Author's note: Hello! Just writing something to help alleviate my delusions on being in the pokemon world. And, well, to get some writing experience. I have never written anything before so I just wanted to see how it would go, how hard it was and if I'd like it. I'm not sure if I will introduce any characters from the games or anime yet, mainly planned on having OC's.

Zinnia/Zin - 18
Alize/Aiz - 18
Prologue:
So, picture this: It's a Thursday morning at 7am. Your mom is cooking breakfast, and your best friend, who basically lives with you, is waiting for you in the kitchen. You didn't set your alarm last night and you and your BFF were up late sending memes over Tiktok. That's the situation we find one of our heroines in regrettably.
"Alize, could you go wake up Zinnia for me?"
"Sure thing Nat!" A young girl said before exiting the kitchen. Her long wavy black hair flowed as she made her way up a flight of stairs. Stopping in front of a familiar door that has a sign with some lame inspirational quote on it. Without knocking, she stepped in, already well aware of the fact her friend wasn't even awake to respond even if she did. Walking over to her lifeless body snuggled up in some blankets, there lay her gorgeous platinum blonde friend, hugging a body pillow. Alize was blasted with a torrent of cold air. It would seem as though Zinnia STILL hasn't bothered to set a timer on her window A/C. She stared down at her friend with admiration and a slight bit of jealousy. She was brain dead to the world and lost in her own numbed bliss.
Well, as cute as she was, all good things must come to an end. And that time just so happened to be when her best friend was around. She tore off the blankets expecting an instant reaction but was disappointed when she didn't even get so much as a complaint. Alize's mind raced with various other ways to wake up her friend nefariously. Ranging from smacking a wet folded up towel on her face to simply slapping the dog shit out of her. As these ideas ran rampant in her head, she decided to take this time to do some stuff she never normally do to her while she was awake. Crouching down to ear-shot range, she whispered "Wake up! It's time to get our starter Pokemon! C'mon, we're gonna be late!" However, this resulted in nothing more than the whirring of the a/c in the background to effortlessly grow louder.
She continued her 'attempts' to wake up her friend after waiting for a few brief moments. "I'm going to kiss you if you don't wake up soon~!" Alize teased. This time, she received a reaction, but it pretty much translated to nothing more than unintelligible zombie noises. Well, tease might be the wrong word to use here because Alize planted a soft kiss on Zinnia's cold cheek. You can't really call it teasing if they follow up on what they say, right? Unfortunately, there was still no reaction. If anything, it seemed like Zinnia had the slightest of smiles on her pretty little face. Alize took this cue to keep going. "I warned you~! I guess I have no choice but to keep kissing you~!" she cheered with vigorous enthusiasm. A warm hazy fog slowly flooded her mind as she continued.
Mwah *giggles* Mwah *giggles intensify*
She grew braver and bolder everytime her lips made contact with her friend's cheek. A tightening pressure gripped Alize's heart that only grew stronger with each kiss she gave her best friend. The feeling of her skin underneath her lips burned into her memory as her mental fortitude became weaker and weaker to resist from doing it. She muffled her own celebrative squeals every time she successfully didn't wake her up. As she was going for a fourth smooch, Zinnia finally sparked back into operation. Only one of her eyes opened, partially at that. "Nngh, heuh?" incomprehensible speech was displayed once more. Alize didn't have a doubt in her mind that Zinnia's vision was still blurry. You could tell she was having a pretty heavy wake up right now.
Like one of those naps where your eyes feel like they've been torn apart after being glued together. Yeah, THAT kind of heavy induced sleep was what she was struggling to wake up from. Snapping shut her one half-opened eye, the blonde gave a big cat-like stretch. We're talking arched back, spasming legs, the whole nine yards here. Half opening both of her eyes, Zinnia only saw a black shadowy figure standing next to her. Knowing that couldn't be the case, she tried rubbing the sleep out of her eyes before looking up again. Now, myth to matter, this time she was met with her longtime friend, Alize. She wiped her cold cheek, the reason she woke up. It was wet so she thought she was drooling.
"Mngh? Huh? Why are you here?" Zinnia asked, staring lifelessly and half interested.
"Finally awake? *sigh* I wish you'd never woken up." She said, as she spun towards the door.
"Huh!? What the hell!?" Zinnia questioned in aggravated confusion.
"Nothing. That's the problem. We're going to be late. Now hurry up and get dressed." Alize said as she promptly walked out of the room.
"Hey! What the hell was that all about!?" Zinnia yelled, still trying to get a proper answer. But, to no avail, she gave up and got out of bed. She rubbed her cold cheek again before peeking at the clock, 07:10 am. A surge of panic emerged as she remembered what today was. Rushing to get ready, it only took her 25 minutes to get ready. Shower, brushed teeth, and a fresh change of clothes. She wore a loose, long sleeved beige v-neck shirt that had exposed her shoulders covered by a black half-cut jacket she left unzipped. An ultra short dark gray pleated skirt with a plaited design on it and a black belt with metal rings decorating the belt holes over it. Underneath her skirt, she wore a pair of black thigh socks layered with some black pantihose, topped with a pair of black and white running shoes. She had begun putting on her aqua green earrings as she headed downstairs.
Her hair, still wet and clinging to her back and the nape of her neck. She noticed both her mom and her friend were already eating without her. Her mom, however, had made her two egg bologna sandwiches in advance, as evident by the only remaining untouched plate. "Are we late?"
"Not yet." Alize replied. Zinnia released a sigh of relief before sitting down to eat. Alize had a towel on hand for some reason and sat beside her before drying her hair for her.
Her mother watched over her with emotions swelling up in her chest. "Oh honey, I'm so proud of you! I can't believe today you'll be starting your very own journey today! I'm not sure I'm ready for you to leave the nest just yet though." She said as tears formed at the edges of her eyes. "On one hand you're finally growing up, but on the other hand I'm not ready for you to grow up…" she trailed off. Alize patted her back empathetically to support her. She understood how she must've felt.
"Don't worry Nat, I'll be there to make sure she doesn't do anything too stupid." Alize joked lightheartedly.
"I know, I just still can't believe it. When I look at her, I still see my baby. I just can't accept the fact that she's her own grown woman now…" Natalia continued. Wiping away her tears, she forced a smile back on her face. "Anyways, you girls should get going. Don't want to keep the professor waiting now, do you?" She said as Zinnia finished up her plate. "Yup. That's one thing I'm not going to miss. You still eat disgustingly fast." All mood was ruined when she was left to clean up the mess.
Zinnia got up as she finished. "What? It was good! And I'm in a hurry!" Throwing away her paper plate as she responded. She wasn't looking at her mom but she knew what kind of face she was making at her. Zinnia walked up to her mom before hugging her tightly. "I can't believe the time is finally here." She said. Her voice began to quiver as she felt her throat tightening and her eyes grow warm. "I'm finally going to be a pokemon trainer mom! I've been waiting my entire life for this!" Tears now threatening to stream down her face.
Nat just hugged her daughter back, feeling just as emotional. "I know honey. I've been waiting as long as you have for this day to come! I know you'll make me proud out there! No matter what you decide to do, I'll always support you!"
Her daughter gave one last squeeze before separating and swallowing the emotional lump in her throat. "Bye Mom! We're heading off now!" Zinnia grabbed her friend's hand and ran out the front door with her in tow. From being a freshly risen corpse, she was now bustling over with energy. The thought of having her very own pokemon and going on her very own adventure was enough to fill her with boundless motivation.
"Well that got emotional. So there really is a human being inside that body of yours after all, huh?" Alize gibbed as she was dragged along. "Seeing this side of you is always lovely though."
Zinnia's cheeks flushed red. She hated being teased. She shut the door behind them and let go of her friend's hand. "S-shut up! Let's just go already."
"Aww, are you embarrassed? Hmhm, you're so cute!" Alize teased as she reached out for her hand again. "Besides, I'm not done holding your hand yet." She wrapped around Zinnia's arm and held her hand. "It's warm and smooth, and it's also mine now!."
Zinnia exaggeratedly rolled her eyes. "Oh, speaking of. Have you decided who you're going to pick as your starter yet?" The blonde asked.
"Yep. I'm choosing Piplup. They're so cute and huggable! Remember the five plushies of them in my room!" Alize gushed. "What about you Zin? Have you decided who you wanted to pick?"
"No, not a clue. I've researched them and the different ways to battle with them, but I still can't decide on who to get." Her response left Alize disappointed. "I knew you'd pick Piplup though. You and cute things, I can't even count how many plushies you own."
"Hey! It's not my fault! Cute things just demand my attention! It's a crime to not respond to them in kind." Her black haired friend argued. Her eyes were obviously lost in thought, no doubt about something cute she saw recently. Zinnia could only sigh at the thought of her gullible friend. She stared into her friend's deep sapphire blue eyes, waiting for her to return to reality. A minute had passed already and she was beginning to drool like a weirdo.
Zinnia's pov:
*Yawn~* *sigh* Whenever I look at her like this, I can't help but admire her radiant beauty. She really shines when she's lost in herself. I may not know what runs in her mind, but I love her and the way she's so independent about the things she likes. I just wish I could understand her viewpoint more sometimes. If I could make her already happy self even happier by indulging her… Woah woah woah! Slow down me!? I know she's cute, but going there with her is…something…I still don't know about… We're just friends…?' We were both lost in our own little worlds. Still though, even if I might not get with her, we're close enough that I can just kiss her cheeks right? Like, as long as it's not on the lips it's not weird or anything, right? … Am I actually gay? What is happening right now? Hello?
3rd pov:
The both of them were still lost in their own intrusive thoughts. A pair of girls, arms interlocked and staring in different directions from each other with blushes on their faces. Onlookers might get the wrong idea, but neither of them were in any position to respond even if someone did. They probably wouldn't even care. Zinnia was in the middle of a full blown gay panic. And Alize was thinking of who knows what? She looked at Alize who was mindlessly walking with their arms connected by their hands and elbows. *sigh* Not a single comprehensible thought behind those eyes still. Zinnia's mind thought, evident on her face.
Bing~!
Zinnia was cut off of all thoughts as a blunt pain spread and split up her body and face. Alize released her arm before looking over her friend. "Pfft hahahahaha! What are you doing you idiot? Hahaha, why didn't you walk around the pole?" Alize burst into laughter. Mocking her like best friends do.
Zinnia angrily stared up at her friend. "I was trying to, but you wouldn't move over!" she yelled at her with an immediate excuse. She held her red nose with both her hands, hoping it wasn't bleeding. Looking around, trying to see if anyone else saw her. Luckily no one was around. She noticed however, that they were already in front of the building that they needed to be at already. "Look, we passed the entrance because of you." again, saying something as an excuse to guilt trip her friend. Alize was too busy laughing at her right now to care though and couldn't stop to form a sentence. Zinnia left her behind, stomping over to the glass doors. Alize followed behind her forcing down her laughter to just a fit of giggling.
"Welcome! How can I help you two today?" The two were greeted by a pretty receptionist immediately.
"Hi! We're scheduled to pick up our starter pokemon today with Prof. Rowan?" Zinnia spoke quietly. Behind her back she was fiddling with her fingers. Zinnia was the type of person to get shy in front of strangers. She was like a Growlithe, except with trauma. Friendly to the point of being overwhelming, but traumatized of trying to make the first move to meet people.
"Great, can I have your names and what time your appointment is?" they asked.
"Zinnia Villanueva and Alize Haygen. And I think our appointment was around 08:15ish?" Zinnia answered a little less softly. Still secretly fidgeting her fingers behind her back. Alize walked up behind her and put a hand on her shoulder for reassurance.
The receptionist tapped away at their computer for a few seconds before confirming their names and appointment. "Great! Give me just one second and I'll go grab the Professor for you." They said before promptly leaving their seats. The girls took this time to find a seat in the lobby as they waited. Layla once again snaked around Zinnia's arm and locked hands with her once more. This time, since they weren't moving she also rested her head on her shoulder.
Switching to Zinnia's POV
Alize has been acting really clingy today. I mean, I'm not complaining, but… What's her deal? We've always had a very close and affectionate relationship with each other, even I know that, but she's like a whole new monster today. I peeked over my shoulder to see her happily content face leaning on me. Just looking at her makes me grow a smile on mine too. Man, I swear, everytime I look at her, she just takes my breath away. She's so beautiful… I don't know what I'd do without her in my life. Which is why I can't help but wonder if she's worried about something? I mean, we are about to start our first adventure after all, so there must be troubling her mind to be making her act like this.
"Aiz?"
"Hmm?" she hummed.
"Is something on your mind? You've been extra clingy today." I asked. Her face hadn't wavered in the slightest though.
"Oh? No, I'm just in a really, really good mood today." She said, Her lush lips slowly curving upwards even more as she continued. "I mean, come on! I'm here, with you, getting our long awaited starter pokemon, AND, we're about to start our first true adventure together! What would I not be happy for?" She said as she met my gaze. Staring into those beautiful deep blue gem-like eyes really eased my mind. And the way she worded that also reignited my adrenaline.
The smile on my face grew as the words she said echoed in my head. I couldn't help but grow restless again. She was right. She was absolutely right. We have been waiting and dreaming for this day to come together ever since we were kids, barely gaining the ability to remember things! And today was finally the day our patience bore fruit. We get to enjoy each other's company, we're getting our starter's together, and we're going to start traveling around the world today! The more I thought about it, the more my excitement started to bubble over.
"Yeah, you're absolutely right! I can't wait to get out there to explore and catch some new pokemon!" I said just barely below a scream. Thankfully it wasn't too busy right now. Probably because it was still early in the morning.
I heard Alize giggle softly as I started growing more anxious. And as if on cue, the receptionist walked back through the door behind the desk. "I apologize, girls, but Professor Rowan isn't here today." She said, the built up tension I had a second ago crumbled. "But he said I can be the one to help you girl's register as official trainers instead!" She continued. Like magic, her words had blown in a second wind for my lungs as the excitement raced back into my system. "Follow me."
Alize and I got up from our seats and made our way to where the receptionist stood. I grabbed Alize's hand for reassurance. I still couldn't believe that We were finally here, getting our starter pokemon. We walked past a number of doors and windows before we finally stopped in front of a true 'laboratory' looking room. The receptionist guided us to a computer before pulling out a pair of red devices from her pockets and hooked them up to the computer. "Before I can hand you your first pokemon, I'll need to assign a Trainer ID to the both of you as well as register your Pokedex into the trainer system. I'll start with Alize first. Can you tell me your full name and social security?" She said as she typed away on the computer.
"Alize Rose Haygen."
I decided to look around the lab as I waited for her to call my name. There were a bunch of machines on every wall that I couldn't even begin to imagine what they could be used for. The main thing I was looking around for were any Pokeballs. Not that I was going to do anything with them, I don't know why I was looking for them to be honest. I just wanted to see them. A couple minutes passed and the receptionist called for my name next. "Zinnia, can I have your full name and social security?"
"Zinnia Alabaster Villanueva, xxx-xxxx" I answered her.
"Date of birth and City you were born in?"
"February 7th, 2004 on Akala Island."
"Where is your current home address?"
"Jubilife city, N Lockwood St. XXXXX."
"Do you have a personal cell phone number?"
"No I don't."
"Alright, who would be a good person to contact in case of an emergency?"
"My mother. Her number is XXX-XXX-XXXX and her name is Natalia Villanueva."
She unplugged the pokedex and handed it to me. There were some numbers on its screen next to the words 'Trainer ID'. "You can use any computer from any Pokecenter and register it to your phone number at any time. I would advise trying to get yourself a phone for any emergency situations that may arise. It also helps with gps, but it can be a little wonky at times. I am required to inform you that each of your Pokedex have a one way calling system that is only meant to be used in dire situations. It can make a call out, but it cannot receive one in. But with this, we are free to select your new pokemon! Are you ready?" the receptionist sounded excited.
Alize and I gave each other a quick glance before answering at the same time. "Hell yeah!" The receptionist just laughed at us.
"Well, alright. Have you already made up your mind on which pokemon you want? I'll go grab them right now or I can just bring them all if you haven't." The kind lady said.
"I want Piplup!" Alize said proudly. A cute faint blush tinted her cheeks. Then she looked at me, obviously ready to know if I had made my decision yet.
I know I've kept her waiting long enough and it would be poor manners for the unchosen pokemon to be brought along when they won't even get to come along. So, now is the perfect time to answer! "Chimchar! That's got to be my destined starter pokemon!" I claimed.
Alize had her hand up to her mouth as she stifled a few giggles to herself. "Great! I'll walk you two back to the entrance and I'll have your pokemon ready for you here in just a few minutes!" She said with a smile spread across her face. It was obvious she was enjoying our reactions. The two of us followed her back to the same door we came near the entrance.
I squeezed Alize's hand out of excitement as we stepped out from the hallway. "Aiz! It's finally happening! We're finally gonna have our first pokemon!" I silently screamed next to her. I couldn't help showing my teeth as I smiled at my best friend with pure happiness. The curved lips on her face were prettier than I'd ever seen on her before. We hopped in place, unable to contain our excitement any longer while we held both our hands in front of each other.
Alize was squealing cutely with me "I know! I can't wait to finally hold a Piplup in my arms! This is the best day ever!" Aiz matched my vibe.
For the next few minutes, the two of us were tied together, hopping around like a pair of idiots while squealing like little girls. We couldn't help it though. I'm sure everyone in the lobby could understand, judging from how they were smiling and laughing at us. Suddenly, the door behind us burst open and the kind receptionist emerged holding a pokeball in each hand. "Well then, here you ladies go! And we hope you have some safe travels ahead!" She said as she handed each of us our special first pokemon.
The two of us snatched up the pokeballs and stared at them unbelievably in our hands. Emotions and tension were sky high for the both of us. Without a word, we both made a mad dash for the doors so we could release our pokemon. As the sun rays graced our skin, we didn't have to throw our pokeballs because our pokemon released themselves. A white flash of light arched from our hands to the ground and two small forms materialized.
'Chimchar!'
'Piplup!'
They both cried as they emerged. As soon as Chimchar and Piplup laid eyes on us, they ran to meet us as we did to them. I watched as Chimchar dove into the air as we closed the distance with impeccable speed. Catching him in my arms, I spun around with all the push back force as I squeezed him tightly to my chest. The warmth of a fire type's body pressed against me as he rubbed his cheek against mine. Right next to me Alize dove at the small penguin aggressively. At a blinding speed, she turned around onto her back while lying on the ground, tightly embracing Piplup with practiced expertise.
Switching to 3rd pov:
Alize was giggling, gushing over the adorableness of the penguin. "You're so cyuute~! Oh my god you're so cute! I'm never letting you go Piplup! You belong right here in my arms!" She declared boldly without a care in the world. Nothing else mattered to her except squeezing all of the cuteness out of that blue bird. She was experiencing a serious case of cute aggression. Piplup didn't mind one bit however. She was just enjoying the attention as she cuddled her back.
Chimchar had broken loose from Zinnia's grip and was climbing all over Zinnia. The blonde couldn't help but laugh as he tickled her while moving around. Whether it was him trying to play or him just trying to learn more about his new trainer, Chimchar was exploring every inch of Zinnia's climbable body. It took Zinnia a few tries to finally grab hold of him. She held him out in front of her to which he just flashed her a wide cheeky smile. Zinnia's heart swooned, he was just too cute for her. All reasoning escaped from her as she hugged him tightly to her chest. "Chimchar you're so cute! I knew you were the perfect pokemon for me!"
Actual minutes passed as the girls were stun locked in front of the building. They were much too occupied gushing and cuddling their new pokemon to care about anything else at the moment. After using up their pent up excitement and indulging in the happy moment, Zinnia was the first to try to break the fluffy vibe between the four of them. *Gasp* "Alize! We should scan them with our pokedex!" She yelled as the thought placed itself in her head.
Alize's eyes widened, she too forgot about scanning them into the pokedex. "Zin, you're a genius!" her black haired friend grabbed the new device from her purse. She opened it up and immediately scanned the penguin in her arms. Zinnia did the same with her own pokemon before scanning the cuddle buddy of Alize. When they finished, Chimchar climbed onto Zinnia's head, stabilizing himself with her shoulders.
"She was pretty explanatory about having a phone. Think we should ask Nat to help us go buy one before we take off?" Alize asked as she slowly began to realize the importance of having one. "I think it would be good for us as another fail safe if anything happens to us somewhere."
Zinnia just shook her head in agreement. "Alright, let's go then. We can also show off our new pokemon to mom too!" The girls set off back to where they came from. This time Zinnia did not bump into any poles.
15 minutes later: 09:00
Alize and Zinnia walked in through her home's front door. Mom was on the phone, talking to who knows who. It was evident that she wasn't expecting us to be back so soon. "Hey girl's, what are you doing back here?" Nat asked. A little bit of concern started to plague her mind. "Uh, hey. I'll call you back, the girls just came back and I'm not sure what they need." She said before hanging up the phone abruptly.
"Hey Mom, we were wondering if you could come with us to buy a new phone. You know, just in case we need something." Zinnia cut straight to the point. "Aaaand…" She unclipped the pokeball on her waist "check out our new Pokemon!" The ball opened up and Chimchar made his appearance. 'Chimchar!' the small chimp cried. "Isn't he cute! He's super cute isn't he!?"
"And mine too! Come on out Piplup!" Alize followed as she released her starter. 'Piplup!' Piplip materialized in its typical proud, puffed out chest stance. The two pokemon began to run around, playing with one another.
"Hmhm, they remind me of you guys when you were still little!" Nat said as she smiled reminiscently. Zinnia's first words flashed into her head after she was done. "Phones? Sure, I can come with you, but what do you need a phone for? Every pokecenter has a computer you can call on there."
"That's old school thinking Mom. Yea, we could use them there. But everything know-a-days is moving towards technology! We would always be the last ones in the loop of things if we don't get a phone!" Zinnia explained. "Besides, I want to take photos along my journey to memorize everything that happens!"
"I wanted them so we had another source to fall back on in-case of an emergency. But I also would like to take videos of my pokemon. I mean, come on! Piplup is just too cute not to record everyday, right?" Alize followed up with what ZInnia had said.
Nat rolled her eyes at first. She stopped and started thinking that this was just a new fad or something, but then Alize's argument helped win her over. If it could help keep them safe, then by all means. She knows how one thing can lead to another when out in the wild. "Fine, fine. Let's get going then, I'll drive us." She said, the girls cheered as she complied with them. "Wait for me in the car, I'll get the keys."
With that, the girls walked right back out of the house standing next to the car. Zinnia tried opening the door, but it was locked. "Ugh, great." She rolled her eyes and complained. Alize had done the same thing right after, but didn;t say a word. A minute passed and mom had her purse with her, searching for her keys as she walked towards them. The girls immediately started to squeeze the door handles preemptively rapidly, despite knowing it was still unlocked.
"Wait, I'm getting the keys." Nat said with a slight bit of irritation. They had always done this whenever this happened before they left to do anything. The sound of locked doors failing to open continued. "I said wait! I'm getting the keys, hold on!" But the girls didn't listen and still kept squeezing the handles frantically. Finally, she grabbed the keys from her bag, unlocking the car. The doors opened as soon as they were allowed to and the clicking stopped. They sat promptly in the car like nothing ever happened. "I hate it when you do that. It drives me nuts." Mom complained.
"That's why we do it. And because you made us wait." Zinnia said plainly. She did it partially because she wanted to annoy her mom one last time.
"We know you love it Nat. You're gonna miss this pretty soon." Alize said as a small bratty grin smeared her face.
15 minutes later: 09:25
After some idle chatter and some group singing in the car, the girls arrived at a store that advertised phones and other services. "Do you girls want me to get out with you? Do you want my help to pick something out?" Mom asked as she parked the car.
"Come in with us. I don't know much about money mumbo jumbo." Zinnia said as she got out of the car.
"I'm not really good with money talk either. Could you please help us?" Alize asked kindly.
"*sigh* You girls are a mess. You're going to have to grow out of this somehow. I won't always be around when you need me." Nat smiled as she got out of the car. When they walked into the store, it was lined up with multiple new phone models.
"Hi! How can I help you today?" A salesman had greeted them.
"We're looking for a pair of phones for these two. But, we don't know much about them and what they can do. Can you help us and show us some models that you have?" Mom spoke for the group.
"Certainly! Let's start by asking how much you do know about them?" he suggested.
"Uh, very little. I know they can access the internet and they make calls. I'm not entirely sure what else they can do." Zinnia answered a bit too honestly.
"Oh, well let me explain a few things about our models. All of our products have a Rotom adaptability function. Essentially, if you can obtain one, it would be like having a 7th member of your pokemon party. Rotom has the ability to possess certain items, Tv's, Lawn Mowers, Refrigerator's, Washers and Fans. We have developed a device that Rotom can possess without having to fight in it. It would be like having a free 7th slot to your party of pokemon, but not really. Rotom's in our phones wont have the ability to use any of its moves. We do this so it is legal for them to travel alongside their trainers without taking up a spot on your team. We can sell you a Rotom along with the phone purchase…" He stated. He looked around before continuing. "But I highly suggest just catching one on your own. The price to buy one is high and the added payment inflates your phone payment as well." He whispered.
The girl's eyes sparkled at this information. Mom just sighed, it wasn't in her to ruin their mood by telling them that this was a sales pitch for a fairly useless tool. After he had explained enough to them, Nat was planning on telling them the horrible news so that the girls wouldn't get scammed and learn a lesson the hard way.
"As you said before, phones can access the internet and make phone calls, but they can also be used to take pictures and videos along the way. I wanted to tell you about the Rotom function first so that I could help you understand this next part better. A Rotom can act independently and can use the phone functions to speak in human language. It can make emergency calls on its own, take group pictures and record videos, send texts, do math calculations, pretty much whatever the phone can do, the Rotom can do it for you." He continued with his pitch.
This time it was Mom's turn to be surprised. She didn't know how useful having a Rotom could be in a phone.
"Rotom phones don't require any charging unless there's not a Rotom in it. More often than not, Rotom's will know if there is something wrong with the phone before you or us. So if there's any damage or anything, it will help us get it fixed." He finished.
"I have a question. How would we know when Rotom is using the camera or video feature?" Alize asked.
"Great question, we have a cyber security code that allows us to restrict certain actions without either a vocal command or physical touch on the screen. We also have a second security feature where we can add face recognition, and specify the phone to your body specifically. We would take your fingerprints and integrate it into the phone's systems, so only your touch will be able to operate the phone." He answered.
"What about if we want to share the phone?" Zinnia asked as she looked at Alize.
"Well, that may be a bit more tricky. I'm not entirely sure we can do that, so I would have to get back with you on that later. I don't want to tell you wrong information, sell you something and then it turns out that it doesn't actually work the way I said it would. That makes me look bad, which makes the company look bad. And I don't want that."
"Any advice on where to find a Rotom?" Zinnia asked, slowly starting to lose focus now that a pokemon was brought up.
"I'm not supposed to say this, but we don't actually know either. They kinda just appear when and wherever there is unused electricity over a long period of time." He said quietly. "Buuut, I can cut you a deal and give you a discount if you do find one. They help us repair any equipment and send us constant feedback regarding stuff like location. If your older sister here wants to be your co-signer and keep tabs on you wherever you might be, she can." He finished. Mom flushed at the compliment, she knew it was just flattery but it was working.
"Oh, and one last thing. We have an app that we can install that allows your phone to sync with your pokedex. This is so you won't have to use it to scan things yourself anymore. This works with or without a Rotom in it." He gave one final push on the subject. At this point, even Natalie was sold on it. The girls looked at each other excitedly, knowing that this HAD to be the one they got. "All of our phones have various data plans and data storage space, so those also make the final payments fluctuate a little. Whatever it is you're looking for, I'm sure we can find whatever phone you want to suit your needs."
The family group had looked at each other, waiting to hear their own opinions. Which ended up in Mom speaking up first. "I think it's a great deal. I'm not sure what all you two have planned to use it for other than to keep in contact and videos, so that part is entirely up to you. What do you want your phone to be used for?"
"Pretty much, that's it. Having access to the internet is a must so that I can listen to music." Zinnia concurred.
Alize looked at the salesman and asked. "Do you have any features that allow or help with drawing? Me and her are going on our own adventure soon and we'll be traveling together during it. It doesn't need to have other features other than a quality screen."
He thought for a moment before walking over to a table with devices that looked too big to be a phone. "We have these tablets here. I think a phone can access everything that it can do app wise, like drawing and E books or whatever, but as you can see the size difference is much better for drawing. We have these with phone features and without to help with prices." He said.
"Zin, wanna just get one phone and one tablet? I don't think we're ever going to be apart for too long, so I don't see a reason to have two phones right now." Alize explained what she was thinking to cut down on costs.
"We can do that. I'm already set on just getting a simple cheap phone anyways." Zinnia replied with a hint of boredom.
"So you want a tablet with no phone feature and a cheap simple phone?" He asked them while writing some notes.
"Yeah, that's about where we're at on this. We're ready to look through your models please." Alize answered. She figured she should handle the rest of this until they paid. Zinnia had already lost interest and was eager to leave. Alize followed the man to select the devices they wanted and Zinnia chatted with her mom to pass the time while she waited.
Zinnia's pov:
"Zinnia." Mom called.
"Hmm?"
"How would you feel about going to the beach after this?" Mom asked as she locked eyes with me.
"Huh? Why?"
"Because, I'm not ready for you to leave yet. And, I figured that maybe you'd want to try catching yourself a water type pokemon to help you with your first gym battle. He's a rock type specialist isn't he? Chimchar is going to have a hard time with that if he doesn't evolve in time for the fight you know?" She explained her intentions, trying to convince me. She knew my weak points, so of course it was working.
"I mean, sure, but I kinda wanted to hit the road right after this. The sooner we get started, the better." Seriously. I still need to have my first battle with Alize after this. It has to be Alize.
"This will be the last time you'll get to go to a beach for a long time. I think this is a perfect opportunity to get to know your pokemon a little better and learn how to communicate with them properly." Mom said. She had a point. Having a pokemon that doesn't understand what I'm saying would be terrible.
"Let's go then. I'll explain this to Alize after we're done here."
"Okay, thanks dear." Mom said, trailing off. "Zinny, honey?"
"Yes Mom?" What is it now?
"You shouldn't leave everything like this up to Alize. One day she might not be there to help you. She has a life too you know? She may get stolen away from you by some guy along the way. What will you do then?" She scolded me out of nowhere. I know she's right, I should be with her right now getting our stuff together, but… I just want to go catch some pokemon already! The time we spent here we could've already picked a fight with a wild pokemon already! I mean, we got our pokemon together but haven't even battled yet!
*sigh* "I know Mom. I feel bad because I was the one to suggest being here in the first place too. I just can't stand not doing anything. I don't know anything about phones, but I know a whole lot about pokemon. The only thing I wanted from here was something to use in case of an emergency. I didn't think it would take this long. I figured it was going to be like walking into Walmart, go in, pick it up, buy it, walk out. I didn't know there were so many options and different prices for the same damn thing!"
"Well, that's a part of growing up. You're going to have to learn these things and harder yet, be patient. It may be tough, but I know you can do it. The whole world is your Cloyster, how pretty the pearls you make are up to you." Mom advised. I've heard this from her countless times growing up. Even more recently now before we turned 18. Frankly, I was getting tired of it. It seems like common sense at this point. But at the same time, why do I not listen?
During our talk, Alize managed to quickly decide on the devices and grabbed our attention to lead us to the reception. "Alright, what's the damage?" I asked.
"Well, with a standard 23+ model *Beep* and a Tablet *beep*, your total comes out to be $3,056 for the initial purchase." The salesman said.
"Holy crap! Seriously?"
"What were you expecting, Zinnia? 350 and some change?" Alize asked me sarcastically. Yes actually.
"Since you did not want to have Rotom added with it, your payments will be 250 a month for 12 months, 125 for each device. Buuut, I can sign you a promised discount that says, 'If you catch a wild Rotom, we will lower the payments and repair fees.'" He said as he typed away on the computer with our stuff. The phone was plugged into it in the same way our Pokedex were back at the lab. He turned the screen over to verify if all the information was correct. "Does this all look okay to you?"
"It's a little expensive… I'm not sure we have enough to make that initial payment." Alize answered sheepishly. She rubbed her arm in discomfort as she looked in my direction. " I've only got $2,500 on me right now. It was supposed to support us until we at least beat the first gym."
I checked my wallet and only saw about $500 in cash. Ughh Not looking so good so far. Off to a great start already today. "I only have $500 on me right now, I'd have to go and check my bank account to see if I have any left in there."
"We can change the payment method if you need. This is just a standard payment for Trainers who typically start their journey looking to buy a phone on the way." He said. Why do I get the feeling we're being led into a scam? "I can lower the initial payment, but you would have to pay more for your monthly payments. And that as well, we could also extend the time you take to fully pay off your new devices to lower the price again." He offered another way, trying to keep the sale going.
"Could we take 24 months to pay them off so we can cut the initial price in half?" Alize asked.
After typing in a few things the man responded to her and showed us the screen once more. "We can do that, but the payments might be a little higher than what you're expecting. We charge an extra interest fee the longer payments are extended."
*Sigh* "I'll pay for it. 3,056 you said right?" Mom said as she dug through her purse.
"Yes, that is correct 'mam." He said.
"Mom, you don't have to do this, you know? We can work something out between the two of us." I told her.
"Don't get me wrong, you are going to pay me back. But it's better if you don't have to pay more for something than it's worth. Interest rates are scams, the sooner you learn that, the better." Mom told me sternly. A hint of annoyment and resentment lingered in her voice. "Don't tell your father about this. I won't hear the end of it if he finds out how much I just spent." Something about the way he looked at us was unnerving. Did we just get scammed?
The man had quickly processed mom's card and completed our purchase. "It was a pleasure doing business with you! Have a nice day." He said as he completed our orders. We walked out of the building, both me and Alize were staring at the new technology in our hands. I'm not especially great with it, but Alize seems to understand how to use them well enough. I guess it'll come all in due time. We sat in the car, I took the passenger seat while Aiz took the back seat on the driver's side. As we were about to click our seatbelts, I almost forgot that I forgot to ask Alize what she wanted to do. "Oh, Aiz!"
She jumped in her seat in the back as I suddenly yelled. "W-what?" She asked. She looked at me confused. Ahh~! Even like this she's just so cute~!
"Oh, sorry. Mom raised a question earlier." I said, hyping up the next part. "Do you wanna go to the beach first? We can bond with our pokemon and maybe even catch another while we're there!" I said. Mom definitely had a point, I don't know when Chimchar will evolve so having a water type pokemon would be for the best. And didn't Aiz say water type pokemon were like the meta for contests or something like that?
"Ooh! That sounds like a great idea! When are we going?" Aiz responded back to me cheerfully. I knew she would be on board with this.
"I was going to head there now if you were fine with it." Mom answered her question. "Depending on how long you girls want to stay there, I'll get us a room to stay in. Or I can just let you girl's be on your merry way to do your own thing." Mom started the car and started pulling out of the parking lot.
"Yeah, that's fine. I just want to spend some more time with you before we really have to say goodbye. And, maybe, you know, catching another water pokemon would be nice too." Alize said as she started to think about it more. She started to wander off into lala land again thinking about who knows what.
"Aww, thank you Aiz!" Mom said as she feigned tears in her eyes.
"Oh! Mom! Can we ride with our pokemon?! Now would be a perfect time to start to get to know them!" I asked excitedly. After all, there's no time like the present.
Alize and Mom both just deflated as if I just killed the mood with a fork. *sigh* "Dear, you still suck at reading the room. Piplup can come out, but Chimchar will have to stay inside his ball for just a little longer." Mom answered me almost defeatedly. Alize cheered as I looked at her with shock.
"What! Why can't he come out?" I yelled. What the hell!? Why does she get to let her pokemon out?
"Honey, think a little. He's a fire type pokemon. Us being in this small space, he'll keep the car hot as long as he's out." Mom said. Oh yeah, that does make sense.
"Oh, yeah. I guess that does make sense. *sigh* Fine." I resigned our fate to mom's rules. "But I'm getting back there with you." I said while I unbuckled my seat and climbed to the back. Struggling to squeeze over there, I grabbed Aiz's hand in mine and interlocked our fingers. "This is mine, 'I'm not done holding it yet."' I quoted her from earlier this morning. Mom just smiled at us through her rear view mirror. I could've sworn I saw Aiz start to blush as I did. She fumbled her hands as she reached for her pokemon to release her.
"Oh, you girls are just so cute together~!" I'm going to miss watching the two of you get along." Mom said as she kept stealing glances at us as she drove.
Alize's pokeball released itself and Piplup materialized itself on her lap. Without a second of hesitation, Alize wrapped her remaining arm around her and cuddled it to her chest. "Ohoho~! God you're so cute Piplup!" She screamed. I don't know why, but a lightning fast jolt of jealousy spread throughout me. I squeezed Aiz's hand and leaned against her shoulder, also trying to garner her attention.
"She really is cute! Like Pokemon like Trainer, am I right Mom?" I said as I reached out to stroke the blue bird's head. It cooed as it received the attention its species is known for wanting.
Mom stifled some giggles as we continued our interaction. I think mom is hiding something from us, but I don't really care enough to try and pry it out of her. "Well? I know Zinnia is planning on becoming the best trainer of Sinnoh, but what are you going to do on this adventure Alize?" Mom asked.
"M-me? Well, I was thinking of trying out some Pokemon contests. You really got me hooked on watching them with you at night. So, I figured I should at least try it out for myself at least once to see if I might like doing them just as much as I like watching them. And if that doesn't work out, I was also planning on knocking out a few pokemon gyms just to say I was able to do it." Aiz replied. She was staring down at Piplup with dreamy eyes and red cheeks the entire time.
Cute. I turned to look at mom in the eyes through the mirror before saying anything. "Best trainer in the world! Put some respect on it, Mom. These are my dreams, and I'm gonna have it done in a Flash! Just you wait!" I corrected her mistake.
Mom just grinned at me and rolled her eyes exaggeratedly. "Yeah, yeah. My mistake dear. I know you'll do great no matter what you do, so go out there and make me proud! Just make sure to keep me in the loop, okay?" She said flatly. "Which reminds me… How exactly do you think being the strongest entails?" She then asked me somewhat seriously.
"Well of course you know about the seasonal tournaments every region has. And then you also have the Elite Four challenges with each region's reigning champions. Like the most powerful of them all Cynthia, queen of all queens, boss of all girl bosses. But then you also have the Battle Frontier Brains, who battle with heavy restrictions during their battles. I'm going to do it all! I might even try my hand in a few contests later. You know, to bring out the inner beauty of my pokemon as I battle." I answered her as passion turned into fiery flames in my veins.
"My, what an aspiring young lady I'veraised! I know you get that side of you from your father. Speaking of which, have you spoken to him lately? He's been bothering me non-stop asking about you, you know?" Mom both praised and questioned me.
"I have, I called him just like… Three days ago? I think? I've been so preoccupied preparing for today, it kinda slipped my mind to call him and tell him the news. By the way, give me his number, I'll add him to our phone now!"

2 hours later
Alize's pov:
We finally arrived in Sandgem city, I checked our phone and it read 11:54. My hand still held my best friend and her mom was still smiling as she had still kept stealing glances at us through the rear view mirror. I know she knows my feelings for her daughter. In fact, she even told me she did a few years back. I'm glad I have them supporting me, but… I still can't rectify their trust in me. It's not that I don't want to, because trust me, I do! But, I just can't risk staining our friendship with a blemish by asking her out. What if she says no? What if she starts to feel awkward around me or hates me? I can't stand even the thought of Zinnia not being in my life. I would kill myself is she didn't want to be around me anymore. My life would have no purpose.
The sole reason I exist is to follow her and watch as she grows as a person, glowing like that radiant ray of light she always has been since we were babies. She's always had this passion and resolution about where she wants to be and what she wants to do. Her confidence in every action she takes, her dedication towards everything in preparation for today. Everything, I love everything about her. She is so cute no matter what she wears or how she does her hair, her carefree demeanor when losing interest in something, her shyness when talking to strangers…
*sigh* She's just so perfect… Even her imperfections make her better. She's more beautiful today than she has ever been. Her vibrant smile, her excitement, everything she has been dreaming of is finally coming true today! I'm so happy I witnessed this with her today. She is my everything. I just want her to be happy, more than anything in the world! Even if it means keeping my feelings for her locked away forever, I will try to make everything she wants a reality. She just needs to keep staying by my side, that's all I ask for.
"Alright ladies! We're finally here! Who's ready to go shopping~!" Zinnia's mom called out excitedly. I've spent so much time at their house that she might as well be my mom as well. Nat always treated me like her own daughter anyways. She's always been super kind to me, or well, everyone that she talks to. She is the type of person to give the shirt off her own back and give it to someone in need during the middle of a thunderstorm. She does have her moments where she's in a bad mood, and trust me, it's like being in the den of starving Pyroar.
"Oh thank god. We didn't pack a swim suit for this trip. Thought it would be more of a hindrance since Sinnoh doesn't have that many beaches throughout it." Zinnia said as she leaned against my arm. Oh how I wish she would stay like this forever.
"Yeah, space is limited and we wanted to travel as lightly as we could." I added to Zin's statement. Though, I'm sure Nat already knows this because she's already gone and went through her adventure.
"I know. I didn't bring one myself and I'm the one who invited you here. So don't worry about the price, I'll pay for them, you girl's just enjoy yourselves and pick out something cute for each other, okay?" Nat told us. No doubt she was giving me another chance. The thought of Zinny in a bikini… What a beautiful world we live in…
"Loud and clear mom! I'll make sure to pretty up our precious doll here. I'll leave you speechless!" Zinnia said, looking at me mischievously. Cute. A warm feeling crossed my cheeks as I turned my attention to Piplup who was asleep in my arms. Ah! It's no use! Everywhere I look, I'm surrounded by cuteness! My face blushed furiously. I jerked my head to face out the window in a last ditch effort to hide from Zinnia.
There were a lot more buildings here since the last time I had been here. It's been like what? Six years since I last came through this town? Well, it's not really a surprise. It was a small town to begin with. Then, to top it all off, it offered a beach so it was only a matter of time until Sinnoh started to cultivate the land here into a tourist trap. "Speaking of which, how long are you wanting to spend here?" I asked to throw the attention elsewhere. I wouldn't mind spending all day here with you…
Zinnia put a finger to her chin and thought for a while. Cute. "Hmm. I don't know. I really want to hit the road as soon as possible and catch some pokemon, but I highly doubt we'll want to after spending all day at the beach. I know swimming takes a lot out of you, so let's start tomorrow?" a surprisingly intelligent and responsible response uttered from her mouth.
"So you girls want to stay for the day? I'm fine with that. Today will be like a graduation party before you fully leave!" Nat cheered. She was full of glee today. I'm sure it's like a double edged sword for her though. On one hand she has to say goodbye to her troublesome and spontaneous daughter, but on the other she gets to say goodbye to her adorable and loving daughter. "I can show you how to book a room at a pokemon center properly while we stay the night here too!"
Zinnia's ears visibly twitched at the sound of that. I guess that piqued her interest a little. Cute. "Really? Is it not as simple as going in and asking for a room to stay in?" Zinnia asked, completely oblivious to how things in the world really worked.
*sigh* "Thank god you're going with her Alize… I didn't know she was lacking common sense this badly…" My second mom murmured to herself dejectedly. She didn't answer Zinnia's question which led to her just repeatedly calling her name in various ways, purposely trying to piss her off. It worked.
A few minutes passed by and Nat had found the newly built Mall near the beach. I saw an advertisement as we pulled in about it having two stories underground as well? From what I saw from the car, it was probably about four or five stories high. We spent a few more minutes just trying to find an available parking spot. We were making no progress, which was getting even further away from our goal as Rush hour started to begin as well.
"I'm just going to drop you girls off at the front. I'll find a parking spot, you girls go out and have fun. I'll call you when I'm ready to meet up." Nat said. Zin and I got out of the car, hand in hand as always. Immediately we were greeted by a salty breeze and some sunny rays. It was almost like the world itself was happy to have us here. I couldn't care less if some people looked at us weird, in fact, I'd rather they get the wrong idea. Less people to get in our way. Zinnia's beauty usually attracts so much unwanted attention that it can be a drag in crowded areas. If it's not some guys thinking they're hot shit, it's definitely some pushy salesman thinking they'll pull her into a scam for fashion.
We walked into the blessed air conditioned mall. The smell of various vendors greeted our noses as the doors closed behind us. There were people everywhere, some dressed fashionably, others only half dressed because of the aforementioned nearby beach. There was an abundance of pokemon all around as well. Regardless, there were bound to be some flirts around that would like to try and push their luck with her. A statistical fact was inevitable. Zinnia is just that cute, I don't blame them, but learn your place damn it! She's mine! Can't you see our hands!? Better idea… I let go of Zin's hand only to grip it again after locking our arms once more.
Zinnia gave me a quizzical look, but I just flashed her an unconcerned smile. Sensing I wasn't going to say anything, she just shrugged and hugged my arm. The press of her cheek and her mini melons squished against my arm. I couldn't help but smile as Zinnia played her part in my plan even better than I had planned for. If for some reason some lucky fuck stain still has the gall to come pester us, I'm really gonnaflip my shit. They'll be lucky to be accepted into a psych ward after I'm done with them. The mere thought of some guy coming along and ruining the mood pissed me off to no end.
But then again, Zinnia made the first effort and latched onto me. I couldn't stay mad when she was being this affectionate today. I should be rejoicing that she's allowing me to be this intimate with her in public. We continued our way past multiple stores of various kinds. Technology stores, a playground, toy stores, jewelry stores, just about everything you'd imagine. Part of the reason I needed to lock Zinnia's arm with mine was so that I could keep a better reign on her before she could enter any clothes store. Don't get me wrong, her ADHD hyperfixation on fashion was adorable and I love seeing her try on new fits, but if I allowed her into even just one, the whole day would be over before we ever made it to the beach.
Everytime we passed by a clothes store of any kind, she tapped on my arm excitedly, tugging and pulling on me trying to lead us into the store without any regard to the original reason we were here. "Zin, come on. We're here for swimsuits, not to dress slutty on the battlefield." I told her as she almost had me reeled into one of said stores.
"What!? I would argue that we ARE marching into a war zone! Beaches mean beautiful babes! Looking slutty and scandalous is what bikinis are literally made for!" Zin retorted. "So come on! It'll just be a sec!" she tugged, heels planted firmly as she pulled me stubbornly like a Tauros.
She had a point. Bikinis aren't so much clothes as they are underwear. The only differences being that they were made to be seen and to get wet. "Well, who said we had to get bikinis? A one-piece will do just fine." I countered her. This was just one bout of war we had to comply with before reaching our destination.
"Uh, me! I said we're getting bikinis! Not a snowball's chance in hell I'm going to waste the chance to show off your curves! You are going to wear one even if I have to put it on you myself!" She declared boldly. "Besides, you know I take pride in my god given ass my mama gave me! You'll thank me later when you decide to get dicked down by whichever lucky guy that suits your fancy. It'll be like window shopping for you!"
But I only want to fuck you! *sigh* But it's not like I can just say that to her. If only I had a dick, maybe then I'd have the balls to finally ask her out.Oh well, time to think of some other argument to keep her moving. … Damn. She actually put up a good argument this time. I don't even know how to fire back at her. I think she thinks too highly of me. My waist isn't as slim as hers and she most certainly has the better ass between the two of us. I stare at it all the time, I should know better than anyone. The weight of my chest is all I have her beat in in the beauty department.
"But I don't wanna…" I complained like a little kid. Unbefitting of my age and especially our size difference, but I think my exaggeration was needed to get my point across. It was the only thing I could come up with since I couldn't beat her reasoning. "Besides, I'd prefer to keep your ass all to myself than to give it to some stranger…" I thought. Or, at least I thought I thought I did. Zinnia went quiet, whether it was to ignore me or to formulate a way to convince me, I don't know.
"F-fine. We'll just have to come back some other time then." She said as she turned away from. Her eyes were watching the store get further and further away each step we took. A red tint smeared her cheeks as she began to pout. Even when she's acting childish like this, she's just so irresistibly cute! I'm thankful for her compliance with my wishes. That seriously would've put us red in time.
"Should we pick out something for Nat as well? You two definitely share the same genes, so whatever looks good on you will look good on her too I bet." I asked as my eyes scanned for any predatorios men on the prowl. Thankfully they all seem to be hiding still or taken already. I'm really just making an excuse to gaze at her sexy body more with less clothes on. But she doesn't need to know that part.
"I guess we could do that. But I don't want anybody trying to be my new step dad, so I'll probably stick with a one-piece for her." Zinnia said as she finally stopped feigning sadness.
The lord has bestowed me with a front row seat to a bikini fashion show with a goddess. Mercy on thy soul, and god bless… "I don't know, your mom's still quite the bomb shell even at her age. I'm not sure that will be enough to hamper the horniness of older guy's." I complimented my second mother. But it was true, she didn't look a day over 30. I'm not sure if it was hereditary or some miracle drug, but it was a miracle. As expected of the mother of this…Queen I'm friends with. God has favorites and so do I. Based taste, big G. the Almighty Arceus.
"I know! How the hell she's stayed loyal to my dad despite this long distance crap is a miracle to me! Men just throw themselves at her and she swats them away like Cutiefly's, it's always been impressive to me." Zinnia zoned out to the thought.
Honestly, she's right. Natalie is very pretty and the long distance relationship… I can only imagine how hard it must be on her. And after seeing some of the men who did try to rizz her up, let's just say love must be one hell of a drug to keep her loyalty that strong. Well, I can sorta relate to her in that sense. There's nothing that can make me not love Zinnia in the same way. I don't know what would happen to me if I had to stay away from her as long as Nat has with her husband. That is some true girl power will power.
"Great! I'll send her a text saying we've got her covered." I told her. Zinnia was still staring blankly, so I sent off the message as swiftly as I could. When I pulled my eyes off the tiny screen, I was graced by the sight of the best merchandise mankind has ever invented. Soft, fluffy and cute plushies! *heavy breathing* Is that the limited edition Sakura Hatsune Miku plushie! I've got to have it!
Almost like a sixth sense, Zinnia snapped from her stupor and realized where we headed. Instantly reacting, Zinnia started to back peddle. Her resistance did little to slow my stride towards my beloved plushies. "Wait! Heel! Snap out of it Aiz! I know Miku's cute, but you have to save some money for our swimsuits!" Zinnia screamed as she struggled fruitlessly while chained to my side.
"No! Swim suits don't even compare to the greatness of Sakura Miku! The mere comparison of them is an insult to her holiness!" I barked back at her, seething with unkempt cute aggression. Apparently Piplup was not enough to contain all this excess energy. I must have her!
"B-but Alize, what about the necessities for our adventure! We can't travel without food and water!" Zinnia raised her concerns.
"Nonsense! Miku is the most important and fundamental necessity to have on your person! She must come with us!" I can't believe I had to explain this to her. This was just common sense. I can't believe I actually had to explain this to her.
"But..but…What if I said I already bought her for your birthday!" Zinnia lied through her teeth as a last ditch effort.
…What? No way, she couldn't have… Right? She hasn't been on sale for over 3 years now… And if I'm not mistaken, that's the silk version only released in Kanto live at her 3d concert…There's just no way she could have… I was stun locked at her confession. Frozen on the spot, I couldn't help but doubt the love of my life and factual evidence proving otherwise. My mind refused to let me press onward as the math refused to math right in my head.
"Y-yeah! I wanted to give it to you this year for Christmas or something because I know you love Miku and missed the chance to go see her live when we were too young to go by ourselves. So… I wanted to surprise you…" Zinnia continued her fib. Even if it was a lie, the thought of her thinking that deeply about me was hard enough to refute. My eyes shaked as I had to make the hardest decision of my life. Look away from Miku and accept defeat here or to press onward and claim one of the most important figures of my life for myself.
My body was tense and my heart ached. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place here figuratively speaking. I… I don't know… Is this the first trial of my love for either of them? Is this part of the struggle Natalie has to face everyday when she's alone without her husband?
*Smooch*
A small wet cushion pressed my cheek softly. It was warm and left a sweet lingering aroma. I felt the tension in my muscles lose strength and control returned to my brain once more. I looked towards Zinnia who was blushing furiously, fidgeting her hands behind her back cutely just as she did back in the lab earlier today. Ah… How could I ignore the pleas of the goddess I currently possess. How silly of me to lose myself like this. I recognized instantly what had happened. If I had to confess, I'd say this was her most brilliant plan ever to snap me back to reality.
She kissed me. Wait…She kissed me? OH MY GOD SHE KISSED ME!? "Z-Zinina? W-w-what's w-wrong? What are y-you…" I stammered over myself as the real realization started to sink in. The view of her red face which was both grinning cheekily and embarrassedly irked me in conflicting ways. On one hand she was the epitome of cute, but on the other she was teasing me in a way she didn't know that hurt. She still doesn't know about my feelings for her, so kissing is way too much for me to handle as just friends. This is so unfair! If I knew she was willing to kiss, I would've been doing that with her much sooner!
Author's note: You're still here? Thank you! Before I lose anyone else and before I get any questions, yes there will be lesbian content. No it will not be the only content. So, if you like this kinda stuff, cool, if you don't you probably might want to leave because my main pair are these 2 if you haven't noticed already. With that said, I hope you look forward to the beach episode next chapter!
