"In the vastness of the multiverse, you know that nothing is permanent. Nothing can remain the same across all of time and space." The Watcher whispered as he looked into the main universe. "You know the story of Earth-1, now dubbed Earth Prime." Spider-Man and Flash running to save the day is shown as they race towards an issue. "But what some don't recall was where Peter Parker was before Barry Allen woke up."
Peter and Oliver were fighting to save the city from Slade and his army of Mirakuru soldiers.
"Peter needed a break from his city and decided to go to a friend who he thought would understand. Ending up fighting to save the lives of the whole city. A hero's work is never done."
Then he moved to this new timeline and showed how Spider-Man and Guiding Light were fighting to save the city from not Mirakuru soldiers. In this world, they were fighting against a breakout of criminals.
"Guiding Light and Spider-Man were the ones to help save the city of Starling City from the chaos." The Watcher explained as he showed the various fights between Spider-Man and Guiding Light fighting off terrorists over the years threatening Starling City, including the lights of Damien Darhk, The 100, and Ricardo Diaz. "The influence these two left on these criminals was different from that of Oliver Queen. None of them were killed, some of them even surrendered and decided to plead guilty for their crimes. Little did he know that these actions would one day save the world."
The Watcher stood steadfast, observing the heroes' every move as they delved deep into the mystery of the Adaptoids, determined to uncover any clues that would help them locate the parts. They spent countless hours analyzing every aspect of the mechanical drones, examining everything from the intricate copper wiring to the advanced cameras embedded within them, yet their efforts yielded little results. Despite their lack of progress, the heroes remained resolute, holding onto the belief that discovering the manufacturer would ultimately lead them to the creator of the Adaptoids.
However, as they continued to investigate, it became clear that the problem they faced was not a lack of information, but rather an overwhelming abundance of it. Every new piece of information they uncovered seemed to lead them to about a dozen manufacturers scattered around the world, each one responsible for creating their own unique fragment of the Adaptoids.
The heroes were left to sift through a seemingly endless sea of personal creations, with no way of knowing where to look next. Despite the challenge, they refused to give up, dedicating themselves to the task at hand and determined to uncover the truth, no matter how elusive it may be.
"So, after a thorough investigation into all of the fragments of the Adaptoids that were salvaged from your fight at the Power Plant, we have found there is nothing here that can lead to someone specific."
"Yeah, everything here is basically store-bought down to the wires," Bette confirmed. "The coding is something we couldn't get into, so we couldn't see if there was any indication of who made it."
"Nothing here can help us find anything?" Susan asks.
"Well, when we dug deeper, we found this," Cisco said as he showed them some sort of device that was within the systems. "This is a specific government-issued device."
"What is it?" Peter wonders.
"It's basically a program that allows a programmable device to copy the Inhuman/Metahuman genome that allows them to be granted powers."
"That must be how the Adaptoids got your powers." Caitlin guessed.
"And why it can't copy sorcery," Peter stated. "Magic is something you learn, not something you obtain."
"It came from ARGUS, the not-so-friendly version of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Bette explained to them. "Ram into them a few times with the government, and let's say they're not the nicest bunch. The woman in charge is a psychopath in her own right."
"And from what Jennifer was able to get for us with her connections, the project was dubbed the Anti-Metahuman Adaptive Zootomic Organism." Caitlin finished explaining what she found.
"A-M-A-Z-O?" Cisco asked when he heard the name. Then they saw the blueprints from the schematics of the device. "AMAZO?"
"That was the big one from the police station," Susan commented as she recognized the robot in the blueprints.
"Yeah, the one who wanted the list of Inhumans and Metahumans in the city," Peter confirmed. "Well, if this was a government-funded experiment, Maybe we can find something from the lead scientist using this stuff."
"Yeah, good luck with that..." Cisco stated as he pulled up the developer.
"What does that mean?" Johnny asks.
"Anthony Ivo was found dead in his home, and all of his research on the subject of AMAZO was stolen," Bette explained and showed them Ivo's body.
His body looked like he was flung across his home office, someone likely breaking in through the window, and then threw Ivo across the room and against his desk where he was...scorched to the point of being unrecognizable.
"My god," Peter whispered in horror.
"Yeah, I am seriously getting some serious Fire Lord vibes from this guy," Cisco said in horror.
"What about colleagues?" Peter asks. "Is there any way that someone else knew about the project?"
"Nope," Bette confirmed with a look of fear. "Anyone who knew about the project was found dead within the following weeks."
"So, this guy seems to know what he's doing, and he's willing to do anything to keep his tracks hidden," Peter said as he sighed. "Okay, this guy has to be smart enough to either have discovered or at least learn about the AMAZO project, or even had some involvement."
"What is that?" Susan asked when she noticed some sort of crystal substance on the android parts.
"Huh, we didn't see that during our scans," Cisco commented as he scanned the metal again, this time focusing on the specific area of the metal. "Whoa. That is traces of Terrigen particles."
"Terrigen?" Catilin asked.
"Inhumans," Peter stated as he immediately sent out a call for their friends in Attilan.
It didn't take long for them to answer the call, showing up in a blue holographic form.
"Fantastic Four." Medusa was quick to answer the call. Aside from her was Black Bolt as they were together at the time of the call. "What do we owe the pleasure?"
"We're dealing with a sort of threat on our end, and we found traces of Terrigen particles from Inhumans, wondered if you knew anything about that," Peter explained.
Medusa eyed her husband, wondering what he thought of sharing news with them. Seemed Black Bolt trusted them, especially after they saved his life, and she turned back to them.
"As you are aware, someone has been stealing Terrrigen Crystals from us." Medusa started.
"Yes, that is why we updated your security," Cisco confirmed they recalled that.
"But we learned later on that Inhumans themselves have begun disappearing a while after they leave Attilan," Medusa tells them. "We couldn't find any trace of who was taking them, and didn't know where to turn."
"So, the same person who is attacking us, and kidnapping Metahumans is also stealing Inhumans." Johnny was at a loss.
"Why kill the scientists, kidnap Metas, and then come for Inhumans, just to send those robots after Central City?" Ben asks. "I just don't get what we could have possibly done to upset someone."
"The one thing you gotta know about villains, Ben," Peter said as he had more experience with this area. "When you take down one big bad, everyone thinks if that they take you down, they will become the next big thing."
"Okay, well, there has to be something out there somewhere that can help us find this guy," Susan tells them. "I mean, this kind of power you can't just get overnight. It would require finding, intelligence, especially if he's working alone."
"And also, a big enough space to work in," Peter added. "Constantine did say that Dr. Doom was being held up in a castle somewhere."
"Where is John?" Bette wonders.
"Uh, think he said he had to step out for a minute to restock his laboratory of supplies," Peter told them.
"And you don't think that's dangerous?" Susan wonders.
"Don't worry. I have HERBIE watching his every move to keep him safe and sent Goose out with him." Peter assured her. "But we have to focus." He then got a text on his phone, getting him to stop and see who it was. "Uh, I gotta go. Call me if we get anything."
They watched as Peter left and was a little lost on what just happened. "He warns us to be focused on this, and...then he leaves?" Cisco clarified.
"I think he just needs some air." Susan shrugged.
Perched outside a café, Aurora's face lit up with a smile as Peter came into view. She relished these moments alone with him, away from Susan and their friends. Discovering his new association with a sorcerer only intensified her resolve to infiltrate their circle. Fortunately for her, Constantine appeared oblivious to her magical identity, which played to her advantage. This oversight allowed her to subtly weave a spell, gradually clouding Susan's perception of her intentions toward Peter.
"Hey, Amora." Peter greeted her as he made his way over.
Peter embraced her, and in response, Amora planted a kiss on his cheek. This simple act made Peter's heart swell with joy; he always felt a surge of contentment when Amora was near and showed him affection in such a manner. Although he usually would have voiced his feelings, he understood that this was Amora's unique way of greeting him. Besides, he couldn't help but adore the softness of her lips.
"Hey, Pete. How have things been going?" Amora asked as she and Peter took seats.
"Ah, it's been getting worse on the job, especially with the recent attacks from those robots attacking the city," Peter said with a sigh. He took his coffee and felt almost like a weight being lifted from his chest when he was around her. "It's getting harder to protect my assets, and my friends and family."
"Yeah, it's getting pretty scary in this city," Amora commented, showing signs of spook, but not really scared as she could handle anything. "And I thought Inhumans and Metahumans were the scariest things I'd need to deal with."
"Yeah, I know." Peter couldn't believe how crazy the city had become. "I'd just like one normal week without something new." His phone started to ring, and Peter was happy that he was winding down the meeting. He then pulled out his phone and saw it was an unknown number. "Go for Parker."
"Hello, Parker." Peter froze when he heard the voice of Damien Darhk on the other end of the call. "We need to talk."
"Who is it?" Amora asks.
"Just Parker luck," Peter says while he sighs, just wanting a full conversation with someone without something else happening.
Peter navigated his way to a nearby residence, arriving at an estate purportedly belonging to Damien Darhk via the FantasticCar. As he explored the perimeter, it became apparent that the place was deserted. Venturing further inside, he encountered Damien, who was standing contemplatively by the fireplace.
"You could have just knocked," Damien stated as he turned around, holding a glass in his hand. "You like a drink?"
Peter didn't respond, seemingly he was preparing himself for a fight.
"It's okay," Damien said as he raised his hands, placing the glass down. "I come in peace. I did not call you here for a fight."
"That only worries me more," Peter admitted. "When did you get out of prison?"
"A few months back," Damien said as he took his glass back. "Thanks for that, by the way."
"Well, I told you my lawyers could get you some good deals," Peter said as he looked around. "Seems like you've been playing nice, even in prison. No cameras?"
"God, no. I don't want anyone spying on me. Especially recently." Damien said.
Peter lifted and yanked his mask off, confusing Peter when he heard that. "So, I guess you've been hearing the rumors."
"Sorcerers start disappearing, and I'm not back in the game? Someone's hunting." Damien stated as he took a swig of his drink. "And it's been getting me concerned."
"Think that you'll be targeted?" Peter asked.
"Me?" Damien almost laughed at him. "God, no, I'm not worried about me. I'm worried about my daughter."
Peter remembered his daughter in the day. She was a sweet kid, who since she lost her dad was raised by her mother. He would check in on her when he had time, but he fell out of contact with her a while before the particle accelerator explosion. But he did know she had been living on her own after her mother's passing when she left for college.
"You think she'll be targeted?" Peter asks.
"More or less," Damien said as he placed his glass down. "I think that they'll come after her either because she could have possibly inherited my magic, or could at least be a conjuror of it. Or she could become a bargaining chip to get me to surrender myself."
"What exactly did you call me for, Damian?" Peter wonders.
"Well, let's say...back in the day..." Damien started to pour himself another drink. "I was tapped to the mystical world during my plan to conquer the world. You hear things. Rumors. And let's say I know a thing or two." He then approached Peter with a glass. "So, I propose a trade. I am worried about those robots coming after my daughter, so I need you and your new team to bring her for me."
"You think you can take an army of Adaptoids on?" Peter asks.
"Is that what you're calling them?" Damien asked as he passed the glass to Peter. "Feels a bit on the nose, don't you think?"
"We had a meeting, put it to a vote." Peter shrugged.
"Well, whatever the case...I have a spell that'll protect my home from intruders." Damien promises. "Once you bring Nora to me, I will raise the barrier, and nothing can get in or out. Well, unless it has the spell-caster's blood."
"So, only you and Nora can come and go as you please." Peter was starting to get it. "And what do I get out of this?"
"Information," Damien stated as he got to the bedrock of everything. "On your Mr. Roboto."
"You can get us information on Dr. Doom?" Peter was shocked to hear.
"Adaptoids. Dr. Doom. My god, you have one strange PR department." Damien laughed. "But yes, I can get you the information you need that might help you track down...Dr. Doom." He then laughed once again at the name. "So, what do you say?"
Peter looked down at his glass and saw that this could be an easily accomplishable mission. "I think we can make this work."
"Good on you," Damien said as he clanked their glasses. "I like how trusting you are."
"And if you're lying, my girlfriend can create a forcefield inside you and expand it, watching as you explode if you're lying," Peter warned Damien.
"Okay, I might deserve that." Damien nodded.
"You serious?" Susan asked as Peter returned and explained to them the mission. "You want us to help a known terrorist?"
"Ex-terrorist, and really all he wanted was to protect his daughter." Peter shrugged. "Okay, in recent days. Back in like the 70s, he was a known war criminal."
"That isn't helping." Bette comments.
"Look, I've fought Damien a few times." Peter tried to assure them. "He's a well-trained sorcerer and a man of his word."
"You bloody believe that?" Constantine asks.
"Okay, I don't fully trust him, but the hard fact is...this mystery of ours is only raising more questions than it is answered," Peyer stated as he eyed all the information they got from the Adaptoids. "One question answered, gives us five more to figure out. But Damien promises us some information he thinks could be helpful. And that's what this job is all about, right? Saving people?"
Susan sighed as she knew better than to ignore Peter's instincts when it came to people. "You think we can trust him?"
"I think he's our best bet to keep you all safe," Peter stated as he eyed everyone. "I understand if you guys don't want to. But Damien has paid for his actions and just wants his daughter to be safe. That's all we're here to do. Protect an innocent life from danger, and deliver her somewhere safe. It's about a thirty-minute flight in the FantasticCar, and that's it. We drop her off, Damien gives us information, and we might be able to save Raven and the others."
Everyone eyed one another, wondering what they were going to do. They knew they needed to do something, otherwise they'd lose another chance at stopping Dr. Doom.
"When do we head out?" Ben asks, it seems they've made their minds up.
Peter made arrangements for everyone to ride in the Fantasticar, as the group had to travel a considerable distance to reach Nora's location. Nora's residence was in Starling City, which meant that they had to embark on a lengthy flight to reach her. During the flight, Constantine occupied Johnny's seat as the Human Torch was flying alongside them. Upon arrival, they landed just outside the apartment complex where Nora was expected to be staying.
"Ben, stay with the car," Peter said as he jumped out of the jet. "We don't need someone stealing an Engine."
"Got it," Ben said as he exited the car and walked over to the sidewalk.
"How do we play this?" Susan asks as they travel up the elevator.
"Well, it shouldn't be too complicated." Peter shrugged as they made their way into the apartment complex. "Me and Nora go back a bit, she knows who I am under the mask, so all we gotta do is just explain everything to her."
"And when that doesn't work?" Johnny asks as they reach the door. "What do we do then?"
"If it doesn't work, Johnny...we'll threaten to move her in with you." Peter dared.
"Wow." Johnny scoffed.
"Trust me, that is a punishment worse than hell," Constantine stated.
Peter then knocked on the door, giving them a moment to wait for someone to answer. Then when the door opened, a young woman opened the door and was shocked when she saw the group outside her door.
"Should I ask or should we take this inside?" Nora asks.
"Should be better inside." Peter nodded.
"Come on in," Nora said as she let them into the room. She then looked back as John entered the room. "John. Didn't take you for a team member."
"Well, special circumstances, love," John stated.
"You two know each other?" Susana asks.
"Me and John go back. He was looking for something my father had during his 'destroy the world' days." Nora explains as she makes herself a drink. "So, what are you all doing here?"
"Your dad sent us," Peter explained, watching Nora freeze when she heard that. "He's been let out for good behavior."
"That's a first." Nora scoffed.
"He's worried about the recent news of sorcerers beginning to go missing," Peter explained to Nora. "We've learned that someone is taking them."
"Who's that?" Nora asks.
"We aren't entirely sure," Susan says.
"Ah, but we've codenamed him Dr. Doom," Johnny said with a laugh. "Because...that's...that's what his droids say."
"Hey, Nora, have you seen..." A female voice called, getting them to look over and see a woman with her blonde hair up in a ponytail and glasses. She froze at the sight of the people in her place. "Uh..."
"Hey." Peter waved.
"Sup?" Johnny asked.
Felicity then lost all feeling in her legs as she fell over and fainted. The four heroes and Nora looked over to one another and back to Felicity.
"She gonna be okay?" Peter asks.
"Ah, Felicity is fine," Nora promised. "I mean, she gets like that around people she's interested in. You should see her around Oliver Queen."
"That dumb playboy?" Peter scoffed as he eyed Felicity. "Great, she's the 'looks are all' kinda girl."
"Well, she's mostly the brains," Nora admitted. "She's tech support at Queen Consolidated."
"Okay, can we get back to the someone hunting her?" Susan asks.
"Right." Peter nodded as he looked at Nora. "Nora, you are in danger. Has anything off been happening recently?"
Nora crossed her arms and thought back. "Well, to tell you the truth, I have been feeling like something was wrong. Like...almost as if someone or something was watching me. Like when I am walking at night from my classes or even from work."
"Well..." Peter muttered. "Everyone feels like that, even me."
"Fair, but when I hear scurrying and stuff, I..." Nora shrugged. "I just felt like it was nothing."
Peter began to think what that could mean. "It could be Adaptoids recognizing your patterns and daily routine."
"Which could mean that you could be in danger," Susan told Nora.
"Nora, look, I know you and your dad have a complicated history, but he wants you safe. I feel like we should take the risk that he can protect you, rather than need to keep you safe by watching over your shoulder."
Nora sighed and saw what he was saying. "Fine, let's just go before I change my mind."
Ben was sitting outside and was even taking a few photos with passersby who knew him. He was always happy to take photos with fans.
"Alright, say cheese," Ben said as the fans took a photo.
"Thank you, sir." They said as they left.
"Ah, don't mention it," Ben said as he approached the car again. He leaned against it, thanks to the Nth-metal, it could handle his mass. "What's taking them so long? How long does it take to get one girl to come with you?"
As Ben was standing, he was beginning to stomp his foot to pass the time, even humming to himself. As he was doing so, a giant of electricity flew from one of the lamps, and an Adaptoid revealed itself. It reached behind the Fantasticar, beginning to sneak over towards Ben.
Ben was humming when he heard the whirring, and he quickly turned around just as the Adaptoid turned invisible. Ben however wasn't convinced it was nothing and walked over towards the sound where the Adaptoid was. Ben looked over but was distracted when he heard whirring, causing him to turn and see an Adaptoid with some sort of blaster. When it was fired, Ben was hit by a sonic boom that sent him flying.
The shaking of the building from Ben's impact was felt up where the others were, and they knew that could only mean trouble. They ran their way down the stairs where they reached the outside with Nora. When they did, they found a swarm of Adaptoids approaching from all sides.
"Cisco, you forget to tell us something?" Peter asked, only to discover the comms were only getting static. "Ah, they're blocking out comms!" He then saw Ben run to one of the Adaptoids, only to watch it block his attack, catching Ben's fist, and then throwing the man into a light. "Alright, that does it! Nobody hurts Ben! Team, take them out!"
Johnny ran into the streets, igniting into flames as he took off. "Flame on!"
Susan ran as she threw several forcefields at one of the Adaptoids. But as she watched, the Adaptoid quickly dodged all her forcefields. Then the Adaptoid raced over and managed to dodge the swings Susan took to punch the Adaptoid using her forcefields. But the Adaptoid saw it coming and managed to grab Susan by the throat.
Johnny flew around the Adaptoid, but to their surprise, instead of using ice, the Adaptoid burst into flames. It then flew upward just like Johnny and smacked him using electricity to send Johnny crashing.
Susan shot a forcefield in the face of the robot, causing it to drop her and catch her breath. Susan then created a forcefield around her as the Adaptoids attacked with fire and electricity.
Peter shot two webs, attacking the Adaptoids coming after Susan. He then leaped and shot webs to yank his way over to them. He ripped off one of their heads, but that was then interrupted as another Adaptoid used the attack as a distraction to attack Peter, shooting him and sending him flying into the building.
"Is it just me, or are these guys beginning to predict us?" Susan asks, lowering her forcefield as she goes invisible.
"Nope, they're definitely getting smarter!" Ben cried as he charged at another Adaptoid. He charged and went to attack the Adaptoid, but it ended with the four of their arms colliding. The Adaptoid then revealed two separate arms from within a compartment underneath its hips, which it then began to use to beat Ben. "Ah! Hey!"
Nora was beginning to back off, not wanting to get in the middle of this fight that was going down. But as she was backing up, she was only coming closer to a much stronger Adaptoid. This one was not much different, except for the glowing yellow eyes rather than glowing blue like the rest of them.
Constantine went to try and conjure a spell, but the Adaptoid used their cannons to shoot Constantine and send him flying. He slammed against the cars, causing him to groan when another came and backhanded Constantine, knocking him down.
The Adaptoid grabbed Nora, causing her to scream in terror. Peter was getting his head bashed into the pavement by the Adaptoid when he heard Nora cry out. He looked up just to see the Adaptoid beginning for takeoff.
"Nora!" Peter cried.
Peter shot out a web and latched onto the robot's foot, causing Peter to be yanked from under the boot of the Adaptoid and yanked into the air. The Adaptoid was flown off course with Peter's mass and strength throwing him off course, being thrown around and the escape plan being compromised.
"No!" Susan cried as she tried to use Forcefield as steps, but she was shot by a sonic cannon, being thrown into a building she almost hit before she used a Forcefield to catch herself. "Johnny, can you get after them?"
"I'm a little busy!" Johnny cried as he punched the Adaptoid holding him.
"Ben?" Susan asked, catching herself when another Adaptoid charged at her.
Ben was still getting punched in the face over and over, ending with Ben kicking the robot, only for another dozen to come charging with sonic cannons. "A bit preoccupied, Susie!"
Susan sighed as she saw they weren't going to be much help to save Peter. "Good luck, Pete."
Peter was still holding onto the Adaptoid leg with his web, beginning to crawl his way up to the machine. He wasn't going to allow Nora to be kidnapped like Raven. He wasn't going to fail this time. Then the Adaptoid began to gain some balance with Peter flying along but wasn't going to compromise its rendezvous point. It needed to ditch Spider-Man.
The Adaptoid flew its way down into the city, swiveling to cause Peter to be shaken along the web he was holding. He shrieked as he tried to keep ahold of the webbing. He was smashed against the walls of the buildings, and skidded against the streets, causing Peter to try and run rather than be skidded against the street.
Peter then heard cars honking, causing him to try and run around the cars coming, leaping off the ground and getting close to the Adaptoid. The Adaptoid then flew through an apartment building, causing several people to shriek and jump out of the way as the robot came crashing through their walls.
As they exited the other end of the building, the damage wasn't done to Peter, but mostly to the Adaptoid itself. The robot began to glitch out while the thrusters on its feet were damaged, causing them to begin to crash.
Nora screamed as Peter shot a web to yank himself to Nora, catching her and shooting out a net to catch them. When they fell, Peter shoved Nora into the web net and allowed himself to fall as he was chasing after the Adaptoid itself. The Adaptoid then crashed into a pond, in the park around the city. Peter slammed into the ground, doing a quick roll as he quickly charged up his mechanical limbs using the junction box in the area.
Shooting out all of the power in the arms thanks to the junction box, Peter unleashed the full force upon the Adaptoid. The Adaptoid spritz is out of control and unable to adapt to its current environment. Then Peter finally stopped, releasing the electric strike on the robot, panting from exhaustion.
The Adaptoid then fell over, falling into the lake and sinking to the bottom. Nora lowered from the webnet she was caught in and approached Peter.
Peter was exhausted and was ready for this day to be over. "Team, we need you to bring the ship to us."
"We're on it." Susan sighed, revealing they finished fighting the Adaptoids who all shut down. "Did you happen to attack an Adaptoid?"
"Fried it, and it fell to the bottom of the lake," Peter confirmed. "Think that it was the command drone?"
"Had to be." Susan said as she shoved one of the Adaptoids off of the ship. "As soon as you contacted, these guys all fell down."
"Well, bring it to us." Peter said as he eyed Nora. "Let's get her home."
After picking up Peter and Nora, the team heads to Damien's house. With Constantine still out cold and sharing a container with Ben, Nora occupies his seat. As they near Damien's home, they witness him battling Doombots in his yard, amidst several already demolished robots scattered across the lawn.
"You're kidding me." Susan sighed.
"Well, at least there's no sign of Adaptoids," Ben said as he stood up, preparing to jump. "This will be easier. It's finally clobbering time!"
Damien was using his magic, lifting two robots into the air as they came charging at him with plasma cannons. "Get off my lawn!"
Damien then smashed their heads together, throwing their discarded bodies away. That was when one of the robots managed to get a shot in, shooting Damien's hip. He then dropped to his knees in pain. That was when the Doombots approached, readying their weapons to attack.
But before they could, a forcefield appeared around Damien, revealing Susan managed to sneak past, and was now protecting Damien.
"Hi," Damien said, unfazed by her appearance.
"Hi," Susan said. "Give us a minute."
Ben came ramming through the robots, laughing as their puny cannons were useless against his hardened outside. Johnny came flying in, shooting fireballs, melting the robots down, and causing a few to explode.
Peter then came in, using his mechanical arms, shooting electrical charges like he did at the pond, taking down waves of the Doombots. Destroying the last Doombot with Peter grabbing, and yanking it into the air where Johnny scorched it, they were finished with the waves of Doombots.
"Well, what took you?" Damien asks.
"Blame your kid," Peter stated, looking at the auto-piloted Fantasticar that was coming in for a landing.
Nora exited the vehicle, approaching her father's side. She hadn't seen her dad in years, and she didn't realize how much it meant to see him again. Damien was so happy to see his daughter, he held his arms out as an expression to embrace her. Nora willingly accepted it, racing in to then embrace her father.
"It's okay, baby," Damien whispered as he hugged his daughter. "I've got you." He then looked out to the heroes. "Thank you."
Peter removed his mask, giving Damien a nod in assurance. Even though this was more or less a quid pro quo situation, Peter was happy to reunite a daughter with her father.
While Nora headed inside to get her lay of the place she was going to be staying in, Damien finished the spell, keeping his home and daughter safe with a barrier only they could cross. Peter sent everyone back, seeing as Constantine might need medical help, and Damien still needed to keep his end of the bargain.
"Well, you held up your end," Damien said as he approached Peter, exiting the barrier. "Now I keep my end."
"What do you know of Dr. Doom?" Peter questioned.
"His name or location? Nothing." Damien was sorry to say. "What I can say is that whoever he is, he has to have been taught by an extremely powerful sorcerer. We're talking stronger than even me. Or worse...he made deals with the likes of demons, that's the only way he would have managed to gain the power to overpower some of these sorcerers."
"Okay, how does that help us?" Peter wonders.
"Well, that's more or less general information I managed to get," Damien explains. "But...if you want something more concrete, a trail of sorts...I heard rumors about something going down at Slaughter Swamp. That place has a massive amount of mystical energy."
"Slaughter Swamp?" Peter asks with a sigh. "Well, looks like my team is going to be headed to Gotham." He then held a hand for Damien to shake. "Thank you."
"No, thank you, Peter," Damien said as he shook Peter's hand. "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be able to have a second chance. My daughter would've been killed, so thank you for everything. If you ever need help just ask. You can count on me. You're always welcome here, Peter."
Peter nodded as the Fantasticar returned to pick him up. He had to inform the team about this recently discovered news that could help them stop Dr. Doom.
In the solitude of his castle, Dr. Doom was diligently repairing AMAZO, addressing the damage inflicted by Spider-Man's electrified assault. His frustration simmered as he reflected on how the Fantastic Four had once again slipped through his grasp, outwitting and overcoming his legion of Adaptoids.
"My lord," A Doombot approached. "The drones that you sent to Slaughter Swamp have all been destroyed. But we managed to track their last known location."
Doom was finally getting some good news, and he turned to march his way to see what they found out about the location of his hunt. "Prepare another wave to head to their last location. Soon, that creature will be mine to command or be destroyed."
As he marched off, the AMAZO Android stood still, only its eyes sparking, and the coding in its back beginning to come to life.
