Chapter 545
I Really Do
The previous locations Cameron and Cammy visited earlier didn't pan out. There was no indication any Skynet activity actually occurred there. They may have been locations which were scouted out for future use. They set up some surveillance equipment in case the sites became active. CamNet would also monitor water and electrical usage and note any change. It would include the surrounding properties in case an illegal 'tap' was hooked up to either one. Grays didn't like to pay for anything they could get for free. They could steal it directly from the water and power company, or a neighbor. Enhanced satellite images would be taken with whatever satellite was nearest by CamNet. They could use their drones at random intervals to check on things as well.
Cameron discussed her plans with Savannah.
They both agreed it would be a recon only at the two other locations Cameron uncovered information on. It wasn't known if they would yield anything or not. CamNet did note significant power use at both locations in the last few months. The locations were fixed so they weren't going anywhere. They would try to see if they could track any truck traffic to identify any other locations.
Skynet tried to diversify its operations so if one facility was compromised, they didn't lose everything. It was what happened in the past. Since then they uncovered sub assemblies from multiple locations. The current operation didn't seem any different. They already took down a small foundry and machine shop. They wanted the assembly line and the finished product. The finished product was the biggest threat.
Savannah called Cammy to make sure everyone was on the same page. They discussed the Resistance business and kept it professional. When it was concluded, things got more personal.
Cammy wanted to know how Savannah felt.
Savannah told her she was fine.
It was Cammy who Savannah was worried about. She wasn't sure Cammy would have destroyed Cameron's chip or not, but it sure looked like she was going to take Cameron down. It was an extreme measure for her.
"Cammy, how are you doing?" Savannah asked.
Cammy didn't like when Savannah sent her away. Now Savannah was with that Bitch, Cameron. She promised to 'play nice' so she would for a while. She would need to see what further danger Cameron placed Savannah in. She figured it would be sooner rather than later.
She couldn't trust Cameron not to endanger Savannah again. Cameron needed to be more careful in everything she did when Savannah was with her. She didn't feel she personally ever endangered Savannah the way Cameron did. She felt her place was at Savannah's side.
"I wanted to ride with you." Cammy said.
Savannah could hear the disappointment in Cammy's voice. Cammy didn't answer her question. She answered for her.
"So, you're not doing so hot." Savannah said.
Cammy didn't say anything for a long moment. She wasn't doing so hot. She didn't think there was anything she could say right now which would be very positive. If she said something negative, it would just make everything worse. She decided to keep it simple. Anything else she said would most likely upset Savannah.
"No." Cammy said. "I'm not."
Cammy was still surprised Savannah showed up when she did. Savannah was about the last person she expected to see when she was about to deactivate Cameron. It seemed to her every time Cameron was in a terminal situation, somehow Savannah was there to prevent it. She wondered if CamNet played a part in anything. Maybe it was better not to find out.
Savannah was worried because Jesse was out. She knew Jesse wanted to watch over her. If Cameron and Cammy hadn't gone through their 'tiff', she would have left everything as it was. It would have allowed Cameron and Cammy to operate a little closer to their Terminator capabilities. Now both of them were going to be restricted. Her main concern was for Jesse.
"Cammy, I want you to make sure Jesse is safe." Savannah said. "I'm counting on you."
Savannah went over the plan with Cammy. It was the same plan Cammy and Cameron were going to use. They were just going to split the recon now among two teams instead of Cammy and Cameron only. It would give them better coverage with two three person teams.
Cameron could see Savannah was about to wrap up her conversation with Cammy. There were a few things she wanted to say. She reached for Savannah's phone.
Savannah looked at Cameron for a few moments and then handed her the phone. She hoped it wasn't a mistake. Everyone needed to be at one hundred percent when they were around the enemy. They didn't need to be caught up in petty squabbles and arguments.
Cameron and Cammy went over a few details. It was all professional. There were no problems. Everyone knew they were there to do a job. They would need to deal with the enemy. The enemy was always dangerous.
John Henry would keep both teams updated.
John was there as well to go over the planning with John Henry. He didn't know how much input he would be able to have with Cameron on the operation. He did understand those on the ground could make a better assessment of the current conditions of the battlefield.
CamNet made sure none of what happened between Cameron and Cammy was known to John or John Henry. Savannah asked the information be suppressed for now. Everyone already seemed to have enough problems. Nobody needed any more.
Cameron and her team would skirt the facility first. She wanted to let Bob off at the south end, while they went to the north side. She felt it would give them better coverage of the location.
Savannah was a little leery about spreading the team out. It would leave Bob alone. She knew Cameron wanted to be the one who was alone. She was aware if it was still Cammy and Cameron, it's how it would've played out.
She needed to think about everything. She was still hurting. On the drive out to the location things begin to hurt a little more. It was probably because the pain medication she took earlier wore off. She knew she was going to be a little stiff once she got out of the vehicle. She wasn't sure yet what her capabilities would be. She knew they weren't going to be one hundred percent. She didn't want her condition to jeopardize the mission.
"Cameron, I'd feel better if we kept the team together for today." Savannah said.
Cameron became concerned. She looked around. She thought it was a sound plan. It was what Cammy and her would have done with just the two of them. She wondered if she missed something.
"Do you anticipate trouble?" Cameron asked.
Savannah thought she better let Cameron know the condition of her 'troops'. It was better to be honest and not get anyone hurt. Maybe if she was honest with Cameron it would encourage her to be as well at a later date.
"No." Savannah said. "I'm not quite one hundred percent today. I'm worried I might jeopardize the mission if I can't act and react to my full capability. I know it's not easy to admit being less than one hundred percent. I just want to put the information out there so everyone knows."
Cameron reached over and began to scan Savannah. She hoped she wasn't pregnant again. She tried to place when the last time Young Jesse was around her. Those were the times when Savannah used what was intended for Young Jesse. Maybe it was from the injury yesterday. Of course it was. What was she thinking? Savannah suffered three severe contusions. She could tell they hurt just by looking at them. She understood for humans the level of pain and discomfort was usually greater a day after the injury occurred. It made her wonder about Savannah's choice of who she brought along. She was surprised to see Jesse.
"Is it why Jesse and Gail came along?" Cameron asked. "I thought you would come with Cam. I hoped Bob would come with you as well."
Bob glanced over at Cameron for a brief moment. He knew Cameron didn't hope he would come along. She specifically told him to make sure he was with Savannah if she left the base. He hung around the Command Center so Savannah would spot him and hopefully ask him to go along. If she didn't, he would go out to the carpool and get into her vehicle with whoever she was with. He didn't think she would protest.
"I was very pleased when Jesse asked me to accompany them." Bob said. "It's always a pleasure to be with Savannah, regardless of what she is doing."
Savannah didn't know when the last time Gail and Jesse were on an 'official' mission. She was pretty sure Gail and Jesse hunted future Scavengers when they went out. No one ever knew what they did. She desired 'more' from Jesse and she wanted it for a long time. She always thought Jesse would be her first. She tried real hard for it to happen. Cameron made it happen for her in a different way with Young Jesse.
"Jesse helped me get dressed today." Savannah said. "I experienced some difficulty until she assisted me. I was a little stiff and sore. I still am."
Savannah waited for the SUV to swerve but it didn't. She thought it might. She wondered if she would have mentioned she only wore her underwear when Jesse arrived, and she helped her with everything, if it would make a difference. She decided not to share the information at this time. She didn't know Cameron 'talked' with Jesse.
Cameron looked over to her left side where no one could see her face and smiled. It was what she wanted for Savannah. She wanted Savannah to have 'more'. She wanted more human females around her. She looked back to her right side with a straight face.
"I asked Jesse to be more attentive to your 'needs'." Cameron said. "I'll thank her. It's very important to me your needs are satisfied, all of them."
Savannah swallowed hard. Cameron just 'told' her she could openly pursue Jesse. She hoped Vanna knew. She witnessed Vanna threaten Jesse before when she was younger. Vanna told Jesse she would kill her if she touched her, and meant it. She couldn't imagine a circumstance where she would say the same thing to Young Jesse down the road, and mean it. She didn't want events to get away from her needlessly.
"Jesse only helped me get dressed." Savannah said. "I thought it was you when she knocked. I said 'come in'. It wasn't you. It was Jesse."
Savannah didn't think it was a good idea to mention to Cameron it was Cammy and her who snuck away from the Resistance base while she was sleeping. She really expected Cammy to be there in the morning when she woke up.
Cameron hoped Jesse would have pushed it a little more. Maybe it would happen later. She wondered if maybe it already hadn't. As much as she wanted to know, she wanted to give Savannah some decency and privacy. She was sure Jesse would find numerous ways to make Savannah feel 'nice'.
"How are you feeling now?" Cameron asked as she started to scan Savannah again.
Savannah thought Cameron wanted to see if her sexual desires were elevated. They were. She wanted to share the same way with Jesse as she shared with Young Jesse. What she didn't want was to get scanned right now.
"I don't feel as good as I did five seconds ago." Savannah said.
Cameron quickly withdrew her hand. She already picked up numerous readings. She could see Savannah was 'hungry' for Jesse. It was what she wanted for both of them. She believed it was what Savannah desired. She wanted Savannah to be happy.
"You know I worry about you." Cameron said. "I think about you a lot. I worry about you a lot."
The SUV swerved slightly.
Bob spoke for the second time since getting into the SUV and greeting Cameron.
"Do you want me to drive?" Bob asked.
Cameron silently pulled over.
Both Bob and Savannah were surprised.
"You can drive, Bob. Thank you." Cameron said. "Savannah will sit behind you and I'll sit next to her."
Everyone switched places.
Savannah silently reached over and took Cameron's hand which started to glitch, the glitch stopped. She gave Cameron's hand a soft gentle squeeze. She wanted to convey a message of love silently to Cameron.
It was very reassuring to Cameron. It was the love she sought. There was love which flowed from Savannah. Things didn't need to be sexual. Maybe it was what made it more beautiful. There were a few things she wanted to tell Savannah. They were important to her. She wanted to make herself clear. She didn't care if Bob heard what she said either.
"Savannah, I want to say thank you again for saving me." Cameron said. "You've saved me from termination more than once. Every time was a great risk to you. You could have been terminated as well."
Cameron realized Savannah did it again a very short while ago. It was yesterday. Wait. The last time was only a couple hours ago when Cammy was going to deactivate her. She was sure it was something she was still going to need to deal with going forward. She knew what a Bitch Cammy could be.
Savannah didn't want a big deal made about any of it. It was done. It was in the past. She felt she would have done the same for anyone in the Resistance, even when she stayed when she could've left. How do you run out on a teammate? It wasn't her. She didn't want it to seem like she was anyone special.
"Cameron, I did what anyone would've done." Savannah said. "We all help each other. We all need to help each other."
Cameron felt otherwise. She was able to see how close to termination she really was. It was very close.
"NO, it was more than just duty." Cameron said. "The 'Metal Bitch' was a millisecond from ripping my head off. She tried to overload my power cell and vaporize me. I was careless and almost paid with my existence, my life."
Savannah risked her existence, her life, to save her.
Savannah was unsure what Cameron was getting at. She wasn't sure she liked the direction of the conversation. She wanted to gently take control before Cameron got 'wound up'. It never ended well when she did.
She leaned over and readjusted herself to lie over on her side and put her head in Cameron's lap. She looked up at Cameron's face sideways. Cameron gently stroked her cheek and hair. She put Cameron's other hand on the side of her neck so she could scan her. Cameron went to move it but she held it firm. She smiled at Cameron.
It was always Savannah's way to be closer to Cameron in a non sexual way. It was how she could share herself with Cameron and they could be as one together. She did it since she was a girl. She soon realized she could soothe Cameron with herself. All she needed to do was be herself, and be true. She just needed to be real.
They drove in silence like that for a while.
Bob didn't want to look back at them, but they were near the target area.
"We'll be there in five minutes." Bob said.
Neither Cameron nor Savannah moved.
Three minutes later Bob spoke again.
"We're two minutes out." Bob said.
Savannah frowned and sat up. She hoped she gave Cameron what she 'needed' to feel loved and reassured. It was to share what Cameron could take from her. She felt it was a way to be closer to someone she loved than sex was. Sex was very physical and there was a physical payoff to the activity. This was different. This was an emotional connection without the goal of sexual gratification.
Cameron was very pleased Savannah could share with her like she did. They were the only two who did it with each other. It was their special time.
"Thank you, Savannah." Cameron said. "It was beautiful."
Savannah smiled. She wanted to be with Cameron sexually too. It would happen one day. It wouldn't be until Cameron was ready. What they did now was special to them. It was a human and a machine as one.
Bob knew nothing sexual happened, but somehow the feelings they soundlessly exchanged were. He envied Cameron sometimes. Then again, he witnessed the other side of the emotions. Maybe the pain was worth the pleasure of sharing. He felt Cameron was very lucky to have been chosen by Savannah.
He relived the image of Savannah as she placed her body in front of Cameron's to protect her and defend her. He knew it was love. He knew Savannah would have fought to the death before she abandoned Cameron. He was even more impressed when he realized the three terminated Terminators all fell to Savannah as she protected Cameron. He didn't know until he viewed Savannah's body cam footage later on.
The SUV swerved.
Bob was glad it was only a pot hole and not him.
Earlier:
Cammy ended the conversation with Savannah and Cameron. She was still angry because Cameron was with Savannah. She was upset Savannah sent her away. Maybe if she hadn't tried to deactivate Cameron, the three of them would be together now. She was pleased she was the second one to be with Savannah. She was the first machine to do so. Maybe she needed to concentrate on that. It was something she did, which Cameron hadn't. It did give her some satisfaction.
Jesse was in the front with Gail. She looked back and noticed Cammy's hand started to glitch. She figured it was over whatever happened earlier with Cameron, Cammy, and Savannah. She knew how Savannah could soothe Cameron. She wanted to soothe Cammy. Cammy was 'Cameron' after all.
"Gail, I want to sit in the back and catch up with Cammy." Jesse said.
Jesse sought Gail's approval to comfort Cammy, and not offend Gail. It was a thoughtful move. There was no need to upset one to soothe another.
Gail witnessed the confrontation with Cammy and Cameron. She knew Cammy was 'sent away'. She nodded. She knew every Terminator feared rejection by the one they loved and being sent away like Cameron was from her future. The fear of 'replacement' was in all of their minds.
Jesse climbed into the back. She made sure she made repeated contact with Cammy as she moved into position on her left side.
She silently took Cammy's hand which glitched. It slowed and then the glitch stopped. She wanted to 'offer' Cammy 'more'. There were several ways to do it. She readjusted herself and her right breast popped out of her shirt, the nipple ring shined brightly.
It triggered a 'memory' in Cammy which wasn't her memory, even if it was, sort of. She wanted to hold the breast in her hand and fondle it. It was just the right size for it. The pigmentation was much darker than her own. Just as hers was darker than Savannah's.
"It's beautiful. I remember when I put them on for you, when Cameron did, I mean." Cammy said. "Everything about you is beautiful, Jesse. I know how highly Cameron thinks of you."
Cammy figured Jesse would know she was 'Cameron', even if she was 'out of date'. It always seemed to 'up her appeal' more than just her appearance would.
Jesse was grateful to Cameron for changing the direction of her life. She felt Cameron gave her a life worth living.
"Cameron has done a lot for me and I appreciate it." Jesse said. "Cameron has changed my life. I owe her so much. She has helped my family and younger self. Cameron is the greatest."
Jesse reached forward and touched Gail. She didn't want to leave her out. She loved Gail dearly.
"Cameron helped me get together with this beautiful woman." Jesse said.
Gail was pleased Jesse referred to her as a 'woman'. They all knew she was a machine. Jesse made her forget sometimes…. Jesse was the same as Duplicate Jesse, but they were different. It was hard to explain. Cameron replaced Duplicate Jesse with Jesse when they thought Duplicate Jesse was dead. Cameron 'gave' her 'Jesse' twice and allowed her to share with Young Jesse as well.
It was all a great experience thanks to Cameron. It allowed her to improve herself not only as a cyborg, but as a female, even if she masqueraded as one. She was constructed as a Restorator by Mrs. Weaver. She was never under the control of Skynet but could act the same as any other Terminator when she needed to. Jesse made her forget about what she was.
Gail actually talked with the other Metal girls about it. They all said being with the human girls made them forget they were machines at times. They knew Cameron could really think she was Future Allison, and a real human for an extended period of time.
She was glad Jesse loved her and she loved Jesse.
Jesse tried to get Cammy's mind off of the earlier events. She envied Savannah, Vanna, and her younger self because they all shared a 'Cameron clone' as a lover and mate. She knew her other Duplicate self, 'In Some Future', shared one as well.
Gail didn't want Cammy to get sidetracked on Jesse. She could see how she was transfixed on Jesse's exposed breast. She was actually surprised she hadn't begun to fondle it yet. She would have, it was right there. How can one not touch it? It fit so nicely into a hand. She looked down at herself. It would take four hands to hold just one of her breasts. She needed to refocus.
"We are coming up on our target." Gail said.
Cammy decided to repeat Savannah's request to the three of them.
"Savannah asked we all stay together." Cammy said.
Jesse knew Savannah thought about her safety, not Savannah's own safety. It was why Savannah wanted to have two Terminators with her. She knew Gail and Cammy would protect her. She would protect them as well.
Gail wanted to make sure no one got carried away. In this case 'no one' was Cammy.
"This is just a recon with some surveillance gear we will leave behind." Gail reminded them. "There's no need to turn it into an assault if we don't need to. If action needs to be taken, we can have more troops sent, along with our drones."
Cammy knew Cameron would act accordingly. She figured Savannah would have to hold Cameron in check.
"Cameron will do the same." Cammy said. "It's important we find where those HK drones came from."
Jesse was aware there were different versions of Skynet. Not everything was always identical even if it was the same.
"Are they standard Skynet designs?" Jesse asked.
Cammy checked on that same question herself.
"Yes." Cammy said. "They were nearly identical to ours from the wreckage we examined."
Jesse wanted to point out the obvious. She remembered what Savannah faced.
"It means more Terminators…." Jesse said.
Cammy knew Cameron wanted more female Terminators if possible.
"Cameron wants more if we can capture them." Cammy said. "That's more as in HK drones and Terminators."
Gail thought it was a risk. There were other ways to deal with Skynet.
"It would be safer to flatten the place if it's an assembly line." Gail said.
Cammy knew what Cameron wanted and would do to obtain it.
"Cameron will lead the assault." Cammy said. "That's if it is even what we're looking for."
Jesse tensed up. It meant Savannah would go with Cameron again.
Cammy noted Jesse's reaction. It was clear Jesse loved Savannah.
"Relax, they'll protect each other." Cammy said. "I'll try to go with Savannah as well. Cameron may need me elsewhere."
Gail was troubled by the earlier events. She saw what was about to happen. Savannah instructed Jesse, Bob, and her to remain in the SUV. She went on her own to deal with the situation. It seems very tense. She needed to know what would have actually occurred.
"Would you have really deactivated Cameron earlier?" Gail asked.
Cammy planned to do it. She knew Savannah wouldn't have allowed Cameron to be terminated. She wanted to make a point.
"Yes. I wasn't bluffing." Cammy said. "I wanted her to know I could take her down and I did, well, almost. I wouldn't have terminated her. She needs to think about Savannah more. Cameron has almost gotten Savannah killed several times. I don't know how else to make a point so Savannah is better protected."
Gail was as impressed as every Terminator was of Savannah in action.
"I saw the footage of Savannah with Cameron and you." Gail said. "I was very impressed. Savannah has saved Cameron more than once from certain termination."
Jesse noted Cammy's hand started to glitch again. She thought about placing it on her still exposed breast. She didn't know what it would do. She would like to find out. She thought it might be better than holding Cammy's hand. If Gail wasn't there she would've done it right then.
"Oh no, love." Jesse said as she took Cammy's hand again. "We'll all look out for each other. We always have."
Cammy's hand stopped glitching. She wanted them to know what her plan was.
"I wanted to make a point. If Cameron persists in endangering Savannah, I may be forced to act." Cammy said. "I would've reactivated her soon anyway."
Jesse was a little worried still. She wanted to give Cammy a reminder about Savannah.
"We know you would have." Jesse said. "You would never hurt 'yourself' or hurt Savannah by hurting 'yourself'."
Cammy tilted her head slightly.
"I hope not." Cammy said. "I really do."
Cammy really wished she did know.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
I Really Do
You can tell someone
What you think you know
The sad fact of the matter is
It doesn't make it so
Not everyone always feels
What they think they feel
It makes a difference
As to what's really real
People get caught up
In a moment of time
They can't see ahead
That things may not chime
There actually are some
That their heart may beat true
Maybe that's how it is
From me to you
I know what I want
You do too
It's what I want
I really do
Nobody
