Elden Lord Of Orario: Limgrave Arc
Hey this is my first fanfiction so please give me some constructive criticism on what I can improve (Like my dialogue) and any advice would be appreciated because rereading this makes me feel I put too much exposition but I don't know how to fix it so advice for future reference will be nice.
I chose this as my first fanfic because after I finished Elden Ring I watched an episode of Danmachi and just couldn't help but think of a crossover.
This is an isekai crossover with Bell being transported to the lands between without any memory of anything from his world. But after he gets past the events of the game he will return to Orario but I intend for him to be able to go back and forth between the worlds.
I will be making this a harem, only because me and my friend made a bet on WrestleMania and I lost. I haven't decided on who will be in it so put some recommendations for both people from Elden Ring and from Danmachi
I'll probably make a poll later but I'll ask now in case I forget. Should Bell have already been in Hestia Familia before being transported to the Elden Ring world (Killed in minotaur attack) or should he have been killed on the road to Orario?
I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1: The fallen leaves and a lost rabbit
Stranded Graveyard
'What…what is this' confusion is clear in Bell's voice echoing off the walls, his voice horse and tires as he picks himself off the wet rocky floor. Bell takes a look around his surroundings; he was in a cave or maybe a kind of graveyard? If the stone coffins still containing skeletal remains were any indication, tree roots cling to the cave's ceiling and just a few feet away from him statues lining carved stone stairs. "It's so cold in he-wait…how'd I get here? Where is here?" he tried to think but he only came up with a blank memory.
Just like that Bell started to Panic.
He racked his head trying to recall how he got to this place but came up with nothing. He tried to remember anything at all before waking up in this cave but couldn't come up with one memory. He couldn't remember where he was from, what food he liked and he didn't know if he had any friends or family. Panic set in, anxiety pressing down on him as he struggled to breath and his knees gave out. He was in an unfamiliar place and had no way of knowing if he was in danger and not knowing what lurked outside this cave. The fact that his mind came up blank on everything pained him, he felt he had no tether to who he was until he remembered one thing, just one thing.
"B-Bell Cranel…that's my name?...yeah I think so it sounds right somehow" Bell picked himself off the wet floor again. His name served as enough fuel to motivate him to take his steps out of this cave. He took note that he had a 17 inch dagger on hand as well as two strange sets of potions, one red and one blue. Once he finished taking inventory of everything he walked through the stranded halls of this cave/graveyard and found himself on an ascending platform that puts him before a door that Bell pushed open, knife at the ready for whatever may come.
Bell's eyes took a second to adjust to the natural light after having been in the cave but he was greeted with a beautiful sight of a lush green yet rocky landscape, there were many trees, not enough to be a forest but still a considerable amount, there was an abandoned and worn down church just ahead of him and many large stone structures that seems to be reclaimed by the earth. To the east he can see a swamp region with dead trees and can see a massive castle on a cliff to the North-west but what was the most eye catching thing was the massive golden tree that was reaching beyond the clouds it captivated bell for a moment before he set his eyes forward at the strange golden light dancing above the ground. Bell approached it and felt a strange temptation to touch it and so he did although he's not too sure what it does. Bell set his eyes forward and just realised that there was a person in a white expressionless mask.
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you there sir" Bell uttered feeling a bit embarrassed that he didn't notice the man.
The man responded "Oh yes... Tarnished, are we? Come to the Lands Between for the Elden Ring, hmm? Of course you have. No shame in it. Unfortunately for you, however, you are maidenless. Without guidance, without the strength of runes, and without an invitation to the Roundtable Hold...You are fated, it seems, to die in obscurity."
"Hey wait what?!" Bell screamed feeling embarrassed at the comment of being maidenless, 'It's not my fault, I don't even know any girls' Bell thought to himself with a sour expression on his face before realising what else the man said "Wait what are you talking about, what's the Elden Ring?" Bell tilted his head with wide curious eyes making the white masked man laugh to himself at both Bell's expression and a certain realisation.
"Ah little rabbit it seems thou art freshly risen, no wonder why you seem so lost." Varre laughed to himself as Bell pouted slightly but still paid him attention. "First an introduction, I am Varre and you boy are a tarnished like myself. A warrior risen from death at the behest of the greater will to mend the Elden ring and become Elden Lord-"
"WAIT I WAS DEAD?!" Bell interrupted before being hushed by Varre who continues "As I was saying, tarnished are guided by grace of gold to the pursuit of mending the Elden ring and becoming the Elden Lord, to restore the golden order in the lands between. I am sure you have seen the small gold rays that dance above the ground?" Bell nodded and pointed at the grace behind him "Oh no rabbit, I have been spurned by grace so I can no longer see the grace of gold and its guiding beams as I have strayed to a different path" Bell listened intently at what Varre said as he tried to commit all this for future reference
"Well, do all the tarnished lose their memories when they are resurrected? I don't seem to remember anything but my name" Bell asked concerned.. Varre seemed slightly taken aback by the question "No not that I heard of. Almost every tarnished retains their identity after resurrection, it seems that you have been dealt a harsher hand then most by grace" Varre seemed almost amused at the statement almost like Bell's condition was a joke to him.
"Well...I'll be on my way then…where do I go?" Bell was at a loss for a minute until he took note of a strand of gold rays emitting from the grace pointing towards the castle on the cliff which Varre took notice of. He seemed to notice what Bell was looking at "That is the guidance of grace. The path that a Tarnished must travel. Grace's guidance holds the answers. It will lead you Tarnished to the path you are meant to follow. Even if it leads you to your grave." Varre said with poorly hidden mockery at the end. He then pointed at the castle "Grace's guidance will reveal the path forward, most certainly. To Castle Stormveil, over on the cliff. The home of the decrepit demigod, Godrick the Grafted."
Bell nodded his head at least he had some idea of where he could go if he wanted but his thoughts were cut short by Varre's last statement. "WAIT A DEMIGOD?!" he looked to Varre for clarification, who simply did an exaggerated shrug much to Bell's ire 'bastard isn't going to elaborate is he?' Bell thought bitterly. Bell simply shook his head and walked down the hill and began his walk, he moved up the hill and was met with the sight of a massive man and horse, both clad in golden armour with a tree motif. Bell anxiously approached him
"A-ah hello sir? Could you tell me-AGH!" Bell was hit with the tree sentinel's halberd and knocked a few feet away, his chest bloodied by the attack, Bell looked on as the Tree sentinel approached, he was fearful, he took note of the red flask on his hip and decided to take the chance on it and drank it. As soon as he did he felt better, like he was never injured but before he could marvel at the potions effect he had to dodge over the Sentinels halberd twice as the massive man swung it, Bell saw no choice and took out his knife and would take shots at the Tree sentinel whenever he saw that the sentinel overshot his swing, turning his back to Bell but this only worked for so long, the fight dragged out and Bell was getting tired, when he dodged under the Tree sentinels attack he got to slow to react to the sentinels horse kicked him to the ground and before bell could recover he saw the blade of the halberd swing down "No! WAIT!"
SHINK!
The Tree sentinel's Halberd embedded itself into his chest, he felt the skin split, the bones crack and break and the feeling of his flesh and organs being pierced. Pain was all the bell could feel. Tears were shed as he reached towards that golden tree but briefly, just for a second it turned into a massive stone tower, like a pillar into the heavens. Bell didn't have time to think about it as death took him.
"AGH!" Bell screamed as he looked down and saw that he had no wounds and felt no pain. "What, what is this!" he screamed frantically as he looked next to him and saw the site of grace that he had touched earlier. Confusion took hold again until he heard a very familiar, arrogant voice to his left
"I take it this is your first time Rabbit?" Varre asked as he stood there inspecting his gloves like nothing had happened "My first time with what Varre?" Bell asked, still shaken, he couldn't tell if what had just happened was a dream or not, it certainly didn't feel like one. Varre's voice caught his attention again "Your first time dying little rabbit, I understand the reaction but i certainly didn't react like a frantic child when I first revived" Varre answered with a matter of fact tone. "R-revived? I actually died, but how did I come back" Bell inquired, he still looked shellshock but tried not to make it evident, his mind was a mess but he tried not to focus on it. Varre simply explained "When a tarnished is killed they are resurrected at the last site of grace they touched in a way you are sent back to before you encountered whatever killed you, you're thrown back in time so to speak. To me, I had just finished explaining where you needed to go and then just after you left you appeared besides where your site of grace is, making the encounter you had to have never happened"
Bell was certainly confused by it, he felt a headache coming on just trying to wrap his head around the idea but Bell continued "So I'm immortal? Tarnished can't die at all is what you're saying" his voice sounding optimistic hoping that no matter what happened his survival was guaranteed "Ah no. no little rabbit if you become spurned by grace then you will no longer be capable of returning to life" Varre said matter of factly as he inspected his gloves while fear came crashing back down onto Bell. "h-how do you get spurned of grace?"
At this point Bell was shaking leaf in wind which Varre found amusing imagining a sacred rabbit in Bell's place before he elaborated "A tarnished loses their grace by diverting from the chosen path set for them by Queen Marika, those who divert from the path are punished by losing their grace, but the path Queen Marika set out is far to difficult in fact many tarnished lose their nerve and abandon the path and there are those who hold no interest in the set path, either way dear rabbit they lose grace"
Bell needed a second to grapple with all this. All he knew was that he didn't want to die and if everything on the path ahead was as strong or stronger than the Tree sentinel then without grace he was royally screwed.
"Then I guess I have no choice but to follow whatever path this Marika lady has set out." Bell replied simply but didn't seem to be happy about it but it's not exactly like he had any real plan on what to do in the first place so he might as well follow this path as at least it will see him to the next day.
Varre was very amused by that and laughed "good luck then maidenless rabbit" he said mockingly, laughing at Bell's bitter expression. It was at that point Bell decided he didn't like Varre as he walked down the hill once again, making sure to avoid the Tree sentinel this time, no way in hell he was beating that yet.
Bell spent the next hour or so wandering. He encountered numerous monsters that he had to fight but compared to the Tree sentinel they were not nearly as difficult and demi-humans mainly but he also hunted some boar and deer's just to get something to eat. As it got darker Bell decided to head towards the ruined church he saw not that far from his site of grace to hold up for the night.
Bell walked into the decrepit site and took note that there was another site of grace and a strange thin man in red and white clothing. Bell touched the golden grace before approaching the man cautiously, dagger in hand in case the man attacks. The man in red took notice first and began the conversation
"You are Tarnished, I can see it. And I can also see... That you're not after my throat.
Then why not purchase a little something?" the man said with an unbothered tone. Considering how everything else just attacks him without starting a conversation, Bell decided it was safe to put his guard down.
"Purchase with what, I don't have any cash on me" Bell pulled out his pockets comedically to which Kale just laughed "You've got runes don't you? That is how you purchase things in these lands" Bell had been wondering what those runes that he's been getting were for, he had a fair bit from all the monsters he killed. "Ok then, let me see what you have" Bell barely had 4300 runes but chose to spend 4100 runes on the chainmail armour and a large leather shield just in case he needed it. As he was equipping the armour Bell and the merchant made small talk as Bell learned of the nomadic merchants, certainly helpful information that he would be able to get whatever he needed with these merchants scattered about. Before ending for the day Bell decided to inspect the gate that leads to Stormveil castle. He noticed the camp of soldiers and wanted to avoid them using cover of night, he wanted to avoid killing humans, he didn't think he could take the guilt at the moment. By the gate Bell noticed the familiar golden glow of a site of grace. Bell immediately touched it and chose to sit for a moment.
He was staring at the grace when he heard an ethereal noise as blue light emanated just out of his line of sight, he heard footsteps slowly approaching him, he turned his head and saw a lady in travelers attire, her face hidden by her hood, she was unarmed but Bell was still cautious. She began to speak in a gentle and soothing tone.
"Greetings. Traveler from beyond the fog." she knelt next to him as she gently removed her hood revealing her face, she had one eye closed with a tattoo or marking over it and had. Her hair was pale pink, at least in this lighting.
"I Am Melina. I offer you an accord."
That's all for chapter one. Honestly I'm not sure if the length of this chapter will be satisfactory for any of you but it's the best I can do at the moment.
Feel free to ask questions about my plans for the story and I'll try to answer them In the next chapter without too many spoilers.
Again, please this is my first story so constructive feedback and advice for anything like my pacing and dialogue to the story's structure would be appreciated.
Thank You all for reading and I hoped you enjoyed it.
Have a nice day!
