Episode 342: On Cloud Arcanine
Shortly after waking up from the song of a mischievous but tough Jigglypuff, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Volt, and Maple returned to their journey.
One the way, they decide to make a stop to an out-of-the-way, yet popular bakery. There is a long line that is said to have some gourmet cakes that is said to be very delicious.
"Man, this line is so long," Chase said.
"I hope it'll be worth it just to have these cakes," Roxas said.
"It will be. May handed me this guidebook on the popular eateries around Kanto just before we split up," Xion said.
"Sounds like something would do. I can bet she already arranged a lunch date with Brendan by now," Sora said. Suddenly, a shrieking cry is heard.
"You hear that?" Kairi asked.
They saw an Arcanine running across the forest and towards the group.
"That's an Arcanine," Sora said. Elaine took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Arcanine runs so smoothly, it appears to be flying. And it is known for its majestic cry.
"With the way she's running, it does look like she's flying," Kairi said.
"I don't think it's time to discuss it right now," Roxas said.
"It's coming closer!" A random woman said.
Arcanine cried majestically as she jumped over the crowd of people. Looking up, Chase saw how majestic Arcanine looked. He was totally at awe of Arcanine's grace. Arcanine lands on her feet and began running again.
"That was cool," Elaine said.
"I want it," Chase said.
"Arcanine!" A familiar voice shouted. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Xion recognized whose voice it was. And they were right when they saw Drew and his Flygon run after the Legendary Pokémon.
"Drew!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed.
"Go, Flygon! Flamethrower!" Drew ordered. Flygon fired Flamethrower at Arcanine, but she fired Heat Wave at the Mystic Pokémon. Flygon quickly dodges it.
"That's Heat Wave!" Kairi said. Arcanine increases her speed and uses it to escape her pursuer.
"Arcanine's using Extreme Speed," Sora said.
"Extreme Speed is kinda like Quick Attack, but faster, right?" Chase asked.
"Right. Makes Quick Attack look like a slow-moving Slugma in comparison," Sora said. Drew approached Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, and their partners.
"Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion. I haven't seen you since the Grand Festival. Where are May and the others?" Drew asked.
"All over Kanto by now," Sora said.
"I take it that you're here to be in Contests here in Kanto, Drew?" Kairi asked.
"You know it," Drew said. He noticed two new Trainers with them. "Who are these two?"
"I'm Chase, and this is Volt," Chase introduced.
"Pikachu," Volt said.
"My name's Elaine, and this is Maple," Elaine introduced.
"Eevee," Maple said.
"Chase and Elaine are both from Pallet Town and they're just starting out. But what about you, Drew? What brings you out in these woods?" Sora asked.
"I'm just going after that Arcanine just before I enter the next Contest," Drew said.
"Hold it there, salad-head! I'm catching that Arcanine!" Chase proclaimed.
"When did you decide that?" Roxas asked.
"I think it was after seeing it jump over us. It was one of the most awesomest thing I have ever seen! And that Arcanine is going to get me the winning streak I need for the Pokémon Stadium Cup," Chase said.
"You're more welcome to try, but you're just going to fail," Drew said.
"You'll be eating those words, pretty boy," Chase said.
"Let's go, Flygon. Let's get that Arcanine," Drew said. Flygon nodded.
"Wow, that Flygon is awesome," Elaine said, scanning Drew's Flygon.

Flygon has been called "the Desert Spirit." With its powerful wings, it creates sandstorms to hide in.
"I don't care if it's called 'the Light Spirit', because I'm going to capture that Arcanine and make it my own Pokémon! When I get done, I'm going to wipe the grin off of his smug face," Chase said.
"That's the spirit, Chase. We'll help you catch her," Kairi said.
"We're with you all the way," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Volt said. Chase smiled and picked up his partner.
"I know I can count on you, Volt. And you too, Sora. You were there for me whenever I needed you," Chase said.
"Anything for a friend," Sora said.
"And we know you would do the same thing for us," Xion said.
"You guys," Chase said. He felt lucky to have such good and supportive friends. "Okay. Operation: Arcanine Capture is officially underway!"
"Right!" Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, and Elaine said.
"Pika!" Pikachu, Xipak, and Volt said.
"Vee!" Angel, Celeste, and Maple all said.
"But, I'm gonna have to make a change in my team, first," Chase said, taking out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Paras for Onix.
They all went off to capture Arcanine.
Meanwhile, a female Pokémon Hunter is driving in a truck with an Arbok, a Sandslash, a Venonat, a Raticate, and a Ponyta in the back. She has long black hair and wore a white tank top and jean pants, and white sneakers. Sitting by her is a Jynx.
"How about it, Jynx? Think we should add one more for the day?" The female Pokémon Hunter asked.
"Jynx, Jynx," Jynx said.
"I thought so," the female Pokémon Hunter said. She laughed. "We can search the whole forest until we find one." Just then, Arcanine zoomed past the truck, surprising her. She stopped the truck, awestruck by what she saw. "That didn't take nearly as long as I thought."
"Jynx, Jynx," Jynx said.
"That Arcanine looks like it'll bring in real big money! And there's nothing in this world I love more than money!" The Pokémon Hunter said.
Back with the group, the three Pikachu and the three Eevee sniffed around for Arcanine's trail.
"That Arcanine isn't just beautiful, but she's also fast," Xion said.
"Yeah, but catching her isn't going to be easy," Sora said.
"Sora's right. Arcanine looks too strong for you to handle," Roxas said.
"Especially when you're just starting out," Kairi pointed out.
"I know it's going to be tough, but it'll be totally worth it," Chase said.
"So, how do you know that Drew guy?" Elaine asked.
"Drew was one of the people we met in the Hoenn region. We met him when Kairi and May had their debut in a Pokémon Contest in Slateport City," Sora said.
"We met him several times in Hoenn. May battled him in the Slateport City Contest and lost. I ended up being his last opponent and I beat him. He was also one of the finalists in the Hoenn Grand Festival. May battled him there and she beat him that time. That's how May ended up being my last opponent in the final battle," Kairi said.
"Wow," Elaine said. She then gets a thought. "Um, does he know about-"
"Us having a Keyblade? Yeah, he knows. He first knew about it when we saved his life in Verdanturf Town before the Contest. He and his Pokémon were attacked by Nobodies sent by Saïx from Organization XIII," Sora said.
"Saïx?" Chase asked.
"Wait, he was the Organization's second-in-command, wasn't he?" Elaine asked.
"Yeah, he was," Sora said.
The Pikachu and Eevee looked to their right.
"Chu!" Pikachu, Xipak, and Volt said.
"Eevee!" Angel, Celeste, and Maple said.
"They found something!" Xion said.
"It's gotta be Arcanine," Chase said.
"Only one way to find out," Sora said.
With that said, they went off to the right and they saw Arcanine, picking up some Pecha Berries on the forest floor.
"There she is," Xion whispered.
"This is your chance to catch that Arcanine while she's eating, Chase," Kairi said. Chase took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Geodude, Onix! Go!" Chase called out. His Geodude and Onix came out to battle against Arcanine.
Seeing the Rock-types, Arcanine ran away from Geodude and Onix. Due to Onix's size, Onix was gaining on Arcanine.
"Onix is catching up!" Elaine said.
"Onix! Use Head Smash!" Chase ordered. Onix brings its head down at the Legendary Pokémon, but she uses her Extreme Speed to avoid it. "Geodude! Rollout!" Geodude curls up into a ball and rolls after Arcanine, but failed to touch her because of her incredible speed. "Shoot! I was close!"
"We should have seen that coming," Sora said.
"It's my fault. Even though Geodude and Onix had the advantage, they never would have matched up with that Extreme Speed," Chase said.
"Don't beat yourself up, Chase. You had the right idea," Roxas said.
"He's right. It could happen to any of us," Elaine said.
"Thanks," Chase said.
"How are we going to catch that Arcanine if we can't even catch up with her?" Xion asked.
"We're gonna have to think this one through, and we're going to need to get some info on the matter," Kairi said.
With that said, they came to an elderly man who is seen chopping some wood outside his cabin.
"You sure about this, Kairi?" Elaine asked.
"Well, it helps if the information came from someone living out here in this forest. So I'm guessing he had to see this Arcanine at least once," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but you think it's a good idea to bother him while he's working?" Roxas asked.
"Well, we need information," Sora said. He approaches the old man. "Excuse us, sir." He stopped chopping the wood and looked at him.
"Yes? What can I do for you?" The old man asked.
Meanwhile, the Pokémon Hunter and her Jynx rode through the forest, searching for Arcanine.
"I know you're around here somewhere, Arcanine. As soon as I do, you're mine," the Pokémon Hunter said in her thoughts.
Elsewhere, Rei is in an undisclosed location in Kanto, looking around for any signs of Vanitas. She wasn't disappointed when he made his move. Rei quickly summoned her Star Cluster and held it tight.
"Vanitas," Rei said.
"Master Rei. I had a feeling one of you started to come all this way just to find me; but I was hoping it was going to be one of your apprentices. It's better than nothing, I suppose," Vanitas said.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Vanitas. I had a feeling you were lurking around the Kanto region after leaving the Hoenn region. You must a score to settle with us if you came all this way," Rei said.
"You got me dead-on. Looking at you, you remind me of a Keyblade Master who thought she could take me down just as easily. But she couldn't be more wrong," Vanitas said. Rei knew he was talking about Cascade, but she wasn't sure about his connection.
"What is your connection with Cascade?" Rei asked.
"That would be known of your beeswax," Vanitas said, summoning his Keyblade. "Now, let's see if you can put up a decent fight like her." He rushes after her, so Rei clashed her Star Cluster against the Void Gear. Rei came after Vanitas while surrounded with fire. Vanitas dodged it before he disappeared. "Too slow." He reappeared. "Gotcha!" He came down at Rei with his Keyblade, but Rei dodged it with ease.
"Take this!" Rei shouted, unleashing gold light and twirls it around. "Fairy Fireworks!" She unleashed it at Vanitas. It hits him and it explodes like a golden firework.
"Not bad. Can you truly protect your apprentices or are you going to fail epically, like you failed to save your good friends in that one world when you defeated your master's old rival before that dragon came?" Rei was shocked.
"How did you-" Rei was cut off.
"Let's just say, I heard it from from a friend I have in a very high place," Vanitas said. Rei couldn't let that distract her, so she attempts to strike Vanitas, but he blocked and her attack, so Vanitas unleashed a fireball, hitting her. "Heh. Guess I was right. You're no different from her. She failed to protect her friends, just like you did seven years ago; along with your master. You can go and beg for his forgiveness when I reunite the both of you." He was about to finish her off when Wes, Rui, and Michael arrived on the scene. Wes uses his Colosseum of Light and Colosseum of Darkness to cut through the fireball.
"Master!" Michael said. Rei saw Wes, Rui, and Michael over her.
"Wes, Rui, Michael. Took you long enough," Rei said.
"We're sorry. It just took longer than we planned," Rui said.
"And it looks like we came just in time," Wes said. Rei stood up as Rui and Michael summoned their Keyblades and held them tightly.
"Well, well, well. The Orre trio came all this way to help out," Vanitas said.
"There are four of us, and only one of you, Vanitas," Michael said.
"I can take you all on, and I will, too," Vanitas said. The four Keyblade wielders took on Vanitas as he clashed his Keyblade against theirs. Rui casts a flower spell. The flower petals struck Vanitas on the mark, so Michael casts a stone spell, hurling a rock, but Vanitas dodged and came at Michael, bringing it down.
"Thunder!" Michael shouted, casting a thunder spell. The magic lightning hits Vanitas as Rei came at Vanitas and held her Keyblade out.
"Flare!" Rei shouted. A powerful burst of magic explodes and hits Vanitas on the mark. Wes then came at Vanitas. He uses his two Keyblades to clash against Vanitas's Void Gear. He then overpowered Vanitas and he dismissed them. He gave Vanitas an uppercut and then a kick in the stomach, taking him down. Wes resummoned his Keyblades just in case.
They slowly approached Vanitas. Wes bends over to Vanitas's mask.
"Now, let's have a look," Wes said. Before he could place his hand on it, he laughed.
"Not too shabby," Vanitas stood up and a dark corridor opened behind him. "Remember what I said earlier, 'Master' Rei. You can't protect them. You're going to fail again. And I do hope I am there when you do fail."
"Are just smiling under that mask? You can talk all you want, but you're not going to break us up," Michael said.
"You're going to fail," Wes said.
"And we'll make sure you do," Rui said.
"Honestly, I don't care if you believe me or not. But you are going to find out the hard way," Vanitas said, stepping backwards and disappeared into the darkness. The dark corridor closes before any one of them could pursue him.
"I appreciate the save, you three. I trust everything went well for you in Orre," Rei assumed.
"Yeah, it did," Michael said.
"As soon as we got back, there were eyes glued onto me and Rui when they saw we looked exactly the same. We may have been gone for five years, but it felt even longer than that," Wes said.
"I guess they expected me and Wes to be married with a kid or two by now," Rui said. She looked at Wes, already liking the idea of being Wes's wife.
"At least you came because I would have been done for if you hadn't shown up. I suspect Vanitas has gotten a tad stronger since my last encounter with him," Rei said.
"Well, then we're gonna have to be more careful when dealing with him," Rui said.
"She's right. He's going to be a problem as long as he's out there," Michael said.
"And you're also right. But how did you get here from Orre to here?" Rei asked.
"Professor Krane actually made me a new ride," Wes said, pressing a remote control. A new vehicle arrived, but it was more advanced than his old one. With this, we got here in no time at all," Wes said.
"Then it's a good thing you're here. Our first stop will be in Saffron City. Riku and Naminé are there as we speak," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Wes, Rui, and Michael said as they boarded. Wes activates it and they rode off to Saffron City.
Back at the cabin, they filled the old man in about their current situation.
"I suppose you've come to learn about the Arcanine who lives here. A young man with a Flygon came here an hour ago, asking me the same thing," the old man said.
"Drew," Kairi said.
"And I can bet you told him everything you know about her, didn't you?" Xion asked.
"Her?" The old man asked, puzzled.
"Arcanine. We think Arcanine is a girl, but that's not important. What is important is whatever inform you have," Roxas said.
Back at the bakery, a baker is humming as he adds a little more icing on the wedding cake.
"There. A true masterpiece. Now to add the miniatures to make it complete," the baker said, turning around, getting them. He was unaware of the back door opening and a wild Munchlax walked in. Seeing the wedding cake, Munchlax heads for the cake and admired it for a second. Seeing how delicious it looked, Munchlax grabbed the entire cake and inhaled it like a vacuum cleaner and swallowed it in one gulp. "Now for the finishing-" He gasped when he saw the cake is gone and Munchlax is standing there with some frosting on its lips. "The cake! Why you little thief!" He begins to chase after the Big Eater Pokémon around the kitchen. "Come back here!" He kept chasing it until he caught Munchlax. "Gotcha!" He placed Munchlax in a steel cage. "Try eating your way out of this one!"
"Hey, what's taking so long with that wedding cake?" The boss asked, walking in. He exclaimed. "Where's the cake?!"
"Sorry, boss. I only took my eyes off it for a second and that little garbage disposal with feet ate it before I could add the finishing touch! It was going to be my best work! And all it took was a Pokémon with a humongous case of the munchies to undo everything I worked myself through the bone, making sure everything was perfect! I worked and slaved for that cake since morning, and now it's gone to waste!" The baker said, crying.
"We needed that cake today!" The boss exclaimed.
"This is all your fault, you greedy little glutton! What do you have to say for yourself?!" The baker asked.
"Munchlax," Munchlax burped.
"What's going on in here?" Another baker asked.
"The needed for that wedding today was just eaten by that thieving Munchlax, that's what," the boss said.
"And there isn't time to make another one before the ceremony," the first baker said.
"Well, it's a good thing I made this then," the second baker said, rolling out another wedding cake. The boss and the first baker were both surprised.
"Where did you find the time to do this one?" The boss asked.
"I've been working on this since last night. I've been hearing talk about wild Munchlax in the area, so I baked a backup just in case of an emergency," the second baker said.
"This bakery would be spiraling into bankruptcy if it weren't for you," the boss said.
"Well, let's deliver this cake before something happens to it," the second baker said.
"Yeah, let's," the first baker agreed, loading the cake into a box.
They loaded the cake into the back of the van and drove off.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple, the old man tells them what he knows about Arcanine.
"Now, it used to be that Arcanine never came down from those mountains at all. But lately, it seems like I see it almost everyday," the old man said. He took out a map and showed it to them. "Take a look at this map of this forest. Now, right here is a forest of Pecha trees it knows about. And over here is a spring where it goes to drink."
"This is a huge forest," Chase said.
"Yeah, very easy to get lost," Roxas said.
"Where do we even start looking?" Xion asked.
"We should check out the spring since it's the closest to us, and we know she'll come here to drink," Kairi said.
"Yup, it seems you kids are on the right track already," the old man said.
"You've been a big help, mister," Chase said.
They headed up to the spring and hid behind a bush to wait for Arcanine to come along.
"I hope that Drew guy hadn't been here yet," Chase said.
"So, which one will you be sending after Arcanine? Gedodude or Onix, or will you be using both?" Sora asked.
"I figured I could use Geodude since Onix is too big and slow. And Geodude's Rollout should be perfect," Chase said.
"You're thinking," Elaine said.
"Way to put that brain of yours to the ultimate test," Roxas said.
"But where is that Arcanine, already?" Elaine asked.
"That guy did say Arcanine comes here to have a drink, so she'll come here when she's thirsty," Xion said.
"Well, we could try out that Pecha tree forest he mentioned before," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but what if Drew has her in his sights by now?" Roxas asked.
"Even if he came across Arcanine by now, I can bet my necklace he could still be battling her. Even with Flygon as a Ground-type, that Arcanine is going down that easily," Sora said.
"Not without a fight, at least," Elaine added. She then feels her nose twitching. "Oh, no. I think I'm about to... about to... Ah-ah-ah-AAAHHHH--" Maple puts her paw over her nose to prevent her from sneezing. "Thanks."
"Eevee," Maple said.
"Shh! There she is," Roxas said. They saw Arcanine.
"Now's my chance," Chase said, taking out a Pokéball.
"ACHOO!" Elaine sneezed. Hearing the sneeze, Arcanine saw the group and ran off again.
"No, no, no, no, no, no! Come back! Ah, shoot!" Chase exclaimed as he angrily glared at Elaine who was blowing her nose. "You had to sneeze, didn't you?"
"I couldn't help it. When a sneeze comes, it comes," Elaine said.
"Well, you have at least sneezed quiter!" Chase accused.
"Knock it off, Chase. It's not Elaine got away from us again. Like I said, Arcanine isn't going to go down easily," Sora said. Chase sighed.
"You're right. Sorry for accusing you, Elaine," Chase apologized.
"It's okay," Elaine said, accepting his apology.
A little later, the group came to the forest of Pecha Berries. They marveled over how many Pecha Berries there were.
"Look at all those Pecha Berries," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"They look so ripe and good enough to eat," Xion said.
"And it looks like a good place to come up with a plan," Sora said. Everyone looked at Sora as he draws out his plan. "Okay, here we are. There are steep cliffs on the east and west sides of this forest. So the only two ways that Arcanine can come in is from either the north or the south. So, Chase, Xion, and Elaine will take the north while Kairi, Roxas, and I hide in the south."
"That way, no matter which direction Arcanine comes in from, we have eyes on her," Roxas said.
"Yeah, and we push Arcanine to Chase, Elaine, and Xion," Kairi said.
"And I know how to help," Sora said, taking out two of his own Pokéballs and tossed them. "Kingler, Poliwrath! Come on out!" Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Vaporeon! Go!" Kairi called out.
Their Water-type Pokémon came out. Chase took out a Pokéball and threw it. Roxas took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Come out, Squirtle!" Roxas called out.
"Come out, Geodude!" Chase called out.
Squirtle and Geodude came on out. Everyone waits for Arcanine to show up. It didn't take long for the Legendary Pokémon to come. She came to the south.
"There she is, Roxas said. He looked at Squirtle. "Okay, Squirtle! Water Gun!" Squirtle fired Water Gun. She began to run away from the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. Roxas took out his Rotom Phone and called Sora. "Okay, Sora! Arcanine is coming your way!"
Over to Sora, Pikachu, Kingler, and Poliwrath, Arcanine arrives.
"Poliwrath! Use Hydro Pump! Kingler! Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Poliwrath and Kingler fired their attacks, forcing Arcanine to flee towards Kairi.
"Vaporeon! Use Water Pulse!" Kairi ordered. Vaporeon fired Hydro Pump, forcing Arcanine to run again.
"Xion, Chase Elaine! Arcanine is coming your way!" Kairi shouted.
"Great! Geodude! Use Rollout!" Chase ordered. Geodude begins to roll at the Legendary Pokémon, but missed. Geodude comes back at Arcanine again, still rolling towards her. Arcanine jumped out of the way and uses Extreme Speed to get away again. "No, you don't! Keep using Rollout!" Geodude keeps on rolling after Arcanine, catch up with her.
"Look at Geodude go!" Xion said.
"Keep it up, Geodude!" Chase said. Geodude keeps rolling and rolling, but Geodude is unaware of a Diglett popping out and accidentally uses it to boost itself up and Geodude goes flying.
"Hey, Geodude! This is no time to go flying!" Chase exclaimed, running for the Rock Pokémon. Geodude goes through the trees and comes down, landing and hitting another tree, covered in trees and twigs.
"Dude," Geodude groaned in pain. Arcanine eludes them once again. The same Diglett came out from the ground and gave it a Mud-Slap in Geodude's face, showing angry it was. Diglett then blew a raspberry before going back underground.
"So much for that idea," Sora said.
"The next place to look would be those mountains," Kairi said.
"Yeah, the old man did say Arcanine lives up there," Elaine said.
"And this will be my chance to catch her where she lives," Chase said.
A little while later, the Pokémon Hunter and her Jynx are out, searching for Arcanine on foot.
"That Arcanine should be coming by here. There are plenty of Pecha Berries around here to choose from," the Pokémon Hunter said.
"Jynx," Jynx said. Hearing Arcanine's movements, she saw the Legendary Pokémon taking the Pecha Berries. "Jynx!" The Pokémon Hunter saw Arcanine.
"Good job, Jynx! Use Water Pulse!" The Pokémon Hunter ordered. Jynx hurls Water Pulse at Arcanine, but she dodged and fired Heat Wave at Arcanine. "Use Protect!" Jynx uses Protect to block Arcanine's Heat Wave. Arcanine uses Extreme Speed to elude the Pokémon Hunter. "Damn! It got away! Enjoy for freedom while you can, Arcanine! I'm going to capture you! You can run, but you can't hide!
Up in the mountain, the group waits for Arcanine to come. Chase kept Geodude out with him.
"Good thinking in coming here, Chase," Kairi said.
"Arcanine is good as trapped here," Sora said.
"Arcanine will have nowhere to escape, and we have her," Xion said.
"This is our last shot to catch her," Roxas said.
"So we have to make it count," Elaine said.
"Pikachu," Volt said, alerting Chase. He saw Arcanine coming. She stopped at the ledge.
"There she is," Elaine said.
"Go get her," Sora said.
"Right. Let's go, Geodude," Chase said. Arcanine spotted Chase and Geodude. "I got you now!" Drew gets in front of Chase and Geodude, much to everyone's dismay.
"Go, Flygon!" Drew said. Flygon hovered next to Drew.
"What are you doing?! I was here first!" Chase yelled.
"Hardly. I was up on that ledge since this morning," Drew said.
Arcanine jumped over them, making Chase groan in frustration.
"Great. Thanks a lot. Because of you, Arcanine got away again," Chase said.
"Please, like you had a chance of ever catching it anyway," Drew said.
"I know I stand a chance in catching that Arcanine! And as soon as I catch her, I'm going to use her to whoop your butt!" Chase challenged.
"How about a battle right now? One-on-one," Drew suggested.
"Fine with me!" Chase said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Onix! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Onix came out.
"You can have the first move," Drew said.
"You'll be sorry you gave me the advantage. Dragon Breath!" Chase ordered. Onix blew Dragon Breath at Flygon.
"Dodge that," Drew said. Flygon dodged, making Onix miss completely. "Using a Dragon-type move against my Flygon is a smart move, I'll give you that, but it's predictable. Flygon! Steel Wing!"
"Dig!" Chase ordered. Onix digs underground to avoid it. Flygon looked around for Onix. The Rock Snake Pokémon erupted from the earth. "Use Bind!" Onix grabs Flygon and puts the squeeze on the Mystic Pokémon. "How do you like that?"
"Not bad, but good enough," Drew smugly said. "Flygon! Use Dragon Breath!" Flygon fired Dragon Breath, hitting Onix on the mark and paralyzing it. "Show us a beautiful Steel Wing!" Flygon lands a hit with Steel Wing, knocking Onix out.
"Onix!" Chase exclaimed. He called Onix back.
"Now that it's over, let's hit the road," Drew said.
"Not if I beat you to the punch!" Chase said, running up. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple climbed up to the ledge. They all get to the ledge and they look around.
"What?" Drew asked.
"Where'd she go?" Roxas asked.
"This is weird. She just disappeared," Maple said.
"But she can't be too far," Sora said. As they looked around, Xipak spotted Arcanine and something else.
"Pika!" Xipak exclaimed. They all looked up and saw Arcanine.
"There's Arcanine," Xion said.
"Yeah, but look. There's something with her," Sora said.
They looked closer and saw Arcanine was taking out some Pecha Berries from her fur and giving them to three Growlithe puppies.
"Those are Growlithe," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said. Kairi then figured it out.
"And judging by how they look, they look very young. Maybe newborns," Roxas said.
"I get it. Arcanine's a mom, and she was stepping off the mountain just to bring them food," Kairi said.
"That explains why Arcanine came down very often," Drew said.
Just then a net came and entraps the Growlithe, alarming them.
"Gotcha!" The Pokémon Hunter said.
"Hey! Just what do you think you're doing?!" Drew exclaimed.
"What does it look like, kid? Just doing my part to catch Arcanine," the Pokémon Hunter said, reeling in the Growlithe puppies. "Wait, these are Growlithe." Arcanine jumped forward, but she fires another net and traps her in it. "Gotcha!" She placed Arcanine and the Growlithe puppies in the back cage with the other Pokémon she caught.
"She's a Pokémon Hunter!" Kairi gasped.
"Now, you're saying that like it's a bad thing," the Pokémon Hunter said.
"Let those Pokémon go!" Roxas demanded.
"Not on your life! These Pokémon are going to make me a lot of money; once I sell them, that is," the Pokémon Hunter said, starting her engines. She laughed. "Eat my dust, brats!"
"I don't think so!" Chase said. He turned to Geodude. "Okay, Geodude! Use Rollout!" Geodude curls up into a ball and rolls after the truck, hitting it. The truck then started to swerve. She screamed as she loses control. She keeps going until she hits a tree. They all catch up with her.
"There they are," Sora said.
"We're not going to let her get away with this," Kairi said as she and Sora took out their Pokéballs.
"Hold it. Why don't you let me and Drew handle her?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, we are the ones who started this, so we're going to end it," Drew said.
The Pokémon Hunter and her Jynx came out with an enraged look on her face.
"How dare you meddle into my affairs, you little brats! I am not going to allow you stop me! Especially when I'm so close in making my quota!" The Pokémon Hunter yelled.
"Jynx!" Jynx said.
"I don't think so," Drew said. He points to the cage. "Steel Wing the cage!" Flygon uses Steel Wing to break the cage, allowing the captured Pokémon to escape, especially Arcanine and her puppies. She exclaimed in anger.
"Why you little punk! Unforgivable! As my revenge, I'm going to take your Flygon and sell it to the highest bidder!" The Pokémon Hunter said.
"Not that you have a chance to do it!" Chase said.
"Yes, I will! And I'll prove it! Jynx! Use Blizzard!" The Pokémon Hunter ordered. Jynx fired Blizzard at them.
"Use Rollout!" Chase ordered. Geodude curls itself into a ball and plows through Jynx's Blizzard like it was nothing. Geodude then lands a hit onto Jynx, dealing some heavy damage, due to her weakness to Rock-type moves. Drew was impressed.
"Not bad, Chase," Drew said.
"I'm just getting warmed up," Chase said.
"Then, I'll have to cool you down! Jynx! Protect!" The Pokémon Hunter ordered. Jynx uses Protect block Geodude's Rollout. "Use Psychic!"
"Flygon! Use Flamethrower!" Drew ordered. Flygon fired Flamethrower at the Human Shape Pokémon, landing a hit.
"Jynx! Use Psychic!" The Pokémon Hunter ordered.
"Geodude! Use Rock Throw!" Chase ordered. Geodude unleashed Rock Throw, hitting Jynx on the mark. "Use Stone Edge!" Geodude unleashed Stone Edge, hitting Jynx, dealing some extra damage.
"You're even better than I thought," Drew said.
"You're not bad, yourself," Chase said.
"What do you say we wrap this up?" Drew suggested.
"You read my mind," Chase said.
"Flygon! Start flying!" Drew said.
"Get on Flygon, Geodude!" Chase said. With that said, the Rock Pokémon grabs onto Flygon as it flies around. "Jump off and use Power-Up Punch!"
"Steel Wing!" Drew ordered.
Geodude jumped off and lands a Power-Up Punch, dealing some extra damage on the Human Shape Pokémon and building its attack. Flygon then lands a hit with Steel Wing!
"Geodude! Use Stone Edge!" Chase ordered.
"Use Flamethrower, Flygon!" Drew ordered.
Flygon and Geodude unleashed Stone Edge and Flamethrower at Jynx.
"Use Protect!" The Pokémon Hunter ordered. Jynx tries to use Protect, but Geodude's Stone Edge and Flygon's Flamethrower came too fast for Jynx to protect herself and received heavy damage, because of her weakness to Fire and Rock-type attacks. Jynx flew right at the Pokémon Hunter and goes flying over the forest.
Meanwhile, Officer Jenny is on patrol when the Pokémon Hunter and her Jynx lands on the ground, surprising the policewoman. Recognizing her, Officer Jenny took out a pair of handcuffs and arrests her.
Back with the group, Arcanine affectionately licks her babies, glad that they're safe.
"Look at that. It's so very sweet," Xion said.
"Hey, guys, I think I'm going to give up catching Arcanine," Chase said.
"What? Why?" Elaine asked.
"Well, it would have been awesome to have an awesome Pokémon like Arcanine under my belt, but I decided that those little Growlithe needs her a whole lot more than I do," Chase said.
"Well, I'm going to call it quits, too," Drew said, flipping his hair. "I would liked nothing more than to have Arcanine to win Contests, but it'll be too cruel to break up such a happy family. I guess I'm gonna find another Pokémon for that."
"Well, it's for the best anyway," Sora said. Arcanine let's out a shriek, sounding like thank you as she and her puppies started to walk home.
A little while later, Drew stands before the group.
"I guess this is goodbye," Drew said.
"Until we meet again, you mean," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"You know, Kairi, I thought I should tell you there's a Contest taking place in Saffron City pretty soon. You should enter," Drew said.
"Saffron City, huh?" Kairi asked.
"You entering that, Drew?" Elaine asked.
"Nah, I have to focus on finding a new Pokémon to strengthen my team first, and I know you'll do well in it, Kairi," Drew said.
"Say, doesn't Riku's girlfriend Naminé live in Saffron City?" Roxas pointed out.
"Yeah, and so does Takato, Henry, Rika, Ryo, Kenta, Jeri, Suzie, and Kazu," Sora said.
"That actually works out for us," Xion said.
"It shouldn't be far from where we are," Chase said.
"And we can take part of the Pokémon Stadium Cup there, too," Elaine said.
"Hey, Chase," Drew said.
"What?" Chase asked. Drew flicked his hair.
"You have a lot of potential. I think you would do well in a Contest," Drew said.
"Thanks, but Contests aren't really my thing," Chase said.
"I understand. Sora, good luck in the Pokémon Stadium Cup," Drew said.
"I'll do my best," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple started to make their way for Saffron City for Kairi to take part in her first Kanto Pokémon Contest, and for Sora, Roxas, Chase, and Elaine to take part of the Pokémon Stadium Cup. How will they fair in their separate goals, and what was Vanitas even talking about to Rei when he fought her? You'll have to stick around if you wanna find out.
