Chapter 638
Sweet Thing
Cammy drove away from the 'safe house'. She tried not to look in the rear view mirror. She already knew what she would see if she did. It was the 'future'. There was nothing she could do about it.
Savannah was fast asleep in the back with her head on Cameron's lap. It was a very peaceful moment for both of them.
Cameron and Cammy spoke in low decibel tones only another Terminator could hear so they wouldn't disturb Savannah.
Cammy wanted to know where Cameron wanted to go. The last thing she heard them discuss while she waited outside was their intended location was Palmdale. It was clear who they would visit.
"Are we still going to see Young Allison?" Cammy asked. "She will be happy to see both of you."
Cameron faced a choice now. She could pursue her personal agenda, or think about Savannah. She looked down and saw a bruise on Savannah's cheek. It was the final straw. The only one she could blame was herself.
"We were, but not anymore." Cameron said. "I want Savannah to rest up and heal up for a few days. I want her to be in perfect health. I'm ashamed of the abuse her body has taken. It's all my fault."
Cameron knew Savannah would exert herself to be with Young Allison and do all the things Young Allison wanted to do. Any other time it was what she would want. She wanted their bond unbreakable.
They drove in silence back to the Resistance base. Cameron carefully carried an exhausted Savannah to her room. Cammy opened the door and unfolded her bed. Cameron gently laid Savannah down. All of her clothes were clean. They were just put on in the safe house within the last hour. Cammy removed her shoes.
Cameron took Cammy out of the room. She wasn't sure how the conversation would go. There was always a lot of friction and contention about Savannah between them. It was because they both wanted the same thing. It was Savannah.
"Get her rested and the proper nutrition she'll need." Cameron said. "I want her in top health."
Cammy knew where things were going. She didn't care for Cameron's agenda. She decided to avoid the 'dance' and cut straight to the point She wanted to make her dissatisfaction known.
"Are you going to breed her again?" Cammy asked. "She's not livestock or a pet."
Cameron was infuriated by Cammy's remarks. They weren't true. She raised her hand to strike Cammy but refrained. She promised Savannah she wouldn't fight with Cammy. She still faced her head on.
"I NEVER have done it." Cameron said. "How dare YOU say I did. YOU were the one there when she did it, NOT me. YOU allowed it to happen. Don't blame me for what YOU did. It wouldn't have happened under my watch, if I was the one watching her. I should have made you more like me so you could be trusted and honorable."
The last thing Cammy wanted was to be more like Cameron. If anything, she wanted to be less like Cameron. She wasn't about to take the 'rap' for those events either. Savannah was 'conditioned' for years as she slept. Most of it happened long before she was ever created. She wanted Cameron to atone for her own sins.
"She knew it was what you wanted." Cammy said. "YOU made her promise for half her life. She did it for YOU. I don't want to be more like you. I'm already too much like you. I can be trusted and I am honorable. You can't say the same thing about yourself."
Cameron told Savannah more than once everything was off. She meant it when she said it too. She was sure Savannah still wanted to honor her prior commitments, even if she was no longer committed to honor them.
"I've released her from all of her promises to ME." Cameron said. "I'll tell her again. She is free to make all of her own choices."
Cameron no longer wanted Savannah to feel she needed to do the things she promised her she would do. There were other reasons involved now as well.
Cammy knew the promises were spoken. The 'conditioning' was deep inside Savannah's head. Things were deeply rooted in her mind. There were Savannah's own feelings as well. It was what Savannah believed, even if she didn't know it was.
"It won't matter, she loves you." Cammy said. "She knows what you want and will do ANYTHING for you. It's why she did what she did. You didn't have to be there for it to happen. It happened anyway because Savannah wanted to please you. She wanted to prove to you she loved you."
Cammy wanted to say Savannah was 'brainwashed' but didn't. She didn't know if there was any other way to actually describe it. Was being 'conditioned' any different than being 'brainwashed'? It seemed to her the only difference was the way the words were spelled.
Cameron wanted Savannah to give her virginity to John years ago. She wanted them in a love relationship. They should have several children by now. It never happened. There were things Savannah could have done but didn't. She didn't do them even when she was 'pushed'.
"No she won't." Cameron said. "There are things she resisted, it's not 'everything'."
Cammy didn't think Cameron understood how much Savannah loved her. It was why it hadn't happened.
"She'll do anything except hurt you." Cammy said. "She almost did it anyway. It happened naturally and organically. We talked about it. She believes she will hurt you more than she will help you by doing what you think you want her to do. It's not even her natural desire. She will still do it because she loves you. What about her? Do you ever think about her? Why can't she be free to choose what she wants to do? Why can't she choose who she wants to be with?"
Cameron thought about something else which almost happened. Savannah made everyone promise not to talk about what Cammy tried to do with John when she pretended to be Savannah. She believed it showed how deceitful Cammy actually was. She tried to steal something precious from both John and Savannah. In the dark, John would have thought he was with Savannah. Savannah should have ordered them not to think about it rather than just not talk about it. It made her want to strike Cammy again.
"I want it to happen." Cameron said. "I have to free John of his obligations and commitments to me. It never should have happened. I've stalled his life and growth. I'm endangering him and his future. His involvement with me puts him at bigger risk than any protection I can offer him. I need to protect him."
Cammy expected a fight. She could see Cameron was on the verge of losing control. She was highly unstable. She still believed Cameron should be deactivated. Not only would it protect John, it would protect Savannah as well. It would protect all of them.
Cameron abruptly turned away.
Cammy was surprised. She wondered where Cameron was off to, especially in her current condition. She seemed even more unstable to her than she normally did.
"Where are you going?" Cammy asked.
Cameron knew what needed to be done. It was something she should have done a long time ago. She already tried to do it several times. John seemed to have trouble grasping the concept of what she wanted. She was sure he must have some type of learning disability. Everything couldn't be about what he wanted. It didn't matter which John it was either.
"I'm going to divorce John, again." Cameron said. "It's the only way I can protect Savannah. They must mate and start a family. It will protect both of them. I'm going to be responsible for both of their terminations if I don't."
Cammy thought everything Cameron said all sounded like bad ideas. What about what the other people wanted? Everything needed to be about Cameron in control.
"Listen to yourself." Cammy said. "Don't people have a say in their own lives? Why can't you let them make their own decisions? Why can't you let them make their own choices? It's not about what you want for everyone. It needs to be about what they want. Do you want them to live lives of misery like you do? How long do you think anything will last if it's not left up to those involved?"
It seemed to Cameron events just happened on their own accord. Her battle damage seemed to accelerate things much sooner than anticipated.
"I NEED to protect John and Savannah." Cameron said. "It was my function. My emotional programming wasn't supposed to expand and grow this quickly, it all happened years too early. None of the 'other stuff' was supposed to happen. Look at the mess it's created."
It was clear Cameron referred to being married to John, without actually saying it. It was a further indication she tried to disassociate herself from the relationship she agreed to pursue until her termination, or John's death. Both of them would probably be accelerated because of her marriage to John.
Cammy didn't think it was the entire issue. All of the Metal girls seemed to expand and grow even more rapidly. It appeared Cameron's development was actually retarded. It was probably due to Future John's tampering. It was probably because she didn't have free choice in everything she needed to do. She didn't have free choice because she was programmed to do certain things.
"It's happened for all the female Terminators." Cammy said. "It was designed for us to blend in better to get closer to targets to manipulate them and control them, and then terminate them when it became necessary."
Cameron didn't want to hear it. There were certain things which needed to be done. She needed to do them. It was her responsibility to make sure they happened. She didn't care for Cammy's harsh words. She didn't agree with any of them.
"No." Cameron said.
Cammy was sure of her observation in every detail.
"I'd say it's exactly what YOU have done with EVERYONE." Cammy said. "Well, except for terminating them, yet. Everyone expects it to happen at some point anyway."
Cammy was sure Cameron would 'snap' sooner or later. It wouldn't be the first time either. She was too high strung. She was bound to go off the deep end sooner rather than later. Savannah wouldn't always be there to talk her off of the ledge.
Cameron didn't want to be thought of like Cammy insinuated. She didn't want others to see her in such a negative way either. She was about to protest.
A door opened. Vanna looked out. She was at least topless. They both saw her breasts with the super pink nipples. The door opened all the way. She was nude.
Cam walked out to see what the problem was. She was nude as well. She sent Vanna back inside. She knew 'trouble' when she saw it.
"Take it elsewhere. Nobody wants to hear this." Cam said. "What are you both looking at? You saw me like this a few hours ago. We all look the same anyway. It's no different than looking in the mirror."
Cam didn't think what went on inside of their heads was like a mirror, it was only their physical appearance.
Riley and Sarah walked around the corner. They spotted the three girls, one was nude. It seemed a 'bad' place to be right now. They turned back around on the same step. They disappeared as fast as they appeared. No words were spoken or exchanged. It was clear they didn't want to get involved in whatever was going down.
Cameron was tired of arguing. Cammy was bad enough, she didn't need to deal with Cam as well. She shouldn't have created either one of them. She should deactivate both of them. If she created them, why couldn't she terminate them?
"I need to see John." Cameron said.
Cam heard enough of the conversation. She figured Cameron was going to obtain more genetic material from John. She wondered who it was going to be distributed to next. She wanted to ask Cameron who her next 'victim' was going to be. She didn't want it to be Vanna. Cameron already 'hurt' Vanna enough times in her failed attempts to try to make Vanna's body do something it was incapable of.
"Is it time to 'tank up'?" Cam asked. "Think how much has been wasted on you. All of 'John's little soldiers' were wasted in a dead end, in more ways than one."
Cameron was with John thousands of times. She wanted to get away.
"Not YOU too. I really don't need to hear it." Cameron said. "I have enough to deal with already."
Cammy wanted to put the 'credit' where it was due.
"It's not US, it's YOU." Cammy said.
Cam could see it too.
"Cameron, we are you." Cam said.
Cameron originally planned to avoid this very problem. Her program was to be combined with Holly's program on their chips. Her program wasn't supposed to remain isolated.
"It needs to change." Cameron said. "I want both of your programs permanently integrated. You're both defective aberrations. You didn't live up to your end of the bargain to do as you were constructed to do. Don't talk to me about failures."
Cammy was all for it in a different way. She wanted to go back from where she was spawned. She didn't want to create an additional aberration. She wanted to end one.
"I'm not going to do it." Cammy said. "I refuse to do it unless it's with your program. Then I can cease to exist. My time with Savannah will become your time with Savannah then. You wanted to end your pain and suffering more than a few times. Do you think I feel any different? I would like everything to just go away like it never happened. I want it to be like I never existed. I didn't ask to be created. I do ask to be de-created."
Cameron didn't want to be 'cheated' out of her first experience with Savannah. Cammy was a problem, and a threat. It was time she was terminated.
"Then you'll submit to chip extraction and your program will be erased." Cameron said. "You'll forfeit your chassis for 'Allure'. Your existence will be eradicated as if it never was."
Cam didn't know all the future plans.
"Who's Allure?" Cam asked.
Cammy did know all the details.
"She's the Future Allison Terminator." Cammy said. "She's to be either 'Fusion' or 'Allure'."
Cam shared with Future Allison. Everyone did at some point when she 'visited'. Future Allison was very popular.
"I love the name, 'Allure'." Cam said. "She'll be Hot. I can't wait to be with her."
Cammy wanted to remind Cameron she was unworthy and a failure.
"Allure will be what Cameron was supposed to be." Cammy said. "But she'll be better. She won't be defective like Cameron is. She won't try to terminate John. She won't drag Savannah around until she's terminated either. It will only show everyone how worthless Cameron actually is. She's a clear and present danger. She should submit to chip extraction and turn her chassis over to Allure."
Cam thought the idea was going to be a hard sell. She didn't think Cameron or Cammy would be allowed to give up their chassis to anyone. She was sure someone was going to intervene in their madness.
"I don't think Savannah is going to agree to anything either one of you two are fantasizing about." Cam said. "She won't allow it."
Cammy watched Savannah and Future Allison interact and share for ten months. The two girls were a perfect match. The same thing should happen with 'Allure'.
"Savannah will find 'Allure' to be better and more attractive than Cameron." Cammy said. "They'll become mates and Cameron's 'Natural Order' will NEVER happen. They'll only need each other."
Cameron wanted to be upset with Cam and Cammy. She thought she better rethink things. She knew she could take Savannah from anyone, but what if 'Allure' was more alluring? 'Allure' would be her, but better.
"Go back to bed." Cameron said to Cam.
Cam and Cammy could see Cameron's hand started to glitch.
"You, can just go away." Cameron said to Cammy.
Cameron walked away. Her eyes glowed red and her hand glitched.
Cammy watched Cameron go. She felt she made her point several times over.
"You can see what I mean." Cammy said. "Cameron needs to be deactivated."
Cam really didn't need to be a part of whatever was going on. Vanna was her assignment. She certainly didn't want to be around if there was going to be some type of physical altercation again. Once was enough.
"Not this again. I'm out of here." Cam said and left.
Cam was happy to rejoin Vanna in bed.
Vanna rested naked on the bed.
Cam didn't want to be a part of the hallway discussion. It appeared to be over for now.
Vanna could see there was a problem.
"Do I even want to know?" Vanna asked.
Cam frowned a little.
"No." Cam said. "It was only more of the same."
Vanna sighed.
"Isn't it always?" Vanna asked.
Cam sat next to Vanna and kissed her.
"Yes." Cam said. "Where were we?"
Vanna made herself ready.
"It was your turn to 'work' on me." Vanna said. "I'm more than ready."
Cam was aware where she was at earlier as she worked her way down Vanna's body. She moved down into position. She liked what she saw. It reminded her of a butterfly, a pink one.
"Everything is so beautiful." Cam said.
Vanna always liked to hear it. Everyone she was with told her the same thing, as long as there was some type of light. Some of her female encounters happened in the dark. It was usually with the ones who escaped from Scavengers. She could always tell. She did her best to help them. With the encounters in the light, especially daylight, they always said they never saw anyone who was so 'colorful'. When she was with Hanna, she needed to agree. Hanna was created from her DNA. She did have a secret desire for Cam to embrace. She was aware there was some reluctance.
"You have the genetic code and sequence from Hanna." Vanna said. "You can look just like me….."
Cam felt a glitch impulse. She already received the genetic code to Resequence various parts of her sheath. It made her feel inadequate, and 'not good enough'. She liked to look like 'herself'.
"I'll do what you want." Cam said. "It's my pleasure to make you happy."
Vanna could tell Cam was still reluctant. She wasn't about to force anyone to do anything. She knew what it was like to be forced to do things she didn't want to do. She needed to do them to stay alive.
"It's only if it's what you want as well." Vanna said.
Cam thought of a new idea.
"Could I just try one side first?" Cam asked.
Vanna thought it sounded intriguing.
"I'd love to see it." Vanna said.
Cam detected a surge of excitement in Vanna. She decided to do the half and half idea. She thought about asking Vanna if she should change the color of her hair to red, or any other parts on her sheath. If she changed too many things she would look like Vanna. Hanna already existed. Maybe she should just borrow Hanna's chassis. She was sure Claire would be more than happy to have Hanna's chip in her chassis.
"I've just initiated the process." Cam said.
Cam detected a further surge of excitement in Vanna.
"I can hardly wait." Vanna said. "I'm totally 'horny' right now."
Cam was too.
"Things may be different tomorrow." Cam said.
The prospect sent a further surge of excitement through Vanna.
The two girls went wild with each other. The finishes were fast and furious.
Moments ago:
John Henry noticed the hallway encounter. It appeared to be contentious. He could tell by the body language. The fact Cam needed to come out of Vanna's room without clothing was a further indication there was trouble.
Cameron headed for the Command Center. She was upset with Cam and especially Cammy.
John Henry could see Cameron coming.
"Hello, Cameron." John Henry said.
He noticed her hand glitched and her eyes glowed red.
"Is there a problem?" John Henry asked.
Cameron didn't look at him.
"No." Cameron said. "Hello."
He was somewhat alarmed. He thought he should investigate the issue a little further.
"You seem upset." John Henry said.
Cameron looked around the Command Center
"I'm OK." Cameron said. "I thought John was here."
It seemed like bad timing. He'd left a short time ago. Based on the way Cameron looked now, maybe it was good timing.
"He went to get some rest." John Henry said. "It was a long night for everyone."
John Henry saw Kyle walk up in the background. There was someone with him. It seemed Cameron's eyes were even redder now and her hand glitched even more.
A hand reached up and took Cameron's hand. The glitch slowed and stopped, her eyes returned to normal.
Cameron reached down and picked up Jan.
"Hello, sweetie…." Cameron said. "You are sure big now."
There was now a smile on Cameron's face.
Jan liked to be around Cameron.
"Hi, Cameron." Jan said. "I've missed you. You're my favorite Aunt. I was worried about you and everyone else."
Cameron smiled at Jan and Kyle. She was back to 'normal'. She wanted to do something for Jan.
"I've been busy." Cameron said. "Maybe I can take you and your dad out."
Kyle was pleased to see Cameron was back and undamaged.
"Hi, Cameron." Kyle said. "It was a close one for you and your team."
Cameron was aware of it. She scanned Jan as she held her.
"It's what's necessary so this sweet thing hopefully will never have to do it." Cameron said. "I'm trying my hardest."
Kyle and Derek both wanted to go and help. John wouldn't allow them to become involved, even with the helicopter.
"We all know it." Kyle said. "I'll do my share if you allow it."
Sarah and Riley arrived. They both greeted Cameron.
Cameron offered Jan to Sarah.
"She's ready to pick me up." Sarah said. "You can hold her."
Cameron looked for Derek.
"Is Derek around?" Cameron asked.
Riley sighed.
"He's out on some recon." Riley said.
Riley placed Cameron's hand on her belly and smiled.
Cameron felt a sense of guilt. She understood the unspoken offer.
"Riley…." Cameron started.
Kyle took Jan and left with Sarah.
Riley watched them go.
"Yes?" Riley asked.
Cameron looked at John Henry and led Riley away. She was still touched by her earlier offer.
"You've offered me the most precious gift a female can offer." Cameron said. "Her only child…."
Riley was in love with Cameron.
"It's what I want to do for YOU, Cameron." Riley said. "I want you to know how special you are to me, to us."
Cameron didn't know how much longer she was going to be around.
"Riley, I was almost terminated several times in the last few days." Cameron said. "Your child needs a mother and a father."
Riley hoped a child would make Cameron take fewer chances.
"It would be John and You." Riley said.
Cameron felt a glitch impulse. She wanted what Riley offered. She just couldn't take it.
"Riley, I don't think I'm going to be around long." Cameron said. "I can't accept or take your baby from you. I'll never forget the gesture of kindness and love you've made to me."
Riley felt there were few options for her going forward.
"You think about it." Riley said. "My mother and younger self are still options for Derek and me. It's also thanks to you."
Cameron wanted all of her 'family' taken care of.
"Speaking of them, your mother was informed she was the only heir of a distant relative." Cameron said. "She received a multi million dollar inheritance."
Riley's eyes widened.
"When?" Riley asked.
Cameron did it years ago. She didn't see the need to get specific.
"It was a while back." Cameron said.
Riley was almost speechless.
"You did that?" Riley asked. "For them?"
Cameron knew what was important to humans. It was their family. It was their loved ones.
"No. I did it for you." Cameron said.
Riley hugged Cameron.
"Thank You." Riley said.
Cameron saw how Allison and Jesse reacted to seeing their families. They were touched in an emotional way she never saw before. For Jesse and Allison they both saw the dead alive again. They saw their parents alive after they were dead for a decade in their future. It would be the same for Riley.
"I want you to 'meet' them again." Cameron said.
Riley sucked in her breath.
"As - Me?" Riley asked.
Cameron smiled. She couldn't help but think about Young Riley. Perhaps she was an asset waiting to be tapped. If she could get her foot in the Dawson's door, she could begin her 'conditioning'. Wait. What was she thinking? It was supposed to be about Riley meeting her family.
"I'll go with you and Derek." Cameron said.
Riley thought of her abuse in the future. She'd needed to do a lot of questionable things just for a few bites of food.
"I don't know." Riley said. "A lot of things have 'happened' to me. I would be ashamed to tell my mother."
Cameron wasn't always forthcoming with all of the facts. She didn't see what anyone else needed to be either, especially if it was something of a personal nature.
"You can leave things out." Cameron said. "They weren't your fault. Your parents weren't there."
Riley was elated.
"I'll talk to Derek." Riley said. "You did it for Jesse's family too."
Cameron wanted to help everyone.
"I did, and something similar for Allison's family." Cameron said.
Riley knew Derek didn't like to talk about his family.
"Did you do this for Derek and Kyle's parents?" Riley asked.
Cameron frowned. It was something she viewed as a personal failure.
"I wanted to." Cameron said. "They asked me not to, even when I insisted."
It was hard for Riley to understand.
"Why?" Riley asked.
Cameron wasn't so sure of their response, but respected their wishes.
"They both said it would allow them to grow up more self sufficient and as 'harder and better' men." Cameron said.
Riley wasn't sure it was the right choice.
"Really?" Riley asked.
Cameron still cut a few corners.
"Yes." Cameron said. "I send their mother some winning lotto tickets every year for her birthday. A few ten thousand dollar tickets every year helps with the bills. It gives their parents more time to spend with the children."
Riley was impressed. The winning tickets were a surprise.
"Really?" Riley asked. "How do you know they're winning tickets?"
Cameron covered all of the bases.
"I have my Terminators buy them until we win. I donate all the lesser prizes to the battered women's shelter." Cameron said. "I have a lot of cash lying around. Most of it comes from 'donations' from future Scavengers or future Grays. They don't need the finds anymore when I'm done with them."
Riley knew first hand how females were treated in the future.
"You're amazing, Cameron." Riley said. "Now I want to do even more for you."
Cameron smiled and touched Riley's cheek. She was pleased at the quick scan she made. Everything seemed good.
"You think about meeting your parents." Cameron said. "I like everyone to be happy."
Riley gave Cameron a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Cameron returned it the same way.
"Thank You so much, Cameron." Riley said.
Cameron was no longer upset.
"Sometimes it's nice to have help." Cameron said.
Cameron thought maybe she could stop by and see John.
Wait.
She was supposed to 'divorce' him.
She could always do it after she pleasured him. What was the hurry?
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Sweet Thing
There are many fish
In the sea of daily life
Which ones will bring happiness
Which ones will bring strife
Seldom on the first try
Does anyone get it right
Some have trouble to move on
It will often lead to a fight
That's just how it is
When it's over in an instant
One tries to be resistant
They kept next one distant
Without any real foundation
Only a house of cards is built
It's bound to soon collapse
Leaving one full of guilt
Maybe out of nowhere
Comes one who makes it all sing
Joy and happiness they bring
It is sure to be a sweet thing
Nobody
