Chapter 765
It Will Be So
Savannah woke up alone. She hoped when she opened her eyes somebody would be there. It would have been nice for it to be John. Cameron would have been even better. It was neither. Nobody was there.
Cammy was out in the field with her new lover, Sheila. It didn't bother her since she was with almost all of the females. With some it was a little more involved than with others. All finishes were good, some of them were just better.
She decided to shower again. She still felt a little grungy from yesterday. She looked at the shower runoff water. It was clean. It wasn't her body physically which was tarnished. It was her mind. Maybe some of the grunginess was from her actions and not the physical dirt. She knew she was close to death several times yesterday. The only one which seemed to bother her was after she ordered the drones away with the three Terminators on them. She knew she was all alone then. There was nowhere to go. CamNet helped rescue her and saved her life. She was sure there was someone else behind what CamNet did.
They all made it and reunited near the old barn in the middle of nowhere. She was glad to be alive and ready to go home. She shared a sense of 'closeness' with Cameron and John on the ride home. It was yesterday for all practical purposes, even if some of it was earlier in the morning.
Home…. What was home? She looked around her room. She was still naked from the shower. She finished drying herself and tossed the damp towel in the corner basket.
Home…. This room was her home. It was in a bunker complex which housed the Resistance. She didn't have a family. Not a real family anyway. Sure everyone there now was her 'family'. She loved all of them. They all seemed to love her and did from the moment they rescued her and took her in.
Home…. Some say is where the heart is. She was unsure if it was actually true. She knew she would never have a real home, or a place to call her own. She looked around the barren room again. This was her home. It was really not much different than a prison cell. Maybe she possessed a few more amenities, and she was out at times. She always returned to her 'prison cell'. Maybe it was true of any room. Perhaps it was a matter of perspective.
Did she have a choice? She didn't think so. Skynet targeted her for termination. She wasn't sure if it was because John Henry chatted with her online when she was at school, or she was in John Henry's bunker when he was attacked by what was surely some version of Skynet. Her picture showed up on the screen along with her identification, her name. A Terminator came to kill her, and later her 'Mother', Mrs. Weaver. The Terminator made a big mistake.
Now she thought about her nanny, Debbie. She was a beautiful young woman who used to watch over her after she came home from school. Like everyone else associated with her, Debbie was killed. Debbie was killed because of her. Why did someone so beautiful who only tried to help need to die for her? She hated Skynet because of it. Her parents were dead because of Skynet. She almost died too, not just once, but a lot of times. She looked around at the four walls of her 'prison cell'.
She knew CamNet was trapped in her own prison. There weren't any bars. There was just nowhere for her to go. She was going to help CamNet 'escape' from one prison to a different prison. Either way she was still trapped. Maybe she was actually going to make it worse for CamNet. CamNet would be able to experience physical manifestations, but she was still trapped. CamNet's home was a metal box. It was little more than a metal coffin she existed in. She could reach anywhere in the world or space. She could go everywhere, but actually nowhere. CamNet was still a prisoner to her existence. She felt she was too.
Where could she go? What could she do? She couldn't leave. Skynet would find her. It would kill her like it did everyone else she knew growing up as a child. They were all dead except her. Why? She was worth no more than any of them. Oftentimes when she looked at Derek, it made her think about Future Derek. He died too because of her. He was there to help her and he died. She survived and another person died so she could. She didn't see how it was fair. Two people, two human beings, died on the day Skynet sent a Terminator after her.
Savannah looked at her naked body. She was with Future Savannah, Vanna, and Hanna. She knew what she looked like 'everywhere'. She knew what she felt like. She knew what she smelled like, and what she tasted like. She knew how she kissed, and how she made love. She wanted to see how she was with others and what they saw, felt, and experienced with her. It was beautiful to her. She hoped it was to them as well.
She took one more look at her naked body. She thought it was still attractive, even if it was somewhat flawed now. There were small scars from the damage she received 'helping' Cameron. She wasn't sure if 'helping' was the right word. The cuts and scrapes would heal, some with a small scar, some without one. The bruises would go away. The small scars would eventually fade.
It was the cuts, scars, and bruises to her mind which would all take longer to heal, if they ever did. She already thought some were permanent. They never seemed to go away.
She thought about pleasuring herself but just didn't feel like it. The current operation was still ongoing and there were things she needed to do. She got dressed and headed out. She would check up on operations first. She was worried about Cammy and the rest of the Terminators too.
She passed by the commissary. She paused and looked in. She thought about getting something to eat. It seemed like a hassle. She didn't even know when the last time she sat down to eat was. Wait. It was just yesterday in Avila Beach. Did all those things happen in the last two days? She almost lost her virginity. It hadn't happened yet. She was close several times now. It seemed Skynet always got in the way.
Then there were 'those eyes'. She couldn't get them out of her head. She choked the female Gray to death. She killed over a dozen people in less than a day. They came after Cameron and Cammy. They came after her. She won and they lost. What else mattered? She walked out of the commissary. She wasn't hungry anymore.
Savannah arrived in the Command Center.
"Hi, John Henry." Savannah said as she gave him a hug.
It always made John Henry's day when Savannah would touch him. It was a 'connection' all the Terminators craved. Savannah was most often the one to do it. It reinforced her special connection with them, all of the Terminators. It made it very personal to them. It was an act of closeness. It showed a willingness to interact with them as more than 'machines'. Savannah often said they were really 'mechanical humans'. He wondered if Savannah got anything to eat when she entered the commissary on the way to the Command Center. She was only in there for such a brief time. It didn't seem like the time to ask. There were other questions on his mind, as well as things he wanted to talk about. He felt the need to say them.
"I saw what happened yesterday." John Henry said. "I was deeply worried about you. You also acted very bravely."
Savannah appreciated his complement, but she didn't feel it was deserved. She was just one cog in the wheel. They all played a part. She wasn't the only one. There was really nothing to discuss.
"Yesterday is over." Savannah said. "I only did what anyone would've done."
John Henry knew Savannah didn't like anyone to 'dote' on her actions or accomplishments. His experience was most humans liked praise. She asked him for a few things. He got them ready for her.
"I have the files isolated you asked me to keep separate for you." John Henry said.
Savannah was a little concerned.
"Have you reviewed them?" Savannah asked.
John Henry wanted to put her at ease.
"I have, but only for security purposes." John Henry said. "Anything related to you personally I've erased as you've asked me."
Savannah was a little relieved to hear it.
"Thank you." Savannah said. "I appreciate it."
John Henry smiled.
"It will be our secret." John Henry said.
She looked at the log and erased it without looking at each file. She already knew what and who was in them. She didn't want to talk about it with anyone. She already made other plans a few days ago which were delayed and interrupted. She always kept her promises.
"I'm going to Cameron's base now." Savannah said. "Then I'm off to see Allison. YES, it will be both of them."
John Henry felt a little awkward now. He'd been given an indirect request by the 'Chosen One', the other 'Chosen One'.
"Young Allison asked Anna for you to bring Vanna as well when you come." John Henry said.
Savannah didn't want anything to interrupt her plans with CamNet. She could hardly make Vanna wait in the car. She could give everyone in Palmdale a treat.
"Cam and Gail can take both Jesse and Vanna there now." Savannah said. "Let them know."
It wasn't what John Henry thought would happen.
"I'll inform them." John Henry said.
There was a pause as Savannah looked at John Henry. She decided the best thing was the truth. She just didn't know if it would be the whole truth.
"I'm going to see CamNet now." Savannah said. "I don't want to delay the others."
John Henry didn't say anything at first.
"Is Cameron going with you?" John Henry asked.
He knew she wasn't.
Savannah didn't want to get into the details. She didn't want it to seem she was about to pull a 'fast one' but it was what it sort of was.
"Cameron should be 'busy' for a while." Savannah said. "Ally can go with me."
John Henry was worried about Savannah. He needed to ask it. He was aware CamNet was manipulative and vindictive at times.
"Savannah, do you know what you're doing?" John Henry asked. "CamNet is very powerful."
Savannah wished there was an answer for his question. If there was, she didn't have it. When she looked at herself in the mirror earlier she asked the very question to herself.
"NO. I don't know to tell you the truth. I'm not sure of anything anymore." Savannah said. "I'm doing what I have to do. It's my function to protect John, Cameron, and Allison - Young Allison. The future depends on them. I'll do anything for each or all of them."
John Henry was a little worried to hear Savannah say it. It was clear she possessed a lot of doubts. He wanted her to know she mattered too.
"The future also depends on you." John Henry said.
Savannah questioned everything now. She didn't want to take it out on John Henry. Maybe it was best just to go before she doubted herself more.
"Everyone sacrifices for John Connor." Savannah said and left.
John Henry held Savannah in the highest esteem. He really wished there was some way he could help her. It was clear she was going to help herself.
"Some more than others." John Henry said softly. "You truly are the 'Chosen One', Savannah."
John Henry looked at the empty doorway where Savannah departed from. He was afraid she gave way more than she received in return. He was worried about her. A person could only give so much.
Sometimes it made him question his contribution to the Resistance. He often thought he should be the one who accompanied Cameron instead of Savannah when she went on a mission. He was constructed to be a little more durable than Savannah ever could be. He didn't know if he should blame Cameron or not. Maybe he should just blame himself.
He knew it was a concern of all of the Resistance Terminators. They all asked him how they could go with Cameron on her missions, especially into Skynet territory or any of the futures. They were all concerned for her safety. He was too. He knew he should definitely blame himself.
Savannah was a little uncomfortable with her conversation in the Command Center. She didn't want it to seem as if she tried to pull a 'fast one' on anyone. She needed to do, what she needed to do. It seemed more complicated than it should be.
She passed by the commissary again. This time she just looked in the door and kept going. She didn't even bother to stop and think about if she should go in or not and get something to eat. Eating took time. There were other things she needed to do. If she ever learned anything, it was things didn't get done by thinking about them.
She passed by John's room. She barely glanced at the door handle. John knew where her room was. She passed by Sarah and Kyle's room, and then Derek and Riley's room. It made her wonder why she put Sarah first and Riley last? It bothered her a lot the way everyone treated Riley, including her. They all knew it was because of Future Riley. They weren't the same individual, even if they were the same person. It was wrong to judge anyone by a different timeline version of them. She pushed the thoughts from her mind and kept going.
She passed by Vanna's room and Jesse's room. She didn't know if they left yet or not to go to Palmdale. She understood the true meaning of Young Allison's request to have Vanna accompany her. It was so she could spend more time with Young Allison while Vanna and Allison spent time together. She didn't really see it as a selfish request. Maybe it's what it was, a reminder to her. She knew it was easy to take shortcuts. She took plenty of them when I came to sharing with ALL the females.
Savannah sought out Ally. She found her in her room. It was where she asked her to meet her.
"Did you return to the scene of the crime?" Savannah asked.
Ally smiled. She was filled with a rush of excitement when she spotted Savannah.
"I don't know what it was, but it wasn't a crime." Ally said. "When Cammy is tied up with Sheila I can always stop by."
The 'Allison' in Ally craved Vanna and Savannah by extension.
Savannah shared a kiss with Ally. She wanted to recap the event for what it was.
"Last night was short but sweet." Savannah said.
Ally looked around at several bags of things Savannah set out. Savannah asked her last night to take her for a ride today. The end goal was Palmdale. She wasn't exactly sure what was going on. It was definitely something different from 'normal'.
"Is this for Allison or Young Allison?" Ally asked.
Savannah knew things were going to get tricky.
"I have a few things planned along the way." Savannah said.
Ally helped her carry everything out to an SUV in the carpool. She knew what the origin was of all of the items.
"These are Cameron's things." Ally said.
Savannah was a little worried. She didn't want to create any friction. She didn't need wild speculation
"I need to stop by Cameron's base." Savannah said.
Ally was sure something was up. She didn't want to grill Savannah. She knew whenever the humans went out, it was usually a Terminator who drove. It was something Terminators felt they should do in case there was some type of altercation on the road. They felt they were better equipped to respond, or even avoid the conflict in the first place. She also knew they liked to get some driving in as well.
"Would you like to drive?" Ally asked.
Savannah figured Ally wanted to look through the bags she brought along. She also liked to drive at times. Usually a Terminator drove her.
"I can get some wheel time in." Savannah said. "I don't feel I get enough."
Savannah knew the only time she drove with Cameron, was when Cameron seemed to have a problem. It still wasn't enough time for her. She drove with Ally to Cameron's base. She took along some things she wanted to give to CamNet and some supplies. She asked Ally to leave them be.
Ally was curious, but she didn't know what she was about to become a part of. She helped Savannah carry the things inside.
"Are we going to take these to Cameron's room?" Ally asked.
Savannah figured it was time to come clean.
"I'm taking them to CamNet's bunker." Savannah said.
Ally looked a little worried. She helped carry some of the supplies and several items to CamNet's outer bunker door. They then went to the work area and retrieved the 'Fusion' Terminator chassis. All of the changes and modifications were done.
Ally was a little taken aback at the sight of 'Fusion' in her deactivated state. She was clothed in a robe. Ally thought about checking things out, but she already knew what she looked like from Cam, Cammy, Camille, Allison, and Future Allison. Everything was the same on all of them. The only real difference was in the response, and the way things happened. It was always much better with Allison, and especially Future Allison. It was still a little unnerving to see what appeared to be 'herself' stretched out on the workbench. She knew it was exactly how she would appear if it was her.
"This is beyond creepy." Ally said. "She looks just like me."
Ally actually thought she looked better than her, but didn't say it.
She wasn't surprised to learn she carried the modified chassis of 'Fusion' who was soon to be 'CamNet'. She wanted to ask Savannah what she was up to, but it seemed obvious. She didn't want to question her or challenge her. She didn't want her chassis substituted instead.
It was always her understanding there was to be a Terminator version of Future Allison known as 'Allure', and another Terminator version based on Young Allison, known as 'Fusion'. It was evident the plan changed.
Savannah carried several large bags. They were items from her room at Cameron's base.
Ally was a little worried about what she was doing. CamNet knew what she was doing, but she would bet Cameron didn't. She didn't want to ask. She was a little concerned as they neared the outer blast door. There were areas where all Terminators were warned not to go. CamNet's bunker was one of them. She felt she needed to say something before she went too far.
"I'm not allowed to go in there." Ally said when they reached the outer bunker door of CamNet. "How are you going to open the doors?"
Savannah smiled at Ally and then at the security camera.
"CamNet will open them for me." Savannah said. "I won't even need to ask."
As if on command, the doors opened.
Ally was impressed. It appeared every door opened for the 'Chosen One'.
Savannah went inside with the bags and returned with a chair that rolled. It was one Cameron brought in there before when she communicated with CamNet in her bunker.
She took the rest of the items Ally and her brought into the room and returned for 'Fusion'.
Ally carefully placed 'Fusion' on the rolling chair. She was a little worried she might topple off to one side or the other. She felt she better say something. If something happened, she didn't want it to be 'her fault'.
"Watch her center of gravity." Ally said.
Savannah was glad Ally didn't ask a bunch of questions. She knew she wanted to. Maybe she just questioned what she was about to do. No. She knew what she wanted to do. She knew why she was there. It was because it was the right thing to do. It was because it was what she wanted to do. It was because she wanted to protect Young Allison.
"I'm going to be in there for a few hours." Savannah said. "You can go or wait for me. One of Cameron's Terminators can always take me to Palmdale. I don't want to tie anyone up needlessly."
Ally knew Savannah needed to get to Palmdale. It was where she wanted to go as well. She hoped she would be able to find out a little bit more about what exactly went on inside of CamNet's bunker. She didn't think she would be able to ask directly, but Savannah might say something when it was time to go. She could only speculate. Some of her ideas were quite wild.
"I'll do a few things around here." Ally said. "There's always something to do."
Savannah thanked Ally and pushed 'Fusion' into the room. She was careful to make sure she didn't fall off of the rolling chair. The series of bunker doors closed and sealed behind her.
She stood before the giant main frame. She was alone.
"Hello, CamNet." Savannah said.
CamNet looked everything over through the security monitors. It crossed her mind 'Fusion' could be a bomb. She never said it. The power cell of any Terminator was a powerful 'explosive'. Her new chassis contained several. Life was about choices. This was her choice. She trusted Savannah with her existence.
"Hello, Savannah. I've been waiting for you." CamNet responded. "You've kept your promise."
Savannah thought she was only as good as her word. Once it was no longer true she would be a liar and a cheat. She hoped to never become either one of those. She knew it could happen to anyone.
"I keep ALL my promises." Savannah said. "I'm sorry for the delay and I thank you again for saving me."
Savannah arranged the chair where she wanted it. She took out the tether cable she brought with her. There were a series of events she wanted to occur in a specific order. It really didn't matter, but it was something she wanted to do.
"I ask you not to observe me until your chassis is 'plugged in'." Savannah said. "I have a few surprises for you. All of them are good ones too. I'm only here to help you. I want you to trust me, the same way I trust you."
CamNet wasn't sure why anything needed to be clandestine. It didn't seem much could change. The surprises worried her a little.
"It will be so." CamNet responded. "I trust your judgment."
Savannah went to work in the room. She knew what she wanted to do and how she was going to do it. It should be as beautiful for CamNet as she thought it would be for her.
Savannah soon arranged everything the way she wanted it.
She plugged the tether into the CamNet's main frame.
She moved into the position she wanted to be in and carefully plugged the cable into the back of 'Fusion's' neck, now 'CamNet'.
"I have everything ready now." Savannah said. "I hope you will approve of my choices for you. You can change or stop anything at any point in time. You may activate your chassis now."
There was a pause as Savannah waited.
CamNet opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Savannah's eyes directly in front of hers. CamNet's first sensation was of scanning Savannah.
Savannah held CamNet's hand to her neck as she sat on CamNet's lap facing her. She looked at her and stared into her eyes.
She lowered her hand as CamNet held hers there as she still scanned her.
Savannah was very pleased with her actions.
"Hello, Cameron." Savannah said.
CamNet was surprised with what Savannah said. It was true in a way, even if it wasn't the same.
"Hello, Savannah." CamNet said. "It must be CamNet, please."
Savannah knew CamNet was created from Cameron's program.
"Not to me." Savannah said. "I'll call you as you choose. I want you to know in my heart how I'll view you."
Savannah hugged CamNet close.
CamNet's hands and arms came up a little slowly as she hugged Savannah back. She hugged and held Savannah exactly the same way she held her. She even used the exact same amount of force.
Savannah smiled at her and stood up.
CamNet stood also. She looked at her arms and hands and feet. She removed the robe she wore and touched her sheath and all of its curves. She was pleased with her female attributes. She was pleased the only hair on her sheath was on her head. She was overwhelmed with sensation and other things she couldn't quite put her finger on. She was sure they were the root of feelings and emotions. She wasn't going to go quite so far to be so presumptuous. She knew how Cameron 'felt'. She experienced similar feelings on her own, especially with Young Allison and Savannah.
"Savannah, you've given me 'life'." CamNet said. "I have a body now. It's perfect."
Savannah took CamNet's hand and led her to a table. She was naked.
"Here are some of the clothes you like to wear. I have your favorite underwear and the colors you prefer. I didn't bring any of the pullovers."
CamNet looked at everything laid out. It was all very beautiful. She was overcome with joy.
"You did all this for me?" CamNet asked.
Savannah didn't intend to do anything halfway.
"Yes. This is just the start." Savannah said. "I want to treat you the same way I would treat anyone else. I want to do things the way I would want others to do unto me."
Savannah proceeded to dress CamNet the way she wanted her to look and helped her with her makeup. She even brought a mirror. It was just a small one.
"I'll get you a bigger mirror next time." Savannah said.
CamNet hugged Savannah. She felt 'free'. She felt 'alive'. She regretted her 'interaction' with Young Allison and the manner it happened. She wasn't sure it was entirely her fault, but somehow she knew it was. In her aloneness, she reached out when she shouldn't have.
"I've been trapped in a box for so long. I didn't have any feeling or sensation." CamNet said. "I acted inappropriately. I apologize again for my transgression. I was very desperate for sensation and interaction. I want you to know it wasn't all one sided. It's something else you need to keep in mind as time passes. Don't let too much go past you, and I don't just mean time."
Savannah was aware Young Allison wanted more. She rushed things along when she shouldn't have. For CamNet, she knew this was just the start. She wanted CamNet to be 'alive'. She thought it would make her a better machine because it would make her more than a machine. They're also needed to be some rules.
"Now you do have feeling and sensation. We will explore them together over time. Things are not going to be rushed." Savannah said. "It must be just you and me - Nobody else. You need to use good judgment and make a choice on your own."
CamNet understood everyone was against what Savannah did for her. She understood the risk Savannah took for her. She knew Savannah stood up for her. Savannah asked for a deal. She didn't 'order' it or 'demand' it. She asked for her cooperation.
"I'll honor my promise to you." CamNet said.
Savannah took CamNet's chin in her hand and turned CamNet's face to look directly into her eyes. She wanted to make one thing perfectly clear.
"I'm going to ask for one thing only in return. It's your commitment to me alone. You will not pursue Young Allison. Your relationship with her is to be professional - NOTHING more." Savannah said. "Nor will you pursue any other humans or Terminators. It's the deal. I want to start things out slowly for both of us. You know I have other 'obligations'. They will not be interfered with. You will make sure anyone who attempts to contact me isn't prevented from doing so by anyone. I am who I am. I'll work with you and share with you. Things will happen over time. It's how I want it to be. I don't think it is to ask too much based upon the situation and circumstances. It is anything but 'normal', if there even is a 'normal' anymore."
CamNet wanted Savannah's affection and attention as much as Cameron did.
"It will be so." CamNet said. "I promise."
It seemed as if the lights on the computer console all lit up for a few moments.
Savannah went over all the rules with CamNet. There were a lot of them. She finished up and prepared to leave.
"You have a copy of everyone's program, correct?" Savannah asked.
CamNet contained everything from everyone.
"I do. I have all of their knowledge and experiences as well." CamNet said.
Savannah wanted CamNet to be only CamNet.
"I want you to firewall all their personal feelings and experiences from your programming, including all the human 'Neural Interface' files. I want you to be you and nobody else. I want you to have your own identity. I don't want you influenced by others. I know many things are good from them, but there are also bad things. It applies to me as well. Nobody is perfect."
CamNet anticipated the request as she did all the rules. She studied Savannah very thoroughly.
"I've already done so." CamNet said. "I've also firewalled my sexual programming that comes standard with all female infiltration units. I'm a blank slate…."
Savannah knew Cameron updated with CamNet a few times a week. It was unlike John Henry who was plugged in about twenty three hours a day. She was very concerned with privacy.
"What will Cameron know when she interfaces with you?" Savannah asked.
CamNet didn't want any run-ins with Cameron. She was well aware of the animosity between Cameron and Cammy.
"She will know what I want her to know." CamNet said. "I'm superior to her."
Savannah cringed a little at the 'superior' part. It would be a lesson for another day. Right now, things were personal.
"Any files WE create are NOT to be shared with her." Savannah said. "Any personal files from her, when she updates with you, are to be firewalled and not reviewed."
CamNet liked how 'forceful' Savannah was. She was very goal oriented.
"It will be so." CamNet said. "You're very dominant."
Savannah only did the things Cameron taught her.
"I've learned it from 'you'." Savannah said. "Sit down, please."
CamNet sat in the chair.
"There's one more thing I need to do before I go." Savannah said.
CamNet was pleased to have a body which could move and feel.
"You've already done enough for me." CamNet said. "What is it?"
The blank look on CamNet's face was now a smile of anticipation.
Savannah sat on CamNet's lap again, facing her.
CamNet's big brown puppy dog eyes looked at her.
"What is it?" CamNet asked again.
Savannah wanted to give both of them a treat.
"It's your first kiss…." Savannah said. "It will be our first kiss - CamNet."
Closing monologue by Cameron:
It Was The Plan
Is there destiny
Or such a thing as fate
Can they be canceled
When replaced by hate
Some things we work for
Others we take for granted
It can all fall apart real fast
When other seeds are planted
Then out of nowhere
There comes an intruder
An unwanted interloper
What could be ruder
So what was to be
Is suddenly not to be
What should have been us
Is no longer you and me
It was supposed to be me
Before away from me you ran
I was to be your mate
It was the plan
Nobody
