Leo began to narrate about the aftermath of the end of the Triceraton invasion and how he and the Turtles managed to stop the Black Hole Generator. "It's been weeks since we saved Earth and stopped the Black Hole Generator. Things have finally been cooling down. No more Triceratons. No more Kraang. And best of all, no more Shredder and his goons. They've completely disappeared from the city. So tonight, the night of the full moon, Master Splinter is performing a very special initiation."

At the dojo in the sewer lair, Master Splinter is indeed performing a very special initiation. April O'Neil is becoming an official Kunoichi of the Hamato Clan. The Turtles, Casey Jones, Suki and Kaito are present in this ceremony.

Master Splinter spoke to April in Japanese about becoming a Kunoichi and then offers her a new tanto blade. "This tanto represents the Dragon: Strong, fierce, intelligent. A dragon not only relies on its physical strength, but it's keen intellect as well."

April looks at the tanto blade before she bows and thanks Master Splinter in Japanese. "Arigato gozaimasu."

"Be at one in spirit and body," Master Splinter continued. "Be like the dragon."

"Hai sensei," April nodded.

"April O'Neil, you are now a Kunoichi of the Hamato Clan," Master Splinter said, concluding the ceremony.

The Turtles cheered as Suki walked over to April. "You did it, O'Neil!"

"Oh, yeah! Celebration time!" Mikey cheered.

Raph smiled. "Congrats, April."

"You deserve it," Leo said to April.

"You did great," Donnie said with a smile.

"Thanks, guys!" April said as she hugs Donnie. "You're the best!"

Kaito smiled as he watched the Turtles and Casey cheer for April and then looks at Master Splinter. "I must say, Hamato Yoshi. April did well with her training. Your father and Tang Shen would be very proud."

As Master Splinter smiled back, Suki smiled at April. "Good luck on your first day of being a Kunoichi. Father and I will stay at the dojo with Uncle Yoshi. If there's something wrong, don't hesitate to call."

Out on the rooftops at New York City, April was out on patrol with the Turtles, feeling happy. "Oh, man, remember when I had a hard time keeping up with you guys? Can't believe I'm finally a full-fledged ninja."

Raph spoke up. "Sure, you made it to the third dan, but there's still seven more grades, each with different levels, so..."

"Don't rain on her ninja parade, Raph," Donnie said, sounding angry. Then he turned to April. "It's amazing you made it to Kunoichi, April. Ignore everything Raph just said."

"Yeah, I always do," Mikey said, annoying Raph by bumping him. "Makes life way simpler."

As Raph gives Mikey a noogie, Leo spoke up. "Come on, ninjas. Let's call it a night."

As the Turtles continue on with the patrol, April could sense someone keeping a close eye on her and the others. She knew there could be trouble.

"City's quiet," Leo said. "For now."

Raph had to agree. "I'm sure that'll change soon. With Shredder gone, there's gonna be a ton of gangsters and super villains moving in on his turf."

Donnie looked at April who had a strange feeling. "You okay, April? What's wrong?"

April looked around. "I'm pretty certain someone is following us."

Then they looked and noticed a black cat with glowing eyes, much to their surprise. Would a black cat be keeping a close watch on the turtles and April.

Mikey looked at the cat. "Aww, look at you! Coochie woochie woochie!"

Donnie watched the cat vanish and the fog started to appear. "Okay, this is weird."

Mikey noticed a strange figure pass by and laughing. "Um, hello?"

The strange figure revealed herself as bats flew past her and she walks up to the Turtles and April. "Let's play a game. Give me one of your weapons or I'll take something precious. Your shells."

Raph tried to attack the stranger. "All right, sister, play time's over."

The stranger knocked Raph out and turns her attention to the other Turtles and April, introducing herself. "My name is Shinigami. Do you know what my name means?" She attacks them but gets knocked back, revealing her face. "I can't believe you'd hit a lady."

Mikey groans as he stands up and looks at Shinigami, gasping as he becomes love struck.

Shinigami giggled as she approached Mikey. "So you really are real, living, breathing Kappa. So cute." She then lassoed him with a her chain.

Mikey was mesmerized by Shinigami's beauty. "You ain't so bad yourself." He then gets knocked out with Leo and Raph.

Shinigami then turns to April. "My sensei doesn't need a Turtle weapon. Your tessen will do just fine."

April pulled both her tessen and her tanto blade out. "You're gonna have to get it from me, witch."

Shinigami smirked as she fights April with her crescent blades until she steals the dragon tanto blade. "A dragon tanto? You must have just become a Kunoichi. This will do nicely." Then she bids her and the Turtles farewell in Japanese as she vanishes.

Raph was so annoyed. "I can't believe that crazy girl took us to school on a Sunday!"

"She just threw us off," Leo agreed. "Now we know her tricks."

Mikey smiled. "I don't know, she was pretty awesome."

"Yeah, awesome," April frowned.

Soon after returning to the lair, Suki couldn't believe what April had mentioned. "So you lost your new weapon even after…"

"I know right?" April said. "I mean, getting my butt kicked the night I become a Kunoichi. It's like the whole universe is saying it's not meant to be."

"That is not the universe speaking," Master Splinter replied. "That is the self-doubt of April O'Neil speaking."

Leo sat next to April and frowned. "I've been there, April. Doubting everything, it's poison. Believe in yourself."

April looked down. "I just feel like a failure."

Suki shook her head. "My father and uncle Splinter once told me, "There is no such thing as failure until you give up. That is when you fail.""

April sighed. "Thank you, Suki."

Master Splinter continued speaking before he nibbles on his cheesicle. "You must uncover the identity and allegiance of this new assassin. Claiming your weapon as a prize, that is an initiation into a ninja clan. Be warned. It seems this new assassin may be working for the Shredder."

At the lab, Donnie was looking up on his computer. "Hmm, I'm not coming up with anyone called Shinigami in any of the international crime databases."

"You got anything at all, Donnie?" Leo asked.

Donnie showed the others a book. "Well, the Shinigami are powerful gods in Japanese myth that bring death and destruction."

"So we got something in common," Raph remarked.

"This girl is super cute, guys," Mikey said, commenting about Shinigami. "Maybe we could turn her to the light side."

"I don't know about that, Michelangelo," Suki said. "We gotta find her first."

"Suki's right," Leo said. "Let's split up and see if we can track her. Maybe we can draw her out."

Out on the streets of New York City, Suki is inside the Party Wagon with Leo driving. "No sign of any activity."

"Got anything, Donnie?" Leo contacted Donnie, using his T-Phone.

Donnie was on the Channel 6 building, looking around. "Still searching. Nothing so far. Got anything, Raph?"

Raph was inside the Shellraiser. "I got nada. Streets are clean. What do you got, Mikey?"

At the docks, Mikey was eating pizza at the docks. "Mmm. I got pizza. Mmm, mmm. What about you, April?" He then tried to get a hold of April but there was no response. "April?"

Elsewhere, April saw Shinigami heading towards Shredder's old headquarters and had to contact the Turtles and Suki at once. "Leo, Suki, I just spotted Shinigami. I had a weird vibe that something was happening at Shredder's old lair."

"Shredder's back?" Leo said, looking shocked.

"But that's impossible," Suki said. "His lair was abandoned after he and the Foot vanished."

"Not anymore," April said. "Call the rest of the guys."

"Don't do anything until we get there," Leo ordered.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence," April said as she hangs up her T-Phone and enters Shredder's old lair. Then she notice a strange figure wearing the Kuro Kabuto. "Is that Shredder?" Finally, April watched as the figure stand up revealing herself to be Karai, much to her shock. "Karai."

Shinigami approached Karai and holding out April's new tanto blade. "Karai, I bring you the red-haired girl's tanto blade."

Karai takes the blade and looks at it. "So Splinter finally made April a Kunoichi? Kind of a shock."

April saw that May was with both Karai and Shinigami. "My cousin's here too?"

May looks at the tanto blade and Karai. "And now she's part of Splinter's clan. All the training she's been going through has been paid off."

"Indeed," Shinigami said as she turns to Karai. "But still… she seems so frail and clumsy when you first look at her. Like a silly red bird."

April jumps down to confront Karai. "Well, this Kunoichi tracked your butt down, Karai. What're you and my cousin doing, anyway?"

"None of your business," Karai replied. "Just go."

Just then, the Turtles and Suki arrived before Karai tries to kick April out. "We'd like to know what's going on here too," Leo said.

Karai was surprised to see Leo. "Leo, calm down. The brain worm that was controlling me is gone. I'm not your enemy."

"Huh. That's why we couldn't look for you," Suki remarked. "You had to get rid of the brain worm."

"So then why did your crazy friend attack us?" Raph asked.

"It was only a test to see her skills," May said.

"May's right," Karai agreed. "Shinigami's an old friend from Japan. She was never gonna hurt you."

Shinigami agreed. "At least not permanently."

April used her psychic powers to read into Karai's mind. "She's telling the truth. That brain worm thing is gone. They're not after us. They're after—"

"Shredder," Donnie finished.

Raph noticed that Karai was wearing the Kuro Kabuto. "So what's up with the headgear, Princess? Daddy issues?"

"How many times do I have to tell you, Raph?" Suki said, looking annoyed. "She's Hamato Yoshi's daughter."

Karai took off the helmet as she starts explaining her goal. "I wanna rebuild the Foot. Bring back honor to a clan that Shredder poisoned for almost two decades. And when I finish, I'll destroy Oroku Saki and his empire once and for all."

Mikey frowned. "Life isn't about revenge, sis. Come back to the lair with us. Master Splinter would love to see you."

Karai shook her head. "No. I have to carve out my own destiny."

"Fine, we're leaving," Donnie said.

"Your loss," Suki said as she and the turtles start to leave but stopped to look at April. "Come on, April."

April still needed her new weapon back. "First, I want my tanto back. Now."

May looks at Karai. "Uhhhh, Karai, my cousin still needs her weapon back."

Karai smirked at April. "If you want it back, take it from her. I mean, shouldn't be hard for a Kunoichi, right?"

"Fine by me," April said, smirking back. "I wanted a rematch anyway."

May sighs as she watched Shinigami grabbing the dragon tanto blade and walks towards April. "Go easy on my baby cousin. You do not want to get on her bad side."

April began fighting Shinigami as she tries to get her tanto blade back but she gets knocked down.

Donnie tries to intervene. "I'm stopping this ri—"

Raph stopped Donnie for a moment. "Let her fight her own battles."

April's Aeon crystal started glowing as she used her powers angrily to attack Shinigami who dodges and then fights back by knocking her down.

Shinigami chortled. "Little red bird."

Karai saw how angry April is and instantly stopped the fight. "All right, that's enough, Shini. Give her the tanto back."

As Shinigami dropped the tanto blade, April grabbed it and prepares to attack them as the Aeon crystal was still glowing.

Donnie stopped April from harming Shinigami. "Easy, April. Don't let that weirdo get to you. Calm down."

May smiled. "The turtle's right. Don't let your anger get the better of you. I'll go and talk to her. Oh, and while you and the Turtles head home, tell Casey Jones I said hi and to text me back if you see him."

Suki scoffs as she teases May who blushes furiously. "So you're still into Jones?"

Mikey starts to leave with his brothers, Suki and April. "Come on, this place is lame anyway. We're going to an awesome place. The sewers! Booyakasha."

May walked up to Shinigami who stuck her tongue at Mikey. "I told you not to get on her bad side!" While she was scolding her, she was unaware that a Footbot kept a close watch.

After returning to the sewer lair, Leo and Suki explained to Master Splinter and Hamato Kaito about Karai's plan to take down Shredder. "Not only that, she's taken over Shredder's old lair."

"Plus, she's even wearing a version of the Kuro Kabuto," Suki finished.

Kaito looked at Splinter. "This is most disconcerting, Hamato Yoshi, but your daughter's choices are her own."

"I know," Splinter sighed, thinking about Karai. Then he turned to April who looks down at her tanto blade. "April? What troubles you?"

"I think I'm pretty much ready to revoke the Kunoichi title, Sensei," April replied. "Maybe I need more training."

Master Splinter had an idea of teaching April a special move. "Come. Perhaps it is time I taught you an advanced move called "The Dragon's Tail.""

April nodded as she followed Splinter into the dojo. "I'll try anything."

Mikey puts on the TV. "Dudes, you know what time it is, right? Time for some Chris Bradford. Boy!" He began watching the Chris Bradford's 2 Ruff Crew show.

Meanwhile at the city, Tiger Claw was leading Bebop, Rocksteady, Fishface and Rahzar in following Karai, May and Shinigami.

"Is she still one of us, Tiger Claw?" Fishface asked.

Tiger Claw sniffed while she was observing Karai. "No. The brain worm is gone."

Bebop was watching Karai, May and Shinigami enter the martial arts store. "Check it out, baby Ivan. She's entering the martial arts store."

"Da," Rocksteady said, in a very accurate Russian accent. "Is she trying to get ninja weapons?"

"It's a front," Rahzar said to Bebop and Rocksteady. "We store tons of illegal weapons in the back."

"She is here to raid us," Tiger Claw told them. "The little cub has claws." After entering the martial arts store, he noticed that Karai has turned off the lights. "Foolish child, I can still see in the dark."

"So can I," Rahzar said.

"And I've got goggles," Bebop said.

"I don't, so this is kind of upsetting," Fishface frowned.

Karai was handing and spoke, "Tell your master I'm taking the city back, Tiger Claw. Piece by piece."

Rahzar growled as he went to find Karai. "Where'd she go?"

Tiger Claw readied his blaster, unaware that Karai had lassoed Fishface and making Rahzar go and try to save him and May distracting Bebop and Rocksteady by whistling sounds. Then he turns to see Shinigami and points his blaster at her.

Shinigami pulls out a Hypno Stone. "Here kitty, kitty, kitty."

"What's this?" Tiger Claw watched as Shinigami swings the Hypno Stone back and forth and then gets hypnotized by it. Until, he gets attacked by her and attempts to fight back.

Shinigami fights Tiger Claw and reveals her claws. "I have claws too!" She continues to attack until she gets knocked out.

Bebop manages to stun May with his hip lasers and stops Rocksteady for a moment. "She ain't hurt, dawg. My hip lasers are still set to stun. Let's wait for TC and the others to be done."

Rahzar was fighting Karai after Fishface was chained. "I like you, Karai. Let me finish you quick. Tiger Claw won't make things so easy for you."

"Whatever, Bradford. I plan on taking you all down." Karai was prepared to fight Rahzar but Tiger Claw, Bebop and Rocksteady managed to stop her after knocking down Shinigami and May.

"Karai!" Tiger Claw shouted.

Karai noticed her friends knocked out. "No, Shini! May!"

"Surrender," Tiger Claw demanded. "Now."

Karai knew she had no choice and dropped her weapon. "You win, Tiger Claw." Secretly, she managed to text Leo with her phone.

Meanwhile at the sewer lair, Leo received a text as he picked up his T-Phone to surprise everyone. "It's a text from Karai. And it's just one word: "Help.""

Back at the martial arts store, Fishface was looking at Karai, Shinigami and May who are chained to the ceiling. "So now that we have them, what should we do with them?"

Bebop shrugged. "I don't know, fish dude. You tell me."

"I vote eat them," Rahzar said. "You can never go wrong with eating them."

"Nyet, comrade, we squish them," Rocksteady argued. "I like the squishing. Humans taste like meat."

Tiger Claw stopped the argument as he walked up to the others. "No! We wait for their friends. Karai called the Turtles minutes ago."

Karai was surprised. "You knew all along?"

"Do you take me for a fool?" Tiger Claw glared at Karai as he took her phone out and destroys it. "There is no help for you."

"Where is Shredder?" Karai asked angrily. "Where is that coward hiding?"

"You do not get to make demands, girl," Fishface snapped.

"Oh no," Karai said as she broke free.

"Ay caramba," Fishface gasped as he gets knocked out.

"Clever girl. But cleverness only gets you so far." Tiger Claw smirked as he tries to attack Karai.

"Take that brat down, Tiger Claw," Rahzar said as he watched Tiger Claw fighting Karai.

"Squish her like she's yellow banana!" Rocksteady agreed.

Tiger Claw managed to overpower Karai and grabbed her by the arm. "I always thought you were a spoiled, petulant child. This world will not mourn you when you are gone."

"Tiger Claw!" Mikey manages to throw a ninja star at Tiger Claw, giving Karai the opportunity to punch his face.

Karai was impressed that the Turtles, April, Casey and Suki arrived. "Always have to wait till the last minute, guys?"

"Well, yeah, dudette," Casey said. "Red told me to text May back. Her cousin is still in to him."

"Alright, Tiger Claw," Suki said. "Why are you back? You and the Foot are supposed to leave the city after both my uncle and my father defeated Shredder."

"We will never leave until you, your father and Splinter are put to rest," Tiger Claw snapped back at Suki.

"Team, take 'em down," Leo said as they all charge and fight Tiger Claw and his allies.

Shinigami woke up and was freed by Mikey who was fighting Rahzar. Then she fought as well and lassoed Rahzar with Mikey.

"Got you, Rahzar," Mikey said.

"Let's play "walk the dog"!" Shinigami shouted.

Mikey smiled at Shini, much to her annoyance. "Whoa, that's exactly what I was gonna say. We're, like, so similar, Shinigami."

As the fighting continues, Donnie, Casey and May are fighting Fishface, Rocksteady and Bebop.

Bebop gets hit by April's tessen. "Ow! Who threw that?"

April catches her tessen and then twirls her dragon tanto blade. "Back off, Bebop!"

Bebop laughs as he starts shooting lasers from his belt while fighting April. "Ninja please!" He turns invisible and then attacks her from behind.

Fishface catches May by surprise, much to Casey's anger. "Call me what you will. I am the most interesting fish in the world." He then tossed May onto Casey.

Raph charges towards Rocksteady. "You're nothing but a rhino that gets steamed up, Rocksteady!"

Leo, Suki and Karai were fighting Tiger Claw, then Karai manages to use her snake arms to attack him but was soon overpowered.

Tiger Claw aims his blaster at Leo and Suki. "You are beaten. Your shell and your skull will hang in our new lair as trophies."

"I don't think so," April said as she threw a smokebomb at Tiger Claw's face and kicks him on the private area, much to everyone's surprise.

"Whoa," May gasped. "Did my cousin just…?"

Donnie was amazed. "Wow, The Dragon Tail. Right in the fur patch."

Mikey threw a smokebomb to make his and everyone's disappearance. "Booyakasha!"

Rahzar was annoyed by the smokebombs. "I hate it when they do that."

Rocksteady hears beeping sounds. "Listen. You hear that?"

Fishface looks around to see detonators everywhere. "Um, we are in trouble."

"Run!" Tiger Claw cried as he, Fishface, Rahzar, Bebop and Rocksteady rushed towards the elevator but gets stuck. "Oh, no." The building explodes, alerting the police.

Back at the sewer lair, Karai bows respectfully to April with Shinigami. "April. Shini and I want to apologize. Sorry about earlier."

Master Splinter and Hamato Kaito came to see Karai. "Miwa."

Karai looks at Splinter and Kaito. "Father. Uncle Kaito."

"Do not take on this burden of fighting the Shredder alone," Master Spliner warned.

"Please listen to your father," Kaito said to his niece. "Ally yourself with your family. Let us help you."

"I've grown up, both," Karai said, declining their offer. "I need to rectify all the wrong deeds Shredder has done my own way."

Suki frowned. "You are only seeking vengeance, cousin. This anger you carry was inherited from Oroku Saki, not from uncle Yoshi."

"I know," Karai replied as she turns to Splinter. "Don't worry, Father. I'll make you proud of me. Soon."

Master Splinter watched as Karai leaves with Shinigami. "I am already proud of you, my daughter."

"Don't worry about her, Yoshi-San," Kaito smiled. "She'll come around and she might need your help eventually."

May looks at April. "Well, goodbye, cousin. If you need me, you know where to find me." She started walking away, following Karai and Shinigami.

Master Splinter approached April and smiled. "April. You have proven yourself a true Kunoichi. I always knew you had the Dragon Spirit, and apparently the Dragon's Tail as well."

April smiled back and hugged Master Splinter. "It's all thanks to you, Sensei."

As Master Splinter hugged April back, Raph spoke up. "So what now? We know Shredder's still out there."

Suki sighs. "I don't know, Raphael." She looks at Leo with worry. "What do you think, Leonardo?"

Leo thought about it and looks up. "I have a bad feeling things are about to take a turn for the worse."

Elsewhere at the woods, Tiger Claw came into a mansion and bows to the Shredder who was laying in bed, still injured from his battle with Splinter and Kaito and under the care of Stockman-Fly. "I don't know if you can hear me, Master, but Karai, she is trying to take control of the city, undo everything we have accomplished. She just destroyed our weapons cache, and I believe she's not going to stop there."

Shredder breathed and spoke, "If it is a war she wants it is a war she will get."

Stockman-Fly brought an I.V. loaded with mutagen and hooks it up to the Shredder's arm. And what will become of the Shredder? No one knows as the mutagen course through his body and takes effect on him.
