Mutant Kung Fu Tortoise
The Black Tortoise stood facing the foot in a combat position with his spear. The turtles were shocked at who came to save them, their mouths dropped and eyes widened.
"Did he just say he's the Black Tortoise?!" Asked Donnie.
"Yeah, he did, brainiac." Replied Raph.
"Please tell me I'm not seeing this! Someone pinch me!" Exclaimed Mikey.
"It's real, Mikey!" Shouted Leo. "Let's step back and let him handle this."
"Whatever you say, Fearless." Said Raph. "I love watching some action."
The foot looked uneasy, especially the initiates. Jennika simply glared at this strange new foe.
"Do not fear, students, this strange new freak has decided to face us alone. Only together can you kill him." Said one of the supervisors.
"Yes sensei." Replied one novice.
"Should be a piece of cake. Just a tortoise with a spear." Said another brash-fully.
"Remember, guys, we gotta face him together." Said Jennika narrowing her eyes and holding up her claws. "He's dead meat, tonight!"
"Just because there are four of you doesn't mean you have the advantage." Said the tortoise. "Numbers aren't everything."
"Shut up and die, turtle freak!" Shouted the brash novice as he and the other foot ninja slowly moved forward.
The Black Tortoise glared hard, enraged that he has been called the wrong species.
"For the last time, I'm a tortoise!" The black scaled mutant yelled before making his first move.
The mutant jumped towards his enemies and swatted two novices that charged right in front of him with his spear. He then kept the initiate wielding tonfas at bay by repeatedly thrusting his spear at him. The novice was able to block and deflect the tortoise's attacks, until the latter swept him off his feet making him fall to the ground. The tortoise then followed by skewering the novice in the chest with his spear, killing him. Another initiate then attacked from the side with his chain sickle. He managed to grab the spear with ball end of his weapon, but that proved to be a fatal mistake because after a brief struggle, the tortoise pulled back hard, making the novice stumble towards his enemy and be impaled by the spear, ending his life. Another initiate with a sword then immediately attempted to jump and cut down the mutant from behind, but the tortoise sensed this and back kicked him away. Right after the novice recovered, the ninja attempted to charge at his opponent with his sword, but he was kept at bay with the tortoise's multiple spear thrusts. The ninja was kept on the defensive by the thrusts, and was getting fatigued. He attempted to block another attack but the spear shoved away his sword and stabbed right through one of the ninja's knees. The novice then fell in agony, permanently crippled by the sudden injury.
Meanwhile, Jennika stood by as her fellow novices were taken down. Not out of cowardice, but to study this new enemy. She narrowed her eyes and she studied the tortoise's fighting style and techniques.
"This freak appears to be using a Chinese spear with the many thrusts and sweeps he's made. Nothing like how we sparred with our own spears." Though Jennika. "I must steer clear of his sweeps, and when the time is right, I must get past the spear tip and destroy his weapon during his thrusts."
The turtles were amazed by the tortoise's skill.
"Damn! He's good with that spear." Commented Raph.
"Yeah, that's totally radical, dude!" Said Mikey.
"He's using his weapon with such grace and skill, it's almost beautiful." Admired Leo.
"I hear you, Leo. Staffs may be cool, but spears are something else." Said Donnie.
The Black Tortoise turned towards Jennika.
"I would surrender if I were you, young one." The tortoise said.
"I'd rather die honorably than flee in disgrace!" Jennika shouted before making her move.
The blonde Kunoichi jumped to avoid the spear sweeps and blocked, evaded, and deflected the thrusts with her claws. Waiting for the perfect moment, Jennika evaded a spear thrust past it and brought down her right claw downward and sliced the spear in half followed by a spinning kick to the chest, forcing him back! The turtles were shocked, Jennika smirked, but more surprisingly, the tortoise was completely unmoved by this surprise attack. He held the lower spear shaft and the spearhead in a fighting stance, ready to continue the fight.
Jennika rushed forward full of energy and confidence that her opponent's weapon has a much shorter range now and that it would work in her favor. But after a while of clashing blades and wood, the blonde was proven wrong as she was sliced across her chest with the spear end and side kicked back. Luckily for the kunoichi, the wound wasn't deep, but she was more enraged than hurt. She got up and was about to engage her enemy again when her masters called her.
"That's enough Jennika!" Said one of the supervisors. "You have done quite enough."
"But masters, I got him!" Argued Jennika.
"Do not question us, novice! We said stand down!" Shouted another master.
"We came here to test you and your classmates against the turtles. Not some unknown tortoise freak." Said a third.
"Which is why we decided to deal with this mutant ourselves as well as the turtles. One of us will help you gather the wounded and return to headquarters while we test ourselves again the tortoise." Said the first supervisor.
"As you wish, masters." Jennika said, bowing.
Jennika picked up her surviving crippled classmate over her shoulders while one of the supervisors retrieved the unconscious master that was stabbed and taken down by Raphael. They then left the scene, leaving the remaining masters with the mutants.
"You defeated the students, now you face the masters!" Said one of the masters.
"Skill and rank, aren't always everything." The Tortoise said as he held up his shaft and spear head.
Two of the ninja rushed forward, only to be taken down by a single hurricane kick. However, the first attack turned out to be a distraction as the tortoise was suddenly met with a volley of shuriken stars. The mutant deflected most of the projectiles but some managed to hit his arms, shoulders, and even one of his legs. The tortoise winced in pain but did not falter. He took out some of the stars from his wounds and to the ninja's shock as well as the turtle's, the wounds closed up. The tortoise retaliated by throwing the spear into the ninja's chest, killing him.
"What?! This guy heals fast too!?" Said Raph.
"I thought only Ben had a wolverine healing factor." Said Mikey.
"But if this mutant can heal, then that means..." Donnie said.
"The rest of the four are fast healers too. There's still much they've yet to reveal to us." Finished Leo.
Suddenly one of the last remaining ninjas recovered and tried to attack from behind but the tortoise sensed it and swiftly sliced across the attacker's throat, finishing him. The last ninja then got back up and seeing all his comrades down, he feels fear, but he dares not to retreat or to face the foot leaders wrath, so he held out his sword, and charged. The two combatants clashed weapons until the ninja tried to take the tortoise's legs but the latter jumped and struck him in the face with the wooden spear shaft, making him stumble back close to the building's edge. The mutant finished him by impaling him through the throat with the spear blade, before pulling back and letting the corpse fall into the alley below.
The turtles were amaze at the tortoise's skill and cheered for his victory, while the mutant removed the rest of the ninja stars from his body.
"That was amazing!" Said Donnie.
"Sure showed those bastards who's boss!" Said Mikey.
"Badass!" Said Raph.
"Well fought warrior." Congratulated Leo.
"Thanks, guys. Don't know who you are, only that you're the good guys which is why I helped." Said the Black Tortoise.
Donnie looked at the broken pieces of the tortoise's spear.
"Sorry about your weapon, buddy." Donnie apologized. "I can make you a new one if you like."
"No need." The mutant replied before something unexpected happened.
The mutant held both parts of his broken weapon and closed his eyes. The splintered fragments of the spear suddenly began to move and in a moment began to fly up to the center of the spear and mended into the two parts until the spear eventually became a single pole arm again. The turtles were once again shocked with wide eyes and open mouths.
"Wow! Totally radical!" Said Mikey.
"I was wondering what element you control." Said Donnie.
"I knew you're one of the Four Stars." Said Leo.
The Black Tortoise's eyes widened at what the fearless leader just said.
"How did you all know about the Four Stars?!" Demanded the tortoise.
"That would be thanks to us." A voice said.
The rest of the Four, Ben, Maggie, and Jet suddenly arrived and are shocked and surprised at the sight of the tortoise.
"So it's true, the Fourth and final Star has finally made an appearance." Ben said.
"I finally found you too." Replied the tortoise. "Well, I went out to try and look for you three when I found these guys fighting a bunch of black clad ninjas."
"They're our friends, but I don't know about the dead ones." Explained Maggie.
"Who even were those guys anyway?" Jet asked the turtles.
"Those were members of the Foot Clan. Our oldest and most deadly adversaries." Leo explained grimly.
"Yeah, these guys are no joke. They nearly killed us many times in the past." Added Mikey.
"And we nearly got our asses kicked earlier too." Added Raph still holding his wound on his plastron.
"Thankfully this guy showed up and saved our shells just in time." Said Donnie.
Ben looked at the bodies then at the Black Tortoise's spear. Then the Azure Dragon smirked, having a good idea about this mutant's true identity.
"I know only one person who can have such skill and grace with the spear. And he was considered the champion of pole arm combat." Said Ben. "Am I correct, Sam?"
The Black Tortoise's eyes widened, but then chucked.
"I knew it was you, Ben!" Sam said before he and Ben hugged it out.
"Oh I remember now! Sam's one of the top students of our school alongside us and has competed and won in some of the tournaments we've been in!" Said Jet the Tiger. "How you been, buddy?"
"Never better, Jet." Answered Sam.
"Guys, I think we should get out of here. Save this conversation for later." Said Maggie.
"Maggie's right. We've been here long enough. Raph needs medical attention." Leo said looking at the Foot corpse and then at Raphs claw wound on his plastron.
"I can help with his wound." Said Ben. "I have just learned a technique that can be of some use."
"Then let's go." Said Donne before all eight mutant head to the lair.
That was yet Another badass introduction of a new character. And the Fourth and last Star no less!
He's got some moves with that spear of his for sure. And we even learn his name.
Jennika has put up quite a fight too, for a novice. Yet what will happen when she stands before her lord and master after her fight? What does the future hold for her?
And how will Ben help Raphael wound?
And what will the Four Stars do now that they have been reunited?
