Dark. It was a word that would describe the area that a suit of armor was currently flying through on a bow shaped glider. The armor itself had the main colors of blue, purple, silver, gray, and black. The armor had a few additions to it, a breastplate that held a upside down moon cresent with a dark visored helmet. She wore a helmet that had two prongs on either side. The person was heading towards what looked like to be nowhere but empty space. However, they knew where to go despite being surrounded in darkness.

'I have to get to Masted Yen Sid's place.' They thought.

The person on the glider could see a shining light in the distance. It grew brighter as they slowly got closer to the light. The Person on the glider would have continued onwards noticing that the light wasn't their destination. How did they know it wasn't their destination because once they had gotten closer. The world was trapped within a barrier of light and the world within the barrier looked like something inside a snow globe. The world had a small village on the outskirts of a larger city. It looked peaceful and the figure was happy that a world wasn't being ravaged by the Unversed. Though, they celebrated too early as several Unversed flew right through the barrier. The armored individual had no choice but to dive right into the world.

A nine year old boy had been laying unconscious as bruises littered his body. His wooden color hair was littered with a bunch of dirt, mud, and several leaves. His clothes were covered in various stains. The boy's dark green shirt would be left in a unclean state thanks to those stains. His shorts weren't looking any better as the tan color shorts were tattered and left with stains. His shoes were the only article of clothing that seemed to be in any stable condition. The black color shoes weren't as beat up as the clothing on the boy's back. Yet, they still shown some wear and tear. His eye lids open to reveal his iris color, a healthy sea-green.

'Where...am...I?' The boy thought.

All he remembered was his parents clinging onto him. The wind had been too strong as it yanked him from their arms. Screams from both sides. That's the last he remembered and now he was in a forest. The already distressed child couldn't get himself together at all. This was too much for him to handle. He was lost, alone, and scared. The boy looked forward only to see three dots on the forest floor. They looked like shadows but no one was visible to him. When he looked at them. The three dots rushed forward at him as if taking notice that he had looked at them. The frightened child became even more scared. Once the three shadow's got close to him. Three creatures that looked like huge rats that stood on hind legs with triangular faces were ready to attack him. The three creatures lunged forward while the child released a cry as he used his hands to shield his face while closing his eyes. He didn't feel pain after a second and when he opened his eyes. He saw someone standing in front of him. The rat like creatures with dark blue skin were all on the ground. The boy watched as each one disappeared into a puff of smoke. The person in armor looked at him from within the helmet. The armor disappeared in thin air to reveal a young woman. She had blue color hair that only went down to her neck. Her blue color eyes showed nothing but worry. The female had on a black and blue, high-collared halter top, two pink, intersecting belts over her chest, and black shorts. She had a silver color badge on her intersecting pink belts. The female arms were covered in white bell-sleeves meanwhile, her hands were housed in tan fingerless gloves. A small amount of armor on her upper arms. Her legs would be covered in black stockings that left some space in between her shorts and where the stocking had ended uncovered. She had two blue color clothes acting as a decorations of sorts to her outfit that hanged on each side of her hips. A white strip of cloth was tied around her waist. Finally, she had silver color armored boots.

"You're hurt." She spoke.

The woman rushed to his side. The boy watched as the woman aimed her palm at him. Her palm was filled with a healthy green light that shined beautifully to him. Whatever, she was doing had greatly eased the pain in his body. The child was at a loss of words but he did feel immensely better. When her palm went to his shoulder as an act of comfort. The pain in his body was completely gone.

"I'm sorry, I should have gotten here sooner." The woman spoke.

The boy got out of his stupor.

"No, no, no, you came just in time...there was a awful storm and I guess we had a tornado. It yanked me from my home and I landed here. If anything, I couldn't really run because of how much pain I was in...thank you, nice lady. I feel a lot better now." The child spoke.

The young woman became relieved. She had successfully saved the child from the Unversed. However, her relief turned to a new found concern. This boy had been separated from his family.

'I'm sorry, Master Yen Sid but I can't just leave him here.' She thought.

Master Yen Sid had news of her friend but right now she couldn't just abandoned this lost child.

"How about I take you home?" She offered.

"You mean it?" He asked.

The woman grew a smile as she gave him a nod of reassurance.

"Definitely, I'm Aqua. What is your name?" Aqua asked him.

The boy seem to open up to her.

"Alright, thank you for taking me home and I'm Ian." He said.

"It's nice to meet you, Ian. Do you know where we are?" Aqua asked.

Ian thought for a second while taking a good look around him. The forest was familiar mainly by the fact one of the trees had yellow fabric tied around the trunk of the tree.

"At least a day's away from home. We have been to this forest before whenever we want to go camping and get away from everything." Ian said.

At the very least, he seemed to have been here before but he had followed a trail into this forest.

"I know a few landmarks we made to bring ourselves back on the right path. If I can find another one, I'll know where to go from there." Ian commented.

They hadn't gotten lost per say, from what he had remembered but his parents had been insist that he practice using familiar landmarks and man made ones to find his way back home. Ian knew he was still lost and knew that he was experiencing that feeling of being confused. Yet, with Aqua here it didn't make him feel as scared as he had been once he was attacked earlier. Her presence brought him comfort.

"That's great, don't worry. I'm sure everything will be alright." Aqua said.

Ian nodded his head as he began walking with Aqua following him.

'It would be faster by air but I don't know how many Unversed are in the area. It could be more dangerous if we take to the skies. I'm not willing to take that risk.'

Aqua could handle herself but Ian was just a boy.

"Uhm...Aqua what was that you did with your hand? Whats that?" Ian asked.

Aqua looked down at Ian as he was giving her a quizing look as his eyes were filled with curiosity.

"That was a cure spell. It helps to heal wounds. In order to use a cure spell, you need magic." Aqua answered.

"Do you think I can learn to do that one day?" Ian asked.

"If you are up for the studying portion of it, I'm sure you'll be able to learn magic." Aqua replied.

Ian's face grimaced at being told that he had to study. He hated studying, reminded him of school within the village and homework.

"No, thank you." Ian spoke.

Aqua grew a smile. She ruffled his hair.

"That's so like you boy's." She said with fondness.

Ian shooed her hand away.

"Ack! Hey! What do you mean by that?" Ian asked.

Aqua mood dampen at his question. However, she had to put his priority over hers if she were to stare off in the distance. Aqua dreaded the thought as she mentally got herself under control.

"You see, I have two friends of mine. They are guys and they hate studying, therefore you're just like them."

"It's boring of course we would." He defended his position.

"It looks like you will never learn magic with that mindset." Aqua countered.

Ian seem to falter because it was kinda cool being able to do that type of thing. However, studying was so boring and he usually fall asleep doing it.

"You're just lying to get me to study." Ian said.

Aqua found his defiance to be cute as she didn't take it to heart.

"Too bad, you need to be taught, you need to learn, and you need to study magic in order for you to use it." Aqua stated.

"Lying~" Ian responded.

"Oh, what makes you say that?" Aqua asked.

"My parents said if I eat all my veggies. I would get a treat but they always say, "your treat is the vegetables make you live longer and make you feel at your best." Ian said.

Aqua couldn't help but giggle at his experience.

"You know, I hate vegetables when I was a kid but how do you think I took those guys out in a split second. I ate my vegetables. I'd say it's well worth the benefits."

Ian stopped walking as did Aqua. She can see that he was skeptically looking at her. His eyes narrowed as he seemed to think about her words. She had easily taken out the creatures that had attacked him.

"Hmmm, I'll believe that but only because you did take em out so easily." Ian concluded.
