Breaking Down
"Dammit, dammit, where are you?" Spider-Boy growled as he looked around.
He had swung up to the top of the tallest building he could find in his current location. Truthfully he'd lost track of time and even location. It had been three days and yet he had not stopped searching, looking for Venom.
'Urgh, feel strange, eyes heavy…' He thought before shaking his head. 'Can't let that stop me, I will kill that bastard, wherever he is…'
He was determined to find and crush Venom, but what he didn't seem to realize was he was being driven solely by his anger, amplified by the Symbiote. He had stopped to intervene with a couple of robberies along the way and was feeling more and more amazed by the new power he had acquired, despite something in the back of his mind trying to warn him about something, some sort of danger regarding his new suit. But he ignored it, he had accomplished more these last three days than he usually did in an entire week.
'This suit...it makes me better, a better Spider-Boy, now I can put it to good use.' He reflected.
But first he had to destroy Venom, especially after all that monster and his underlings had done. The Symbiote was amplifying his anger while also keeping him awake, secretly and slowly draining him, taking him over.
Shaking his head he leapt from the building and swung out to continue his search, he'd found nothing so far, but he knew.
'The bastard is toying with me!'
But before he'd gone too far, he was suddenly tackled out of the air. With a roar of anger he lashed out with the Symbiote tentacles, only to find the attack countered by the exact same type of attack. Finally he landed and glared at his attacker who also landed and was grinning at him.
"Carnage, get out of my way!" Spider-Boy snapped.
Carnage just laughed. "Ohhhh, is the little spider mad."
Spider-Boy snarled. "You're in my way, you freak. I'm not interesting in a little scrub like you, where's Venom!"
Carnage paused at that, clearly offended by how he was being dismissed, but he just laughed it off, already having an idea.
"You'll never find him, Spider. He has no time for a little boy like you." Carnage mocked. "A little boy who could barely protect his girl...maybe we'll go after her next-"
"Fucking asshole!"
With that, Spider-Boy had launched himself right at Carnage with such speed and force that even Carnage was caught off-guard. Therefore he had no chance to react and got tackled right into the nearby wall, making a crater in it.
Carnage however just laughed and forcibly blasted the young superhero back, he then began to launch parts of his body, forming them into blades, directly at him. Spider-Boy was forced to dodge, which just angered him.
"You can't beat me, monster, I'm better than you and I will crush you and destroy Venom!" Spider-Boy fired back.
He then used the tentacles to catch Carnage and launch him into the air before leaping up after him and beginning to pummel him.
"WHERE IS HE!?" Spider-Boy yelled. "Tell me and I might spare you."
Carnage just cackled madly as he began to fight back. "Who cares, we're more interested in taking and slicing up your girl, maybe you can get the pieces."
"YOU WON'T FUCKING TOUCH HER!" Spider-Boy yelled as he began to shock Carnage with even more brutal attacks, actually finally putting fear in the insane Symbiote. "SHE'S MINE, MINE, YOU WON'T-!"
He stopped however, finally his rational mind at least partially breaking through his anger as he realized just how brutal he was being and worse, the things he had been saying, as well as the emotions boiling through him as he did so, namely about Jess.
'How could I...what the hell was I thinking? I pushed her away, afraid for her safety now I'm...I should never be that possessive. I'm not…' He thought, horrified by himself. 'What is happening to me, what-?'
But then he saw Carnage had escaped and the Symbiote resumed control.
"GET BACK HERE!"
But it was no good, Carnage had escaped and Jake was left to stew in his anger.
"Fuck." He grumbled.
Shaking his head and trying to clear the uneasiness he felt from his mind, especially that strange sudden possessiveness he'd felt towards Jess, something which disgusted him. Swinging away from the battlefield he did what he felt was the only thing he could do, he resumed his search for Venom, ignoring his exhaustion, or the pain from the battle, caring only about finding the monster and ending this once and for all.
