Chapter 647
Stalked
Allison was always excited to see Vanna up close. What she now looked at always reminded her of a butterfly, a very pink one. She never really saw anything else like it, except for Savannah and Hanna, but they all shared the same DNA.
Vanna looked down at Allison. She waited with anticipation for her to get started. She was aware everyone liked to look at her down there. It was because she looked like she did which probably saved her a lot of grief. Some of the men who held her captive at times all seemed to like it too, even to the point of not mutilating her as happened to the other girls.
Her head was soon pushed back into the pillow as Allison started. There was really no one else she would prefer to share with more. She went along for the ride and was rewarded multiple times. Allison was her true love.
It was different than it was with a Metal girl. They could always get the job done. They could do it very fast too. With Allison it was more than just the physical aspect. It was the love which radiated off of her. She desired it more than anything.
Allison was pleased at how she was able to satisfy Vanna. Vanna was her first and still remained her favorite. She was with dozens of females in the future and in the present. Vanna was still her most desired person to be with. Vanna was her true love.
She was just glad they didn't need to fight for their lives anymore like they needed to in the past, the future. Maybe it allowed things to grow a little more slack than they should have, because the level of survival wasn't forefront anymore. She was sure the easy life is what allowed distance to grow between them. When a person never knew if they were going to be alive the next day, or even the next hour, life was lived very differently. Everything needed to happen in the moment. There was no time to make plans for what would happen going forward. Nobody believed they would survive very long no matter what happened.
In the past, the present, there was always tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day. It changed the perspective of everything. She knew it was for the better as far as survival went. She wasn't so sure about personal relationships. Maybe when people started to plan things, is when they would go wrong. It was different when things just happened.
Claire saw the current situation as her opportunity to be with Cam. She knew Cam was a version of Cameron. The whole concept of having a clone was still hard to wrap her head around. It was something out of movies and books for years. It was actually future technology, which was brought into the past, with other future technology, which allowed time travel.
Cam knew what Claire wanted. It was something everybody wanted at some point in time. Strangely enough, she didn't feel it took away her individuality as 'Cam' to do it. She was willing to play along. It wasn't too hard to do.
During the recent incident at the mine when there was the possibility of both Cameron and Cammy being terminated, it would have fallen on her to become 'Cameron Prime'. Her existence as 'Cam' would have been no more. Most likely her chip would have been removed from her chassis and Cameron's spare chip placed in it. She would have preferred to update from Cameron's spare chip onto her chip so her time with Vanna wouldn't be lost.
She remembered after the rebar hit something metallic with a loud 'clang', she thought her survival might continue. When she heard the five gunshots fired in 'Cameron's pattern', she didn't think her existence would end. It was only when she heard the four gunshots, fired four seconds apart, when she could feel total relief. It meant Cameron and Cammy both survived along with Tom and Savannah. She needed to refocus her attention back on Claire.
"I really am her, you know." Cam said. "I'm Cameron's program with John's protocols replaced with Vanna's protocols."
Claire really wondered how far Cameron would go with her. There were times when Cameron indicated it would be all the way if certain events played out the way Cameron wanted them to play out. She wondered if she could get a straight answer out of Cam. She tried with Cammy and Anna before. Both of them seemed to remain somewhat elusive.
"Would Cameron ever really be with me?" Claire asked.
Cam thought the fact she was with her now was the answer to her question. 'Cameron' was with her, even if she wasn't.
"I think she would be with anybody who would have a child for John and her." Cam said.
Claire was more determined than ever to work on the prospect. She wondered if it would be seen as some type of 'trade' by Cameron. Somehow it seemed like it would be. She already 'lost' one of her daughters to Cameron and the future. She didn't want to lose her other one. What was she willing to trade to be with Cameron? She knew she would need to act before 'Her Allison' - Young Allison did. She would also need to act before Savannah did. She thought the best choice to make Cameron the happiest would be for her to do the same thing as she currently did for Allison, but with Young Allison's genetic material. Cameron would be able to have the child she desired the most.
Cam was with Claire before. It really made her wonder how Claire didn't see her as her 'daughter'. They were identical after all. She figured not all humans were hung up on outdated moral issues. She didn't think about the details as far as makeup and mannerisms went. She only thought of it as a DNA issue.
Claire never did see Cameron as being the 'same' as her daughter. The same concept included Cammy and Cam by extension. When she was with Ally, it was a little different story. It was fine with her because usually Ally and Sheila traveled together. She was sweet on Jesse. Sheila was a great stand-in. Sheila would do anything she wanted to do, or allow her to do anything to Sheila, she wanted to do. It was quite an experience. Somehow it made her desire for Jesse all the greater. Jesse didn't make it around as often as she would have liked. She was pretty sure Allison and Vanna put the brakes on it whenever they could. It was OK too. She could usually work Savannah in somewhere along the way.
John Henry tried to coordinate everything. CamNet worked with him. He wondered where the HK drone they tracked was going. It was clear it came from some other area. It didn't appear to be close by either. Even though there were two of them earlier, they seemed to want to avoid hostile action. It appeared they only wanted to do reconnaissance. None of it really made any sense.
It raised a lot of questions. There didn't seem to be any answers. At least not yet there weren't anyway. Why did the HK drones turn and run? Were they returning home or trying to lure their drones into a trap? It was a very likely scenario.
It was unknown if the HK drones were really only doing recon, or were part of the two operations they just took down. There appeared to be two groups of HK drones which were unassociated with each other at the mine. Maybe this was more of the same. It was the way it seemed at this point anyway. Perhaps time would tell. They certainly weren't going to know anything different for a time anyway.
One group definitely seemed to know more about the other. They were able to surveil them when there was a problem. Most likely it meant they were able to infiltrate the other Skynet group.
It indicated another group of Grays and Terminators. It was what they figured already anyway. It wouldn't be the first time either. As long as the different groups didn't link up into some type of coalition, they weren't worried as much. It was evident each version of Skynet would want to be its own master and not bow down to another version of Skynet.
Cammy and Savannah looked around for Cameron, or the other enemy Terminator. Neither of them was spotted. They knew Gail took down one of the Terminators. It's the area they looked at to find Cameron.
Savannah became even more concerned as more time passed.
Cammy scanned both sides and in front of them.
Savannah watched the sides as well as the rear.
Cammy also scanned for any HK drones. She stopped and went down on one knee. She motioned for Savannah to join her. She wasn't so sure they were the hunters at this point. She didn't like the way things played out so far. It was time to give Savannah some bad news.
"We might be the ones being stalked." Cammy whispered.
Savannah looked all around them. She didn't see anything out of place.
"Do you know where Cameron is at?" Savannah whispered.
Cammy felt they needed to move and move quickly.
"No." Cammy whispered. "We need to get away from here."
Savannah understood the danger but she was also worried about Cameron.
"What about Cameron?" Savannah whispered. "We can't go off and leave her. We need to know her disposition. You know I'm not going to leave without her."
Cammy could see there was no cover for them. Their safety was in jeopardy.
"We're too exposed." Cammy whispered. "I don't want to get attacked. I don't want you to be hurt, or worse."
Savannah understood the danger to them. Cameron was just as important. She would need to make her position perfectly clear to Cammy, once again.
"We're not leaving Cameron alone." Savannah whispered. "I'm not leaving here without her."
Savannah moved her Taser into her left hand. She thought Cammy and her could take the fight to the enemy Terminator.
"The Terminator didn't appear to have any weapons after the missile attack, unless he's acquired them from Cameron." Savannah whispered. "There are two of us. Let's go find him."
Cammy looked at Savannah. She knew how important this was to her. They still needed to use common sense.
"OK, we will give it two more minutes and then we're going to withdraw." Cammy whispered.
Savannah would deal with the timeline at the end of the two minutes if they hadn't found Cameron yet. She didn't plan on leaving Cameron behind or alone. She wondered what damage Gail received in the attack which happened to her. It could be worse than they thought. Savannah knew Gail would stay with them, even if the manned drone, or she herself was damaged and needed repair.
She knew they would all stay for her. It didn't make her feel comfortable thinking of it. Everyone mattered, not just her. Right now Cameron mattered most of all. They weren't leaving without her.
"I'm not leaving without Cameron." Savannah whispered again.
The surviving white van fled the area. They left their associates behind to their fate. They made a run for it. It seemed typical of most of the Gray's behavior. They wanted the 'good life' Skynet offered but didn't care much about their fellow Grays. The past offered them a much larger selection of everything. Serving Skynet was no longer a priority. It was more of a hassle or obligation than it was in the past, the future. They just didn't have the same perks as they did previously.
John Henry tracked the van for John's team.
John hoped John Henry could give them a better overview. Even though the van took a few turns here and there, it still seemed to be going in one direction.
"Can you tell where they're headed?" John asked.
It was too early for John Henry to make any determination. He could only give them positional information. The drone stayed with them.
"No." John Henry said. "You're one half mile behind them."
John was worried some of the Grays might try to bail out and make a run for it on foot.
"Has anyone gotten out of the van?" John asked.
John Henry put his own jamming field into effect.
"No." John Henry said. "I have all communications blocked. They can't contact anyone."
John was ready to divide his force to make sure any fleeing in Grays didn't get away.
"If anyone gets out, I need to know right away." John said. "I don't want any of them to get away."
John Henry watched the van make a series of turns. He wasn't sure if they attempted to check for a tail or not. It was possible the driver was unfamiliar with the area.
"They've made several turns." John Henry said.
John wondered if they were headed back to where they left from to check on their compatriots. He didn't want them to show up at the location which was currently being checked and stripped of anything Skynet related.
"Are they doubling back?" John asked.
John Henry was sure of the general direction they were going, even if it wasn't very direct.
"No, I believe they're headed for where Cameron's at." John Henry said. "They have no way of knowing what's happened there. I have everything blocked. They think they're headed toward safety, they're not."
John didn't think he would want them to reach the location and pose a bigger threat to Cameron and her team. He hadn't heard any updates about Cameron's team. He was worried about them.
"What's happening there?" John asked. "Do you have anything new? There must be something."
John Henry was able to get one of their drones into position outside the perimeter where Cameron's team was at.
"I have one drone flying outside the jamming field." John Henry said. "It shows the manned drone was attacked, but avoided major damage. Gail just made a ground attack with the minigun. It must have been very urgent for her to re-enter the danger zone. There was obviously a clear and present danger to our team on the ground. There was no follow up attack on the manned drone as she gained altitude away from the location."
John wasn't sure if Gail attacked whoever fired on her, or helped Cameron's team. It sounded serious.
"It can't be good." John said. "Cameron's team must be pinned down."
John Henry watched Gail climb away from the position she attacked. She remained close by to lend further assistance. It seemed as if she was prepared to initiate another ground attack if it became necessary. Somehow it seems more likely than not.
"Gail has climbed back to altitude, but hasn't exited the jamming field." John Henry said.
John took the information as an indication of further danger to Cameron's team. There was only one way to 'read it'.
"It means she's preparing to make another strafing run instead of trying to communicate." John said. "It has to be bad news for those on the ground. It will put her back in the danger zone again, even if she's already damaged."
John wasn't sure if Cameron's team was being attacked, or about to be overrun.
John Henry received some new information which she hoped would be viewed as good news.
"CamNet reports four of Cameron's Terminators have arrived on station now. They're about to enter the combat area." John Henry said. "They're all heavily armed and highly motivated. They know who's on the ground and may need assistance."
John wanted as much help on the ground as possible.
"We need to send some of our troops there." John said. "I want more Terminators to help them."
John Henry was updated by CamNet. It appeared they just gained an advantage over the van full of Grays.
"CamNet has directed all Resistance Terminators to back you up." John Henry said. "Frank and Mel are in front of the van now. Do you want it stopped?"
John was ready for some action. He didn't want any more opposition at the location where Cameron is at. Now was there a chance to make sure it didn't happen.
"I do want it stopped. We're moving up on it." John said. "I've told Jim to close up. As soon as Frank and Mel see us coming, have them initiate the stop."
John Henry relayed the message. Everybody was soon in position.
"They see you approaching behind the van in the distance. They're about to stop it." John Henry said.
John could see Jim closed up the distance between them and the van.
"We will be there in thirty seconds." John said. "It's a go."
John Henry watched the events unfold from the drone footage.
"They're engaging." John Henry said.
Cameron tried to reacquire the Terminator she was stalking. The attack on the one who stalked her allowed him to slip away. She was still away from where Cammy and Savannah were and she hoped to keep it the same way. She would try to draw attention herself if she thought he was too close to Cammy and Savannah.
She spotted some movement headed back towards the burning compound. It seemed unlikely there was more help coming for the Terminator. It could be he was trying to evade her.
There was some movement behind her. She hoped it was Cammy and Savannah.
As Jim closed on the van. John saw a dark SUV turn in front of it. The act caused the white van to swerve sideways to avoid a collision.
Jim's SUV screeched to a halt behind it seconds later. The white van was boxed in. Jim and Ally were out in a flash. John remained on the far side of the SUV as Bob and Sheila arrived moments later. Bob hurried past him as Sheila joined him.
Sheila liked to play things up.
"Fancy meeting you here, love." Sheila said. "I haven't heard any shooting yet."
Sheila was armed with an M249.
There were some thrashing sounds and bending metal noises.
Sheila scanned all around them for threats. John held his M4 ready.
There were a few muted screams and then silence.
Bob returned to where John was at.
"We have four targets down." Bob said. "All of them are terminated."
Sheila looked more than a little disappointed.
"I told you to save me a couple of 'playthings'." Sheila said. "I could have found out everything they know. They all have a lot to say when I'm around."
Bob glanced at John. He knew John didn't approve of Sheila's tactics on a Resistance operation. He wanted to point out beating someone to death for answers wasn't much different. It was really only torture of a different type. The end result was the same. It wasn't sexual torture, at least not like Sheila practiced. He went on a few of Cameron's off the books operations. He didn't disapprove of what she did to some of the individuals involved in the human sex trade. He felt they deserved it based upon some of the things he witnessed. It was a different chapter.
"There were no survivors." Bob said
John hadn't heard any Taser fire.
"Were there any Terminators?" John asked.
The rest of the team was in the process to make a final determination.
"They're checking the van now." Bob said. "Negative…."
John and Sheila moved up. Sheila covered the area with the M249.
"You didn't take any prisoners?" John asked.
Bob shrugged his shoulders.
"None wanted to talk." Bob said.
John knew why they were all dead. He'd told Bob before he didn't want people tortured.
They searched the van for any tracking devices and found none. The men were searched and their phones deactivated. The phones would be checked over later at a secure location along with a laptop they found.
John looked at the boxes in the back of the van.
"I can't identify these electronic devices." John said as he looked at some. "They look like…."
Bob knew exactly what the components were. He knew what they could be used for.
"They are what you think." Bob said. "Someone's trying to build a Terminator assembly line. We need to find out where."
John was aware if Skynet set up an assembly line for Terminators in the present, they would soon have an enemy force they would be unable to battle. There would simply be too many Terminators. Skynet would no longer need to rely on Grays who seemed to be somewhat unreliable anyway. Cameron told him why Grays in the past, the present, were so unreliable as compared to those from the future. They didn't need Skynet in the present to have a good life.
"If it happens, we're screwed." John said. "Maybe it's what's happening where Cameron is at."
Ally joined John.
"It's what we're trying to prevent." Ally said.
Sheila wanted to say she wasn't trying to 'prevent being screwed'. It didn't seem like the right time. She knew John could be a little high strung at times. He wasn't as bad as Cameron was. She was 'L7' all the way.
John sometimes wondered if they were making enough progress. Cameron did a lot on her own to prevent Skynet from getting too far ahead of them. He understood her actions, even if he disapproved of the risks she took. It was still too big of a burden for one individual. He really didn't know what would happen.
"Are we staying ahead of it?" John asked. "Can we prevent it?"
Bob knew Judgment Day hadn't happened yet. They did enough to prevent it from happening.
"We have so far." Bob said.
John was ready to move on. They appeared to be done with the group they just took down.
"Clean up here." John said. "Take the van, Mel can drive it."
Sheila wanted to stay close to John. She figured where they were headed next.
"Ally and I are going to ride with you, John." Sheila said.
John smiled to himself.
"So you know where we're going then." John said.
Ally arched her back to make her breasts more prominent.
"To find a couple of Tight cyborgs who look like me." Ally said.
Sheila saw them as the 'cake'. She liked the 'icing'.
"Don't forget one smoking Hot redheaded beauty." Sheila added.
Ally and Sheila 'high fived' each other over her comment, Savannah was desired by all.
John figured they were luckier than he was with Savannah. Then again, he did get pretty close one time. He was one second away from what he wanted.
"Let's roll." John said.
He sure hoped Savannah was all right. He really wanted her virginity. He would be her first male anyway.
Cammy indicated someone was ahead of them. Savannah continued to check their surroundings. It could be Cameron or the hostile Terminator.
Savannah pointed in the distance. Cammy saw some movement closer to the compound. They both knew there were two 'contacts'. One was almost in front of them and one was in the distance. She didn't want to take any chances. She didn't want a 'friendly' fire incident.
"Yellow.…" Savannah whispered.
"Cat…." Was the reply which came back. It was Cameron.
Cameron appeared off to their side. It wasn't where they heard the noise. It was clear she wanted them to look the wrong way, especially if they would have been the enemy. She joined up with them.
"The Terminator is headed back to the compound." Cameron said.
Savannah wondered what for.
"Do you think it's to get weapons?" Savannah asked.
Cammy was worried it could be something more sinister.
"Or he plans to do something." Cammy said. "We don't know what they were up to inside the building. All we know is they were up to no good."
Cameron figured it was something sinister as well. Whatever it was, it wouldn't be anything good. Not for them anyway.
"It's what I think." Cameron said. "Let's go."
Savannah couldn't help but think about what one version of Skynet, in some future, tried to do. It was wired to a 'Doomsday Bomb', a nuclear warhead. Luckily Cameron found it and deactivated it before they confronted the version of Skynet there.
The three girls took off. Cameron led the trio. Savannah was in the middle and Cammy brought up the rear.
Cameron moved rapidly. She wanted to intercept the Terminator before he did anything. She hoped Gail would return if she saw they were in trouble.
She was aware there was at least one drone circling them, always staying off to the side. She figured it was one of theirs trying to see and transmit what was happening. They'd needed to use the same tactic more than once.
As they got closer, there was gunfire.
There were four figures moving around the compound finishing off any survivors.
Cameron could see Savannah was somewhat alarmed.
"Those are some of my Terminators." Cameron said. "They must have entered from the front side. There will probably be more of them."
Savannah thought it was good news.
"Then we have the enemy Terminator trapped between our forces." Savannah said.
Cammy lost track of where he went. She didn't want him to pop up in front of them.
"Where did he go?" Cammy asked.
Cameron was able to keep sight of him.
"He went over to where the APC was at." Cameron said. "It's in bad shape."
They moved closer to the destroyed M113 inside the compound. It was near a shed of some kind. The APC was a total wreck. Much of it was melted.
Savannah didn't expect to see the APC in such poor condition.
"What happened to it?" Savannah asked. "It's melted."
Cameron was aware of what it was constructed of.
"It was mostly aluminum." Cameron said. "The armor is really only effective against small arms."
There was a half burnt skeleton sticking out of the melted metal. The metal cooled around the protruding skeleton.
"He's over there." Cammy said as she fired her M4.
Savannah quickly refocused.
"I see him." Savannah said.
Cameron stood and signaled her Terminators. They knew where they were at now.
Cammy scored some hits on the Terminator. He appeared to drop something.
"I hit him." Cammy said.
He disappeared inside of a small building.
"He went into the shed." Cameron said.
The trio of females moved forward.
There was a partial sheath covered metal arm on the ground.
"He's missing an arm now." Savannah said. "You must've blown it off."
Cammy figured it was probably already mostly blown off from the missile attack. Her rounds found what little metal kept it attached to the rest of him.
Cameron signaled for Cammy and Savannah to fire into the shed on her command. The thin metal walls wouldn't even slow the Coltan rounds down.
Cameron moved around the shed to the side with the door.
Cammy and Savannah both fired on Cameron signal.
As soon as the last round was fired, Cameron kicked in the door….
It was Showtime.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Stalked
One starts out happy
With the one they choose
Time will only tell
If they will win or lose
Maybe everything runs smooth
At least for a short while
How long it will actually last
Depends on what they defile
One always wants more
At some point in time
It seems to be the catalyst
Of what feels like a crime
Why can't one be happy
With what's been created
Why have the ones that mated
Somehow turned into the hated
When it all falls apart
The other has balked
They acquire a deadly shadow
As they are now stalked
Nobody
