Chapter 08

REALLY surprised that NO ONE reviewed the last chapter

Previously:

The crowd groaned, but they understood that their savior was most likely very tired.

After their savior went to bed, the chief called out to them all.

Izuku would have a surprised, come morning.

Now:

Izuku couldn't believe what he saw when he woke up.

flashback

Izuku was dumbfounded. "Why is everyone kneeling with their stuff packed?" izuku asked.

"They're moving," shin said.

"In THIS WASTELAND?!" izuku exclaimed. "But what about monsters, what then?!" izuku panicked

"If there are monsters," a childish female voice began, while tugging on the bottom of his shirt, "then I'LL deal with them," the childish voice said. Izuku looked down, and was shocked.

"I'll destroy the monsters in the blink of an eye," she said, while pretending to fight. The child essentially looked like a chibi shin, but without the scarf.

"AAAAAGH," izuku screamed in shock. "SHIN HAS A HATCHLING, HERE?!" izuku screamed in shock.

"Don't scream like that at her!" shin demanded. "This isn't my hatchling, it's a fragment of me," shin explained.

"You mean you can make clones?! You really should let me know all of your abilities!" izuku exclaimed.

"I will, in due time," shin said, smiling with her fragment. Izuku looked at the highland orcs.

"Are you certain that you wish to do this?" izuku asked.

Without even pretending to hesitate, the chief said, "we're absolutely certain!"

Flashback end

Luckily, shin was able to transport their homes using her mist, or they'd be homeless, izuku thought.

"Now, what elements do i have," izuku muttered. He then channeled his mana, bringing out representations of the elements that he has an affinity for. "Wow, i have an affinity for water, fire and darkness," izuku said. "The rest are average, but thunder is the weakest affinity i have," izuku continued. "Although, i can make multiple brids of the same element, or use different elements for them," izuku finished. Suddenly, izuku was bored. "I'm gonna head out, shin," izuku said.

"Sure, be careful," she said distractedly. The reason she was distracted? She was watching a historical drama, and she was REALLY into it, barely even blinking.

After exploring for a bit, he came across a pair of orcs that needed some help.

"What's going on?" izuku asked them.

"Oh, hi there, izuku. We were cutting down some trees in order to make a place for you to live," one of the orcs said as he looked at the tree in question. "But the trees around here are rather hard," the orc finished.

"Thanks for doing what you can to build me a house, guys," izuku said. He then looked at the tree. "Is this the tree in your way?" izuku asked.

"Yeah, it is," an orc agreed.

"Right, i'll use this shortsword that you guys gave me," izuku said, holding up an ornate shortsword with a blade that might as well be made of clear glass.

Izuku then began to imbue the shortsword with something. I'll call the power that tsukuyomi gave me: kai. First, i'll make this sword sharper and more durable, izuku thought. Then he cut the base of the tree, as if it were a block of warm cheese. Next i'll strengthen my body, he thought, before he grabbed the tree and LITERALLY picked it up.

Naturally, this surprised the two orcs watching him.

"Where did you wanna put this?" izuku asked.

"Um~, over there's fine," one of the orcs said in surprise, pointing to an area.

Izuku dropped the tree over where the orc indicated.

"Wow, this is a great shortsword," izuku said, turning to face the two orcs. "it's incredibly sharp," izuku said.

"That's not just the swords sharpness," an orc complained.

Izuku then noticed that the orc was injured.

"Are you injured?" izuku asked.

"It's nothing i haven't handled before," the orc dismissed.

"I'd like to try something," izuku said, holding a hand out, while activating kai.

"Sure, here you go," the orc said, unwrapping the bandage.

Izuku healed the injury.

"Woah, you healed me without using mana!" the orc said in surprise.

Does kai not use mana? Izuku wondered, looking at his hand as he did so. That would explain why shin was unable to find me in all that mist izuku thought to himself.

Izuku sat on a stump, as he had noticed something. "Ow, the hell?" izuku wondered. He turned his arm over, and saw that his forearm was bleeding. Did a stray branch get me?" izuku wondered. "Healing kai," izuku said, with a clear semi-circle of power appearing around him, but his injury wasn't healing. "Huh, guess i can't use kai's healing properties on myself then," izuku said as he got bandages out to wrap his forearm. "That sucks, but hopefully i won't need a lot of healing," izuku said, some of the bandage in his mouth as he tightens it around his arm.

Just then, a mist gate appeared, and tomoe walked through. "Welcome ba-," izuku then saw the people in her arms. One looked like a youngish-oldish small man and the other looked like a little girl. "Shin, what happened?!" izuku exclaimed.

"I ran into an old foe of mine. As usual, it was pretty hungry," she said. She then tossed a partially eaten ax head between them. "These are its leftovers," she said.

"Wha-?" izuku said.

Just then, shin noticed his injury. Oh, no, did you injure yourself? That's not good," she said, with a smile small enough to not be noticed appeared on her lips. "The smell of your blood will draw it here, just wait and see," she said.

As if to just prove her right, a crack appeared near them, so izuku turned to look at it. Not even three seconds later, a bit of a giant spider FORCED its way in, using a leg to stab izuku, had he not jumped out of the way. "YIPE!" izuku exclaimed after he jumped back and out of the way. "Shin, what the hell IS that thing?!" izuku asked.

"I don't know what it's called," she said.

That was when the small male spoke up. "The black spider of disaster," he began. "A giant spider plagued by an eternal hunger," he said, "it'll eat ANYTHING it comes across," the guy finished, izuku looked at the remains of the ax near him.

"Damn, that's some appetite," izuku bluntly stated.

"Indeed," shin said.

"Are you able to reason?" izuku asked the spider. Instead of answering, the spider tried to use its webs to grab him. "Wow, they were right, you're too hungry to focus on ANYTHING other than eating," izuku said. Izuku lifted his hands a fire brid in in each hand. "Since you decided to attack me for food, i WILL defend myself," izuku said, as he prepared to fight back, a fire brid and water ball above him. I'll charge my mana into the air above me, izuku thought. He looked down, focusing fire and water into separate hands, then manipulating them into short swords. To start with, i'll attack with fire and water. He looked back at where the spider was SUPPOSED to be, but saw that the spider had vanished while he wasn't looking. "What? Where did it go?" izuku asked himself. He saw a shadow above him, and saw that the spider was above him, and it decided to spit some webbing. "IT'S UP THERE?!" he demanded. He cut the webbing the spider launched at him, with some of it burning from his fire sword, yelling out "DAMN SPIDER!" as he did so.

After izuku kipped up from the ground, he dispersed his swords, raised his hands to the water and fire mana he left charging in the air, shaped them into spears, and brought them both down on top of the spider. He then spread his hands, "come to me, water and fire," izuku began to chant. "Spears of water, spears of fire, become numerous," izuku finished chanting. Izuku launched the fire and water spears. "Duo elemental spears," he cast, the spears made of water and fire pierced the spider, the fire spears burning the spider, and the water spears easily pierced clean through the spider.

"GAAAAH!" The spider exclaimed in pain.

(with shin and the other two)

"How is he doing damage to it? Not even elder dwarf weapons van harm it, and those are already quite powerful," the male said.

"oh~, so you're an elder dwarf after all, i wondered. What you you know? You were actually worth saving," shin said. She looked at the little girl next. "And who are you, little one?" shin calmly asked.

"E-eri, miss," eri introduced herself.

"How did you get near here, anyway?" shin asked.

"M-mr. moon brought me here, to be with my new daddy," eri explained as best she could.

"I see. And how would you know if you found your new daddy?" shin asked.

"Mr. moon said that my new daddy had one of the purest souls he'd ever seen in my new daddy. Mr. moon put the knowledge of songs that my daddy will play, so i can find him," eri finished explaining.

"I see," shin said. "When the spider is dealt with, would you like some help finding your new daddy?" shin asked eri.

"Yes, please," eri whimpered.

"*Whew*, i'm fighting calmer than i did against shin. Maybe it's because of experience?" izuku asked himself. His self-questioning was broken, when then spider moved forward a bit, causing the ground to shake slightly. "Shin? Quick question: isn't the spider supposed to be not moving, anymore?" he then saw the spider's face. "And why is it blushing?" izuku asked.

Shin looked up at the question. "Master, it's entirely likely that…" she trailed off.

The scene changes to the spider's face, which was giving off a large blush, with the spider laughing. "That the spider LIKES you for causing TOO MUCH damage," shin finished.

Izuku was creeped out. "You can't be serious!" he exclaimed, before he saw that the wounds on the spider were healing, with the mana used for the attacks being devoured by the spider.

"It's using the mana i used to attack it to heal itself!" izuku exclaimed. Izuku launched some more fire spears and water spears. By the time izuku stopped attacking, the injuries from his most recent attack were already healed. "What? It's injuries are already healed? Just how powerful is its regeneration?!" izuku exclaimed. The spiders attack pattern changed. "It changed its pattern," izuku said to himself. Defensive kai izuku thought, bringing up his defensive barrier. However, one of the spiders legs pierced through the barrier like it wasn't there. The leg then pierced izuku's stomach and brought into the spiders mandibles where it proceeded to bite him, to which izuku screamed in pain. After he was brought into the spiders mandibles, izuku had a thought. This… spider… izuku brought his hands up under the mandibles. "How dare you just… casually... drink my blood?" he asked the spider as he groaned in pain, as he removed the mandibles from his body, then there was a glow.

Shin saw the glow, grabbed eri and the elder dwarf, and jumped back, then there was a good sized explosion. "Who ARE you two?!" the dwarf demanded, while eri was looking at what was happening in amazement.

After most of the dust from the explosion cleared, fire brids and water balls started to form a circle in front of izuku, izuku's eyes looked a bit dead. "Is he going to use charged brids?" shin asked herself. Izuku started launching fire and water brids. "No," shin realized in amazement. "He's launching brids of two different elements in a cycle and recharging them as part of the same action. He'd be able to launch them forever, if he had the mana for it," she finished saying, as izuku made a bow of darkness, before making an arrow of fire and water. He's done fighting safely, for this fight, shin thought to herself. Izuku drew back the arrow made of conflicting elements, and fired, with the arrow piercing and burning the spider at the same time. After the arrow finished piercing the spider, it continued flying until it hit a hill, and exploded. Both shin and the dwarf were amazed and shocked at the display. "Ah ha, all i can do is laugh," shin said in a small voice.

"Did you get your fill, you perv?" izuku asked, before he started to fall back, "oh, shit," he said, before he hit the ground and blacked out.
