Chapter 6: A Piece of the Past
Sky Warrior, 2 Hours Later
It was approaching dusk in the skies of Mobius as the Sky Warrior flew through the orange tinted skyline.
Everyone on the ship was eating dinner.
The meal was grilled chicken, baked beans, and corn on the Cobb.
"Man, I can't believe Egghead got the first emerald." Sonic said in disbelief.
"Don't worry, Sonic, we'll still get the rest." Amy told him, placing a hand on her husband's shoulder.
Sonic smiled.
"You're right, Ames. We'll get him." Sonic stated as he got up and put his plate in the dishwasher. "I'm going to spend time with my daughter."
"I'll join you." Amy said, kissing his cheek.
"Come on, Knuckie. Karson and Precious are probably dying to see us."
Rouge grabbed her husband's arm and dragged him toward the kid's room.
Shadow and Blaze followed suit.
"I'm going to try out the video games. I hope they're better than the ones in the future. Marine, Maria, wanna join me?" Silver asked.
"Count me in, mate!" Marine exclaimed.
"I'll watch." Maria chipped in, leaving Tails and Cream alone.
"You know, I have a feeling everyone left us alone on purpose." Tails joked.
"I wouldn't doubt it, but it means I can do this."
Cream walked over, sat in Tails' lap, and kissed him.
"Whoa, this is new." Tails whispered in a daze of joy.
"Well, I thought you would like it." Cream whispered back, tracing her finger over Tails' chest fur. "Tails?"
"Yes, Cream?"
"Do you know how we've talked about, you know, having sex?"
"Y-yeah, I do." Tails quietly replied, blushing madly.
"When this is all over, do you wanna try?"
"C-cream, I, uh, to be honest, yes I do. Plus, isn't your 16th birthday coming up?"
"Yes."
"How about then? You'll be 16, it's perfect!" Tails exclaimed.
"It'll be the best birthday present." Cream pecked his lips.
"Oh, yeah."
Kid's Room
"Sarah, how would you feel about being a big sister?" Sonic asked his daughter.
"I would love to be a big sis, Daddy!" Sarah practically jumped for joy.
"I'm going to talk to your mom about it." Sonic winked at Sarah and walked away to find Amy.
"H-hey, Sarah." Karson said, waking up to the young lavender hedgehog.
"Oh, hey Karson, how are ya?" Sarah asked with a small blush on her cheeks.
"I'll be better when my mom stops trying to smother me with kisses." He replied with a pout face.
"She just loves you."
"That's true, but isn't that what Dads are for?"
"What do you mean?" Sarah asked with a confused look on her face.
"Aren't Dads' jobs to love our mommies?"
"Well, yea, I think so, and they are supposed to love their children, too."
"Well, that sounds right."
Precious appeared.
"Karson, come back over here. Hey, Sarah!" Precious said.
"Hey, Precious!" Sarah waved.
"Fine, I'm coming. Bye, Sarah." Karson sighed as he let his little sister drag him away.
Hallway
"Amy?"
"What is it, Sonic?" The pink hedgehog asked with curiosity.
"I want another."
"Another what?"
"Another child."
Amy's face lit up like a Christmas Tree.
"Really?"
Sonic nodded in response.
"Oh, Sonic, you have no idea how long I've waited for you to say that!" Amy exclaimed, jumping into Sonic's arms.
"I figured you would say that." Sonic smirked.
"Want to get a head start?" Amy whispered seductively.
Sonic replied as he carried Amy back to their room.
Next Morning
"Ok, guys, I've figured out the location of the second Chaos Emerald, Mirage Saloon Zone." Tails said.
Sonic froze.
"You good, Sonic?" Knuckles asked.
"Y-yeah, just had a thought cross my mind."
"What?" Shadow questioned.
"My parents said that I may have family out here." Sonic breathed out.
"Really? Silver asked. "What kind of family?"
"Brother and sister that I've never met before."
"Sonic, you need to find them." Amy said.
"Finding the Chaos Emeralds is more important. We don't have time to look, especially since Eggman is an emerald up on us. Plus, even if we did have time, I wouldn't know where to look." Sonic answered.
Suddenly, the Sky Warrior rumbled.
"What was that?" Blaze asked, paranoid due to her fear of flying.
"We must be under attack! Everyone get ready!" Tails yelled as he headed back to the cockpit.
Rouge and Marine headed to the laser cannon stations, while Sonic and Shadow made their way outside on the wings.
"Egg Flappers looking for a fight!" Sonic grinned.
"Don't get too cocky, Faker." Shadow told him.
"Hey, remember who you're talking to."
The battle was on!
Sonic and Shadow attacked the best they could.
Rouge and Marine were being the most effective, getting actual hits in.
It was all going to plan.
Then, an Egg Flapper landed a hit on the wing Sonic was standing on, causing the Blue Blur to lose his balance and plummet to the sandy ground below.
"Oh, shit! Sonic!" Shadow yelled.
He hopped back inside.
"Tails, we lost Sonic!"
"What do you mean we lost Sonic?" Tails yelled from the cockpit.
"One of the Egg Flapper attacks landed, and the force of the attack caused Sonic to fall off." Shadow explained.
"What!" Amy panicked. "We need to land now!"
"We don't have a choice! I need to fix the wing!" Tails yelled as the Sky Warrior began to descend into the arid sands of Mirage Saloon Zone.
"Mommy, is Daddy ok?" Sarah hugged her mom, now fearful due to her father's disappearance.
"I don't know, Sarah, but you're father's tough! Sonic will make it back, I just know it!"
