The moment he got home, the very first thing Bobby did was rush up to the door and opened it a little bit too hard as it banged itself against the wall. "Oops. Hey everyone! I'm back!"
The response he got wasn't what he had expected for instead of a talk on how his first night on the job was or a welcome back. There was instead, complete silence for a few minutes before the sound of his sister's bedroom door opening and she, with messy hair and pajamas stepped out, very annoyed over being woken up.
"Bobby. It's eight in the morning! What's with all the yelling?"
"Sorry sis." He said with a sheepish smile for that was his bad. "I just wanted to share the experience from my new job."
"Oh yeah." Releasing a yawn, Ronnie Anne scratches her back a bit. "Mom told me that you took the security gig after all. I bet it was something."
"You bet it was. Your not going to believe it, but it turns out my new job is at a old animatronic-themed pizzeria."
"Wait. You mean like Spunky's?" Ronnie Anne remembered going to those places, she used to be a bit afraid of the robot's and would keep a rather good distance away from them. It was just something about their jerky movements or how those plastic eyes always seemed to be watching her. Of course; she wasn't afraid of them anymore for only little kids are afraid of dancing robots.
"Well yes, except it's actually called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. If you ignore the iffy electricity, it's actually in very good condition."
"How long was it abandon for?" It's very surprising on how she never heard of the place before. You think she would've heard about it from one of the kids at school.
"About two years. On hind sight; it isn't actually that old. In fact; I watched this training tape and saw Clyde playing one of the racing games on it." He is as equally surprise himself that Tad hadn't told him about Freddy's. You would think that he would've brought it up during one of their lunch breaks.
"Wait Clyde?" The quiet kid who would always sit by himself at lunch period. How could he know about this place but not her? Granted; they only moved here about a year ago, a bit after its closing, but still; she should've heard about it through the general grape vine.
"Why hasn't anyone told us about it?"
Bobby can only shrug to his sister. "Beats me sis. From what I heard from Dave, it was once a very popular place. It's a utter mystery on why it got shut down in the first place."
"Maybe it failed health inspection or something. Perhaps they found black mold or the pizzas were cut too small."
"Maybe. But anyway; during my walk around the place. I found that the characters they used there were of course a bear, but also a bunny, a chicken with this cute little cupcake, and this cool pirate fox. Although; that sharp hook for a hand is far too dangerous for my liking."
"That's a weird combination of characters." How did a pirate fox fit with a robot band?
"So Ronnie Anne. What have you been up to last night?" Bobby then asked for he couldn't neglect on asking her share her late night activities.
"I made dinner for mom and finished Muscle Fish 5." She nonchalantly replied for it really wasn't an eventful night for her.
"That's nice to hear. Well; I better go catch some more Z's before I head off for my afternoon shift at the grocery store." Walking over to his room, Ronnie Anne is quick to notice him walking a bit funny.
"Are you okay? You look a bit hurt."
"Oh, it's nothing." He dismissed. "I just fell off the chair and landed hard on my knee. It's weird though; I felt the pain through my dream, right after that little girl with the tiara threw a rock at me."
"What?"
"It was just this weird dream with these odd, pale kids in it." He waved off as he grabbed hold of the doorknob to his room.
"That sounds like a scene straight out of a horror movie." And she'd seen several with creeps in dreams, it usually doesn't end well for the person having them, especially if the said creep had knifes for fingers.
"Oh it was just a silly dream. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about." Going into his room, Bobby leaves his sister in the hallway, who in turn hoped that she could get back to sleep before it reached ten.
The middle of the week is always the most busiest time for the supermarket, especially since today was the weekly Wednesday sale's day.
The market is filled with a large number of shoppers as they all wander around the store to get the absolute best deals. Of course with this many people currently inside the store; some of the aisles are blocked, there are near collisions with shopping carts, people snatching the last items with several arguments breaking out, and of course no busy market isn't complete without a couple of screaming toddlers and babies.
Having a good hour of sleep, right along with his leg no longer hurting. Bobby happily hummed to himself as he cleaned up a spill of grape juice at aisle four. It was hard to believe that it was already Wednesday or from the pass two days, he not only lost his job, but also gained a new one as well. Now what only laid ahead for him is his dinner date with his girlfriend and her family.
Speaking of his girlfriend. She has seen his post earlier this morning and told him on how handsome he looked in that security vest. He really wanted to tell her on where his new job is at, however she absolutely insisted that he should wait until their dinner date tommorow to give out the news. What's a better way to impress her family, than to tell them fully on his new security guard gig.
It's a very good idea in his opinion. Both her parents and sibs would be absolutely impressed that he can protect her after hearing about his security job. Lori was so smart, she thinks of everything.
"Santiago"
Standing in attention, Bobby turns to face his manager, who is currently looking at a clipboard. "Yes boss?"
"I need you to stack a paper towel display near the entrance."
"I'm on it boss." Placing a wet floor sign up, Bobby rushes off to begin stacking the display. As he goes through the store, he passes right by the snack area where Anderson, Taylor and Pablo; the notorious tough kids from Royal Woods Middle School are currently in a tough situation as they look for their favorite candy.
"I still can't believe they had the nerve to close down Roger's. That was one of the greatest clubs for teens in town." Pablo complained as he looked between a bag of Hershey's or the new apple flavored Sour Patch Kids.
"I know right! If only they didn't make the terrible mistake on buying those speakers from Flip. Of course they were going to be a fire hazard." Anderson spat bitterly. Curse that con man! It was more worse than when he sold him a cruddy cellphone charger. On the very first time he tried it, the phone wouldn't charge unless he had it in some weird, specific position and couldn't move it what so ever.
"So where are we suppose to hang out now? I don't wanna end up at the park. There are too many babies there." Taylor bitterly remarked as she picked up a king-sized Kit-Kat.
"Maybe we should create our own club." Pablo suggested.
"Our own club?" Taylor and Anderson repeated in question.
"Yeah. We can make our own rules and only allow in the coolest teens."
Thinking about it, Anderson found that it wasn't such a bad idea. They could create the greatest club in Royal Woods and make a fortune with the admission fees to get in. He could even be the owner.
"And where are we going to create this club exactly?" Taylor asked for it's not like there are many buildings open for the taking, she also really doesn't feel like building it from scratch.
"Easy. We'll just simply find an abandon building and convert it into our club and I think; I already came up with the perfect location for it."
"Which is?" Taylor pushed on.
"That old pizza place where we used to steal tokens and threw that one kid's stuff frog into a tree." Pablo very well remembered the kid's hilarious reaction when it landed on the highest branch of the tree.
Taylor and Anderson however are a bit unsettled over their friend's insane suggestion. "Are you sure that's a good idea dude? Pretty sure people don't want to go to a place where people went missing at."
"Yeah. Kind of messed up that out of all the places in town. You choose that location to make a club." Taylor added with a narrowed eye for she was there on that day when the incident happened. It was only lucky that it didn't end up being her going missing right along with those kids.
"Come on. It's only been two years. I'm sure people have completely forgotten about it by now." Pablo nonchalantly stated.
"Sure." Anderson began sarcastically. "The biggest incident to ever hit Royal Woods and everyone forgot about it." Anderson can already see the dirty looks from everyone in town if they go through with this insane plan.
"Look; it's a fairly, good sized building with a main room we can turn into a dance floor. All we have to do is make a few renovations, which means some bashing, especially to those old, lame robots that used to sing those stupid songs."
"Well; I do like bashing things." Anderson admitted.
"Great! So it's settled then." Walking off for the checkout lanes, Pablo completely ignored his friends raised fingers of objection. He was already out of the aisle, when the two sighed in defeat and fallowed him.
They were definitely going to become the town's pariah's if they actually pull this off. They might as well be vandalizing a ancient tomb.
Unaware of the newly developed, terrible plan of messing up his work space. Bobby very carefully places down the last paper towel on the pyramid shape display. Being rather proud of his hard work, Bobby slowly gets himself down from the step ladder and took a step back to have a much more clearer look at his work of art.
It's a perfect pyramid, plus by placing it in a certain arrangement, it had an awesome, cute image of a smiley face.
Coming up next to him with a critical eye of inspection, his manager nodded in satisfaction before looking back down to his clipboard. "Good work Mr. Santiago.I now need you to head on over to the back and help unload several fresh shipments out of the truck."
"Right on it sir." This would be hard work as several of those shipments can be rather heavy, but that's no prob. All he needs is a great deal of concentration and the right amount of motivation to lift up those shipments.
Going over to the back docking area. Bobby finds that half of the shipment is already out of the open trailer of the parked truck. It seems that most of the heavy stuff is unloaded, which is good for him, but he really shouldn't get too hopeful as there is most likely still several heavy stuff in there.
Heading into the trailer, he is joined by his co-worker; John Grant, who has just lifted up a full crate of apples. "Ugh! This is heavy."
Being in his way, Bobby makes sure to take a step aside in order to let him pass. He then went over and picked up a crate full of cereal and proceeded to slowly get out of the truck. It was like clockwork as they both separately went in and out of the trailer, each time Bobby placed down a crate, John picked one up, Bobby exited the trailer and John would enter it.
It took two hours and a half to fully empty out the trailer, but at last; both Bobby and John carried out the last, but largest crate. They both betted that it held fish for this one sure stank like them.
"Alright Bobby. A little to the left."
"Watch your footing. We don't want a slip up."
"Or this thing falling on our feet. Make sure that you got a good grip on this thing."
Moving to a spot where the crate will fit in perfectly, they both very carefully set the thing down. Having finally set down the large crate, they both released some held in air before leaning against the other crates for a quick breather.
"Phew! That was hard work. I tell you Bobby. Quitting time is sounding so good, the first thing I'm going to do is head on over to Burpin Burger, order BurgerZilla, then head on home for a nice relaxing nap before jumping onto the computer for some online matches in Battlefront 2."
"Sounds fun John." Wiping away some sweat from his forehead with a red rag. Bobby wondered on what he was going to have for dinner.
"So what are your plans for tonight Bobby?"
"Not much. Just going to eat dinner before heading out to my second night of my new job."
"Oh yeah. I saw that shelfie you posted earlier. You look rather snazzy in that vest."
"Thanks man. It definitely brings the blackness of my hair."
"So where is your new job exactly?" John then curiously asked.
"It's at this place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Have you heard of it?"
John thought for a second as he hasn't heard of that name in a long time. He'd only been there once because of his little brother's birthday party being held there. From what he can remember, it was a very fun place to spend a birthday party at, he even remembers getting a high score on Pacman. The only negative thing he could really say about the place was that the animatronics were a tad creepy, especially when it seemed like that bunny with the guitar was looking right at him. "Yeah. I've been there."
"Do you know why it closed down?" It would be nice to have some more information about the place for as it's new security guard. He needed to have every single detail.
"I don't really know. I was on vacation in Florida at the time. Who knows; maybe it failed health inspection or some rich guy bought it out." Checking his watch to see how much time they have left on their shift. John smiled for they only have about two more hours left, soon BurgerZilla will be his for the taking.
Bobby in the meantime, can only ponder more about Freddy's closure. How can such a popular place get shut down? It just utterly baffled him. Perhaps he would find some information on the internet later when he has the chance.
Bobby however wasn't the only pondering Santiago.
Riding along the sidewalk in a considerable speed on her skateboard. Ronnie Anne only had one person in mind and had a very good idea on where to find the said person. She had to admit that ever since Bobby told her of the apparent once popular pizzeria and the fact that apparently several kids that she knew from school have been there, yet never told her about this pizzeria.
Seriously; what was that about? Why keep her in the dark? Hopefully this person will answer her questions.
Now the person she is trying to find was Clyde McBride and although she doesn't know that much about him, she does know one important thing. He really liked antiques, she knew this fact because he came to show and tell with that cough medicine Abraham Lincoln used to have or some boring mumble jumble like that.
Anyhow; since he likes collecting antiques, Ronnie Anne can only think of one place he may currently be at. Turning a right corner, she stops in front of, "Ye Old Store Of Antiques" The largest antique shop in Royal Woods.
Peering through the window, right pass the old lamps and clocks. She spots him looking over a blue vase with red and yellow flowers painted on each side. Now that she found him, it was time for a little chat.
After making sure to firmly lock her board around on a street light. She enters the shop and went right up to Clyde, while being very careful on not knocking anything over. In truth, it always made her nervous whenever she came into one of these stores. All it took was just one slip up and then bam! Her mom has to pay a hefty bill that she might as well get a second job just to pay it.
Not noticing her approach, Clyde leaned forward with a much more closer observation. "Fascinating. You can tell this is fined crafted at around the early 20th century. I say at about 1901."
"Yo McBride!"
Jumping in surprise, Clyde accidentally bumps against the vase, sending it wobbling and would've fallen, if it weren't for Clyde's fast reflexes on grabbing it by the side in the nick of time before carefully steadying it back up to it's original position. Relieved that he just managed to save it in time, Clyde eases himself up before turning to address Ronnie Anne in surprise.
"What are you doing here Ronnie Anne? I thought you didn't like these types of stores." It's as surprising as seeing one of the mortician club members in a Build A Bear.
"I don't. Believe me, I'm getting more nervous on bumping into something expensive, but I have something that I need to ask you about."
"What's that?" He asked curiously for it wasn't very often Ronnie Anne of all people would ask him something. She barely even talks to him, really the only time they ever interacted with each other was when Mrs. Johnson had them do that egg project.
From that project. He learned that she did have a gentle, nurturing side and she learned that he has a great talent for baking. Those cream puffs she ate were stuff made by an angel, but she better not tell her abuela that or else she might get jealous.
"Follow me outside and I'll explain. I can't stand being in here much longer." She was just way too close to these expensive items.
"Sure." Following her back outside of the shop. Ronnie Anne leans herself against the street light for now it's finally time to start asking the question.
"So my brother recently gotten a brand new job and saw you on a training tape." She began.
"Me? On a training tape? I don't remember participating in a training tape." Was Flip filming him in secret? Did he look good on this tape? Oh man! He really hoped that he didn't do anything really embarrassing on it.
"Yeah. It was at this place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza or something like that. I'm just wondering why no one has told me about this place?"
Suddenly going stiff with his pupils shrinking, Clyde felt his spirit leave his body after hearing that cursed name. "Wait? Where did you say your brother was working at?"
"At Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. You know; one of those animatronic, pizza restaurants."
"That's what I thought you said. Excuse me for a second." Pulling out his plastic bag, Clyde instinctively uses it to breathe in and out in order to prevent an incoming panic attack. Ronnie Anne in the meantime watched on in concern for she hasn't seen him this panic other than the time when he had to blow up some balloons during clowning 101 in school.
"Are you feeling okay McBride?"
Pulling out of the bag, it took a second or two for him to completely regain control of his breathing and his vocal skills. "I'm fine. It's just. Well, it's just that name brought back a few bad memories that I fought to burry for the pass two years."
"Bad memories? What sort of bad memories can you possibly get from a place like that?" Thinking a bit, Ronnie Anne did come up with one possible answer. "Did you get pink eye from a ball pit. I heard those things are pink eye magnets."
"No. It's not that. Besides; that ball pit was rather kept up on being cleaned on a regular daily basis."
"Oh. Then I'm guessing you had a traumatic experience with one of those robots on stage."
"No. They were actually very entertaining to watch. They definitely beat Spunky's on life like animatronics." Clyde claimed with a bit of a nostalgic smile over the memory of watching the band play on stage.
"Okay. So what exactly happened?" This is just becoming even more mysterious and it left Ronnie Anne with even more determination on cracking it.
"Oh right. You weren't here when it happened." Clyde recalled.
"When what happened?" Ronnie Anne persisted.
"My best friend Lincoln, right along with four of his sisters went missing there." He sadly replied for his friend and his sisters was just so young.
Completely shocked by this revelation, Ronnie Anne had to make absolutely sure that she heard that right. "Um, what?"
"One day. Lincoln and his family went there for a nice family outing. It completely helped that his dad was the owner, so they could go in there whenever they like. They were all having a great time, until someone in a mascot costume lured both Lincoln and some of his sisters into the backroom. After that. No one ever saw them again." Looking back; Clyde can still remember the news report: police tape blocking the entrance, red and blue lights from police cruisers overlaying the sign, and the broken family with Lincoln's remaining sisters looking extremely worried with some leaking mascara from their eyes, while both of their parents are crying in hysterics over their missing kids. Heck. He was crying hysterically over the sudden disappearance of his best friend.
"Hold the phone. Your saying that some creep murdered your friend right along with his sisters." That was something she didn't think of. Now she can see why the place was shut down for who in the world would want to bring their kids to a place where the owner's kids went missing?!
"No one found any bodies, but everyone knows that they were."
"Wait. So was this creep arrested?" She really hoped that he got the chair for a monster like that deserved it for not only killing one, but five kids in all. You have to be such a cruel, sadistic monster to do such a thing.
"There was a suspect, but due to any lack of evidence. He wasn't convicted of any crimes." Clyde stated.
"So this monster is walking free?!" That was a comforting thought.
"Yes, but hopefully justice will come for him after what he did to both Lincoln and his sisters." Clyde may be one of the most kindest kid in town, but there is no love for the man behind the slaughter. He actually hoped that he is rotting away in prison in some other state or country, heck another planet in a distant galaxy would be better.
For Ronnie Anne however. She is still very much processing on this whole mind-blowing information Clyde had just given her. So much so, she leans back further against the pole with one hand on her forehead and the other one slipping down to her side. "Oh man. Let me get this straight. My brother is currently working at a place where five kids were murdered in."
"I hate to say it, but yes and I guarantee you that it's haunted." He remarked with a slight shiver.
"You really think it's haunted?" Ronnie Anne asked in slight disbelief.
"If there was any place in town that is haunted. It'll definitely be there. Anyway Ronnie Anne this is making me very uncomfortable, if you don't mind. I would really like to get back to looking at more antiques."
"Sure go ahead." She dismissed. Watching him go back into the store, she is left pondering on weathering or not to tell Bobby that he was working in a place where children went mysteriously missing at.
Sure; she really doesn't believe in ghosts, but it's still creepy none of the less and she certainly wouldn't want to be working there after learning the horrific, but tragic backstory.
"Maybe I can talk to him before he leaves tonight." She would have to be fast though.
