A hypnotic mystery
Lincoln and his friends entered a town confused.
"So, what's this town called?" Clyde asked.
Looking at a travel guidebook," hmm, it said it's called hop hop hop town," Brock replied confused.
"Hop, hop, hop?" the crew said confused.
"Who came up with that name?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"I don't know, but I do know that Luan will get a kick out of it," Lincoln replied.
Suddenly a woman comes to them," excuse me, have you seen my son Arnold?" the woman asked.
"Sorry, we just entered the town," Bobby replied.
"Oh, I'm sorry, it's just that my son's been missing for 3 days," the lady said.
"3 days?!" the group asked.
"Yes, and he's not the only one," Teen Jenny said walking up to them.
"Jenny," the group said as brock hugs her.
Later, Teen jenny shows posters of missing children on a wall," for the past 3 days, these kids disappeared and we're trying to figure out why," Teen Jenny said." so, I've been helping my aunt out."
"Why don't we help too," Brock offered.
"Good idea," Bobby said." these mothers are really worried about them."
"that's true, so everyone it's time for operation find the lost kids, find culprit responsible and save the day and think of a shorter name for this operation," Lincoln said.
"Thanks guys," Teen Jenny said.
as they asked other children and adults if they've seen or know the missing children.
"Sorry, I never met him," a little boy said.
"I sometimes see her shopping with her mother," a woman said.
"haven't seen the boy since he helped me with my groceries 3 days ago," an old woman said.
"Did you see anyone suspicious around looking at the children?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"Nope no one suspicious," a man replied.
"We would know if we saw someone like that," the man's wife added.
the group came together," so far, no clues," Clyde said.
"Hey guys, someone did say something about waves," Bobby said.
"Waves?" Misty asked as Jenny was looking at a device in her hand making Clyde notice.
Suddenly, Pikachu and Eevee started dosing off," hey, you two, ok?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"let's get them to the Pokémon center!" Lincoln said.
As they enter the Pokémon center, they meet up with Teen Joy helping passed out Pokémon.
"I'm really glad to see you all again, but I'm trying to help my aunt with these Pokémon," Teen Joy said." even this Pokémon (pointing at a yellow duck Pokémon).
Clyde pulls out his pokedex and points at the Pokémon.
"Psyduck, the duck Pokémon, a water type, it uses the mysterious power of its mind to hypnotize its enemy with an empty stare, when its headaches get superstrong and its mind is about to burst, it lets loose and overload a mental energy. aside from this Psyduck can be clumsy on land," the pokedex explained.
"Wow, that's some Pokémon, I bet its trainer is worried about it," Clyde said.
"Actually, it doesn't have a trainer, it used to until it was abandoned for not having the patients with it," Joy said.
"Talk about selfish," Misty said.
"How long has this been happening?" Brock asked.
"it's been happening for 3 days," Teen Joy replied.
"You mean the same time as the children disappearing?" Lincoln asked.
"Yes," Teen joy replied.
Suddenly Teen Jenny's device started making noise.
"What is that?" Clyde asked." I saw you with it before."
"it's my detector," Teen Jenny replied.
"What kind?" Bobby asked.
"I bet it's a handsome guy detector," Brock said.
"If it was, Joy and I would've found you a long time ago," Teen Jenny said." but truthfully, this is my wave detector."
"You mean the waves that Bobby mentioned?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah, to be honest, people mentioned these waves long before the children disappeared and the Pokémon getting drowsy," Teen Jenny replied.
"Then let's go find the source of the way," Bobby said." besides maybe this wave is responsible for the children and Pokémon."
"Bobby may have a point," Lincoln said.
The group help Teen Jenny look around town trying to find the source of the wave, so far nothing until they found it.
"We found it!" Teen Jenny said.
"Where?" Brock asked.
"On the top of this building," Teen Jenny replied making everyone look up being surprised on how tall the building is.
"WOW, this is the tallest building ever!" Clyde said.
"I'll say," Bobby said.
"Ok, let's go in!" Ronnie Anne said.
the group enter the building and head to the elevator and head to the top floor.
"Wow, you can practically touch the clouds up here," Bobby said.
"Just don't look down," Misty said.
"Look a door," Brock said.
Lincoln heads towards a door, thus he and Clyde barge in, inside they see two psychic Pokémon and fancy people inside.
"Excuse me! but this is an exclusive club!" the gentleman said.
"we're sorry sir, we're trying to find the source of these waves," Teen Jenny said walking in.
"Oh, you mean the sleep waves," the gentleman said.
"You know about them?" Lincoln asked." and what club is this?"
"Yes, and to answer your question, this club is for those who need help sleeping, this town can be rowdy at night thus some of us can't sleep," the gentleman replied.
"couldn't you use earplugs?" Clyde asked.
"At first we did but it didn't work, thus my Pokémon helped me, and my friends sleep," the gentleman replied.
Lincoln pulls out dexter and pointed at the two Pokémon.
"Drowzee, the hypnotic Pokémon, a psychic type, Drowzee can put others to sleep and eat their dreams, but only good dreams because bad dreams make them sick," dexter explained.
"Hypno, the hypnotic Pokémon and the evolved for of Drowzee, Hypno carries a special pendent to hypnotize and emit sleep waves," dexter explained.
"So, how long has Hypno been helping you guys' sleep?" Lincoln asked.
"For about 3 days," the gentleman asked.
"That explains it!" Clyde said.
"What do you mean?" the gentleman said.
"For the pass 3 days, children have gotten missing, and Pokémon are getting drowsy," Clyde replied.
"that's nonsense," the gentleman said.
"What if Clyde is right?" misty asked as she gets closer to Hypno.
Hypno starts swinging its pendent back and forth, causing misty to get sleep then suddenly started acting like a seel.
"Wow, she's a seel now," Brock said.
Suddenly Misty gets up and starts running out the building.
"where's she going?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"No idea but let's follow her," Lincoln said.
the group along with Teen Jenny and the gentleman follow misty into a forest, as they appear there, they find her along with the missing children acting like Pokémon.
"These are all the missing children!" Teen Jenny said.
"On the bright side, they weren't kidnapped," Bobby said.
"I guess the sleep wave spreaded around town that it effected the children and Pokémon," Lincoln said.
"I can't believe that my sleep wave caused this," the gentleman said feeling guilty.
"Hey, don't be upset, you didn't know thus you did nothing wrong," Lincoln said.
"you're right, I'll think of another way to help me and my friends," the gentleman said.
"that's good to hear, now can Hypno undo what he did?" Clyde asked.
"Afraid not, but Drowzee can," the gentleman replied.
the group takes misty back to the club.
"let's hope this works," Bobby said.
Drowzee uses is psychic move and undid Hypno's trance turning her back to normal.
"Huh? what happened?" Misty asked.
"You got hypnotized and helped us find the missing children," Ronnie Anne replied.
Drowzee was brought to the forest and started waking up the kids along with Pikachu and Eevee.
"What happened?" a little boy asked.
"I don't know," a little girl replied.
"You kids kind of got hypnotized by sleep waves," Teen Jenny explained." i already informed your parents and are on their way."
"Arnold!" the lady from before appeared."
"Mom!" Arnold said hugging his mother.
everyone goes home after Drowzee wakes up the Pokémon at Pokémon center, while the group head back to the club.
"You know, Hypno could use the sleep waves only on you and your friends, that way no children or Pokémon will be effected," Lincoln said.
"Good idea, besides Hypno evolved 3 days ago," the gentleman said surprising everyone.
"Maybe, its best to train it when Drowzee evolves," Bobby said.
"Guys thanks for the help I really appreciate it," Teen Jenny said.
"No problem," Lincoln said." well, we better get going."
"Ok see you guys later," Teen Jenny said.
as the group got on their bikes, the Psyduck from the Pokémon center appeared.
"Hey, it's that psyduck," Lincoln said.
"what's it doing here?" Clyde asked as his pokeball falls out of his pocket.
Psyduck touches the pokeball and got sucked in and the ball clicked.
"Whoa Clyde you got a new Pokémon," Bobby said.
"Wow, talk about lucky," Clyde said.
"I'll say, come on let's go to Saffron city," Lincoln said.
"Yeah," the group said as Clyde grabbed his ball and the others rode their bikes.
In Saffron City a black car drove up to the Silth co. building along with a van and Giovanni came out of the car.
"you're meeting is prepared sir," proton said.
"Good, did you bring them as well?" Giovanni asked.
"of course, sir, they're right in the van, since we lost the other Pokémon from our headquarters," Proton replied as the van shakes a bit.
"Excellent, once we get the company to make them for team rocket no one can stop us," Giovanni said grinning.
That's chapter 56, next chapter will have Lincoln face Giovanni again, what is Giovanni after at this building and who are the mysterious caged Pokémon brought with him.
