off
Quickly he dodged another grimm trying to cut him down as he blocked it with his sword as it glowed bright right building up damage. With him quickly killing the grimm eyeing the cyclops who was still grounded
"We need to kill that thing now!"adam called out as dakota was close by sporting a pair of heavy gaunlents colored black right now. These where her weapons as she swung foward into a beowulf launching it into onxyia path who spun her glaive slicing it in half killing it panting
"Where open to suggestion tarrus!"onxyia called out as he eyed dakota smirking

Shooting upwards he went straight through the grimm cleaving it upwards right now as the cyclops stood their stunned as he reached the top. Growling he roared firing a shot off his katana coming back down going striahgt through it
Seeing this mars flew upwards as the grimm turned to dust with adam falling through the sky right now as he was flying down fast. But soon enough his savior came catching him in the air as he opened his one eye seeing mars who nodded
"Got yah kid! Heard you got a wedding to have!"mars shotued as adam smiled as the two landed on the ground with declan laughing right now
"Risky as hell ohhh i'm glad your on our side my boy"declan said
"The same to you but i–"adam stopped as his nose was plague by something familiar. His eye widden in horror right now as declan had the same scent with his daughter going wide eyed in fear

As their was a large spider like grimm right now that looked larger than any of the ones seen before. It had very long spider like legs but the body was strange. It looked more human like than spider but quite larger with the head of the human like grimm being a spider head with eight blinking crimson eyes.
As it was digging its legs into a huntress piercing her chest as she cried out in pain. Becoming annoyed it dug its leg into her skull killing her lifting her up as the spider head began to eat the women face as trifa flinched
"That aint right"trifa said drawing her knife as adam stepped forward narrowing his one eye calling to it
"Ollie!"he called out as the spider like creature dropped the women to the ground turning to them. Before eyeing them seeing who was their as it began to shake making a cracking noise before speaking
"Tarrus…blairrrrrr….traditorrrrrrs"the spider said in a voice similar to ollie right now but more eerie and chilling with xander flinching in fear right now by the sheer sight of him right now
"Thats ollie! Ohhhh dad please kill him with fire"xander said as declan stepped forward drawing his sword softening his gaze sighing
"Its time to be put at ease….lets go"declan said as they prepared to fight the grimm creature formerly known as ollie weaver right now for a brutal brawl.
Meanwhile back with weiss and blake they moved down farther in the trenches now. As naca was in rough shape with her clutching her side right now as bashira wrapped an arm around her as she got shoot in the side by a sniper early
Naca winced"leave me and get back to the fight idiots!"she shouted

Jazmine ducked reloading her pistol as a beowulf snarled above her trying to claw her head off. But leaping forward neo jammed her hidden blade into the grimm stabbing it in the head killing it as jazmine sighed in relief
"Thanks!"she thanked
"No problem communicating is much easier than before!"neo replied as close by was kali who was busy fighting against a few talon soldiers
They viewed her to be an easy threat right now but in a quick succesion kali leaned back dodging a strike. Then she pulled her sword back swinging forward into the soldier neck slitting it open as they gasped grasping their neck as they fell down to the ground gurgling on their blood. The second hit her from behind with her growling tossing her weapon ribbion as it swung around their neck
The third soldier swung forward but her ears flicked in time as she leaped up dodging it. As the soldier accidenlty drove it into their comrade head as kali weapon came back piercing their skull as they both fell down dead with her digging her weapon out whipping the blood off of it
"Whoa the cat housewife got move…dammit my side"naca said clutching her side as whiltey rushed over helping lay her on a nearby stretcher with two medics quickly rushing off to get her treatment
"Good work sister. Have you heard from winter yet?"Whitley asked
"No i assume she deeper behind our lines. How are you doing?"weiss said
"Better i've almost been shot three times but carmen has been protecting me"he said as carmen walked over panting whipping sweat off her brow

Weiss regrettable looked at her sword flinching seeing blood their right now as they watched it with blake running over as weiss legs gave out as she began to immediately cry on what she just did.
"I..i..i…i….what did i do…what did i do."weiss cried as blake held her close in tears
"Its okay…it okay…breath weisss…deep breats"blake cried as whitley looked horrified but him and carmen shared a look as kali stepped forward. Immediately she walked over picking weiss up to carry her
"Lets head back to the main command tent to regroup. She needs to calm down for a moment we can't do it here"she said as they agreed running with her back to the command tent as weiss cried to herself on what she just did right now.
Meanwhile with may and her group they where busy fighting themslves on the battleifedl right now. As they where pinned down behind some rocks as may peeked up taking aim with her sniper exhaling. Staring through she zeroed in on a griffon scooping up a huntsman to take them off.
But firing off a shot the bullet went flying through the air at alarming speeds. Once it made contact with the skull of the grimm the bullet dug into its skull before shattering it as it head blew up as it slowly flapped it wings before letting the huntsman go who fell to the ground as their aura took the hit
Immediately running over was earl who hoisted them up
"Dam i gotta thank whoever made that shot"the huntsman said as the donkey smiled
"Thank my teammates. Nice shoot zdhnag!"he called out as she nodded continuing to provide cover fire for them. While with them was ren and nora along with her other two teammates as hazel was assisting them along with a small squad of despardos right now
Leading the charge for them was leon who held out dual pistols firing into a few grimm that where coming at him. Narrolwoy dodging a strike from one he pistol whipped the back of their head before aiming at them firing a shot into their head killing it
But what was more tricky where some ak-200 as three of them came at him. With one swinging a sword forward chipping at his aura making him grunt
"I aint in the mood to deal with these dam bots again!"he shouted before placing two barrels onto its head blasting it off. With the other two raising their blades to cut him down but two large fist grabbed the top of their heads.
Those fist belonged to hazel who slammed their heads together desotrying them as spark flew from their chassi and destroyed bodie.
"Thank for the assist big guy"leon thanked
"No problem. Keep moving to the artillery we need to disable it"hazel said as ahead of them where three artillery guns right now. They where ontop of a small mountain range as they barely made it over here but thanks to ren semblance they did. Though it exhausted him alot as he panted firing off a spray of bullets from his machine pistols killing a few grimm
"Okay how are we going to get up their right now?"noaln asked as nora hummed eyeing her hammer smiling before planting it on the ground

"Wait what are you doing?"may asked as suddenly nora smiled pressing the trigger. Her hammer fired off a shell launching them upwards to the mountain ledge as both earl and may could be heard screaming right now. They watched this as leon laughed slightly pulling out a grappling hook device
"Better idea hook up kiddios where going up!"leon shouted as he fired the line up as it went flying forward. With the grappling hook landing on the eldge almost missing its target but it hooked onto a rock as a despardo gave it a strong tug securing it
"Lines secured!"they called out as immediately they hooked up to it with ascenders as ren pressed the button shooting him up the line with the others following suit. As they got up their already involved in a fight where the three as earl dodged a strike from a soldier before firiing off his shotgun pistols shattering their aura.
With nora running forward swinging her hammer into them launching them into some others down to the ground. May fired off shots from her sniper providing covering support as they slide behind cover
"Whats the situation?"nolan asked as may ducked from oncoming machine gun fire. As a small machine turret was set up with them continuously firing at them as she growled
"Dam machine gun got us pinned down! We need to get rid of it nora can't land a hit"may replied as hazel stood their for a moment digging into his pouches pulling out two yellow dust shards exhaling before slowly inaling. Before he jammed them into his skin as his veins light up with him growling before roaring smashing his fist together that sparked with electricity
"I'll handle it"hazel said before breaking from cover running forward roaring as the soldiers tried to stop him. But his aura tanked it as hazel roared smashing right through the barricade as he grabbed one soldier lfiting them in the air slamming them onto his knee as they coughed up blood as he killed them
Another two tried to run away from him but he caught them by their heads. Then he began to pressure on their skulls as they both screamed in immense pain. Before he crushed their skulls killing them as he dropped them to the ground.
"Okay noted to not mess with you. Lets plant a charge on these turrets"ophelia said as earl ran forward with a brick of c4 in hand. Then he got to one of the turrets as the despardos quickly cleared the other crews of the cannons right now. With a despdrao motioing their all in the clear
Presing hard on the brick earl onto the metal as he pressed a few buttons setting the explosive. It beeped loudly with a three minute timer as he smiled looking back to them
"Were all set to blow this things let go–"he was stopped as he gasped in immense pain right now. Looking back opehlia eyes widden to see x-8 standing their driving his knifes into the donkey faunus back before tearing them out kicking him to the ground
"NO!"ophelia cried as may and nolan went wide eyed. They immediately rushed to their teammate as x-8 saw them trying to go for them. But a arrow came at him but he narrowly dodged it looking to the source belonging to ren who glared at him
The assassin hoped down twirling his knives at him with nora standing by his side twirling her hammer at the ready staring the assassin down.
"Your going to pay for hurting our friend you freak"nora said as the assassin titled his head at her
"Combat orders are as follow defend cannons from the vermin by blaze and watts. Your marked for elimination"X-8 said pointing his knives at the two as ren narrowed his gaze
"Your not going to hurt her…you'll go through me"Ren said firing off another arrow but experlty x-8 bent backward dodging it now. With him sprinting forward as nora roared swinging her hammer into him to try and knock him off the ledge. But he saw this coming dodging it flipping over her kicking her in the back hard making her stumble
With ren running in kicking his leg forward into x-8 side making them stumble with a small crack being heard. But he immediately slashed and sliced his knives forward cutting into ren aura. As he tried to drive his knife into his left side immedialty ren blocked it with his metal arm as it bounced off it. With him growling throwing his head forehead headbutting them as it hurt with the helmet he had on
X-8 stumbled thought for a moment as nora picked herself up grunting from that hit she got. But staring for the assassin who was stunned she gripped her hammer tight running forward with her hammer swinging hard into their back which made x-8 gasp as he was launched into a wall hard as the assassin picked himself up with the two lover quickly regrouping with each other ready to fight him
As may and the others ran over to earl who layed on the ground as ophelia slide into his view. But their was blood pooling underneath him as she was in complete tears right now cradling his head
"no..no…no please hang on…please hang on…i cna't loose another teammate…i can't lose you"opehlia said on the verge of tears as nolan bent down putting pressure on his wounds as may was pnaicking right now holding her head
Earl was breathing rather slow as he swallowed for a moment"h-hey…you guys gotta get out of here…you gotta get out of here"he said weakly
"no..no we are not leaving you! I am not abandoning another teammate! Your not going to die like roy! Branwz!"may cried trying to pick him up but he shoved her back weakly looking at them then at the cannons right now as the despardo where backing up to their repeal lines
Then he looked over at nora and ren right now who were fighting x-8. As the assassin blocked a strike from nora kicking her in the chest making her cry in pain knocking her back. Then ren swiped at him several times trying to knock him down. But exeprtly the assassin caught his left arm swiftly tearing his porhtsetic away. Then x-8 threw it off the edge leaving ren with one arm
Immeialty the assassin tackled him to the ground trying to drive a knife into his throat. Ren strugled holding it back with one arm as earl gripped his fist tight before eyeing his shotgun pistol but eyed a pistol hoslter on nolan side
Reaching over he grabbed it before firing off a shot that went straight into x-8 chest stunning him. The assasin looked down seeing a bullet in its armor as white blood came out. Earl took aim before smiling
"Payback is a bitch!"he shouted before firing another shot as the bullet exited the chamber. The caritage came out of the muzzle as time seemed to slow down at that moment. Slowly the bullet traveled as it went striahgt into x-8 head piercing it as the assassin lurhced back as time resumed
Their was pure silence for a moment as x-8 simply kneeled for a moment before falling face first onto the ground lifeless as he was dead. With opehlia laughing in tears
"Okay…okay lets get you.."ophelia stopped seeing her remaining teammate right now. As earl was lifeless right now with him smiling as she felt his hand it felt cold to the touch. She began to shake him several times for him to wake up
"Come on..come on you idiot…wake up….please wake up….please wake up!"ophelia cried as nolan had tears on his face with may fighting the urge to sob seeing this was hazel who soften his gaze. Running over he regrettable tore opehlia away who was screaming for her teammate right now. As he shared a look with leon who nodded
"Grab him we gotta move!"he ordered as two despardos carried earl corpse as they leaped onto a small ledge where the mountain was. As the explosive went off right now destroying the cannons as they all took a breather for a moment. Hazel just looked at the battlefield before them hoping they win, no more children deserve to die in this war.
With that we see that a tragic death has happened on the battlefield. But weiss crossed the line to defend her baby brother. What other lines will be crossed in this war?
