They loved each other, so much. Tori loved Jade with all her heart, and Jade loved her back.

It didn't feel real, Tori knew. But she hopes that Jade loved her, and she leaves it at that, hoping.

She hoped that maybe one day, when Jade comes home, she'd stop being such a gank and she'd stop breaking Tori's heart into pieces, leaving it shattered like glass.

Jade would leave her girlfriend crying at night, screaming at her, begging for her, and Jade would feel okay.

Jade's fine, even if Tori's not.

"You'll never leave me," Jade would laugh, "you love me way too much for you to do that."

And she's right. Because even if she kept coming home with somebody else's scent on her, with hickeys on her neck, Tori would still stay.

Tori loved her way too much to break and fall apart.

Jade came home one night. She reeks of alcohol and another perfume that wasn't hers. Her eyes wandered around the quiet apartment, falling to the girl in the sofa who is sleeping soundly.

With silent steps, Jade made her way towards her girlfriend, caressing her cheeks with her fingers.

"You love me way too much, Vega." She whispers, "I know you would never leave me."

But just until when is she right?

Last night, Jade came back home.

But instead of a girl waiting for her by the lamp, Jade found Tori dragging her suitcases out of their room.

"Where are you going?" Jade asked.

"Away." Tori replies, choking back a sob. "Somewhere away from you, Jade."

Jade laughed at her, her drunken frame leaning on the wall as she broke into a laughing fit. "Oh, you're funny! You can't, Tori," She snaps. "You don't have the guts to leave me."

"I'm so tired of you," Tori replied as she gripped the handle of the suitcase tighter. Jade could finally see the tears that were falling freely from Tori's cheeks as she desperately tried to wipe it away with her sleeves.

"I'm so tired of trying to understand you, caring for you, loving you. Jade, I'm so tired." Tori cried. "I'm so tired of waiting for you to come back. I'm so tired of us."

Jade could feel a pinch in her chest. Something inside of her snaps, and suddenly, she realized, she's losing Tori.

"T-Tori," Jade inches closer to her, and when she touches Tori's cheek, the woman flinched and shuffled away.

"Stop, I don't want this anymore."

When Tori looks at Jade again, she sees the woman she fell in love with. And it's scary. It's scary how easily she can be driven back to the fool she once was. With a single flick of Jade's eyes and she's trapped all over again.

But this time, she's tired of being trapped. This time, she needed to breathe.

"Stay, darling, we can make this work."

But Tori gave her one bitter smile and walked out further to the door. Her chest was feeling heavy, and the tears streaming down her cheeks weren't stopping.

In a one swift move, Jade grabs her arm.

"Tori, please, stay. I'll change, I promise." Jade pleaded.

Tori turned to face her, she wipes her own tears as smiles faintly, "This is the first time I have ever been so sure that I'm ready to leave you. Let me choose myself this time, Jade."

And when her voice cracks, that's when Jade broke down into sobs. "No, no, no! Tori, please!"

"I'm breaking up with you."

Jade came home to an empty apartment the next day and that's when she realized,

Tori's gone.

And it's fucking painful.
