GT: Ahh~ This is great. Another round for you folks to enjoy reading!
Z0: Since we are writing these so close together, gonna be honest, no time to imagine new bits. So…uh…Drop the Axis!
GT: Wait, what? *looks up and groans* We neither own Gundam nor Megaman, folks.
*CRASH!*
"Call in all Elite Gundam Metaverse Players," The Game Master spoke, standing in the Administrations virtual office.
"Hai, sir!" Alia replied as the administration went to work.
Within moments, multiple notifications went off as people began teleporting in one by one. At least a total of thirty players filled the space and arranged to stare at the ones who summoned them.
"Welcome," the Game Master spoke, earning their attention, "I've called you all here to address these new bugs that have been detected." he motioned as screens showing odd and wacky bugs happening across the digital world of Metaverse. From Gunpla enemies that suddenly glitched and phased through a wall to an enemy unit that seemed to have infinite health going by the endless attacks to it leaving naught a scratch.
"What's up with that, anyway? I was mediating once and the next thing I know, my head's the only thing above ground!" a Diver resembling a humanoid lightish-blue and white wolf in a fighting monk's outfit demanded.
"Unusual since it's normally under it," an Indian-looking male in pale blue robes with his long pale-violet hair sporting a pair of animal ears atop his head with a matching tail noted.
"Oi! What's that supposed ta mean?!" the wolf snarled.
"No fighting in the Administrations office or you will receive a three day ban and a drop in personal and Force ranking!" Alia warned quickly.
"Don't be so harsh on them, Alia-san," a blond haired man in a black long coat uniform spoke, "They are supposed to be placed at opposite ends of the room anyway or we can never get business done." he whispered the last part.
"Speaking of…" Game Master looked to Gate and nodded at him, who nodded in return and pressed a button…letting the cube with the strange Virus to appear above the Game Master.
"Oh~! What a cute little one, isn't it?" a flamboyant person donned in a red and black piloting suit that exposed most of their toned chest noted.
"It's a Virus," Game Master stated, making everyone pause and look at him.
"Th-That cute little thing is a virus?" one person, a girl with long pinkish-red hair wearing a panda-themed outfit with panda ears poking out of the top of her head, asked in disbelief.
"What kind? Worm? Trojan?" a male with onyx hair pulled back into a small ponytail with most of his outfit hidden beneath a pale brown tattered cloak asked.
"That…is just the thing that makes it so paradoxically dangerous. This Virus, as harmless and adorable as it looks, is essentially sentient and can take the role of any known computer virus. It just…chooses not to," The Game Master explained as the Virus looked around in awe, "So far it's only tried digging with a little pickaxe." He held up the tool, "Which, given how Metaverse works…amounts to just a hole in the ground. We assume it's trying to dig at data but the way this world works…all it accomplishes is digging a hole."
"Met!" the Virus beamed on hearing that.
"It likes 'Diggy Holes,'" Alia replied as if translating, giggling when the Virus made happy noises at her direction while hopping gleefully.
"Is it…like us?" Sarah asked, glancing over at a taller, slender woman in a white and evergreen outfit with long black hair standing near the male in the cloak.
"No, it is not from here. It's technically alien to this digital space," The Game Master stated, "R-Rather literally…" he coughed into his hand.
"...Is it from Eldora?" the male from the screenshot Force Neo Black Tri-Stars had taken asked in concern.
"No. We were able to discern this little guy is not from there. It's a whole other place," Gate replied, "We've established a White Base in the area this one was discovered with several members of Administration looking for the origins."
"So…have we been able to contact Sei or Reiji?" the blond man asked, "They are our…other examples of visitors from another location." he muttered, "Maybe Meijin The Third knows their contact information?"
"Sei-san is unable to get on at this time," The Game Master replied, "He's currently indisposed at his workplace at the moment." he cleared his throat while glancing away, "N-Not that I was there earlier for it…nor Aila for new parts for her Gunpla with her Mobile Doll…"
"T-True…" Alia mumbled as she looked away as well.
'They were there for a sale going on…' many of them thought.
"And Reiji-san normally gets on only when Sei-san and Meijin the Third do," a man with braided white hair in a cloak, elf ears, and old glasses sighed, a purple Haro floating by him with a pair of sinister red eyes focused on the virus, who was trying to do a staring contest with him.
"That guy is so flippant, he never shows up unless it's a big fighting event," The Haro grumbled, "We'd have better luck getting struck by lightning then finding that jerk."
"Hmm…You say that it uses that? How did you even get it from the virus?" a white stoat in a military uniform asked.
"It likes apples," Alia replied.
"Met?!" the Virus spun to her, breaking eye contact with the purple Haro, while giving an excited look at her.
"Later," Alia assured, "Also…you broke eye contact."
"Met?! …Met…" the Virus slumped in defeat.
"Mmm…I-It's just too cute to be a virus…" the panda girl mumbled.
"But that's what it is, it's just…harmless within the Metaverse due to its inability to reach the primary code," The Game Master declared, "It could be dangerous under the right circumstances. So now we need to assume the new Bugs could be resulting from a different sentient Virus like this. And with the proof it comes from a literally alien digital system, we need to be very careful about anything odd whatsoever."
"Define 'odd,' sir," everyone looked over at Lio.
"Something that should be impossible with what we know about Metaverse," the Game Master replied, "If more of these occur…we may very well need to cancel the upcoming events for the foreseeable future and do a hard scan of the entire system, meaning people wouldn't be able to log in for a few days as well."
"HAH?!" many of them shouted in disbelief.
"Oi, oi, oi…This ain't gonna be like a few years back, will it?!"
"Ah no~! Not the Deluxe Event~! I wanted that pizza so badly!"
"Everyone, please! Calm down! We just need to know if anyone may have a lead!" Gate called, "If we can find a lead, any lead even, we may be able to address these bugs before anything gets canceled!"
"...Oh!" a diver resembling a boy in a green shirt, brown overalls, blond hair, glasses, and a baggy hat exclaimed, "What about that message you sent out last week, sir? The one with this photo?" he made the photo of the blurry image appear.
"We got very little leads from that message," The Game Master spoke, "I haven't a single idea what…"
"I know who it was," Lio spoke up, earning a few looks, "It was a young boy named Megaman. He seems to be an EL-Diver with combat abilities to take down Gunpla…and can log out without a Mobile Doll."
"Megaman took down a Gunpla without one?" Sarah asked.
"Huh?! Wait…I think you talked about that, Sarah," a Diver with the avatar of a boy in a blue shirt, white pants, black boots and gloves, and a piece of brown armor on his left shoulder recalled, "Something about someone finding two EL-Divers at once?"
"Alex," Sarah and Lio said in unison.
"The one who found the Eldoran-based EL-Diver named Rhyme, yes?" the Game Master asked, Gate and Alia bringing up the accounts.
"She should be finishing the Gunpla kit I made for him to use for his Mobile Doll right now," Lio replied.
"She's on, actually," Gate confirmed, "Seems to be at the EL-Diver School."
"Oh! I was in the middle of letting the students out of class!" Sarah recalled, covering her mouth with her hands in worry as her carbuncles all whimpered, "Oh, I hope they're all okay with my sudden leave."
"It'll be okay, Sarah, you have tons of dependable teachers to keep an eye on them," the young man next to her assured.
"Don't worry. I sent some good fellows to keep an eye on the school when I was summoned," the Stoat spoke up.
"Oh thank goodness…Thank you, Rommel-san," Sarah thanked the Stoat before smiling at the young man, "And I almost forgot about them. Arigatou, Riku."
"Still I didn't expect the Lone Wolf player Lio-kun to be the one with the information," Rommel turned to Lio and pointed up at the blurred photo, "You know this boy?"
"I met him with Alex. He's a good boy. He's interested and invested in Gundam and Gunpla Battle. He's kind and caring, I will stand by he means no harm," Lio declared with a nod of his head, "But…I won't deny his powers are…different. They might be the cause of the Bugs because the Metaverse can't handle his odd powers. But he did so to defend himself, Alex, and Rhyme-kun. Please…don't assume he's a threat." he bowed to everyone.
"Do you think, if you encounter him, he can be persuaded to come here or to the White Base we have set up?" the Game Master asked.
"The next I see him, I will plead with him to come with me and clear this misunderstanding," Lio continued to bow his head, "He is a good boy, he merely wishes to experience our world with us."
"Feels a little bit like what happened with Sarah," the blond boy whispered to Riku, who nodded in agreement.
"Any chance you have a better photo of the kid?" the Haro asked, "Because we only have a blurred mess here to go by."
"Ah," Lio nodded as he showed the group photo, "That's him carrying Rhyme-kun."
"Sarah-chan, you met this kid, too. What do you think of him?" the panda girl asked.
"...He's…unusual. He is as Lio-san says, but…I felt something…more…to him," Sarah replied, "It was like he was like May-san and I…but also like others like Riku and you, Momo-chan."
"L-Like us?" Riku pondered, "As in…like a Diver and an EL-Diver at the same time?"
"That's the best I can word it," Sarah nodded, "I don't know what words best explain it, really, so it's not easy to explain as a result. But, like Lio-san says, he's a good boy. I can tell." she gasped, "Oh! He traded Friend requests with Alex and Rhyme-kun."
"Ah! That means they'll know if he's on!" the younger blond there realized, adjusting his rounded glasses.
"All of you, be on the lookout for this Megaman child. If you do, please try not to startle him and request him to come here or to the White Base located in Quadrant U-4," the Game Master ordered, "And no trying to fight him! We have no idea what he is capable of. Lio-san, can you get to Alex and Rhyme and ask them to see if Megaman is on?"
"I'll get right to it," Lio spoke before pausing as a digital screen came up, "Uhm…A-After my school club activities let out…" he held his hand up and bowed his head in apology, "I'm really sorry, Game Master, I need to log off…like…now…" he clapped his hands together to plead for forgiveness, "Oh…I can feel the glare right outside my machine…" he shuddered.
"You're excused," the Game Master assured and Lio quickly logged out, "Anyone else? …No? Then please do your best. Any of you with a Force, spread the explanation of escorting Megaman to the Administration or to the White Base located in Quadrant U-4 without the use of force." various cheers of confirmation went off as people quickly went off to do so, leaving just the older blond in black, "Is there something you still need to address, Champion Kyoya?"
"I'm honestly curious about if Ms. Tori has taken a chance to look over this one," Kyoya replied, motioning to the Virus as a small hole was opened to let Alia give it an apple, causing it to cheer and happily eat the digital fruit.
"Unfortunately, she's still rather sick, but she has been able to contact me and look over the data I sent her," the Game Master explained, "Once she's able to log on, she will help me look over the data. I was able to essentially take it apart and scan its inner workings, and it reformed once I finished. So it's a sturdy little thing."
Kyoya nodded, "Hopefully, she recovers sooner than expected for a patch to let that kid be here and not cause bugs if he really is the cause of them. Anyone who loves Gunpla should be allowed to experience this world with as much joy as anyone else can."
"I've learned my lesson well since those days all those years ago, the same as you," the Game Master spoke, "I've long since accepted that there is always a way so everyone is happy, and I will protect this world for those who wish to live and enjoy it. But I do also admit, I need a hand here." he looked at the content Virus, "This creature is, for now, harmless; but, it's a potential for a virus that could harm Gundam Metaverse appearing from this same space, and perhaps this boy's abilities could prove the key to countering them."
"KITA~!" Gate cheered from his console.
"Hm?"
"I was checking for anything on the Diver Alex for battles and found footage of her time with the one called 'Megaman,'" Gate informed, bringing up the fight against the Chief and his Dom-Gouf hybrid riding in the II Neo Zeon.
"Hmm…" Kyoya narrowed his eyes as he watched, "He can freeze, create hammers and swords, fly…even enhanced that Gunpla's strongest attack with a sword of pure energy like my old ultimate attack…" he nodded, "I'll make sure my Force knows to not engage him in battle and just explain he's needed by you."
"M-m-m-m-met~!" everyone looked at the Mettaur as it was trying to keep away from the repeating feed whenever it saw Megaman using one of the strange weapons.
"Interesting…" The Game Master noted, "He is afraid of this boy. This is useful information."
"W-We're not gonna hurt him, are we?" Alia asked as the virus quickly hid in its helmet.
"No, it's important data, but knowing it fears the powers of this Megaman…boy…" the Game Master paused, "His name feels confusing knowing he's a child…"
"I am so glad you agree, sir," Gate nodded.
"A-Anyway, we now know it fears his powers, which could scare off more of his kind," The Game Master explained, he then sighed at the look he got from the female EL-Diver, "No…we won't hurt him, and yes after the patch…you can keep him."
"Thank you," Alia smiled, gently placing a hand on the container close to the hiding virus, "Don't worry. You'll be alright soon, little one."
"..." Kyoya glanced away, trying to keep a neutral expression while his lips trembled.
"Oh, don't give me that look, you…" the Game Master grumbled.
"You're the one who wanted these two for their smarts," Kyoya reminded.
"This is why I can't wait to replace you as champion with someone respectful…" The Game Master grumbled.
"Alex-nee~!" Rhyme cheered as he ran over and jumped up, letting himself be caught by her as he gave her a hug.
"Did you have a good day at school?" Alex asked.
"Uhn! Uhn!" Rhyme nodded as he held up a black and yellow thick bound rope, "Lookie! Onee-chan gave me this to nom when I want to nom but can't!"
"That's a relief for everyone," Alex noted with a giggle before pulling up her screen, "Up for a Mission?"
"Yay~!" Rhyme cheered, "Mission!"
"Okay, okay. Let me just…" Alex trailed off as she saw Megaman was on, "Oh! Rhyme, lookie!"
"Hm? Oh! Yay! Rock-nii! Rock-nii!" Rhyme cheered, "Where is he, Alex-nee?!"
"Hmm…Oh, I think that's one of the older parts of this place," Alex noted before grinning, "Good thing for us I brought the ZZ Gundam then."
"Double Zeta?" Rhyme repeated.
"Yep! And I have something for you~"
Rhyme gasped, "A surprise?!"
"Oh, he looks so happy," Alex giggled as, atop the ZZ Gundam in its G-Fortress Mode, was a small SD Gunpla that was letting out noises of pure joy with stars twinkling in its eyes.
It, at first, resembled the Star Winning Gundam, but the cardigan color was replaced with the same color as Rhyme's fur and the emerald replaced with a deep ruby. The shoulders sported half of a wolf head on them while the feet resembled the feet of Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex with an extra claw on them. The Star Funnels had been replaced, looking more akin to the Barbatos Lupus Rex's limbs, while the large v-fin on its head replaced the smaller piece meant for Real Mode with the crest for the Barbatos Lupus Rex with two extra spikes added to it. A Tail Blade was fully deployed on the behind, wagging excitedly.
"Boku wa SD da~!" Rhyme squealed in delight before the Gunpla flopped onto its front to nuzzle the top of ZZ Gundam, hearts coming off it, "Arigatou, Alex-nee~!"
"Hey, hey, I just assembled it and made sure it was all good. You gotta make sure to thank Lio for making it," Alex assured.
"Nnn!" Rhyme cheered, "When will he be on?"
"I'm not sure," Alex replied, "Hopefully, we can try out another Mission with him and Megaman."
"Uhn! …More flowers?" the SD Gunpla tilted its head.
"No. This one is meant to help you get used to the controls and how everything works with Gao Lupes and its support unit Isaribi Mini."
"Ohh~!" Rhyme awed before a few moments passed, "...Are we there yet?"
'Oh dear, I was afraid he'd learn that question that's the bane of all adults…' Alex thought as a drop of sweat went down the back of her head, quickly pulling up the map of the area, "Mmm…We're almost there. Looks like he's in a recreation of how New York looked in G Gundam. …Always wanted to go to New York, but never had the cash or time to do that…" she shook her head, "Now, Rhyme…Do not jump him while you're in your Gunpla, got it? He may be tough enough to fight one without needing his own, but we do not know if he can handle an excitable Rhyme in one jumping on him."
"Hai~" Rhyme replied happily, Gao Lupes doing a lackadaisical salute with his tail.
"Okay then. Let's go!" Alex declared as ZZ Gundam accelerated.
"Ah! It's like we're in that New York place from the cartoon!" Lan exclaimed in Megaman's head as the boy in blue sat atop the remains of the collapsed Statue of Liberty, looking out to the vast wrecked city.
"Aah!" Megaman awed, "I know it's supposed to look damaged and ruined, but…it looks so real. That in itself makes it feel much more alive than anything in the Net."
"Mmm…I'm so jealous I couldn't see a thing from the PeT last time," Lan groaned.
"It's a shame. The forest I went to with Lio and the others was so amazing. It was so green and the air smelled so nice…and the Flowers!" he awed at the memories as they all came rushing back, "Is that what it was like when you went camping with the others, Lan?"
"Yeah. It smelled really different compared to ACDC," Lan replied, "And all that green was amazing, too! Lousy Speedy Dave and his trying to ruin it all for everyone with that bombing scare…"
"I know Quickman was an enemy, but it still feels bad that he made himself into the detonator," Megaman sighed, "And Sal looked so heartbroken."
"I really hope none of our friends ends up like that," Lan noted before Megaman could feel the boy shake his head, "Gah! What am I sayin'? Of course they won't! Real friends stick together no matter what!"
"Uhn," Megaman nodded before looking out to the distance, "Hm? Oh! I think I see some Gunpla coming this way!"
"Oh! Really?!" Lan asked in excitement as the ZZ Gundam and Gao Lupes came into view, "They're huge! But…why's that one so tiny?"
"That's an SD Gundam," Megaman replied before the Gao Lupes jumped off and shot its thrusters to make it shoot at him, "And coming right for me?!"
"ROCK-NII~!" Rhyme cheered, making the Gao Lupes vanish before impact, letting him fly into a tackling hug.
"Ah! Ooh! Gh?!" Megaman nearly fell off before catching himself and Rhyme, managing to avoid falling off while holding the EL-Diver, "Phew…Rhyme, be careful. We nearly fell off."
"Sorry," Rhyme apologized, looking sheepish before nuzzling into him, "Boku wa SD da~!"
"I saw, I saw," Megaman chuckled as the ZZ Gundam flew down and dispersed, letting Alex land before him, "Oh! Hey, Ms. Alex."
"It's just 'Alex,' Megaman," Alex assured, giving him a smile, "Been a while."
"Well, I wanted to watch all the episodes first before coming back," Megaman explained, "It was amazing!"
"Is it? I'm not allowed to watch some shows 'till I'm a little older," Rhyme explained, pouting a little before smiling as his tail wagged, "But I get to watch SD!"
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, Megaman. I'll make sure to give you some others I've got saved later," Alex grinned.
"What do you have in store this time?" Megaman asked.
"SD?" Rhyme asked with a big smile.
"The one that came to America, yes," Alex replied, "Along with the original Gundam."
"Aww~" Rhyme pouted, "Onee-tachi won't let me see that one yet."
"I'm sure there is a good reason," Megaman assured, patting his head.
"Hee-hee," Rhyme giggled before his nose twitched, "Huh? Rock-nii smells funny."
"I-I do?" Megaman asked, 'Wait…do I need to shower here?'
"I don't know," Lan replied as Rhyme sniffed Megaman.
"...Two scents?" Rhyme tilted his head.
'Wait…can he smell Lan while we're using FullSynchro?' Megaman blinked while trying to not freak out and give away someone else is technically with them, because that felt like a really long conversation to be had.
"Oh, maybe he ran into someone else on the way here," Alex noted.
"Mmm…" Rhyme frowned in thought before shrugging, "Oh! Rock-nii, lookie!" he held up his rope, "I got a nom for when I wanna nom but can't!"
"A play rope?" Megaman pondered.
"Well…he is a puppy," Lan noted.
"Um…Where's Lio?" Megaman asked, looking around.
"Not sure," Alex replied, "I checked for him before we arrived, but it seems he's still not logged in yet." she shook her head, "Guess we'll be doing the Mission on our own then."
"Oh? Are we going back to the forest?" Megaman asked.
"Nope. A plains area," Alex replied as she pulled up her screen and turned it around to show the two (technically three) before her, "A simple Musou Mission."
"Musou?" both repeated.
"Ah. These are based off the Dynasty Warrior Gundam games," Alex explained, tapping her screen and causing it to change to show a 2D map with half of it split into red and the other half split into blue, "In this kind of Mission, our goal is to achieve the goals set on us while taking control of enemy territories." chibi icons of herself, Rhyme, and Megaman appeared in the blue area while chibi icons of Char Aznable, Master Asia, and Patrick Collessuer were in the red area before showing the icons move about on the map, changing parts of the areas into either blue or red, "From what I've gathered, this Mission tends to end when you defeat a certain Gundam that gets deployed at the end. Based on our personal Ranks, it also reflects just how dangerous the AI for the enemy Gundam will be. Like…look at our current Ranks." she tapped the screen and it showed an 'F' above each of them, "We're F-Ranks, beginners. So that means the AI will match that rank. Like…think of it as F-Rank is Master Asia being as hard as a dojo teacher for kids and the highest S-Rank means he's coming at you like it's his final battle against Domon."
"So Lio-Nii?" Rhyme asked, remembering his Rank last time they talked about this.
"Yeah. Honestly…it's actually good luck he isn't with us otherwise it'd average out the difference," Alex scratched her cheek.
"Meaning it'd be too powerful for us…but easy for him," Megaman chuckled at that thought.
"Exactly!" Alex nodded, "I went with this one since it's meant to be based upon one of the Official Mode levels in the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam game: Jaburo."
"That sounds simple," Megaman nodded, "I guess I'll have to ride in one of your Gunpla again, I can't cover that much space on a map meant for Gundams…" he then blinked when a holographic screen appeared before all of them, "Wha-what's happening?" he took a half-step back as a message automatically opened itself for all of them, "'To all Divers reading this, after reports of multiple bugs within Metaverse, we are going to begin consideration of suspending all upcoming Force and Deluxe Events should these bugs continue or a Patch can not be made within allotted time. Please understand this is for the safety of the EL-Divers and Regular Divers, and any complaints will be disregarded due to this advanced warning.'"
"Oh dear," Alex noted in concern, her ears drooping a little, "I hope they can find the cause. And if there does need to be a big Patch given out, I'm really glad I finished assembling Rhyme's Mobile Doll."
"That big SD Gundam, right?" Megaman guessed.
"Eeeee~!" Rhyme squealed in glee, "SD saikyou~!"
'It's like you when we end up getting a rare BattleChip, Lan…'
"Yeah, he's re-Hey~!"
"Well…we can't really do much about these aside from trusting that they can handle it," Alex shrugged, "And I'm glad you reminded me, Megaman…Because ZZ Gundam is a really neat Gundam! He can split into three different jets!"
"Another transforming one?!" Megaman gawked.
"Alex-Nee says mine transforms, too," Rhyme smiled happily, puffing his chest out and patting it.
"That's right, but as I learned from Lio, this is actually a pretty normal gimmick of a Main Character's Gundam from this timeline," Alex explained.
"Eh, really?" Megaman asked.
"Well, kids will want the big shiny heroic Gundam that can do things like transform, right?" Alex pointed out some logic.
"Oh…" Megaman nodded in understanding.
"She makes a good point. I would want the one with a cool gimmick like transforming into a jet," Lan agreed with a chuckle, "Though, if that message went to everyone, I wonder how they are all reacting?" he pondered, "I know I'd feel pretty bummed if an event I was looking forward to could get called off…"
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" a man cried as he fell to the floor, sobbing, while a good many Divers were all having maybe…less than healthy reactions to the news of cancellations to events. The occasional mature one just slowly walked away while many an EL-Diver just live streamed the nonsense for giggles.
"They can't do this! I've been waiting all year for the Deluxe Event!" a man in a Zeon uniform cried, "I saved all my points and coins for drops! Especially for ones I can put on my Gunpla in real life with an injection molding machine!"
"What bugs?! I haven't seen any bugs?!"
"Dude, seriously? They are all over the chat," a man in a Zaft uniform pulled up a video of a Leo that took 0 damage from dozens of attacks.
"I heard from a friend in Force Toraburyu that Tigerwolf had his body stuck in the ground for a few hours because he couldn't log out since everything from the neck down was in it," a female in a Neo Zeon uniform noted.
"I think I saw that video before it got taken down," a man in a Titans uniform spoke up.
"I was in Persia Area when a bug went off that caused everyone's Gunpla to deploy at full size," a tiny deformed Gundam Exia recalled in a teenage girl's voice, waddling by with a tiny deformed Zaku II, "It was like it inverted the programming from no one able to summon their Gunpla in the area without the right requirements to no one could store their Gunpla away."
"I bet Force Simurgh was in a tizzy if the displays they set up got wrecked," the Zaku II noted in an old man's voice.
"Isn't there anything we can do? It feels wrong to just sit around while our Events get canned!" a man in a pilot's suit from SEED called out.
A woman dressed as Layla walked over, "I just came from the restaurant run by Force Adam's Apple. It seems they and the other top Forces are all looking for a Diver and EL-Diver that may have a lead. I believe the Diver is a Straight Builder while the EL-Diver is that adorable corgi one that's been staying in the hotel built for newly born EL-Divers near the school."
"A…A corgi?" the man in a Zeon uniform asked in disbelief.
"Isn't he the one that was gnawing on a railing once?"
"Would he still be at the school at this time?" the Zant uniformed man pondered, looking at an EL-Diver live streaming them all.
"Nope! Classes got out 'bout an hour ago," they replied, "Did see him get picked up by this fox gal when it did. I think he called her 'Alex-nee' or somethin' like that."
"That must be the Diver they're looking for then!"
"Hurry! Hurry! Spread out and find them! Our rare drops are at stake!"
"I think I also heard they are waiting for Number 16 to return so as to send him out and find them," the woman dressed as Layla added.
"...If we get in his way, he will rip us apart…" the man in the Zeon uniform whispered in terror as if having a PTSD fueled flashback.
"Maybe don't go full angry mob?" an EL-Diver chuckled.
"I don't think they hear us anymore, the humans have gone full crazy," another EL-Diver spoke, "At this point…it is out of our hands, kyodai. We should probably send word to the Administration of an Angry Mob of loonies."
"Ossu!" another agreed.
"How much y'all bettin' the gal's actin' like all these folks and the tyke's all confused?" an EL-Diver girl in a farm girl outfit asked in amusement.
"Most humans tend to be really confused," the second noted, "But chances are this will cause some unintended nonsense. If we're lucky…we can see them all get cocky and tick off an Elite Player who will probably literally spank all of them."
"Well, cheers to those two then! May they be panicking and confused!"
"Okay, you two," Alex spoke as she stood before a massive White Base nestled near a cavern system amidst a massive grassland, looking calm and reserved, "You see this? This is the White Base and if it gets destroyed, the Mission fails. Our goal is to take over other territories until Char Aznable himself appears."
"Char Az-aznu-Ara…" Rhyme tried to pronounce the full name but flubbed it up on the Aznable part.
"Just Char is okay," Megaman chuckled, "But he sounds important, who is he?" he asked Alex.
"He's a sorta bad guy, then a good guy in the next show, then he vanishes and comes back as a total bad guy…then his ending is left ambiguous…" Alex muttered, "But he's essentially one of the main characters and started the trend of Masked characters who kick the main character's butt a lot."
"...so like Lio-nii?" Rhyme asked.
"Is that why he wears a mask?" Megaman pondered.
"Who knows but Lio?" Alex shrugged, "But people involved with Gundam or Mobile Suits in a mask with a strong piloting ability are normally labeled as a Char Clone. Only exception was in The Witch from Mercury where it was split between…well…I'll share it with you later, Megaman." Rhyme pouted, "Because right now it's time for Rhyme to get used to his Gunpla."
"SD~!" Rhyme cheered.
"Megaman, we'll be splitting the ZZ Gundam into one of its configurations," Alex went on, "We'll be blasting a lot of Dom and Zaku and Z'Gock, but try to stay close when it's time to switch to ZZ Gundam's mobile suit mode. Rhyme, you'll start the Mission by going to Field J over that way. They'll be deployed, so you need to start smashing until the field you're in goes from red to blue."
"Hai!" Rhyme cheered.
"So this Gundam has a docking system," Megaman mused.
"A Combining robot… That's so cool! I wish I could be there," Lan awed.
'Who knows? Maybe one day,' Megaman thought.
"So Megaman, you want to take a shot at Char when he pops out?" Alex offered.
"Huh? M-Me?" Megaman pointed at himself.
"Rock-Nii was strong before, go get 'em!" Rhyme cheered.
"Ah, w-well…" Megaman blushed bashfully.
"You know we got this, Megaman!" Lan cheered.
"If you're worried, Rhyme and I can play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who fights him," Alex assured, gently putting a hand on Megaman's shoulder.
"..." Megaman looked at her with a determined look, "How will we know it's him?"
"That's easy enough," Alex replied, bringing up her screen and showing him a MSM-07S Z'Gok Commander Type, "This is Char's from this event in the One Year War. The MSM-07S Z'Gok Commander Type."
"That's a whole lotta red," Lan noted, "...You think Protoman's a Char Clone? I mean, he's got the mask and the red and probably the same stick shoved up his…"
'Lan~!' Megaman mentally groaned while he nodded at her.
"Great! Okay, for this first part, I'll pilot the Core Top while you use the Core Base," Alex informed as she brought up the map, "Okay, if this is like the game, then our goal is to first take command of these three areas. Once that happens, they'll deploy dropships for overwhelming us with numbers here while Char and his Z'Gock troops will get in through the water systems over here. White Base will relocate into the deepest regions of the base and we have to keep Char and his troops away from the White Base."
"Mmmmm…" Rhyme nodded.
"You understood all that?" Megaman asked.
"Nuh-uh," he shook his head, "Just beat up Bad Gunpla, Rock-Nii blows up Bad Red Gunpla, don't let White Base get hurt, and we gets noms later."
"That's pretty much what I got, too," Lan agreed.
"Once we separate into Core Top and Core Base, Rhyme, you trigger the Mission to start," Alex ordered.
"Okay, Alex-nee!" Rhyme nodded before hugging her and then Megaman, "Onee-chan said giving hugs before a Mission is good luck!"
"I swear, this kid is giving me cavities…" Lan chuckled, "Pretty sure he'd have a lot of the girls we know all over him with his fluffy self."
'He's too sweet and wholesome. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised,' Megaman agreed as Rhyme summoned his Gundam and flew off, letting him turn to Alex, "So how does it transform?"
"It's three parts in one with about seven different modes," Alex explained, "What I'm doing is splitting ZZ Gundam into Core Tope and Core Base." she summoned and entered the ZZ Gundam before, to Megaman's eyes, the upper half of ZZ Gundam and its large blue blaster combined before shooting off, becoming a jet-like shape, as the lower legs flipped around at the knees while lowering down to expose the waist had a cockpit of sorts as the top half landed by it, "See? I'm having you pilot Core Base to get used to the controls. It's also got most of the arsenal of ZZ Gundam in it, so you can wipe out a ton of the troops at once."
"Ohhhh~!" Lan awed, "It really does transform!"
"That's amazing!" Megaman exclaimed.
"Hurry up and get in," Alex ordered.
"O-Okay!" he nodded as he moved before stopping, "H-how exactly? Most times I just get teleported in with you?"
"Maybe it's in that screen that you can pop up here," Lan guessed.
"It's in the menu," Alex pointed out, "I sent you an invite to operate Core Base."
"Oh…" Megaman nodded as he pulled up the screen, 'I'm so not used to this. This feels like something you'd handle on your end, Lan.'
"That is true," Lan agreed, "Oh! Right there, Megaman."
'Thanks,' Megaman thanked, finding the invite and accepted it, causing him to enter it, "This shouldn't be so hard. I saw how Ms. Alex controls it," he sighed.
"What about the other guy?"
'He uses a different method that works like Full Synchro. Don't think I can copy that…n-nor do I wanna.'
"Why?"
'Don't ask,' Megaman grimaced before grasping the spheres, "Right…Let's do this!"
"So no one knows where they went?" Sarah asked.
"No, Ms. Sarah," one of the teachers, a fellow EL-Diver resembling a young man in a military uniform based on Char's Zaku II, responded.
"I think I heard something," Sarah and the other teacher looked at an EL-Diver resembling a young woman with shoulder-length pink hair in an orange bodysuit with white armored boots, gauntlets, and torso armor with a '77' across the chest armor, "I think the Diver you're asking about said she was planning on doing a Musou Mission to help Rhyme-kun with getting used to his new Mobile Doll."
"Musou?" Sarah repeated as the other teacher pulled up a search.
"Ah! Nana's right, Ms. Sarah," he spoke, quickly having his screen change to a nearby monitor, showing the trio in the midst of it, "A three Diver Musou Mission."
"Three?" Sarah repeated as Nana typed something on her own screen.
"Got it. The Gunpla doing the Mission are the ZZ Gundam and Gao Lupes Gundam, registered to Alex and Rhyme respectively," Nana informed, "But the ZZ Gundam is currently in its two modes of Core Top and Core Base with the latter being piloted by Megaman."
"Oh! They've run into him!" Sarah smiled, looking back at the screen in time to see Core Base weaving about gunfire before unleashing a missile barrage from its back alongside a rain of laser fire to tear them apart, "He's quite good at piloting." it changed to show the Gao Lupes zipping about with its flight pack flaring, using its tail to skewer and stab into Mobile Suits before its body shifted with two bulky bits removing from the pack to attach to the hands, making them larger with silver-tipped claws, while hidden extensions in the feet extended and swung down with the bottom half of the feet to make animal-like hind legs, before the shoulder parts detached with the top of Gao Lupes flipping upwards to expose a piece that the two halves attached to, making the SD Gunpla resemble a wolf of sorts that quickly clawed and tore into the enemy with an adorable howl of sorts coming from the pilot, "Ah~! I knew it'd be an SD Gunpla! Rhyme-kun was so excited when we did the Gunpla Building class yesterday and got to assemble an SD Gunpla."
"Oh~ He's being really dangerous…but it's just too adorable!" Nana cooed.
'I swear, the animal part of his appearance is some strange attractor to the female workers here…' the male teacher thought before noticing something, "Hm?"
"What's wrong?" Sarah asked.
"There's…glitching over his name," he pointed out.
"Hm?" the two looked at the side of the screen showing the names of the three Divers…and indeed, at times, a small glitch appeared over Megaman's name, "Ah!"
"Another bug?" Nana pondered.
"It…It looks like it's trying to register two names at once," the male teacher guessed.
"Oh dear, it seems that child's abilities are affecting this world much like mine once did," Sarah sighed, "We will need to tell him so he doesn't panic and make sure others don't as well."
"..." the male teacher glanced away.
"Tetsu, what's going on?" Nana asked.
"Er…" he made another screen popup, showing a stream from another EL-Diver on the panicking Divers.
"...I'm going to call Riku," Sarah replied as she walked off, "Nana-chan, please call May-san and let her know we found our unusual EL-Diver and that things may not end well sooner than later."
"W-What should I do, Ma'am?" Tetsu asked.
"Haven't you done enough…?" Nana sighed as she walked off.
"Gh…" Tetsu flinched before slumping before looking back at the feed of the Musou Mission.
"Oh! Tetsu-san, I know! Try really hard to contact Lio-san. I know he must be busy with school in the humans' Real World, but given his high ranking, he can do things we can't. Like inserting himself into active missions to prevent cheating or help stop bugs." Sarah spoke from another room.
"H-Hai, Sarah-san!" Tetsu replied.
"And make sure to record this for later watching and a nice review for the students tomorrow on one of their classmates's achievements!"
"Hai, Sarah-san," Tetsu nodded, working on several screens.
Real World: Tokyo Japan.
"Hajime!" a man shouted as students in full kendo garb rushed at one another, one in dark navy the other in white. The one in White swung while running at full speed and knocking their opponent off their feet, "Point Tatsuya!" he called out as the one in white swiped his bamboo shinai across his arm.
"Hah…" he sighed, removing his helmet to reveal a young man with black hair pulled back into a short ponytail, with a few strands of hair framing his face, his gray eyes looked at the digital clock on the wall with anticipation, "Maji…why is today the day where I'm scheduled for so much practice?" he groaned walking over to a bench, "Mou…The Game Master has to be so upset right now…"
"Oi Tatsuya, someone's blowing up your phone with messages," another young man sighed while tossing him a water bottle.
"Eh?" he blinked, "Yabei…don't tell me he actually showed up today…"
"Hm?" the young man pondered, "Who ya talkin' 'bout?"
"Nandemonai," he chuckled awkwardly, "I need to check these. Please take my place in the next spar, Nobu-kun!" he put his hands together and bowed in apology as he ran off for the locker room.
"AH?! No fair! Your next match is with that demon lady….and she's right behind me, isn't she?" he turned to his Teacher.
"Yosh," he nodded simply.
"...Tatsuya, this better be life and death!" he sobbed.
Ignoring the sounds of wood on cloth-covered flesh and screams of fear, Tatsuya unlocked his phone, "Please let it just be reports from others looking out for the kid…don't let it be him actually there while I'm here…" he closed his eyes as he scrolled the messages up and slowly opened one eye…only to groan and let his had slowly banged into the lockers before him, "He's there…and with Alex and Rhyme-kun…Please don't let there be panic…oh come on, Tetsu!" he groaned, "And did those EL-Divers have to stream the panicking?! It's just going to escalate the panic and people are gonna be idiots."
"Tatsuya-kun, there is only so much Nobu-kun can handle," his teacher spoke up, "You've missed practice twice last week. You need to make up for it today."
"...Sensei…I'm sorry but…I'm taking on everyone at once," Tatsuya spoke up.
"...Eh?" he blinked at how insane that sounded.
"I know, I know, but bring them on. All versus me so I can get this over with," Tatsuya said as he put his phone away after sending a message back to have the panicking Divers be misled to far away from where the Musou Mission was taking place.
"Nanda kono ko…" the teacher awed as Tatsuya walked past him while putting his headgear back on, "I know he takes after his grandfather…but just what the heck? …It's like he raised an actual samurai sometimes…"
"Tatsuya~!" Nobu cried, "Save me! She's crazy!"
"Everyone gear up, I'm taking on everyone now," Tatsuya declared…while grabbing two swords.
"Oh hell no!" Nobu panicked even worse, "I surrender already! Spare me, second coming of Musuashi!"
"Well…it's news," The Game Master muttered as Sarah, Nana, and Tetsu relayed the message to him, "I swear that I owe that boy an apology for the undue stress I may cause him…"
"Already sending out a mass message minus to any EL-Divers and those three in the Musou Mission the false lead," Gate informed, "Should we also deploy several mobile suits there for them to attack and further stall?"
"At this point, it might just be for the best. Send any B-Rank enemy units we can generate at the moment. A challenge for most. Anyone A or S Rank should already know the situation or not be sucked into this." The Game Master sighed, approving the suggestion, "Try and isolate the Musou Mission area, cut off access to anyone not authorized by me. And just in case, get Kyoya. Maybe he can handle the mob…or just…beat them silly, whichever at this point."
"Met?" the Virus tilted its 'head' at Alia as she started to go to work.
"These kinds of issues that disrupt GN are always stressful for the Administration," Alia gently explained, "At least you're behaving in there. And better hide in your helmet. We're pulling up the Musou Mission and the 'scary boy' will be there."
"Met?" the virus tilted itself before nodding, giving a yawn before hiding in its helmet again.
"Oh, you are just so precious~"
"Alia!"
"S-Sorry, sir!" Alia yelped, picking up the pace and getting the feed opened, "Looks like they're at the part where the planes are being deployed."
"...Huh…" Gate looked at the side of the screen at the names, "Lan…Hikari…?"
"Hm?" the Game Master looked at him.
"The glitching over Megaman's name," Gate pointed out while still prepping the B-Rank enemy units, "I think it's a name. 'Lan Hikari.'"
"...You're sure you're not seeing 'LAN' as in that old local area network design?"
"Yes, sir. It looks like 'Hikari' is at the end whenever the glitch covers the 'man' part of his name."
"Huh…Curiouser and curiouser," the Game Master narrowed his eyes, 'Just what are you, Megaman?'
"Those the planes?" Megaman asked as the Core Base and Core Top flew towards a set of three large vessels.
"Yep. They just made a new area we need to take control of. Rhyme, head to the nearest gate!" Alex ordered, "In a few moments, it's going to open up and you need to go wreck the enemy units that snuck in through a water path. We can handle the area here."
"Okay~!"
"Megaman, we're going to reform ZZ Gundam."
"Huh? Reform it? But why?"
"To take care of these guys in one blow," Alex grinned.
"This machine seems very strong in just two parts. What kind of performance does the ZZ Gundam have in its true form?" Megaman asked..
"I don't know…but I'm excited to find out~" Lan replied in giddiness as the two vessels connected to one another before reforming ZZ Gundam and having Megaman appear beside Alex.
"Easily more than anything built during the One Year War," Alex replied, "There's a good reason why things like tanks and aircrafts like the Gaws and Dopps that are dropping Mobile Suits down got phased out over the years." she twisted her wrist and highlighted an attack option, causing the crest of the head for ZZ Gundam to start lighting up, "One reason? The outpacing Mobile Suits like the Gundam showing the tech as becoming outdated and inferior in terms of destructive and defensive capabilities. And let me introduce to you one of the biggest reasons! An attack that needs ZZ to be in its full Mobile Suit mode, capable of destroying weaker Mobile Suits with just a glancing blow…FIRING HIGH MEGA CANNON!"
"High Mega…" both boy began before yelping as ZZ Gundam's crest gave a glint as its only warning before a massive beam erupted from it, ripping through the airships and barely grazed the ground before them before crashing into a hill formation, creating a massive explosion that left behind a massive crater, "Whoa~!"
"I know, right?" Alex grinned, "It's one of my favorite attacks and it's the strongest beam attack ever on a Gundam!"
"I need to make that into a BattleChip!" Lan cheered in excitement.
"So then the ZZ Gundam is from the same world as these Mobile Suits?" Megaman asked, looking out at the destruction, "Lio said that Gundam shows are split into multiple timelines where technology developed differently. Like G Gundam and the Mobile Fighters."
Alex nodded, "That one is known as Future Century or FC. The original Gundam and ZZ Gundam come from the UC or Universe Century timeline. Oddly…the Turn-A Gundam show was meant to combine all the split timelines into one, making it the CC or Correct Century timeline."
"I guess Lio would know more about those details, huh?" Megaman asked, "The way I understand it, Gundam comes from his home country, doesn't it?"
"Yeah. Japan," Alex replied, "Would be awesome visiting there and seeing the homeland of Gundam. There's even exclusive Gunpla models at their Gundam Base you can't get even online."
"Exclusive Gunpla, that sounds amazing!" Megaman awed, "Though I do want to see what the other shows are like. The way Lio spoke of them, they sound a little sad sometimes, but they are an amazing adventure to watch."
"Oh they are. There are many highs and lows as you watch them," Alex agreed as she got a notification of the gates opening, "But I can give ya the vids after this. Right now, we need to get going into the caves and intercept Char with Rhyme."
"Right!" Megaman nodded, "Though…will he really need us?"
"You never know," Alex replied as ZZ Gundam shifted into its G-Fortress Mode to quickly fly off towards the cave systems, "It may have a difficulty slider going on that we don't know about."
"A what?"
"It means the better we do, the harder it becomes," Alex summed up.
"Oh…we've been doing really good, too," Lan realized.
"It…It shouldn't be that big of a difficulty spike…would it?" Megaman pondered before a screen popped up, showing a panicked Rhyme.
"Alex-nee! Not a Z'Gock! Not a Z'Gock! Big, very very big!" Rhyme panicked, "And it's really red! Like three tines the normal amount of red! With giant ketchup bottles!"
"...Shouldn't be that big of a difficulty spike, eh?" Alex gave a now sheepish Megaman a flat look.
"Ahahahaha…I think there's a saying for this, right?" Megaman sheepishly replied, feeling the same look from Lan, before the ground above the caves erupted with a large wide-spreading laser, "Gh?!"
"Oh, I am so glad Rhyme's Gunpla has the same anti-beam coating as those from IBO…" Alex gulped with wide eyes.
"It says Nano…Nano-Laminate Armor!" Rhyme responded as his Gunpla bounced along the ground a few times, no worse for wear besides some dust from the explosions.
"What was that?" Megaman asked as he looked at the smoke that slowly dissipated, revealing a massive red Mobile Suit in all red plating with a long horn jutting out to the back of its head unit with two massive cannons on its back, "Gh!? That's not a Z'Gock, is it?"
"N-No," Alex replied, "It…Is that a new model? It kinda looks like Char's Sazabi from Char's Counterattack, but…but I've never seen this design for it before!"
"Wait, what?" all three looked at her as she bit her thumb in worry.
"Okay, next time I should not bring the ZZ to a Musou Mission," Alex muttered.
"An MSN-04FF Sazabi?!" Alia gasped, "Why is that in the Jaburo Musou Mission?!"
"This is a Bug that has affected the AI-Diver's data. It recognizes it as Char and glitched the difficulty slider to bring out a Mobile Suit that fits his AI's specifications," Gate explained, "The Glitch removed the limiter to keep it within one show…and even…canon material entirely…"
"This is not good," the Game Master noted, "But…"
"But…?" both looked at him…as he turned around, showing stars in his eyes.
"I've always wanted to see it in action in GM! Not many people can purchase it due to its exclusivity to the Gundam Base and even then not many will scan it to bring here because of how large it is!" he declared while gripping his fists in excitement, steam puffing out of where his nose should've been.
Both nearly fell over, "Sir~!"
"?! Ehem…b-but we did technically have its data in the system so as to recognise it should it be scanned. So this is within the realm of possible, but given it's essentially still the Sazabi, but with two powerful All Range Beam cannons…it's three times more destructive when paired with its Scattering Mega Particle Cannon, retrains the Beam Shot Rifle, as well as its melee weaponry, it's a powerful All Purpose Machine, and furthermore Char AI is often touted as our most superior in combat next to the Amuro AI."
"Sir, you're just complimenting your own work at this point!" Both complained.
"Still…this bug also spiked the difficulty curve programmed into it. How was that even possible?" Alia pondered.
"Um…I think we have the blue boy to blame again. For a few moments, the system registered him at the same rank as Force Avalon itself from something in him," Gate noted.
"It mistook Megaman as an entire Rank 1 Force?" Alia asked, her eyes wide.
"It could be that the System's combat analysis data was able to momentarily scan and read his ability levels and determine him as a High A-Rank if not S-Rank potential in combat." The Game Master spoke, "That means that without his abilities he may not be able to best the Sazabi. Just based on what we know, he can handle strong targets, but the skill of a low Rank player does not compare to the performance of an S-Rank AI setting."
"It's…not that bad…is it?" Alia asked.
"Of the Elite Players…only a select few have been able to best the Char and Amuro AI's set to S…and one was Kyoya himself," the Game Master explained.
"...Oh fractured unresolved corrupt kernels…" Gate muttered, looking like he wanted to faint.
"Is there anyone else…who beat the AI?" Alia asked.
"Kamiki Sekai, Meijin Kawaguchi the Third, All of Force Build Divers vs 1 AI, BUILD DiVERS needing to use the Re:Rising Gundam…"
"Sir, those are all A and S-Ranked Divers and Top Ranking Forces!" Alia exclaimed.
"The command to stop the Mission isn't being accepted," Gate informed with a grimace.
"I don't know if I can contact any of them this suddenly with all the chaos. Even if Sarah-san can get Riku here, he is still going to struggle on his own…" The Game Master muttered before a message appeared before him, "...However, there is one Diver who wasn't able to complete the trial due to time out." he spoke, "And he's logged on."
"Hm?" both shared looks as the Game Master looked back at the screen.
'Will you show us what you can do again, Megaman? Why did it register you so high?' the Game Master pondered.
The Sazabi's eye flashed as its thrusters ignited and carried it forward towards the two Gundams. It raised its beam rifle and began shooting, the beams splitting into multiple smaller blasts like the spread of a shotgun's pellets. Both Gunpla flew up to avoid them only for the Sazabi to appear literally face to face with the ZZ. The Gundam reached for its Beam Saber, only to be kicked and sent falling back into a rock wall and left to slide down into the water. It spun around and kicked the Gao Lupus away and into a rock before aiming its shield upwards to the cave ceiling and unleashing missiles into it that caused a cave in on the SD Gundam, burying it under rubble.
"AH! Rhyme!" Alex gasped.
"Gh…I need to get out there," Megaman grit his teeth.
The Sazabi turned to the ZZ before throwing away its shield and rifle. It held its arms out as the two cannons on its back, ejected off and floated around, handles folding out at the top for it to grab with both hands. It aimed both cannons down as they began glowing with green minovsky particles, the cannon in its abdomen that resembled the ZZ's own High Mega Cannon also began glowing with dull yellow energy.
"Uh…A-Are you sure?" Alex asked, "I-I mean, you did do good against that Mobile Armor, but…"
"Trust me," Megaman assured, "That big thing made two mistakes."
"Huh? Two?"
"The smaller mistake was making all this rubble," Megaman explained, "But…the biggest mistake it made…" he narrowed his eyes, "...was messing with my friends."
"Huh? The…The rubble?" Alex blinked as Megaman got out of the ZZ Gundam and settled on its shoulder, glaring at the Sazabi.
"Lan…"
"Sacrificing RockCube BattleChip."
"DoubleSoul!" Megaman shouted.
At his side, a ghost image of a being made of junk with red cables forming a wild mane of dreadlocks appeared beside Megaman. It slid over and overlapped Megaman before his body transformed. Bulky gunmetal armor formed over his lower legs and a ring on his right upper leg. More circular armor coated his upper torso while his shoulders gained sphere-like armor with green dots in the center of them while his gloves turned gunmetal gray as well with green circles on the back of his fists. Four red cables emerged from his back while his helmet was replaced with a gunmetal junk-like helmet.
"JunkSoul!"
"Eh? Nani sore, Kakui~" Rhyme awed from what he could see while under the rubble, "Henshin da!"
"Your armor changed?" Alex pondered before yelping as the Sazabi was upon them…before it aimed up and fired its lasers, "Huh?"
"Its targeting systems got affected," Megaman chuckled, "JunkSoul always inflicts confusion and removes invisibility when I activate it."
"I don't understand, but cool!" Rhyme cheered.
"And here's why this thing making all this rubble was a bad idea…for it!" Megaman swung his hands out, "POLTERGEIST!"
All over, the rubble glowed for a moment before it started rising up. In a rapid fire barrage, the rubble began to rocket towards the Sazabi. The red Mobile Suit's optic flashed before it started to quickly swing its weapons around, using them to block as many of the rubble as they could. Several still managed to get in a hit with one striking the Sazabi right in its face, making it stumble back.
However, it stopped itself as its eye began glowing, its head leaning forward as an eerie green glow began to escape from its entire frame. Its Large Funnels floated out of its hand as it raised its arms and ejected two Beam Sabers before igniting them and swinging them around to cut the rubble apart before it could continue its assault. With a final cross swing, a green pulse went out, making the Rubble fly right back at them.
"Firing Hyper Mega Cannon!" Alex shouted, unleashing the beam from ZZ's head unit, vaporizing the rubble, "Gh…I gotta be careful. I think I've only got one more shot before I overheat the systems for it."
"It overheats?" Megaman asked as he was invited back into the Gundam.
"Yeah," Alex replied, "Any chance you've got something like that Life Sword thing on hand?"
"I've got quite a few, but that thing is a tough battle," Megaman replied as JunkSoul faded from his body, "It was able to get out of the confusion status faster than I expected and reflected Poltergeist back at us."
"Ah man~ Why can't ZZ use those things?" Alex sighed.
"...Huh…Megaman, do you think…?" Lan began to ask as Megaman rubbed his chin.
"Maybe…" Megaman looked at Alex, "Is there a way for me to connect to just the weapons?"
"Huh? Just the…I think so. It's meant for two-player teams who use one Gunpla. One who operates the Gunpla and the other who acts as the weapon selector and analysis person," Alex replied, looking at her options before finding the feature, causing a pair of control spheres to pop up before Megaman, "You've got the weapon select."
"It's all or nothing. That thing is strong, Megaman, not to mention size, it's fast…even faster than us. That's kinda scary. So let's try something scary of our own." Lan spoke.
Megaman nodded, "Here goes…Energy Release mode…activate!" he squeezed the spheres as his emblem glowed as a progress bar rapidly filled up before him, "Connected."
"Huh? What are you…?" Alex began before yelping as Sazabi swung a Beam Saber at them, Alex bringing up ZZ Gundam's arm.
"HeroSword, Download!"
The lower half of the lower arm and the hand of ZZ Gundam's raised arm glowed before it shifted, becoming a bulky red and orange guard of sorts before a massive blue plasma blade erupted from it, parrying the Beam Saber.
"Whoa~!" Alex gasped, "Did you just…?"
"Hurry!" Megaman ordered.
"O-Oh! Right!" Alex nodded, quickly swinging an orb and causing ZZ Gundam to swing its transformed arm, breaking the stalemate before the Sazabi fired its waist laser at him.
"Invis!"
The ZZ Gundam turned transparent before vanishing, letting the beam miss it. The Sazabi looked around before the ZZ Gundam reappeared and swung down, cleaving one of its cannons in half with the HeroSword before it reverted back to his arm and hand. The ZZ looked at its hands only to be blindsided by a punch to the head unit, and then another as the Sazabi continued a physical assault. It summoned its other cannon back to its hand before swinging it up…as it fired energy out that stopped and formed into a massive beam saber. It swung the beam saber down with such speed, the ZZ barely had time to dodge and was still lanced along the right arm, shearing most of it off.
"Let's see if this works. Recov300!"
The sheared area of ZZ Gundam glowed before its damage was reverted, causing the Sazabi to momentarily pause, giving ZZ Gundam the time to reel a fist back for a punch. However, it wasn't enough as the Sazabi blocked the punch with its other hand. It began twisting at the wrist as the ZZ's articulation was pushed to its limits as loud metallic groaning filled the cave.
"HEY!" the Sazabi turned its head in time to get the Gao Lupes's tail to stab into its eye unit, "You stop making ZZ Gundam cry, you big meanie!"
The Sazabi kicked the ZZ away before grabbing the tail and ripping it out, oil and sparks following this, as it pulled the Gao Lupes out of the rubble and used it as a flail to strike the ZZ. It then raised its hand to its optic…as the green glow began leaking from its face…making parts and debris fly back in and reform its damaged optic.
"Oh come on~!" Alex groaned.
"Should've used an AntiRecov," Lan grimaced, "Alright…Let's try this with the big guy! Shotgun, Crossgun, Spreader, and Mega Cannon!"
"Program Advance!" Megaman declared as ZZ Gundam got back up.
His fist shined before raising it into the air. It twitched before rapidly expanding and shifting, transformed into a streamlined blaster as large as the combiner Gundam in Megaman's colors.
"PoweredCannon!" Megaman declared as power built up in its barrel as the Hyper Mega Cannon charged up with it.
The Sazabi swung its arms out as the green aura spread out and reformed its second Cannon funnel, before grabbing both in its arms and aiming them forward. Its abdomen centered Mega Canon began glowing with energy as well as the three weapons charged up, the weapons seeming to absorb the green aura and making their charging energy flash even brighter. After several moments, the two fired at one another, the beams from their weapons merging with one another to form two massive lasers that collided in the middle of the distance between both, sending out a shockwave that caused Gao Lupes to yelp and barely grab ZZ Gundam's leg to not be sent flying away by it.
"Come on, big guy…!" Alex grunted, struggling to keep ZZ standing, "You can do it! We are not falling to a big crazy thing like this!"
"This thing is crazy! It has all this fire power! It's like it's a real person fighting back almost…and they don't want to lose…" Lan grunted as all he could see was blinding light.
"Come on, ZZ…We've got this!" Megaman roared out, his emblem glowing brighter as an icy mist began to come off his body.
ZZ's eyes flashed as Megaman sent more of his energy into it. The Hyper Mega Cannon hiccuped before its blast grew larger and causing their beam to start pushing back Sazabi's. Gao Lupes awed as he noticed that ice was starting to form along the path the ZZ Gundam's blast was on.
"GIGAFREEZE!" Megaman roared as the Sazabi's beam was frozen over and shattered by the ZZ's beam.
The beam continued on into the cave walls and further beyond 'till it began to dissipate, leaving a newly burned hole that revealed the sky above them with a coating of ice. Megaman panted as the glow left his emblem while disconnecting from ZZ Gundam's controls. Everyone took a moment to rest as it all seemed over. …That is…it seemed to be over.
"AH!" The Gao Lupus pointed up as the Sazabi was floating above them, revealing it was fast enough to fly out of the beam's path.
"N-no way…even after all that?" Megaman asked in shock, "Why could it still move like that?"
"Why do we even have the GigaFreeze if it keeps failing?!" Lan complained, "First Alpha, now this!"
"The pilot of course," Alex grit her teeth, "Char Aznable…He's a Newtype!"
"N-Newtype?" Megaman and Rhyme asked.
"He's an evolved human. He can anticipate whatever his enemies do," Alex explained, "It's like he can see your next moves before you make them."
"How did he even get them?"
"...A lack of gravity thanks to living on a space colony."
"M-Majide?!" Gao Lupes nearly fell over in disbelief.
"That…that sounds so ridiculous…" Megaman gawked.
The Sazabi held up its shield before pulling out an oddly shaped Beam saber that projected twin ax blades before a saber appeared between them. It moved to charge only to stop and turn towards the hole above them as a figure stood at the edge.
"To be fair," Lio's voice called out from the shadowed figure, "Newtypes were never explained in depth in the original show; but, as the series continued, their powers transcended into the absurd. Char is not the strongest Newtype, but he is the greatest combat pilot in his world's history. But the Red Comet always had a rival he could never best: the White Devil," light revealed a Gundam with a head similar to the Gao Lupus, but its body was colored in black and dark gray with neon blue accents, it was the Barbatos in its 6th Armor formation, "However, I'm partial to Black myself. It just has a much more sleek color." he slammed a giant rectangular mace weapon, "Truth be told, I've wanted this rematch…the last time I faced Char…I lost due to time out, but I was about to win."
"Lio?" Megaman and Alex pondered.
"Oh~" Rhyme awed, Gao Lupes having stars in its eyes, "The Gunpla has a powerful roar~ 'I'm gonna be the king of all Gunpla' is what it declares!"
"Gundam Barbatos Nocturne…Lio…Maeru!" Lio declared as the Barbatos Nocturne raised its weapon up…and vanished before appearing next to the Sazabi and slamming its wrench mace into its back, sending it flying away.
"F-Fast!" Lan gasped.
"Powerful," Megaman whispered.
"You did well. Somehow, this AI is set to S-Rank," Lio explained, "It took the best of the best to put it down with a different Mobile Suit. So be proud of how much you three pushed it into a corner, even with its Psychomu system amplified. You did amazing," he chuckled happily, "So let me meet your efforts, my friends," he spoke as the eyes of the Barbatos Nocturne…turned red, "Alya-Vijnana system…Limiter Release," red lightning crackled from the eyes as the Barbatos let loose a noise akin to a demon's roar before it vanished in a single step and kicked the Sazabi into and through a thick cave wall.
"The lightning's back!" Megaman recognized the lightning, recalling it from the other Gundam Lio had used the last time he had been there.
"The Limiter Release allows the Gundam Frame to unleash its full performance," Lio explained, "Allowing Pilot and Gundam to fight as one, unleashing both their potentials. But I won't dishonor the Red Comet, for I have one more trick up my sleeves," Lio raised his hand to his mask as he removed it and his helmet, his eyes opening before they began glowing with an aurora borealis of colors, the lightning of the Barbatos Nocturne's eyes stopping only to crackle with multicolored flashes of lightning in the same aurora like colors. It swung its Wrench Mace up and blocked a swing from the Sazabi…and, after a second, the enemy mobile suit realized its entire arm unit was torn off and smashed to bits from the swing, "I can only keep this up before the time limit cuts off, but I messed up not going all out last time. And you're plenty warmed up as is!"
With that, the two Mobile Suits vanished and clashed again, causing a massive shockwave that made the others tense. The Sazabi stumbled back as the Wrench Mace snagged its funnel cannon…and crushed it. The Barbatos Nocturne tossed its mace away before punching the Sazabi, sending it flying back, the Gundam's thrusters lighting up as it caught up and palmed its head unit before dragging it along the ground…and up a wall before tossing it back to the ground.
"Beam clashes are all well and good, but at a point, Mobile Suit battles become about speed!" Lio explained as the Barbatos Nocturne raised its arms as two manipulator arms extended from its backpack and let it draw two katana like long swords, "In a battle of two Pilots with the same speed and same abilities…it all comes down…to who wants to win the most!"
With that, the Barbatos swung both swords and slashed at the wall where the Sazabi stood, only for the Mono-eyed suit to avoid the cross slash…which left a giant X shaped gash deep into the wall. The Barbatos Nocturne turned around just as the High Mega fired at 0 range, the beam seeming to swallow the Gundam, only for its sword to thrust through the beam and into the cannon, causing it to sputter and explode. The beam vanished to reveal no damage whatsoever to the Gundam as it twisted its other sword around before swinging and cutting off the Sazabi's legs. The Barbatos Nocturne pulled its other sword out before swinging to cleave off the remaining arm. The Sazabi's eye began glowing as the green Psycho aura began emanating off once again.
"The key to dealing with a trick like regeneration…is to not let it have the time to recover," Lio spoke as the Barbatos Nocturne began swinging rapidly, its sword cutting the armor apart faster than it could seemingly repair itself.
"Amazing…" Alex whispered in awe.
"He's taking it down faster than it can repair itself," Megaman noted.
"It's like he's a living AntiRecov," Lan compared, "Oh man…He…He's so…so cool~! Megaman, why didn't you say he had something like this?!"
'I…I didn't know. I saw him fight, but he wasn't using this Unit…this is his personal Gunpla, the one he built just for him…' Megaman spoke, 'Everything about this unit is designed for him to fight the way he wants, it's…amazing!'
"Ganbatte, Lio-nii, Barabtos Nocturne!" Rhyme cheered.
"I've had enough of your gimmick," Lio spoke as the Barbatos Nocturne crossed its swords as they began glowing, "This is the power you unlock at Rank C," he declared as the sword began glowing with a golden light, "Ougi…" the glow suddenly sparked into a deep neon blue as it raced across both swords and turned into azure flames, "Niten-Ichi-ryu: X-Cross Crash!" With that, the Barbatos Nocturne swung both swords leaving a glowing X in the air as the Sazabi slowly fell apart into four sections…before each section was further diced apart by dozens of unseen slashes, each piece lighting on fire before exploding.
"Whoa~" Alex and Megaman awed.
"Was that…a Program Advance equivalent here?" Lan pondered before an alarm sounded as their screens popped up, showing 'MISSION CLEARED' on them, "Oh!"
"Oh right! I…I actually forgot we were doing a Musou Mission…" Alex recalled, smiling as she noticed the three had all gone up at least two Ranks from F to D, "Guess that Mobile Suit gave a ton of EXP."
"Sorry to kill steal," Lio spoke as the Barbatos Nocturne swung both swords as if to flick off anything on the blade, "But I was told it was an emergency bug that messed with the difficulty system." he explained, holding the swords for the backpack sub-arms to grab and return to their place on the back.
"Lio-nii~!" Rhyme cheered before Barbatos Nocturne caught the SD Gundam in its wolf-based mode, "Lookie! Boku wa SD da~!"
"Oh~ It's perfect! Just as I designed, you did amazing, Alex. Look at him! He's an SD~" The Barbatos Nocturne lifted the Gao Lupus up several times, "Takai~Takai!" he cheered, "Look at you, you've even mastered Savage Mode, you're such a clever child~"
"Savage?" the SD Gundam tilted its head, "Mmm…Puppy Mode!"
"Eh?! Iie, iie, iie. It's called Sa…"
"Oh, you really do look like a cute little puppy in this mode," Alex agreed, ZZ approaching before patting Gao Lupes on the head, "Puppy Mode!"
"But I dubbed it…" Lio muttered from his cockpit as he facepalmed, "Mou…I give…Puppy Mode…is fine, too."
"Oh~! Today is very sugei~!" Rhyme beamed, "I get a nom that's not a nom from Onee-chan, Gao Lupes, and Lio-nii helped us beat a big mission!" he giggled, "And ZZ Gundam is still in awe at what Megaman did to help!"
"Huh? Wait, what? I thought Alex accidentally put something in ZZ that caused the ice effect in her beam," Lio blinked a few times as Barbatos Nocturne looked at the ZZ Gundam.
"Uhm…" Alex and Megaman muttered, sharing looks.
"Right…we'll talk about this on the way to Administration," Lio spoke, earning confused noises from them, "As it stands…a misunderstanding has caused a mob of upset idiots to try and look for Megaman, assuming he's at fault for a Deluxe Event being postponed."
"Wait…M-Me?!" Megaman pointed at himself.
"You're the bug that's canceling it?" Alex asked, looking him over, "Mmm…I don't see it." she patted his head, "You're too nice and adorable."
"It's possible that it's not on purpose, but Megaman's combat abilities have caused a bug in the system as it reads him as a Diver, and Divers are not allowed such abilities, let alone an EL-Diver with no Mobile Doll Gunpla to regulate them and allow them to log out naturally." Lio explained, "Megaman, you aren't a normal EL-Diver, are you?"
"Uh-oh…"
"We're busted…" Lan grimaced.
"You're not in any more trouble then maybe a bit of a reprimanding and lecturing," Lio assured with a small chuckle, "But if you will cooperate with us, we can fix the bug with no issue."
"Oh…That's good. This place has been really nice and I don't want to cause any trouble," Megaman assured.
"Good. And first question before we get going."
"Hm?" Megaman tilted his head before the three were shown a photo on their screens of the Virus in its cube.
"Do you know what this is?"
"Oh, that's a Mettaur," Megaman replied with a shrug, "Pretty basic Virus and easy to Delete."
"We found it digging a hole in the Anno Domini Earth server…" Lio sighed, "Apparently, he really likes 'Diggy Hole'..."
"Yeah, they…they do that. I know I've fallen into several," Megaman sighed, "Though…it was on its own?"
"...Oh, I don't like the sound of that," Alex noted, "Why did you ask it like that?"
"Well…that's the first rule of Virus Busting: If there's one, there's a swarm."
"...Yeah, you're gonna have to come with me to meet the Game Master…now." Lio ordered.
"Yes, sir," Megaman replied with a nervous gulp.
"Hehehe…Strong but Kind, Firm but forgiving, what a unique guy," Lan chuckled.
"Ah! You get to see the GunDiver-san~!" Rhyme awed, "Mmm…May we go? Please and thank you?"
"It probably is safer if you all accompany us. Who knows what those nuts would do if they found you two," Lio sighed as he typed on his screen, "We'll take my flight unit," he said as a black and purple Kutan Type-III formed behind him, "Get out of your Gunpla and I'll invite you into its cockpit." he swiped as the Barbatos Nocturne vanished…or so it seemed as it seemed now docked into the Kutan at the bottom.
"I hope this can be taken care of," Megaman whispered as the two Gunpla were dismissed, all of them appearing in the replicated Kutan cockpit with three seats Lio sitting in the center one with controls.
Rhyme pounced him, making the older looking AI catch him so he could give Megaman a hug, "Don't worry! All the Gunpla that have been around you all say you are very good. Gunpla don't lie!"
"We've dealt with worse misunderstandings in Sarah-san's time," Lio explained, "The bugs caused by this are very minor compared to those days. Besides we've survived Alien Invasions, we can handle some Virus from what we assume is a super space internet." he nodded, earning looks from Alex and Megaman, "Too much information all at once?"
"Uh-huh," Rhyme confirmed for him with a nod before giggling when he 'heard' Barabatos say something.
"Hey, you keep whatever he says about me secret, you hear?" Lio declared with a chuckle as he poked Rhyme's nose. He then pointed down, "And you stop telling my secrets to EL-Divers! Don't forget who tunes your joints!"
"He promises to not let you know," Rhyme smiled before tilting his head, "Ara? Oh, I wasn't supposed to say that. Sorry~"
"It really is neat that he can hear the Gunpla…" Megaman noted, earning a look from Lio, "Huh?"
"A major sign that someone is an EL-Diver is the fact they can 'hear' Gunpla," he explained, "But…could not having that ability be from you having these other abilities instead?"
"Oh, right! You missed him putting on an armor that confused Char for a little bit and then made all the rubble and debris in the whole map fly right at his Gunpla!" Alex recalled, "And then giving ZZ those attacks and repairing the damage." she looked at Megaman, "How did you do that, anyway?"
"Um…Is it okay if we wait until we meet this Game Master person?" Megaman asked, "It'd be easier to explain to everyone at the same time."
"Good point, so off we go!" Lio declared as the ship took off.
Kyoya sighed, trying hard to not put a hand to his face in exasperation, as his Gunpla looked down upon the vast field filled with dissolving wreckage of other Gunpla as a lone, ominous-looking Gundam in deep crimsons and gunmetal with bulky guards on its shoulders alongside massive cannons stood in the center of the carnage, "Because of course Gate didn't double-check to make sure the coordinates weren't near Force Hyakki's Base."
"Haaaa…" a Diver resembling a strong-looking male with long brown hair in a black muscle shirt, fingerless gloves, sandals, baggy hakama, and three horns on his head growled within the Gunpla, "Didn't imagine so many would attack here at once…and were this weak!" the Gunpla's eyes flashed in building rage as it stomped down hard on the head unit of a Wing Gundam Endless Waltz version, crushing it and letting out a shockwave around him, "This isn't enough! My blood hasn't even begun to even simmer, dammit! More…More…" the Gunpla whipped out a pair of orange-tinted cutlasses, raising them to the skies above, "Give me a worthy opponent, Gundam Metaverse!"
"Well…it solved itself…in a rather roundabout way…" Kyoya sighed.
"Yeah, I don't think this solved anything," a woman with glasses and reddish hair sighed as her Impulse Gundam floated next to Kyoya's, "If anything…it's worse since Ogre has been teased."
"Do you think you're gonna have to fight him to satisfy the guy and keep him from going on a rampage himself?" a man with short, spiked up light-brown hair asked, his own Impulse Gundam floating on the opposite side of Kyoya's.
"I suppose I'll have to…" Kyoya noted before all three tensed up, "?!"
"Wh-What the…?" the man gulped.
"What was that…bloodlust?" the woman asked, trembling.
'This feeling…' Kyoya thought, looking around before his eyes widened, "OGRE, ABOVE YOU!"
"Hm?" Ogre looked up before a patch of the sky above him…began cracking.
The crack spread until, like a pane of glass, it shattered in a small spot. Emerging from within, a lone figure hovered in the air. Long flowing tatters of a brown cloak fluttered, exposing hints of a black bodysuit with purple lines beneath. Black-covered feet were separated from the bodysuit by bulky orange armor with spikes coating the knees. White gloves were further separated from the bodysuit by black gauntlets trimmed in the same orange metal as on the legs with more of the orange jutting out of spiked guards on his shoulders. Their head was coated by a pitch black helmet, the monotony of color broken up by a crystalline four-pointed 'star' on the center of it and the yellow-orange lining the inside of the large 'fins' on the sides of the helmet. Hatred and fury bled from the fearsome crimson eyes of the tanned face, framed by marks of purple on the sides of it.
"Wh…What the…?" the man whispered.
"Oi…Who the hell are you? An EL-Diver?" Ogre demanded, pointing a blade at the floating cloaked figure who looked down upon him.
"...You feel…just as I…Fond of battle," the cloaked figure noted, "The sinister, blood-stained soul…" he looked out to the distance, "I can feel he is in this realm…his DarkSoul, even diminished in his foolish 'bonds,' cries out for bloodshed…but…" he looked at Ogre's Gunpla, "You shall do first. I feel your soul…its rage…the battle lust…resonates with my own."
"I don't get what you are, but I hear tell of EL-Divers who can fight without Gunpla. It seems weird to not fight another Gunpla…but a fight is a fight! Don't you dare dishonor me by ruining my appetite even further. I haven't had a chance to taste something as appetizing as the Champion or that wild kid," he aimed his sword at the figure, "I hope you can handle fighting in 0 gravity, 'cause I'm in no mood for holding back! Ikuze, Gundam GP-Rase-Two-Ten!"
"Come for me, then, behemoth of steel driven by a soul of battle lust! I am Bass…and Battle…is my Forte!" the cloaked figure roared, swinging his arms out and exposing the purple lines on his body all lead to a circular emblem on his chest…ripped into with a white scar upon it.
