Hey, guess what…another chapter is here. And therefore, a new part to my little prom arc! And I believe it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to claim that you're excited to see what's going to happen next.

Well, the wait is over once more. And so, let's begin.

"Ahhhhh. Gir? Do you know why it's a wonderful day today?"

"I DO…not."

It was a sunny day, though little of the sun's rays made it inside Zim's secret base. The red-stained windows helped with that, limiting the house to relying on artificial lighting. Which made it ever so hard to enjoy the beauty of a good sunrise. So it was apparent that Zim hadn't meant wonderful as in the day itself, but instead, something that vaguely related to it.

Speaking of Zim, he was standing in the middle of the living room, holding onto a pink coffee mug. He would have used the bigfoot cup, but Gir had regrettably smashed it into pieces. But since Zim couldn't have any negative reaction toward seeing his enemy's useless junk being destroyed, he had no way of scolding Gir.

He took another loud sip from the mug, which he hadn't filled with anything. Zim had seen the gesture a few times on the human's TV and found it somewhat amusing. Ever since then, he has spontaneously mimicked the gesture, at first as mockery, but with time he had found it as a perfect way to convey his feeling of having done a good job. Which he always did, naturally.

"Well Gir you see, last night I was able to enact the most WONDERFULL REVENGE! And today, I get to bask in my GLORIOUS victory! HAH HAHA HAH-" Zim continued laughing for a bit, before ending with a small coughing fit. Once he was done, he looked down at the mug with a surprised expression.

"Huh, maybe I really should start filing this container with liquid."

Gir who had been silent under Zim's laughter and coughing, finally spoke up once again, with his screeching robotic voice.

"OH OH! DID YOU MEET WITH MARY LAST NIGHT?!"

"Eh? Oh, yes, I lured the oblivious Dib-beast, RIGHT into my trap. HAH! That stupid moron never saw it coming." Zim proudly explained with a smug smirk.

"THAT'S SO NICE…did you hug?" Gir innocently asked, sending a small shock through Zim's body, who with a panicked expression turned to face him, hoping to quickly quell his minion's delusional beliefs.

"IT WASN'T NICE! IT WAS A TRAP, AND I SET HIM ON FIRE! He was still roasting when he fled, hehe…Also, WE DIDN'T HUG!"

"Not even a little bit?" The robot asked, his sad face complementing his disappointed words.

"NO! No hugging!" Zim continued, pointing at Gir while staring at him with a serious look.

"Aww…" Gir responded, before looking down with sorrow on his face.

Zim eyed him for a moment, before returning to sip his empty mug. He then just stood and stared into nothing, for some reason feeling a knot in his stomach. A slightly irritated look spread across his face, as his eyes narrowed, and thoughts drilled their way into his brain.

Blast! Now even Gir has caught on to my affair with my supposed 'enemy'...Blah, it disgusts me to see how low I, Zim, have fallen. Before, the stupid Dib-stink would have shaken in complete and utter fear, whenever I would approach him. And now? Now he is merely annoyed by my glorious presence.

He closed his eyes, and let out a long and dramatic sigh as if hoping someone would notice and comment on it. But Gir paid no mind, as he had already forgotten his disappointment and was busy watching some kind of cartoon on the television. Zim glanced at him, still waiting on someone to comment on his misery. When it become clear he wasn't going to get anything out of Gir, he let out a much shorter sigh and continued with his pondering.

I need to figure out what that devious human has been doing to me. All of these…ugh…FEELINGS are getting worse. I hoped following and observing him would have let him reveal what he had done to me. But either he has proven himself to be much more of a challenge to decipher or, worst of all…it isn't HIM, that's causing these…NO! No, I shouldn't think such things. Of course, it's him! Who else would dare to infect the glorious Zim with these SQUISHY FEELINGS! He shall soon pay for his insolence. You know what? Next time I see him and his enormous head, I'm gonna finish what I started so long ago. Yes, that's right DIB! Next time you show your ugly face, I will-

The sound of the doorbell ringing sent Zim into a defense posture, holding the cup up in front of him like a shield. There he stood for a moment, waiting for something to happen next. Then there came a knock, which closely resembled that which Dib would use whenever he would come to pester Zim. When it became clear that there wasn't any immediate danger, Zim returned to his original position and started looking around the living room, with an investigating look.

"Has the Dib-thing planted a mind reader in my base again?" He asked himself, pretty convinced that the creature outside of his door must have been Dib. There wasn't anyone else who would come to visit him anyway.

The knocking continued, and with a disgruntled look, Zim went over to answer, if only to immediately tell Dib to buzz off. He stood while mechanical arms came down from the ceiling and placed his wig on top of his antennas, and the contacts in his eyes. When the procedure was done, and while still holding on to the mug, he used his other hand to open the door. The first thing he noticed was that the person at the door wasn't as tall as The Dib. And secondly, that it wasn't Dib at all.

"Oh, I thought you were a different human worm."

"Would you like to buy my girl scout cookies?!" The human asked, disregarding Zim's weird response to seeing her.

The voice belonged to a young girl scoat, in a bright green uniform, covered head to toe with badges ranging from 'how to tie knots all the way to 'how to do a heart transplant on a squirrel'. Zim first cringed at the sight of a human he didn't know, before looking out over the lawn, and returning his bewildered gaze to the girl scout.

"How did you get past my laser defense system?"

"They only cost seven dollars!" She continued, blatantly ignoring Zim's question, before pushing a green box into his face. It was then he noticed the cart that was parked behind her, completely packed with all kinds of different boxes filled with cookies. With a grunt, he pushed the box away from his face and turned his agitated attention towards her.

"Last time Zim was offered one of your boxes of cookies, it was only for FIVE MONIES! DO NOT TRY TO SWINDLE THE GENIUS ZIM!"

"But…It's for a good cause! We're going to use it to-"

"ICK! Then there is even LESS reason for Zim to give his precious monies to you! And also, your voice is annoying." Before she had time to protest, he slammed the door in her face. He turned around and walked away, with a satisfied look on his face.

"Now, where was I? Ah yes, planning the inevitable demise of THE DIB! My favorite subject of the day. Gir, prepare some snacks, I'm gonna need them while I'm planning new ways to cause, IMMEASURABLE, and UNENDING PAIN TOWARD-"

Zim was interrupted when there came another knock from the door, making him turn around frustrated. He then stamped on the floor all way back to the door, with the continuing sound of knocks from the door getting louder and louder. When he reached the door he violently swung it open.

"I already told you to go-OW!"

Before he had time to finish, he was hit right in the middle of his face by a small rock, leaving a small bruise at the place where skin and rock touched. He lost balance for a moment, swaying back and forth. He regained his balance only once he grabbed the side of the door, holding on to it for dear life. Once he stood still again, he let go and used the now free hand to rub the mark left behind by the rock. Before even looking at his attacker, he had already prepared a speech to yell at them.

"WHO DARES ATTACK ZIM WHILE HE IS STILL IN HIS BASE! WHOEVER YOU ARE, PREPARE FOR INDESCRIBABLE DESTRUCTION!" He yelled with an ominous voice. It was only when he was done, that he actually took a moment to look at his assailant.

"Oh, that was quick," Dib muttered with a slightly worried look on his face, as he wondered if there was any worse way to ask someone to prom, than hitting them in the face with a rock. But he let that thought go, as he tried to figure out how exactly he was going to salvage the situation. Meanwhile, Zim was looking at Dib with disbelief, who stood on the sidewalk right outside of Zim's house. It seemed the revelation had surprised him for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure.

"DIB-STINK?! WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME! I HAVEN'T EVEN TRIED KILLING YOU TODAY…YET!" Zim continued, his voice ringing with the sound of betrayal.

"Well, would you believe me if I said I didn't mean to?" Dib asked with an apologetic look.

"Wha-NO!" He replied with a confused and angry tone, wondering if the Dib-thing was trying to pull a trick on him.

"Now, tell me why you're ambushing Zim?! Before I send you back on your way…in pieces." Zim asked with a cold and threatening voice, his face twisted into the face of a predator ready to pounce at their prey at any moment.

He took it surprisingly well Dib thought to himself, deciding he best be quick before Zim closes the door, or more realistically, starts firing lasers at him.

"Okay, I'll tell you. You just have to…wait, is that a new mug." Dib apparently decided to ignore his previous decision, and instead was at that moment pointing to Zim's pink mug. Probably trying to avoid asking the question he had come to ask.

The alien had forgotten all about it and nearly seemed shocked to see the mug in his hand.

"Eh?"

"I thought you were using my bigfoot cup? Where is it?"

Dib was showing a weird attachment and worry for the cup, which would have seemed weird to anyone else. But Zim wasn't anyone else and took it just as serious, as a single droplet of sweat fell from his forehead, as he stared down at the pink mug, and images of the smashed bigfoot cup flashed before his eyes. He then looked back at Dib with an emotionless, blank expression.

"...I don't know what you're talking about." He answered with a bland tone, like that of a machine. Dib stared at him for a few seconds, before slapping himself in the face.

"Goddammit." He whispered to himself, already preparing for the inevitability that Zim was going to break into his house and steal the one Dib had. But he decided to let it go for a moment, as he forced himself to remember the reason he was at Zim's house in the first place. A reason he would much rather forget than remember.

"Okay, I'm just not gonna ask. Now, I need you to let me go over to you."

He stood and waited for confirmation from Zim, who looked down on the lawn, and all the gnomes armed with lasers. An evil grin then appeared on his face, as he looked up at Dib with a mischievous look.

"Oh, but you can just walk over here. Isn't that right, Dib-stink?"

Dib was at first confused at how Zim had forgotten all about his security systems. Then he remembered that he was talking to Zim.

"Ha. Ha." He said sarcastically, with Zim looking on, his evil grin replaced with a self-satisfied smirk.

"Very funny. Now seriously, I need to…" Dib felt a shudder go through him, as the realization of what he was going to do kept hounding him from the back of his mind. He had been pretty lenient with many things when it came to his relationship with Zim, but he wondered if asking the murderous alien to prom was maybe a tad too much. The only thing that held him back from just quitting and running away, was the thought of the consequences that would follow. Besides, Zim was going to say no and then probably forget all about it, so why was he even worried. That was what he wanted, right?

"...ugh…I need to ask you something." He said, his voice strained and his eyes squinting from agony, as he uttered the words. There wasn't a single part of him that was convinced that he would be able to go through with it, at least without suffering some kind of mental breakdown. Zim on the other hand was already imagining the fun he would have from causing the human misfortune, so much so that he didn't hear the pained tone Dib spoke with.

"Well, then I'm SURE you can just walk over here and tell me." The alien continued mockingly, waving his hand toward himself, inviting Dib to walk over to him. Dib looked at Zim with an annoyed look, that was ever so slowly being overtaken by panic.

"I'm serious Zim. Just shut down those laser gnomes, and then we both can get this over with."

"Laser gnomes? Oh, dear Dib, I don't have any idea what you're talking about." Zim's smirk was as wide as it could be, nearly covering his entire face. And all Dib could do was look on helplessly. It was unbelievable. Zim was actively prolonging their exchange just so he could get a bit of petty revenge. Wait, it was completely believable the more he thought about it. Which just left him even more helpless.

"Zim, this is stupid. Either you let me past your defenses, or we're gonna be standing here all day."

"Why can't you tell me from where you're standing? I don't want your yucky feet all over my lawn."

Dib was left dumbfounded, as the horror of the situation was starting to set in.

"Come on Zim. Just let me-"

"No. If you got anything to say, then say it. From all over there. Away from me. Where I can't smell you." Zim interrupted with a disgusted look, pointing at the sidewalk where Dib was standing.

"I'm not going to say it for anyone to hear! It's, uh…private."

When Zim didn't respond and instead looked around, deliberately trying to look like he was ignoring the human, Dib couldn't help but start fuming. Seeing his reaction, the alien leaned up against the door, feeling a nice sense of accomplishment from seeing Dib's angry face.

"ZIM I SWEAR TO GOD, YOU BETTER LET ME PAST YOUR LAWN OR ELSE!" Dib yelled as he was starting to get tired of Zim's antics. When all he got back was an irritating snickering, he clenched his fists and took an aggressive stance.

"I'M SERIOUS! YOU LET ME IN RIGHT NOW, OR I'M GONNA THROW MORE ROCKS AT YOU, YOU HEAR!" He was grinding his teeth against each other when he felt someone staring at him. He looked over to his right to see Zim's neighbor standing on his lawn, looking at Dib with a concerned, and judging look. Dib wished at that moment that he hadn't just threatened to throw rocks at Zim. But it was then that he heard Zim's infuriating laughter, causing an angry reaction that completely took over his self-control. With a snap turn, he was facing Zim once again, who was still laughing his butt off.

"YEAH?! YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY DON'T YOU?!"

"Indeed I do, Dib-pig," Zim replied taking a short break from his laughter.

"YOU'RE NOT GONNA FIND IT SO FUNNY WHEN I BEAT YOU OVER THE HEAD WITH A BIG STICK YOU STUPID ALIEN BUG!"

Dib heard the neighbor quietly muttering something under his breath, so he quickly turned to face him next.

"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?! GOT SOMETHING TO SAY, THEN SAY IT!" He yelled at the man, who looked back at him with a fearful expression. He was stunned for a moment but slowly started making his way to his front door, making sure not to break eye contact with Dib, as he was scared the freaky kid was going to jump him if he looked away. Once he reached the door, he made his way inside exceptionally fast, slamming the door behind him. Dib stood and looked at the door while breathing heavily.

"I don't think I could ever get enough of seeing you humiliating yourself, but I got things to do, Dib-stink. So could you wrap it up already?" Zim asked as he believed he had humored himself with the human worm long enough, and he had to get on with his day. Which was going to consist of him coming up with new plans to torment Dib with.

That's what I have been trying to do these last few minutes. Dib thought to himself, letting out a frustrated sigh. He turned around, having spent the last of his anger on the neighbor. At that point, he just wanted to get the whole thing over with.

"I'm guessing you still aren't going to let me pass your lawn?"

"HAH, no."

"Ugh." He muttered, rubbing his eyes from exhaustion. He usually had more energy to deal with Zim, but his sleep had been less than bearable, a she had stayed up all night thinking about the fact that he was going to ask Zim to the prom. Something he was just about to do at that moment. He took in a deep breath and held it in as if hoping he could make himself pass out. But eventually, he let the air out again, and with a moment for preparation, he was about as ready as he ever could be. Which wasn't much, if at all. He took one look at Zim, who stared back with an impatient expression. Zim was leaning against the door frame while crossing his arms, wondering what was taking The Dib so long. And why was his face turning all red?

Well, Dib, it's now or never. God, I can't believe I'm doing this.

With one last gulp and a blushing face, he slowly opened his mouth, and the words shakingly made their way out of his mouth, sounding more like random mumbling than a request.

"Will you go with me to prom?"

"Eh? I didn't hear you worm. Speak louder!

Goddammit Zim, why is nothing ever easy with you?!

"WILL YOU GO TO THE PROM WITH ME?!" Dib screamed, letting out his frustration and pent-up nervousness. He saw from the corner of his eyes someone in the neighbor's window and snapped his face toward them. The person was already gone, leaving behind only a waving window blind. Dib shook his head and looked back at Zim. But he wasn't at the door. Instead, he was standing right in front of Dib, only a few inches away from his face. The human let out a surprised "Agh!", before falling backward, landing on the cement road behind him. Quickly making sure his glasses were okay, he then looked up at Zim with an annoyed expression.

"Jesus Zim, you could have made a sound or something!"

He expected the alien invader to retort with something along the lines of 'I'm just too good for that' or 'you're inferior hearing just couldn't hear me move'. But no, Zim just stood still and stared down at the human, with a shocked and confused look, as if still trying to understand what the words had meant. Dib would be lying if he said that he wasn't a little bit worried about the alien's silence. With no reply coming from Zim soon, Dib decided to stop waiting and pulled himself up from the ground.

"You could give me a helping hand, you know?" Dib said sarcastically, following it with a short chuckle, hoping to lighten up the atmosphere between them, which had all of a sudden become very tense. It was in that moment of silence, that Dib was starting to feel the weight of the question he had asked Zim. And for once in his life, he hoped for that little bug to open his mouth and say something stupid. But the silence continued for a bit more before Zim finally started to comprehend the human's invitation. It was then Zim's expression changed to one of distrust and disbelief.

"You…want Zim to go with you to the skool prom?" He asked, his voice riddled with confusion, wondering why Dib was bringing up the prom thing. He was even more dumbfounded at the fact that the human had out of all things, asked Zim to accompany him.

Upon hearing the question through Zim's mouth, Dib couldn't help but scream internally. He didn't know whether it was out of embarrassment or suffering, but he knew that he wanted Zim to answer as soon as possible, so he could run home and instead scream into his pillow for the rest of the day.

"Uhm…yeah."

Dib's face was burning red, and his eyes shifted from side to side, scared to make eye contact with Zim.

The alien continued to look at him with suspicion, trying to figure out if Dib had an ulterior motive. Which he did, but Zim knew nothing about that. The human ended up finding enough courage to face his enemy, friend, or whatever he had become. Dib hadn't felt so confused about Zim ever since when they first started having their little truce. Whatever had happened in his life, that had led him to ask an alien to prom? His sister was the first obvious choice, and he wasn't about to forgive her anytime soon, but there was something else. Something that had turned up when he had just asked Zim out.

Dib was suddenly taken away from his thoughts when Zim broke into laughter. He had expected nothing less from Zim. Yet, he couldn't help but feel that the laughter sounded somewhat forced. It might be because of how many times he had heard Zim laughing that he was able to pick it up. But it might as well have been him imagining things. But he swore that he could hear that something was different.

"You really think that I would be interested in going to this stupid prom thing?! Blah, it's nothing but a waste of time," Zim said matter-of-factly, once his laughter had died down.

"Don't mistake me for some lazy smeet that has nothing better to do with his time than go to STUPID Human activities! I have important work to do. Work which happens to involve taking over this MISERABLE and USELESS planet, so that I can outlaw ridiculous rituals such as a prom!"

Well, what did I expect? Such a shame, guess I just have to go back to Gaz and tell her that Zim doesn't want to-wait a minute…He didn't mention me.

Once the thought had struck him, it leeched itself to his mind and started draining it for activity, so it could sustain itself.

He… didn't say ANYTHING about me. Not even an 'Ew, why would I ever go with you, you stink!'. All he said was that he wasn't interested because he thought it was stupid. Okay, I have to think rationally. He hasn't mentioned the part about how much he hates me and how he would never go with me…YET! I just have to wait and see, and then I'm sure-

"Now, If you would excuse me, I have things to do. Hope to never see you again, Dib-stink!"

Before Dib had any time to say something, Zim had already turned around and was walking back to his house. Dib looked on with a confused look, as it had all gone so fast. Zim usually would have spent at least a minute or two talking about how stupid the thing in question was before he would leave. Yet, there he was, hurrying back inside of his base.

Okay, so he still hasn't said anything about me, but I'm sure that's not important. After all, is not like I care, right? Heh heh, it's not like I expected him to decline solely because it was me asking, and therefore meant that I didn't have a chance at all…But why would I want a chance, I don't CARE, so of course, I wouldn't want a chance, or for him to have said yes…WHY I'M A THINKING LIKE THIS?!

As Dib watched as Zim walked further and further away, he felt something grip him in his chest, making his breathing difficult, and a feeling of dread spread throughout his mind. It was if he DID want Zim to have said yes, or at least he just didn't believe he had a chance. But…Zim didn't say a thing about him. Something that little cruel idiot would take any chance to do. There literally wasn't a more perfect time for him to spit out insult after insult, yet he was just walking away. He didn't know why Zim was acting like that, and he didn't why seeing him walk away suddenly filled him with worry. He wanted to yell, no scream out for him to stop, and he didn't why. It was what he wanted, right? To have Zim say no so he could go back and get the USB stick and put the whole ordeal behind him. It was supposed to be a victory, yet he was standing there with his little sad face, feeling nothing but the empty void of defeat. What was happening? And why did he feel like he was about to do something incredibly stupid?

"WAIT!" He quickly yelled out, just as Zim was about to reach his door. The words had made Zim stand still for a moment before he turned around and looked at Dib with a confused and slightly worried look.

"What is it?! I already told you, I've got work to do." There was something about his words that rang hollow as if it was nothing more but a bad excuse.

It was then Dib's turn to freeze in place, as he realized he hadn't planned anything to say. His mind raced against time to try and figure something out before it became too obvious he had nothing to say. It was in those precious few seconds that a plan was formed. The plan itself was desperate in design, but Dib believed that it might just work on Zim.

"Uh…Did you know that you can win prom?" The sound that left his mouth was meager at best and was the least convincing thing that had ever been told. But still, Zim surprisingly looked at Dib with a look of interest, taking a step closer to him.

"...Go on, human," Zim asked, eyeing the human with squinting eyes.

Holy shit, this might just work.

"Yes, I mean, you can kinda win, but it's called being a prom king or queen. It's like a popularity contest, where you have to be elected by the other students, and- "

"You mean, if I win at this prom, I can become the RULER of the skool?" Zim continued asking. His face had lit up, and he sounded completely convinced.

"...Yeah…sure."

A little lie has never hurt anyone. I think. Dib thought to himself, with a tiny bit of guilt.

Zim face twisted into an evil grin, and he started chuckling to himself, his eyes becoming distant as he started thinking about the possibilities becoming this 'prom-ruler' could give him, and all the new and genius plans he could come up with.

"Yes, this would be perfect, hehe. Tell me, Dib, isn't it correct you have to bring a partner with you to this prom thing?"

"Oh uh, y-yeah that's right," Dib answered nervously, as he hadn't expected Zim to directly point out that fact.

Zim stood in contemplation for a moment, looking down on the ground with a hand on his chin. He stood there for a few seconds, before looking back up at Dib with a self-satisfied expression.

"Well, in that case, I guess you have no other choice but to accompany me to his prom, so I can win and enslave the entire skool."

"Really, it was that easy-I mean, um…" Dib hadn't expected it to go so smoothly. Or so fast either. He didn't have a single idea of what was going on inside of Zim's head. The whole thing was too easy, there had to be something else going on. But he decided to let it go. He got what he wanted after all. Which apparently was going to prom with Zim. He was going to need a lot of sleepless nights to try and figure out what exactly was wrong with him. Which reminded him of something.

"OH! The prom is on next Saturday. I…forget to mention. So, are you going to come to my house, or-"

"You will come and retrieve Zim when it's time for the prom. So don't you DARE be late, do you understand, stupid Dib-worm?!"

Dib realized that it was more of a command than a question, as Zim turned around and walked over to his door. Dib didn't stop him that time and instead watched as he went inside. Whatever emotions he was feeling at the time, he didn't want to deal with them in the middle of the street. So he made his way back home. As he slowly wandered with a distressed expression, he wondered what he was going to tell Gaz.

It was with a heavy heart that he opened the door to his house, and made his way inside. To his surprise, he couldn't hear his sister determinedly smashing the buttons on her game slave. He thought for a moment that she might have gone up to her room, but when he reached the doorway to the living room, he could feel two eyes stare at him intensely.

"So…how did it go?" Gaz asked, for once being completely sincere in her curiosity. She was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and her arms behind her neck, seemingly having waited for a while.

Dib took a few steps into the room, before laying his eyes on his sister. The moment he looked at her curious face, he suddenly felt anger surge through him. It took him a moment to comprehend why, but when he did, it felt very justified. There she was sitting and waiting for him to answer as if she hadn't been the one that had sent him over to humiliate himself in front of his enemy-or was it friend? He didn't care. All he cared about was that SHE was the one who had forced him to do it, and in the process, had rummaged through his private life as if she had the right to know everything he was doing. He didn't want to stand there and embarrass himself, just so she could get a quick kick of entertainment from him, before pushing him away again and acting like he didn't exist. No, this time, it had been personal, and downright…vile. Maybe he was overreacting, maybe she just wanted to teach him a lesson, but he didn't care. It wasn't like she did either.

"Does it matter? I did it, so just give me my recordings." His voice was cold, and with an aggressive movement he held out his hand, waiting for her to deliver what was rightfully his.

She looked at the hand with a dismissive, before turning her head up to him and looking at him directly in the eyes.

"Sure. But first, tell me what happened."

Dib considered trying to take it away from her forcefully, but he had already accepted that it would just lead to more trouble than it would be worth. He might as well humor her. It wasn't like he could hide it from her.

"Fine!" He replied, the word sounding like venom from a snake.

"He said yes, okay? There, you happy now?!" Dib's voice was slowly becoming more vicious, and his contempt was barely hidden.

"Wait, really?" Gaz asked, unfolding herself from her relaxed position. She then leaned forward with a genuinely surprised look on her face. Dib might have been fascinated by her interest, but that was for another time. A time when just looking at her didn't make him angry.

"Yeah, so what?! What do you care anyway? Now, give me the USB."

"Hm…No."

Hearing that answer didn't surprise him the least bit. It was exactly what he had expected. But didn't stop him from feeling betrayed.

"Now that Zim is actually going with you, I think I will give it back to you…AFTER the prom. You know, just to make sure you go."

With a vacant stare he looked at her for a few minutes before his fury started bubbling over, and he could barely control himself. He clenched his jaw shut, and his expression became more and more furious, the longer he looked at her. Even she seemed to be concerned about what was going to happen next.

"FINE! OKAY! WHY NOT! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU HAVEN'T DONE ENOUGH ALREADY! YOU JUST DO WHATEVER YOU WANT, I DON'T CARE!"

Gaz looked at her brother with shock, having been taken aback by his reaction. Before she had any chance to say something in her defense, Dib was already making his way out of the living room.

"You just hold on to that until it's over then! Then maybe you will finally think that I have gotten what I deserved, for what I did to Zim! If it even is about that anymore…" He yelled from over his shoulder. The last words were unusually melancholy, and Gaz couldn't help but feel a sting in her heart. She continued to look after him, until he disappeared into the hallway, and up into his room. When he was completely gone, she stared down at the floor below her, with an empty expression on her face.

She didn't know why he was acting like that. It hadn't been the worst thing she had ever done to him, yet this time he acted like she had wronged him and betrayed all his trust in her. It wasn't like she was being too hard on him, it was all perfectly fair. Okay, maybe she had been a little hard on him. But she's always been like that to him, why was he taking it so personally this time. She was still in the right, so he had no reason to be so mad at her. She hadn't done anything wrong…had she?

With a heavy, weary sigh she leaned her head back until it hit the couch behind her. She then just stared silently up at the ceiling with a tired face.

She wondered how she had messed up so badly. All she had wanted was to help him for once. Was it so hard for her to do?

"Ugh…why does this stuff have to be so complicated?"

Holy shit it's happening, they're going to the prom! *Confetti*

Now, I'm sorry the prom in this prom arc still hasn't happened yet, but it will be in the next chapter. Just wait a little bit more, I swear, it will be worth it. Hopefully…

Well, we'll just have to wait and see! Thanks for reading this story up to now, I hope you have enjoyed it. Have a good day!
