"Tell your mother I'll be writing her a thank-you card," Cat mumbled round a mouthful of pretzels. "This is the best meal I ever ate. Does she like cards with birds or butterflies?"
Marinette laughed. "Cat, you don't have to send her a thank-you! This is over for a sleepover, or at least the party part. Normally, we eat a lot of Chinese food. Me and you getting to eat junk food is an added bonus."
Bowls of popcorn, chips and dip, and a selection of sodas were on Marinette's desk. "Don't get to full, or you won't be able to enjoy the pizza." She trotted over to her nightstand, and picked up two movies. "Action or romantic comedy?" she let her guest decide. "Romantic comedy," Cat picked. "I get enough action on patrol."
Donning their pajamas, Marinette wrapped herself in a green blanket, while Cat claimed the chaise. Halfway through, Marinette noticed Cat's expression. "What?" "You can tell he's going to die first, him throwing himself to impress the girl." Marinette giggled. "Hm, don't you do that with Ladybug?" "Someone has to step in and save the day." "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure she wants her partner all in one piece, and not like Humpty Dumpty." Cat crunched on a potato chip. "Poor guy," he sighed. "Can you image how much glue that must of taken?"
At the end of the movie, Cat had slid down to the floor, holding Marinette's hand. "If its supposed to be a comedy," Cat sniffed, grabbing a tissue, "Why does it make you cry?" "Come on, I know what will make us feel better. Makeovers!"
Cat kept squirming as Marinette tried to paint his toe-claws. "Would you sit still?" she hissed. Cat stuck out his lip. "The polish is cold." Eventually, he settled down and when his nails were done, they posted them to Marinette's Instagram.
To help them fall asleep, or at least get a light nap before patrol, they cuddled up in the blanket, telling stories. With full bellies and sleepy eyelids, the two heroes were soon fast asleep until the alarm clock woke them for duty.
