Outside the Ice Mirror Trap
"This is not good" said Yamato
"Your right, those 2 in there are dead, that is an Ice Kekkei Genkai it is unbreakable, which makes Haku the perfect tool" said Zabuza
"Yamato captain, how will we get them out?" asked Choji who was still standing defensively fighting off Zabuza clones defending Tazuna.
"Honestly, I'm not sure, there isn't much we can do." said Yamato
"That can't be, we need to find a way to get them out!" said Ino
"It's futile, little girl" said Zabuza.
Zabuza charged at Yamato again, Yamato used wooden stakes to block the attack and countered with a wooden stake from behind, but Zabuza just jumped up and landed on top of the 3 pillars.
He dived down, his sword ready to hit Yamato, but Yamato made a wooden dome and heard the reassuring smack of metal against wood.
"Captain, watch out!" screamed Choji
But before Yamato could react, a massive dragon made of water charged from behind him.
It smacked into him sending him sprawling against the wooden dome he had created.
Yamato stood up, his legs shaking, and at the entrance of the dome he saw Zabuza dragging his executioners blade on the ground.
"This is the end of the line for you" said Zabuza
Yamato started backing up but his back against the wall of his wooden dome.
He tried to put the dome back into the ground, but it was to no avail, he didn't have enough chakra anymore he had been fighting for way too long and used wood style too much.
Yamato created two wooden stakes which shot out of the ground towards Zabuza, but Zabuza just cut them away with his blade.
"Shit" said Yamato
He tried to create a wooden wall, but he didn't have any chakra left.
Zabuza lifted his blade into the air and was about to swing
But Choji had used partial expansion justu and was holding Zabuzas hand and not letting him follow through with his swing.
This gave Yamato a chance, he took out a Kunai and ran he was going for a killing blow on the stomach but Zabuza dodged it but still got a graze to the right side of his chest.
But the most important thing was that Yamato was no longer backed into a corner and had a bit of time to recover some chakra he could use one more minor wood style justu.
But the trouble wasn't over yet, Zabuza grabbed the much larger and longer arm that was holding his hand and threw Choji over his head, slamming him into the ground.
Choji was stunned and was in clear pain, but his survival instinct kicked in he scrambled to his feet but before he could move away a flash of silver was seen in the mist.
Yamato brought up a wooden wall with all his chakra left in front of Choji but it was significantly thinner than his ussual walls.
The blade broke through but will significantly less velocity, leading to choji being able to jump back, but before he could get safely out of the way the tip of the executioners blade cut open Chojis chest.
Yamato fell to his knees due to exhaustion, and Choji collapsed due to being cut.
"NARUTO!" screamed Ino a bloodcurdling scream of pain. A sound you hear an animal make when they are backed into a corner and need help.
"He can't help you" said Zabuza
Ino's eyes were filled with terror.
Zabuza saw this and started laughing
"Its over for all of you, soon you will all be dead." said Zabuza
No thought Ino all that hard work all for nothing?
With Naruto and Shikamaru
Naruto scanned the area round him, the floor was littered with senbon and there were quite a few in him and Shikamaru.
Naruto saw something in the corner of his eye, he jumped up and blocked the majority of the senbon using his sword, but some flew past and hit him or missed their target.
"Shikamaru how much longer before you devise a plan?" asked Naruto
"I'm not sure, so far I can tell that when the enemy attacks they jump out of the mirror they seem to be extremely fast and are able to travel between the mirrors. The use of senbon suggests they prefer mid-range combat. But I haven't come up with a plank of attack yet" said Shikamaru.
Narutos eyes were able to track the enemy nin, but her near light speed travel time between the mirrors made it difficult to land a hit on the Shinobi.
"Why do you even fight for Zabuza do you have no care for the people in this village?" asked Naruto
"I am the perfect tool for Master Zabuza I serve him and only him, that is the source of my power." responded the enemy Shinobi.
"That sounds familiar" said Naruto out loud.
"What do you mean, it sounds familiar, do you know this person?" asked Shikamaru.
"He in fact does, he met me in the forest recently." responded the enemy Shinobi.
"You are that girl in the I mean boy in the woods that I met?" asked Naruto
"Indeed I am" answered the boy
"Why do you serve a demon like him, who shows no remorse for anyone?" asked Naruto
"Because even when everyone in my village neglected me he saw potential in me and took care of me even if I was just a tool to him" responded the boy
"And you allow him to use you as a tool?" asked Naruto with a bit of anger in his voice.
"Yes, he gave me a chance and gave me power for that I will be the perfect tool." said the boy.
"Anyone who allows themselves to be treated like just a tool for a village are scum, but the people who are worse are the bastards who use them" said Naruto with fury now evident in his voice.
"He saved me from a village who planned to kill me, I am only repaying him." said the boy.
"And the people of my village tried to kill me, but I am not just a tool." said Naruto in response
"All Shinobis are tools for somebody" replied the Boy
"Not to me" said Naruto
Their conversation got cut short by a bloodcurdling scream from Ino, screaming for Naruto. Naruto assumed that the worst had happened.
Naruto started feeling a dark chakra emerge from him, as he looked around, he saw the red cloak start to engulf him.
"No!" screamed Naruto
"I'm not going to lose control again" proclaimed Naruto
The red chakra started retracting again, but it never fully went away, it lingered there ready to engulf its host as soon as he was a little weaker.
Naruto's Sharingan started spinning violently as he imagined what was going on outside, he couldn't help them because he was to weak.
He really wouldn't make a difference in this Shinobi world, he failed all the people he loved
Naruto's Sharingan grew a third tomoe
Naruto opened his eyes again, he could see clearly he could see where everything was, he felt like he could predict his opponents' movement.
It wasn't over yet, but he would need to get out quick.
Naruto saw Haku flash past, he extended his arm and caught her by the neck and slammed her against the ground.
He took his blade and stabbed her in the abdomen, he could see the chakra starting to fade from the ice blocks around him.
He started generating the flame spear out of his hand
"Fire Style: Purple Flame Spear!" he drilled the spear into one of the ice block, and it shattered into several pieces, each of them burning and slowly melting away.
Naruto looked around, Yamato and Choji were either dead or unconscious on the ground Naruto watched as Zabuza walked towards Tazuna and Ino
The red chakra cloak started surrounding Naruto again, but Naruto pushed it back again.
Zabuza looked back and saw the ice mirror slowly breaking down, and Naruto thought he saw a look of sadness or pity in the Shinobis eyes, but Naruto assumed it was just his eyes playing tricks on him.
"Hmph you little brat beat Haku, impressive but that just shows that she was weak." stated Zabuza
"How dare you call someone who trusted you and made their entire life revolve around weak?" exclaimed Naruto
"If she was beat by two genin then obviously she was weak." responded Zabuza
Naruto snapped he charged towards Zabuza with his sword drawn
Zabuza easily parried Narutos blade and knocked him aside with the side of his blade.
Naruto scrambled back to his feet and created 2 shadow clones
"Water Style: Wild Water Wave" said the First Clone
A huge burst of water shot out of Narutos mouth and travelled towards Zabuza at rapid speeds
Zabuza used his sword to knock the water away
"Weak" stated Zabuza
But he had to admit the water jutsu was much stronger than he expected but before he could think of what to do next he head
"Lightning Style: Thunderbolt!"
And a thunderbolt shot out of Narutos hand and flowed through the water Naruto had created and was flying towards Zabuza
Zabuza jumped into the air to avoid the jutsu, but two wooden pillars emerged from the ground and surrounded his waist and brought him down to the ground.
Zabuza looked to where the wood style user's body was lying on the ground, but to his surprise, the Wood Style Shinobi he was facing before was still knocked unconscious
He saw the second Naruto clone performing the snake sign
"How interesting a Sharingan and Wood Style user" said Zabuza
"No wonder I was caught in this trap, you read my moves easily" said Zabuza
Well you are still no match for me, he started gathering Chakra in his mouth and used sharp water to cut through the wood
But as soon as he heard a faint crackling sound and as he looked behind him, he saw Naruto charging at him with a Chidori in his left hand.
Zabuza was about to raise his sword in defense when he saw Haku run in front of him, the Chidori passed straight through her but in turn saved Zabuzas life
"Why?" asked Naruto with a twinge of anger in his voice
"Because I love him" stated Haku
"But all he does is use you as a tool and mistreats you" said Naruto
"Doesn't matter, he saved me" explained Haku
Naruto pulled out the Chidori and Haku slumped to the ground now a lifeless corpse
Naurto started letting his chakra leak, which allowed a bit more of the nine-tails cloak to cover his body
"I won't let you get away with this" screeched Naruto before charging at Zabuza with his sword
Before Zabuza could even process what was going on he felt the cold steel slice his arm open, he jumped back and put up a defensive stance with his own blade.
Naruto was slashing at him wild unpredictable strikes but they where extremly powerful.
Zabuza watched as water gethered around Narutos blade and Naruto jump back and slash his blade seemingly at thin air.
Zabuza then saw blades of water shoot at him, he ran to the side to dodge them but one hit him right in the thigh and he collapsed to the ground.
Naruto took one step on the ground and flew towards Zabuza, to a normal human eye he looked like a mere flash.
He drove his blade into Zabuzas chest
Zabuza coughed up blood
"This is what you get" spat Naruto
"You know I loved him" said Zabuza
"Don't lie to me" said Naruto
Naruto drove the blade in further
Zabuza proceded to cough up more blood
"He wasn't just a tool he was a friend almost a brother." said Zabuza
Naruto thought about all the memories he had with Shikamaru, Choji, Ino and of course his brother figure Kakashi.
This wasn't something someone who didn't experience that feeling would say.
"I may have been harsh on him but I never wished harm upon him" said Zabuza
"You don't have to believe me" Zabuza pressed on.
"But know that it is the truth" said Zabuza
"I believe you" said Naruto the rage in his voice now having dissapeared and being replaced with one of sympathy.
"Then I have one final wish" said Zabuza
"Please let me die next to Haku" stated Zabuza
"Very well" responded Naruto
He picked Zabuza up and carried him towards Hakus motionless body
He carefully laid Zabuza down, Zabuza brought his face mask down and smiled when he saw Hakus face and he closed his eyes for the final time.
Naruto looked around he saw Shikamaru with a fresh volley of Senbons in him
Thats how Haku escaped, Naruto ordered Shikamaru to watch over Haku while he fights but it seems he was beat.
Ino was on one knee she had some battle damage and she seemed distant her pure animalistic survival instincts activated only focusing on surviving and protecting Tazuna.
Choji was still out cold, so was Yamato.
Naruto thought that he was lucky that his team had used up most of Zabuzas chakra, he could see through his Sharingan that Zabuza was already quite tired and was low on Chakra by the time Naruto had started fighting him.
Naruto walked towards Ino
"Ino, you alright?" asked Naruto
Ino took a step back
"Ino its me Naruto" said Naruto with concern creeping into his voice.
"Shes in shock" said a voice that Naruto didnt recognize
Naruto looked back
He saw a small man with glasses on surronded by a ton of mercenaries on the other side of the bridge
"Who are you and what do you want?" asked Naruto
"I just want this bridge destoryed, and as to who I am I am Gato" answered the short man
"To think that this expensive ninja would be beat by a small child what a wast of money, they are all useless" said Gato with a scoff
"How dare you insult him like that" said Naruto
"Hm doesn't matter" said Gato
Narutos anger started creeping back his brain was telling him to leap at Gato and drive his blade through his heart.
But Naruto held back.
"Once I kill you and the rest of your comrades I will destroy this bridge and make this place a crime haven, I will make this my base of operations and most likely dispose of anyone in this village that I see no potential in for example the bridge builders children" said Gato
"Shut Up, I will murder you!" screamed Naruto
"Sure you will" said Gato
Naruto lunged at Gato blade in hand
But before Naruto could reach Gato his band of thugs where approaching him
His sword clashed with the blade of one of the mercenaries
But it didnt falter him they where untrained and weak
Naruto jumped up and threw 3 kunai at his opponents each hitting the assailants right inbetween the eyes.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Techinique" said Naruto
A large dragon shot out of Narutos mouth and shot towards the thugs. It took out a large amount of them but before the survivors could even react Naruto was already in front of them.
He shot from enemy to enemy carving through them with his blade.
He used wood style to block attack and to impale assailants trying to attack him from behind
His Sharingan spun wildly he looked like a demon with his red eyes glaring and the blood flying everywhere
"Lightning Style: Thunderbolt" screamed Naruto
A massive discharge of electricity shot out around Naruto paralyzing and killing several opponents.
Eventually after slicing down a couple more mercenaries Naruto stood in front of Gato drenched in blood
"Your not human" said Gato stumbling backwards as Naruto approached him
Naruto drove his sword through Gatos chest and drove it upwards splitting Gatos body in half.
Naruto stood there for a second before collapsing.
3 Days Later
Naruto woke up with a jolt, he looked around him and saw that he was in a hospital room.
"So your finally awake" said Yamato
"What happened, did we fail?" asked Naruto
"Quite the opposite actually we succeded the bridge in wave was fully constructed, Gato and his men are all dead and Zabuza and Haku are also dead" explained Yamato
"Thats good to hear" said Naruto with a smile
"Is everyone else ok?" asked Naruto
"Choji spent some time in the hospital but has already been discharged they visited you about 20 minutes ago but left to go train with my clone" explained Yamato
"Im glad to hear that everyone is ok" said Naruto
"But why am I here?" asked Naruto
"You where knocked out for about 3 days from Chakra exhaustion" explained Yamato
"3 days?!" exclaimed Naruto
"What did I do?" asked Naruto
"You beat both Zabuza and Haku and then took out all of Gatos crew" explained Yamato
The memories of what he did rushed back to Naruto
"I killed so many people" said Naruto with regret
"Its part of the job Naruto im proud of you for doing what you did" said Yamato
"But still its not right, all this death and fighting why can't there be peace?" asked Naruto
"Because that is the Shinobi world" explained Yamato with a sigh
"Hmph" sighed Naruto
Obviously not satisfied with the answer.
"On a more positive note you are free to leave as soon as you gained consciousness, so if you want we can head to the training ground im sure the team would be relieved to see you back on your feet" said Yamato.
"That would be nice" said Naruto
"Oh and one more thing, you said you wanted to be a hero right?" asked Yamato
"Yeah, why?" asked Naruto
"Cause the people in wave believe you are, they even named the bridge The Great Naruto Bridge" explained Yamato
Naruto smiled, at least he was getting closer to achieving his goal.
Im sorry that this took so long to make, ive been really busy with life and the original version of this chapters file got corrupted and I got really demotivated after that happened. Thats why this chapter may seem a little rushed. Ill try and start writing more on this story.
This also marks the end of the first arc the next chapter will probably be some training or something along those lines and then we will get to the chunin exam. I would love to hear your guys opinion on this story so far. Thank you for reading this even after I havent made a new chapter in a while.
