Chapter 595

Dispose Of Them

The attack was underway at the building complex. Derek previously posed as the janitor and slipped inside to gather intel. The layout of the building was already known.

Derek backed up to the dock with the large brown delivery van. It was a 'Trojan Horse'. It got them into the compound unopposed without even a check at the security gate. It was loaded with eight Terminators. He noted the trash collection cart was still sitting where he left it. It was right on the edge of the dock near the three large dumpsters below it. He thought it was a good thing. They may not have missed the janitor yet. If they missed the janitor, the security level would have been raised.

He watched behind him through his side view mirror. He saw the door from the building open behind him. The occupants were used to seeing the brown delivery van everyday. It was routine to open the door and receive the shipment. It was always the same thing, they were very complacent.

Derek glanced over at the guard shack. He saw Mel, one of their Terminators, ready to make his move. He heard the back door of the van open and the eight Terminators in the back rushed forward into the building. He glanced back at the guard shack as Mel tossed something out the back of it. It was the uncaring and lazy guard. He was now terminated.

Seconds ago:

Mel approached the compound from the street side. He was on the sidewalk. He watched the brown delivery van approach the location. It drove right in without being challenged by the guard. It moved forward and backed up to the dock. He knew it was time to make his move.

He rushed forward and came around the back of the guard booth. The guard still looked at his phone as he opened the door, which wasn't even locked. Before the guard could turn around, he already grabbed his head. He snapped his neck and the guard's phone fell to the floor. He noticed they were images of pornography on the screen of the phone. He pulled off the guard's coat and threw his body outside the guard shack. It landed in back of it. He collected the guard's hat from the floor along with his phone.

Mel spotted Derek on his way over. He handed him the guard's coat and hat. He hurried over to the brown delivery van and climbed inside.

As part of the plan, Derek left the keys in the brown van's ignition. It was left running in neutral with the parking brake set. He went over to the guard shack. He passed Mel on the way to take over the brown van. Mel handed him the guard's jacket and hat. He put them on and took up his position in place of the guard. To anyone who looked, it would be the same thing they normally looked at when they viewed the guard shack.

So far there was no shooting. It didn't last long. There were a few shots and then silence. He looked around the outside area. No one paid any attention. There were two more shots which were very muffled. He looked out over the rear of the guard shack. He saw the body of the guard on the ground behind it.

Derek watched the brown delivery van bounce slightly as bodies of the Grays were loaded into it. He couldn't help but think it was the same individuals he spotted a short time ago when they loaded the big rig. Now they were all dead. It didn't matter. They worked for Skynet.

So far the first phase of the operation went smoothly and according to plan. He didn't think more than a minute passed since he backed up to the dock.

Cameron kept her eyes on the enemy. She watched the big truck, SUV, and van. She was fed the information as to what happened with Bob's crew. The attack was underway. A few seconds later the SUV started up and took off. It headed back in the direction of the facility. It appeared a call for help was sent out. In this case, it was what they wanted to happen. They wanted to thin the personnel where her team was at.

So far everything went according to the plan. It was Cameron's plan. With some time and plenty of personnel, she was able to come up with a good workable plan. Because Derek was previously inside the building, they knew the layout and the approximate number of Grays.

Cameron watched the SUV take the most direct route back toward the building. It was part of her plan as well. Everything was in place and her second team was ready.

"Ally, get ready, they're right on time." Cameron said.

Ally was still a little upset because she needed to be the one to do the next part of the operation. She thought Sheila should have. She decided to mess with Cameron some.

"I'm always ready." Ally responded. "The truck is ready too."

Gail and Sheila were to act after Ally did.

"We're ready to move too." Gail said. "We have Tasers and our weapons ready."

Sheila and Gail watched and waited at the contact point. They didn't know if there would be a Terminator inside of the SUV or not.

"We haven't seen them yet." Sheila said. "Wait, here they come."

There was a loud rumble. Cameron looked back and the big truck started. She saw a large puff of black smoke billow out of the exhaust stack. The big truck was ready to move as was the van with it.

Cam was summoned by Cameron as well to be a part of the operation. As Vanna's 'guardian', she didn't get out as much as Sheila or Ally.

"Cameron, I'm almost at your location." Cam said. "Where do you want me?"

Cameron watched the truck and van depart her observation point.

"It looks like the big truck is headed south. The van has moved behind it." Cameron said. "They may change directions again."

Cam wanted to make a bold move. There were enough Metal girls to take down a big truck and a van.

"Why don't we take the van out and neutralize it as a threat." Cam said. "Cammy can help me. Savannah can drive and you can commandeer the big truck."

Savannah listened to the proposal as Cam laid it out. It was clear Cam was a clone of Cameron. It sounded exactly like something Cameron would want to do. She wondered if maybe Cameron hadn't communicated the idea to her. She knew Terminators could converse at a decibel level she couldn't hear. It didn't matter. It was a sound plan.

Cameron looked at Savannah and she nodded back.

"It's a go…." Cameron said.

Savannah moved from the back seat into the driver's seat of the SUV. Cammy slid over into the front passenger's seat. Cameron was in the rear seat.

Ally waited to make her move. She saw the Gray's SUV headed her way. Sheila and Gail waited in an alley. It was her job to 'T-Bone' the SUV and try to shove and deflect it into the alley.

She waited as she calculated the distance and speed of the Gray's SUV. She already tested the acceleration time of the truck she was in. She calculated how the impact would slow her velocity and the resistance of the other vehicle would factor into its new trajectory. She didn't think it was too much different than playing a game of Billiards. She tromped on the accelerator and angled for her hit. Her targeting information lined up perfectly.

There was a loud 'crash' as she impacted the SUV the Grays were in. She deflected it as she shoved it. The two vehicles barely stopped moving before Sheila and Gail were at the Gray's SUV. They Tasered the occupants and drug them to their SUV. It was parked in the alley. Ally clambered over the wreckage and followed after them to the SUV. The two damaged vehicles would prevent anyone else from gaining any easy access to the alley. It would take some time for anyone to figure out there wasn't anyone in either of the two vehicles. The SUV with the Metal girls in it was long gone.

The plan called for the three of them to depart the area with the prisoners if any survived. Sheila was to interrogate them.

Gail could see Ally and Sheila could take care of things by themselves. There was something personal she wanted to pursue.

Sheila and Ally made sure the two men were secure.

Gail arrived near where the vehicle she drove there was parked. She stopped the SUV and got out.

"You two can handle it from here." Gail said and took off.

Ally and Sheila looked at each other. It was a deviation from the plan. They didn't think Cameron was going to like it.

"What's her story?" Ally asked.

Sheila understood Gail's affliction.

"She's in love…." Sheila said.

Ally remembered Jesse's specific concern about Gail earlier and how her behavior was 'different'. The deviation from the plan was certainly different. She needed to act.

"Can you handle these clowns?" Ally asked. "I better go with her."

Sheila didn't mind. It was something she preferred. Other Terminators didn't always like the way she did things. If she was alone with the prisoners, she could do whatever she wanted. She was highly stimulated at the thought.

"Yes." Sheila said. "I plan to 'handle' them."

Ally frowned at Sheila a little. She knew where the interrogation was headed. She was just glad she wouldn't have to hear the screams of the men as Sheila 'worked' on them. It became very irritating after a short amount of time.

"Thanks." Ally said and started off after Gail.

Sheila smiled. She laughed as she looked at the men now in her custody. She wanted some answers. She knew she would get them. She always did. She laughed again.

Earlier:

Bob waited in the back of the brown delivery truck. There were seven Terminators with him. It was a force to be reckoned with in a combat zone. The brown delivery van was a 'Trojan Horse'. They drove right into the compound and backed up to the dock unopposed. Now they waited for the Grays to open the doors into the interior for them. It really didn't get any easier than that. They wouldn't have to fight their way in, or blow open any security doors to gain access to the interior.

The door from the building to the loading dock opened.

Mel verified the door was open as he moved away from the guard shack towards the brown delivery van.

Bob lifted the rear door on the delivery truck. He led the Resistance Terminators into the building. They already knew the layout of the building and everyone was assigned a specific target area. They would each deal with their own section, or engage any targets of opportunity as they presented themselves.

Jim and Bob were to take the initial entry point. They were each assigned to a side of the door. The other six Terminators would move straight down the middle to their assigned areas.

Bob punched the man who opened the door in the face. The front of the Gray's face caved it. He was knocked back out of the way.

Jim slammed the Gray who was next to the man who opened the door into a concrete wall. There was a loud dull 'thud' and the sound of bones breaking. The man was terminated as well.

Bob turned left as he entered. He was aware of the other Terminators going straight to their assigned areas deeper into the building. There were two Grays on his side. They both were seated at a table. He slammed their heads together. He could feel the skulls crush in his hands as they impacted. He continued to close both of his arms a little tighter to make sure their skulls were thoroughly crushed. He released their lifeless bodies. He moved on towards a Gray at a workbench whose back was to him.

Jim turned to the right as they entered. He wanted to terminate the guard in the shack because he was so lazy. It wasn't to be the case. He didn't care for the way he communicated with him either. He found an even better target as he entered. It was the man who gave a twenty dollar bill to him earlier to leave with the trash truck. It was so the big rig could back up to the dock. He didn't like the man's attitude towards him. He especially didn't like the way the man looked at him personally. He was sure it was because of the pigmentation of his sheath. Now was his chance to get some retribution on his second target of choice.

He could see right before he grabbed the Gray's neck the man recognized him. There was a smile on his face as he crushed the Gray's neck. He dropped the lifeless 'rag doll' to the ground. There were no more targets in his sector. He followed the other Terminators further into the interior.

Bob moved up to the man at the workbench. He just started to turn around. He rabbit punched the Gray and snapped his neck. The Gray's head impacted with the work bench. He ended up on the floor.

He was to remain at the rear of the building and make sure their exit was secure. He only left the back of the brown van seven seconds ago. He watched Mel arrive at the side of brown van and move into the driver's seat a short time later.

There were a few shots, but it was all. The Terminators were to physically engage their targets to keep shooting to a minimum. They could use weapons if they needed to.

The Resistance force terminated all of the enemy personnel. Only two individuals were able to put up a fight. They didn't last long. There was minimal damage to their group.

John Henry cut all power to the area when they went in so only the emergency lights were on.

Four of their team collected the dead and threw them into the back of the brown van as the other four started to collect information and anything which looked like it might have value.

John and John Henry followed the operation from start to finish. They were able to watch it unfold from the body cams on the Terminator's vests.

"So far things have gone well." John said. "It looks like things do go better when there's a little planning involved instead of just brute force."

John Henry thought so too. He was just glad Cameron hadn't gone in alone herself. It was what would have happened otherwise.

"Damage was minimal." John Henry said.

John informed Bob's team there was surveillance equipment on the way and a box truck to load anything of value into. They would put the grab on any Skynet related materials or machinery.

The Resistance was able to glean many things from Skynet related operations. What they couldn't use directly was stored in warehouses or bunkers depending on the nature of the items.

John Henry, at Cameron's direction, always stockpiled things the Resistance would need for the future. They now were able to add captured and modified Skynet equipment to the caches.

They also took the machinery from any of the production facilities too. They would be able to set up their own production lines at some point. It was all thanks to Skynet.

Claire was upset Hanna was 'left' upstairs. She was their final line of defense outside the bunker if the house was attacked. The Detail was the first line of defense.

She looked at all the monitors. It was all violent and confusing to her. She looked very nervous and uneasy. She knew men died. It all happened so fast. She didn't even think it lasted twenty seconds from start to finish inside the building. She did hear a few gunshots, but there weren't very many.

"There are so many things all happening at once." Claire said. "It's like it's all happening at the same time."

Young Allison would have preferred her mother was elsewhere. She did want her to know it was a typical operation for the Terminators. There was always a lot of violence involved. Whenever the enemy was encountered, they were terminated. They didn't take prisoners. There was nowhere for them to keep them. They thought about using the TDE to send them back to the future. They weren't always sure which future they were from. They didn't want to risk the possibility of one of them escaping and providing Skynet with any information about the past. It would allow Skynet to make further specific attacks if it knew what needed to be attacked.

"It's like this a lot, Mom." Young Allison said. "There are many things to keep track of."

Claire knew Savannah was out there too with Cameron somewhere. She watched them leave the house earlier. She could see they left in a hurry. She took it as a bad sign from the beginning.

"Savannah needs to be careful." Claire said as she looked at Anna.

Anna wasn't sure why Claire looked at her. Maybe it was because she was identical to Savannah in appearance. Maybe she didn't want to look at her daughter and think about the danger she would soon face. She didn't want Claire to worry needlessly, especially about Savannah.

"She will be." Anna said. "She's very experienced."

Young Allison wanted to remind her mother Derek was there too. She hoped she would worry less about Savannah if she did. Savannah wouldn't be the only non-Terminator there.

"Derek is as well." Young Allison said. "The Terminators will take the heat for them."

Holly looked at Allison and then at Claire.

"I'm going to check with Hanna." Holly said and left the bunker.

Claire watched Holly go up the stairs. She became a little concerned.

"Is there a problem?" Claire asked.

Allison was with Summer as she watched Holly leave. It was something she wondered about herself.

"I hope not." Allison said. "I already have enough to worry about."

Summer touched Allison's cheek when she said it and smiled. Allison was less worried now with the contact from her sister.

Young Allison saw it happen. Summer looked at her and smiled too. She knew it wasn't by chance. It was a calculated move by Summer to ease Allison's mind. When Summer looked at her, it was another calculated move to indicate she was in control of the situation. She looked away from Summer and went back to work with Anna. She knew her sister was gifted and special.

Anna wanted everyone to relax. They were only one minute into the operation.

"Everything is under control." Anna said. "It seems as if it's ended as quickly as it started."

The tension level was high and the operation only just got underway.

Young Allison thought it might be true where the structure was located. She didn't think so when it came to the truck. She was sure anything involving the truck wasn't going to be simple, even if it looked like it would be.

Gail wanted to back up Savannah. She left Ally and Sheila behind. She thought about taking the SUV she arrived in but decided against it. There was a good chance the next vehicle she was in was going to be wrecked. She hot wired a pick up truck so she could go to where Savannah was at. She heard someone rapidly approach from behind her.

She pulled her Taser and sidearm and turned to face her target. It could be anything from the owner, to a street punk, or a Terminator.

It was a Terminator.

Ally held her hands out to her sides slightly.

"Easy now, it's cool." Ally said. "I came to help you. We can go together."

Gail leaned over and opened the passenger door. She wanted to take off.

"Hop in." Gail said. "We're leaving."

Gail was given the information directly by CamNet as to where Cameron was at. She headed in the direction indicated. Based on the past behavior of the big rig, it could end up going any direction at any point. There was no way to know what would happen.

It seemed to Ally as if CamNet appreciated Gail's specific concern for Savannah. Maybe there wasn't a problem with Gail at all. She was just very determined to watch over Savannah.

Ally saw they only each carried a pistol and a Taser. They didn't have any long guns. Since they didn't take one of the Resistance SUVs, they were light on heavier weapons. She thought she should point it out to Gail before they took on a task they might have trouble caring out to its fullest.

"You know we're short on firepower." Ally said.

Gail didn't need weapons against Grays. They would be nice, but humans didn't last very long in a fight.

"We're Terminators, It's all the 'firepower' we need." Gail said.

Ally could see Gail was very determined. She didn't think it would be a good idea to question her about anything or what her exact motivation was. She was sure it was love. It was the deeper type of love not based on sex.

Gail wanted to make sure her Taser was ready. She was a little leery about any encounter with hostile Terminators. Savannah told her she needed to dive right back into the fight and not worry about what was done and in the past. It was what she would attempt to do.

It was easier said than done for a Terminator.

Cammy was let off to acquire transportation and to meet up with Cam to stop the van. Cameron moved into the front passenger seat.

Cam and Cammy formulated a plan as they each drove.

Ally notified them Gail and her were only a few minutes away. She indicated Sheila had everything under control when it came to the two Grays they captured from the SUV.

Cameron hadn't anticipated the additional assistance from Gail and Ally. The extra help would make the take down of the van easier. They wanted to try to keep gunfire down to a minimum in the city. She wanted the Metal girls to act on their own. Savannah and her could handle the big rig. There was only one driver. How hard could it be?

"You four, take the van down. I'm going after the truck." Cameron said. "Savannah and I will come and do it."

Savannah was behind the wheel of the SUV. She knew they were close to a freeway. She thought they needed to act before they reached it. If the big rig were to go onto the freeway, it could travel for miles before it pulled off. It would be much easier to interdict it while it was on the surface street, preferably at a stoplight.

"How many signals before he reaches the freeway?" Savannah asked.

Cameron looked over and smiled. She was well acquainted with the traffic signals in the area.

"It's seven signals and one turn." Cameron said. "I know all the traffic signals in the city. I was in the system for a short time."

Savannah was aware of the incident. She wondered if Cameron left a copy of her program hidden somewhere within the traffic system. She figured she at least left parts of it there. It was probably one of the reasons why they could control the traffic system as easily as they could, especially when they needed to use 'traffic management'. They could speed up the progress of the Resistance forces and slow down those of the enemy. Maybe another time would be better for a discussion about it.

"I read about it." Savannah said. "I've studied all you've done."

Cameron looked away from Savannah.

Savannah reached over and took Cameron's hand as it started to glitch. She wanted to reassure Cameron.

"Everything you've done is what you felt and believed was the right thing to do to protect the future and John." Savannah said. "There's no judgment on my part. There never has been ever. There never will be either."

Cameron looked at Savannah. It reassured her greatly.

"I know it, Savannah." Cameron said. "Thank You."

Cameron knew Savannah NEVER gave up on her all the times everyone else did.

Cameron squeezed Savannah's hand.

Savannah thought about the route Cameron described. There was one thing she wanted to try.

"Can Cammy and Cam stop the van at the turn?" Savannah asked. "If they can, the big truck will make the turn, but won't see what happened to the van which was behind him. It just won't be there. He may even slow some to wait for them to catch up. It will probably make your job even easier."

Cameron thought it was an effective strategy.

"Yes." Cameron said. "I'll coordinate it with them as we move to be in front of the truck. I want to be in front of him at the last signal before the freeway. I want him to pull up on us. He will be concerned about what's behind him if the white van doesn't reappear. He won't think about what's already in front of him."

Cameron didn't want the big rig to make it onto the freeway. She wanted the cargo before it happened. She was sure the cargo was something very important to Skynet. If it was important to Skynet, it was important to her. She needed to know what Skynet was up to.

Derek acted as the guard. He was to make sure no other vehicles entered the compound. There were none. Even with the few shots fired, no one ever looked or paid attention. Since they happened inside the structure they weren't very loud.

He saw the brown delivery van pull away from the dock. Jim was driving. Mel was in the front with him. Mel hopped out as they stopped at the guard shack. Mel retrieved and tossed the body of the guard into the back.

"Derek, you go with Jim." Mel said. "We'll finish up here."

They were ready to depart when a medium sized box truck pulled in. It was driven by one of Cameron's Terminators. They arrived with surveillance equipment and demolition charges. They wanted to know if any Grays returned. They would have a 'surprise' for them if they did.

Jim explained the plan was to wire the building up to see who came to check out what happened. Then blow the building if necessary. It was a tactic they used before against different Grays.

The box truck would carry away anything they wanted to take and the rest of the team. Skynet always provided them with material. They were always taken to secure remote locations for evaluation and checked for any tracking devices.

Derek looked at the empty guard booth.

"What about having a guard here?" Derek asked. "Maybe I need to stay."

John wanted Derek away from there.

"Derek, Mel will stay, you and Jim clear out." John said. "We don't know what the response will be to what we've done today. I want to make sure Jim has some backup until we're well away from the target area. You'll be able to provide it for him."

Derek could see it would be better if you went with Jim, rather than tie up another Terminator to do it.

"Roger." Derek said. "I think someone needs to check all the chemical tanks here and make sure they're empty. If they're not, I don't think it's something we should leave behind. The chemicals really affected a lot of people in my future."

Derek handed Mel the hat and coat.

Jim drove away. A team would be waiting to go over all the bodies and phones for information and dispose of them. They would have the hard drives from any computers which were there in addition to them. They would try to uncover any more Skynet targets to hit.

The next issue would be with Cameron's teams.

Closing monologue by Cameron:

Shall Endeavor

Lost on the path to nowhere
Is where life leads us daily
Blind to what surrounds us
We smile and carry on gaily

We are shown but can't see
We are told but can't hear
We stumble and trip on the SAME debris
What is far is yet so near

Timbers of our lives crack and sag
Who is willing to grab them and hold
Time has tarnished our bruised spirit
What was once youth now grows old

They can feel us scream
But not see, hear or taste
Viewed as nothing more than rubbish
Away true love does anguishingly waste

Every second, minute, hour, month or year lost
Is time and opportunity squandered forever
There is more than one path to freedom
One light, one dark, which shall endeavor

Nobody
