Back in the hospital wing, Severus slowly opened his eyes, the pain in his head and wrist throbbing in unison. Poppy was at his side instantly. "You're awake," she said gently. "How do you feel?" Albus was stroking Severus' hand. "Good to see you, my boy." Not feeling well enough for his usual sarcasm, Severus said, "I… don't feel good. Potions accident?" He guessed, his voice weak. Albus' stroking moved to Severus' cheek, and he kissed his forehead. Poppy, always professional, said, "You had a bad fall. What are your symptoms, Severus?" He replied, "I feel a bit nauseous, and there is a pain in my head, wrist, and chest." Suddenly, his face paled considerably, and he began to retch. "Albus, a basin, quickly!" Poppy instructed. Albus summoned a basin just in time as Severus vomited, a side effect of the concussion and the intense pain. Poppy supported his head. "It's alright, Severus. Just let it out." After a few moments, Severus slumped back, exhausted. Poppy cleaned him up with a quick wave of her wand. "You're alright now," she soothed. "The nausea is from the concussion. We'll keep you comfortable." Severus groaned, and Albus passed him some water to rinse his mouth. After he did this, he quietly said, "Poppy, how did this happen?" Poppy glanced at Albus, who nodded. "The Weasley twins played a prank, causing you to fall down the stairs. They did not mean to injure you, and they tried to stop it when they realised you were carrying volatile potions". Severus exhaled deeply and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Can I talk to them?" Severus questioned. Albus responded, "Not yet, you've still got a lot of healing to do. If you are up to it, you can see them in the morning. I have already given them their punishment, but you can add to it as you see fit." Severus nodded, his eyelids already drooping. He quickly drifted into a fitful sleep. "I'll stay with him tonight", Albus said. Poppy smiled gently. "He'll need all the support he can get. You know where to find me if you need anything." As she left, Albus settled into a chair beside Severus' bed, his heart heavy with the weight of the day's events. He hoped the Weasley twins had learned their lesson, but more than that, he hoped Severus would recover quickly. Watching over his injured Potions Master, Albus vowed to ensure that such an incident would never happen again.
